Despite feeling uneasy after the previous part, Beatrice persevered and continued reading the subsequent contents of the novel.

It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that her limited focus had not placed much importance on her own well-being. Her initial determination to fully comprehend the true meaning of the book had tested her patience and tolerance.

Nonetheless, she remained vigilant, prepared for any sudden events that might unfold within or outside the forbidden library.

Considering that these foreign elements originated from an unknown source, carrying an air of uncertainty and untrustworthiness, she couldn't help but feel a sense of caution.

However, deep within her spiritual core, she held a glimmer of hope that everything would prove to be true, as it would ensure her brother's well-being and safety.

As for the elf and the supposed otherworlder, "Betty couldn't care less about their fate. In fact,"

[-- " hey, Subaru..."--]

[--I have a bad feeling about this,--]

[--" Do you think that kid is lost? "--]

[--" Well, uh...--Lest's just calm down a minute. "--]

[--" what are we going to do if she gets up and goes somewhere while we're dilly-dallying?! We're got to go talk to her right away... "--]

[--"You know, that kindness of yours is a great virtue, and given the fact that i myself was saved by the kindness I really don't want to say this, but do you have any idea what situation you're in right now? "--]

Upon finishing those lines, Beatrice turned the page, voicing her thoughts aloud.

"If these assertions are indeed accurate... She's

both naive and authentic, I suppose."

The centuries-old petite loli remarked, finding the half elf's character somewhat less impressive than she had anticipated once again, and not to mention how she seemingly reluctant use of the cursed name.

[--" Umm... Uh... Please don't cry, I won't do anything to hurt you, okay? "--]

[--" Now Feast you're eyes on this magnificent notched ten-yen coin! "--]

[--" Now, can you see this coin here in my right hand? I bet you can! All right, now I'm going to squeeze it tight. Like this... Squeeze squeeze squeeze. "--]

[--" Wait, Subaru... What are you...?"--]

[--"and would you look at that!"--]

[--"Wow! The coin I was squeezing is gone! Now where could it have run off to...?"--]

Reluctantly, she read through all those clownish and meaningless narrative, even though she discovered they were ultimately pointless.

She stared at the following words without any emotion, despite itt optimistic perspective.

[--"Would you look at that! So this is where the coin was hiding."--]

A trick suitable from a clown she thought while blinking and flipping the page.

[--"I see. So you got separated from your mother, Huh. Don't worry, don't worry. Just leave it to your big brother and sister. We'll find her right away!"--]

[--"You really look like you're used to this... Subaru, is your profession taming children?"--]

For reasons unknown, Beatrice seemed to accept the elf's words, even though such assumptions without concrete evidence led to uncertainty.

Her eyes narrowed as she noted this aspect of the book, and the seemingly predatory potential of the Japanese boy.

Not that she was a naive child to begin with; in fact, it's better to be safe than sorry if the next paragraph of the book substantiates the elf girl's harsh statement.

[--"When you take it out of context like that, that sounds really. Really bad! And no. I'm unemployed. "--]

She eyed the dialogue with suspicion before proceeding once again.

[--"So, big sister, how about you hold this lonely little girl's hand? She looks like she could use another friend,?"--]

[--"Right. Don't you worry. Just let you big Sister handle this. We'll definitely find your mom, Okay?"--]

[--"The way we are now. Don't you think there are some people out there who look at us and think That we're a young couple with our child? How embarrassing!"--]

[--"...Huh? Even with the benefits of the doubt I don't see how anyone would think that you and that girl are anything other than brother and sister "--]

[--"I can't tell if that's just really dry joke, or that's real what you thought I meant!"--]

As Beatrice immersed herself in the lines and gazed at a surprising image before her, her typically impassive expression softened, replaced by a subtle furrow of her brows as her mind delved into the unexpected words.

For someone who preferred solitude like herself, the idea of reaching out to another, of extending a hand in companionship, felt unfamiliar yet strangely captivating. (Feeling/emotions she once have but cease to exist after Ryuzu Meyer sacrifice herself)

Although she was hesitant to admit it, a part of her resonated with the sentiment conveyed in the dialogue.

Deep within her guarded heart, a faint spark ignited a yearning for connection, for someone to share both her burdens and isolation...

Despite her jealousy towards the elf, Beatrice truly desired to reconnect with her brother Puck, acknowledging the special bond they once shared.

Yet, even as these thoughts danced in her mind, Beatrice remained cautious, her defenses fortified by years of isolation.

She couldn't help but question whether such connections were truly within reach or if they were merely fleeting illusions.

The fact that a simple, peculiar storybook had evoked such contemplation was preposterous in itself, and she couldn't help but feel a tinge of embarrassment.

[--"Thank you so much"--]

[--"Now, I get the feeling that we're wasted a lot of time doing this, but what does our big Sister have to say? I'm sure she'll find some kind of way to describe this as a means to an end?"--]

[--"It's simple.-- "Now we can be in good mood as continue to search."--]

To suggest that Beatrice was merely taken aback by the Elf's purity and kindness would be a gross oversimplification.

It would undermine the intelligence of anyone astute enough to discern the distinction between right and wrong. It was, without a doubt, an understatement.

As she pondered the situation, Beatrice couldn't help but consider the notion that her brother's deep respect for this sincere Elf was influenced by her inherent traits of kindness and virtue.

[--"Even if we got my badge back, I'm sure I would have regretted not helping that girl. Don't you think it is better to both help the girl and get my badge back?"--]

Her thoughts grew increasingly tangled after encountering the mention of the little girl in the book. In all honesty, she held little concern for the character.

Fortunately, those somewhat bewildering and troublesome thoughts swiftly vanished as the Japanese boy injected a virtual experience into negativity.

[--"I see. You're right. Thanks to your quick decision. we won't have to say, 'Sure we abandoned that little anxious crying girl all lost and by herself, but we were able to get the badge back, safe and sound, Hooray!"--]

[--"Well that a really negative way to put it,"-- " but besides that... Why did you help me? I thought you were against helping the girl, Subaru"--]

already understood the reason of the Japanese boy as it were very obvious Beatrice just read it and moved on, as it is typical finding much of it boring, needless to say.

[--"I just wanted to show off my ability to do . magic tricks!... Which is, of course, a lie didn't I say so before? I'm going to help you find your badge so I can do my good deed for the day and go to heaven."--]

[--"But since you helped the girl, doesn't that count for your good deed for the day already?"--]

[--"That's a very good argument! But I mean, It's not like I'm limited to one day or anything. I can do more. So anyways. I'm going to do enough for tomorrow today! I'm actually planning to get this whole week out of the way!"--]

A personality like that is indeed rare in this dangerous world, which only adds to the significance that he was truly a foreigner in this place, despite the inevitable description in the novel.

Although his ambiguous thoughts and unconventional kindness are undoubtedly uncertain, the fact that he doesn't know who he was having a conversation with and the problem that lies within it is truly extraordinary.

[--"Subaru...with a personality like that, you're going to end up losing everything one day."--]

Beatrice's eyes sparkled with amusement upon hearing the elf's statement, clearly finding it funny. However, those emotions didn't manifest on her face, but only in her eyes.

[--"You're the last person I want to hear that from!"--]

[--"You really are a nice boy, aren't you?"--]

[--"You know, it kind of brothers me that you're treating me like I'm younger than you. I know that a lot of people think East Asian are younger than they are, but we really can't be that different in age, can we?"--]

Upon encountering a peculiar term used by the boy Beatrice, she looked upon it with curiosity, drawing upon the various knowledge she held about the term "East Asian."

While she could make an educated guess that it might be the name of their race, similar to how humans describe demi-humans, it ultimately depended on the true appearance of the person.

However, all of her intriguing speculations froze as she read the elf's response.

[--"However old you think I am, I don't think that you're very close... After I'm a half-elf."--]

"Impossible... then why would Bubby continue sticking with her? I wonder."

Beatrice murmured with a frown of disapproval as she contemplated the various reasons why her brother, Puck, would continue to associate with someone who coincidentally resembled the calamity of old.

It was unnecessary to even mention, but she had heard of the elves' bloodline and the extermination of half-elves in her long life, settled in the Mathers mansion.

Annoyingly, the past Margraves would sometimes request her help in spying and eavesdropping on guests, which was a disgustingly unpleasant experience needless to say.

The things she had heard about those pigs were beyond reprehensible.

Plots, greedy schemes, slavery, plans of assassination, and especially perverted acts that were too vile to be spoken aloud or spare of a thought.

[--"I see. No wonder you're so cute. After all, it's like a given in fantasy worlds that elves are always beautiful."--]

[--"...Huh?"--]

Well, that was honestly an unexpected response.

His delusions and imagination about elves are certainly bold in this world she thought while commenting.

"Fantasy worlds... How many times does he repeat this incomprehensible term," Beatrice pondered with a slight of amusement in her voice. "I suppose..."

[--"Hmm? What's wrong?"--]

[--"Yeah... I heard you the first time."--]

[--"...ah."--]

[--"Take that!"--]

[--"Ow! What the hell was that for?!"--]

[--The gray cat, which as always seemed to come and go as it pleased, had punch him in the face with its paw li--]

[--Puck purred, flicking at his whiskers-- "I don't know, I just felt this overwhelmed frustration and couldn't keep it up inside of me."--]

Beatrice's fascination deepened as Puck took center stage in the book, receiving ample narration time.

Every depiction of her brother further solidified her admiration, as the detailed descriptions unveiled the hidden greatness and mysterious allure that lay beneath his seemingly innocent exterior.

[--"If that's the only reason, it's going to be hard to get rid of the feeling that a great injustice has been done to me, but it was a soft and squishy punch, so I forgive you."--]

Her gaze continued to advance, attentively following the unfolding of the storyline.

With each passing moment, she absorbed the intricate details, delving deeper into the narrative, placing emphasis on the profound significance of each element.

[--"I mean, I not really mad at you or anything. If i had to say one way or the other, I'd say it's the opposite."--]

[--"the opposite?"--]

[--"Yes, the opposite,"--]

[--"Subaru, you...nincompoop."--] {A/N: What a nincompoop?}

[--"Nobody uses the word 'nincompoop' anymore, and what have I done to be insulted by you?"--]

[--"Hmph. If you don't understand, that's not my problem. More importantly, we're got to continue our search."--]

Having completed the playful banter between the boy and the elf, Beatrice found this scene to be nothing more than buffoonery, not to her taste.

This unexpected turn of events caused her typically casual and stoic expression to break, forming a slight amused smile on her lips.

Each line spoken by the elf seemed to further confirm Beatrice's theories about her attitude and personality, adding to the epiphany she had been pondering.

Despite sharing many similarities or obviousness with the Witch, the elf's unbelievable naivety and genuine behavior somehow managed to alleviate Beatrice's anxieties.

Furthermore, it was highly unlikely that her brother, Puck, would associate himself with someone who engaged in horrendous and condemnable actions. It was to be expected from Echidna, but stating this fact seemed unnecessary.

Beatrice continued reading, immersing herself once again in the narrative of the story as it delved into its initial struggles.

[--"Well, it's the capital of Lugunica. It's the largest city in the nation.--]

"These confirmed the obvious now in fact," Beatrice remarked with a brief scoff.

It confirmed that the events of the story indeed took place in this country. Although she had no clue about the specific location or the capital, she could easily obtain a map or order the maid to do so. However, she found such actions unbeneficial and worthless to her at the moment.

As the storyline unfolded, with its meaningless talk and descriptions, especially regarding the appearance of the thief and their direction of escape, there was no further mention of her brother, Puck.

Beatrice couldn't help but feel a sense of mundanity. Even though she read through all those boring lines, there were times when she would simply stare at the narration, unable to understand the references or the meanings behind them.

But she knew that these small challenges were, after all, elementary levels in front of her. Therefore, she swallowed those emotions and continued on.

[--"So that's the situation. I told her, 'Leave it to me!' and came over here to see you, Mr. Fruit Salesman."--]

[--"...What, it's you again? I was hoping for a customer, Mr.Broke,"--]

[--"Oh, don't be so cold, pop, you were acting pretty nice to me not all that long ago."--]

As Beatrice read the passage and experienced the unexpected plot twist, she couldn't help but recognize the serendipitous nature of the situation, even though Subaru, the Japanese boy, had initially refused to help the little girl.

It became evident that by helping others, one receives something in return, often in unexpected ways.

As Beatrice absorbed the contents, the playful and light-hearted narration and dialogues momentarily stirred a distant longing and frustration within her.

A longing for someone or something...

Frustration arising from the overwhelming complexity of emotions.

"Enough... I suppose."

However, Beatrice quickly dismissed these thoughts and continued reading with a tight grip and emotionless demeanor.

Annoyed for a simple (odd) book can increase her negative feelings

[--"Pops... You didn't kill this woman's husband and take their shop, did you?"--]

[--"What are you going on about? This is my shop, and that is my wife!"--]

Despite the comedic nature of the narrative.

Beatrice found herself staring at it with a sense of boredom, unable to muster much interest. Nonetheless, she continued to reading, albeit with a lackluster enthusiasm.

[--"I sorry about that. That was not the way to talk to the people who saved my daughter. Please forgive me."--]

[--"Oh, don't worry about it. I mean, it is true that we don't have money on us and..."--]

[--"that's right, old man! I hope you think a long and hard about your action...s... Um...your cute looks pretty scary right now." A firm look From Satella shut Subaru up.]

Without feeling a strong emotional connection, Beatrice gazed upon the scene with a hint of detachment before proceeding to the next part once again.

[--"You saved my daughter. I want to thank you. Ask me whatever you want."--]

[--Satella was surprised, but then looked to Subaru and smiled, but it wasn't the smile as before. This one was a triumphant one. " See, I told you. It really did come around and help us in the end!" She said, as if this odd twist of fate was entirely her own doing--]

"An odd twist of fate," Beatrice uttered with a dry tone, devoid of any emotions, as she recalled a distant and long-forgotten memories.

The fateful encounter. (Rzuyu Meyer)

The ruin of a paradise. (Roswaal A Mathers)

The formation of an unbreakable vow. (Echidna)

The rejection of the last hope. (Toska astrea)

and now... The Untrustable Tale. (Natsuki Subaru)

Truly, it was an odd twist of fate.

Despite her slightly limp form, it did not hinder her as she turned the page and finished Part 8 of Chapter 1, eagerly continuing into the next one.

To be contin--... ( Fμck No!, I will finish this now because I'm sick of it. 'Literally' )

As the storyline progresses, the protagonist Subaru and the supposed heroine 'Satella' search now in the slums, a destitute place for the less fortunate.

Beatrice didn't pay much attention to the description of the slums.

She had witnessed far worse than this, although it might be an exaggeration to think about it, considering she had been isolated in this library for 395 years.

But truly, this held little meaning for her. In fact, it was even pointless to write about it. And so Beatrice read continue without any more delay.

[--"Um, I have something I'd like to ask you, but—"--]

[--"What's that? This is no place for you and your fancy clothes to be walking around in, young lady, so go on now, get outta here!"--]

[--"At least you might be a little better off if you take off your cloak…"--]

Indeed, she bore a striking resemblance to a high noble, as Beatrice recalled from the illustration accompanying her first duet, not to mention her brother Puck's similar appearance upon his initial introduction.

As Beatrice delved into the novel's description of the two characters' awkward circumstances, she couldn't help but find it amusing and somewhat captivating.

However reading the elf's thoughts on the matter, Beatrice couldn't help but perceive a hint of joy in the situation despite it might seems cruel.

[--"Well, don't worry too much. You can leave this to me. Anyway, with the fruits of my labor, we'll soon have her cornered, so let's keep chasing after that criminal. So yeah, with the fruits of my labor, we'll soon have her cornered! So! Let's…keep…searching!"--]

[--"I understand that you're happy to be useful for once, but it's really lame when you put so much emphasis on yourself like that."--]

[--It had been little more than two hours since they had met, but with things like this, Subaru already felt as though he had known Satella for a long time. However, this little episode had a different ending than the last few.--]

Throughout the narrative of the novel, there were numerous instances where suspicious words were subtly hinted, leaving Beatrice puzzled in the end.

Interestingly, this was the first time Beatrice encountered a book that repeatedly mentioned the name "Satella." Curiously, every time she came across the name, an unsettling feeling stirred within her, prompting her to dismiss it from her thoughts.

It was as if someone had the ability to read her mind, which heightened her alertness and vigilance to an unprecedented level.

[--"I'm sorry, but I'm already at my limit," said Puck weakly as he leaned up against Satella's neck.--]

[--"The way you disappear kind of looks like you're dying."--]

[--"I tried to stick around longer than usual because I wanted to protect my precious daughter from this evil-eyed guy hanging around her. But when I work myself to the bone, I end up fading away when it's time for me to disappear."--]

[--"That's terrible! But leave it to me! I won't let any dangerous guys near her after you disappear!"--]

[--"Wait, does that mean it's okay for me to wipe you off the face of the Earth before I disappear?"--]

[--"No! Not okay!"--]

[--"I'm joking," said Puck with a small burst of laughter.--]

[--"I'm sorry for pushing you so hard, Puck. I'll do my best from here on out, so you just get some rest."--]

'Bubby appeared to have found the true purpose in his life' Beatrice thought, accompanied by a lingering feeling of sinful jealously.

As she recalled distance memories of Bubby's departure from their mother's floating mansion, a sense of discomfort washed over her, yet the memories persisted.

[--"I'm sure you know this already, but be careful and don't push yourself too hard. If something happens don't hesitate to use your od to call me back out."--]

[--"I know, I know. I'm not a child. I can take care of myself."--]

[--"I wonder about that… My precious daughter here always makes me worry when it comes to things like this. I'm counting on you, Subaru."--]

[--"All right! Just you leave it to me. You can trust my sixth sense. When it sounds the danger alarm, I'll get us out of there in no time!"--]

[--"I really don't understand half of what you're saying, but all right. Now with that out of the way, good night. …Becareful."--]

As Beatrice delved further into the narrative, a sense of unease washed over her.

The prologue she had read earlier resurfaced in her memory, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that it was a foreboding sign.

Her eyes narrowed with suspicion, and she scrutinized every word on the page, leaving no detail unnoticed, even if some of it seemed perplexing.

[--"Now it'll be just the two of us…but don't get any ideas. I can still use magic, you know." Apparently Satella had taken Puck's last words seriously, and was on her guard.--]

[--"Hey, the last time I was alone with a girl was in elementary school. I'm not really capable of doing anything. Haven't you been paying attention to my lack of human skills thus far?"--]

[--"You're totally hopeless, but then again, I'm convinced.…All right. Let's keep going. But remember, with Puck gone we need to be even more careful than before."--]

"To think that Betty would experience such emotions just from reading this single book... It's quite absurd, I suppose." (ಠ_ʖಠ)

Beatrice couldn't help but acknowledge the significance of the approaching turning point, even though a part of her screamed to cease reading and delve into the truth behind the enigmatic phenomenon.

However, the prologue and the initial quote from the novel had truly captured her interest, compelling her to continue on this captivating literary reading.

[--"Hey, my brother, how's life?"--]

[--"If it's Felt you're looking for, whatever she stole is probably sitting in the loot cellar. She usually takes things there, gets them tagged, and then the old man who's the master there'll get them sold at a market somewhere else."--]

[--"That sounds like a pretty strange system… Doesn't anyone worry about the master of the cellar taking off with all of the goods?"--]

[--"The reason he's the master is because people trust him not to do that. But, well, even if you go up and tell him it's stolen, he'll probably just say 'So what?' right back at you, so you'd better be prepared to negotiate a price to buy it

back. After all, it's the original owner's fault for being stupid and getting it stolen in the first place!"--]

Unconsciously, Beatrice found herself in agreement with the extra character's straightforward and candid statement, finding the elf's flustered reaction in the novel quite amusing.

[--"Why do I have to pay to get back something I already own…?"--]

[--"It seems a little late to be asking this question, but that badge you say was stolen from you…does it happen to look expensive? Even if we walk in expecting to be overcharged, it would be impossible to negotiate without having any idea of what it's worth."--]

[--"…It's small, but there is a jewel embedded in its center. I don't know how much money that someone might buy it for, but I am fairly certain it wouldn't be a small amount."--]

[--"A jewel, huh… That seems like it's going to be a problem."--]

It appeared that the jewel the blonde rat had been clutching held the key to everything.

Beatrice couldn't help but feel that if Bubby had been the one pursuing or managing this situation, it would have been resolved before it even began.

This peculiar assumption went unquestioned, as Beatrice held steadfast in her stubborn ideology. Though it's just once again seems biases.

[--"All right, according to what we've heard, there should be a master in charge of this cellar who handles all of the stolen goods, but…just how exactly do you want to approach this?"--]

[--"We're going to be direct and honest. We'll just say, 'We've had something stolen from us, so if you can find it, please return it to us.'"--]

As Beatrice read the sincere and naive plan by the elf once again, she couldn't help but feel a sense of astonishment.

The mindset expressed was uncommon for an adult, leading Beatrice to believe that this half-elf, her brother's contractor, was nothing more than a silly girl trapped in an adult's body.

Continuing to scan and read the subsequent parts, she found nothing particularly noteworthy.

However, that didn't deter her, as she chose to skip over those words and eagerly immersed herself in the rising action of the story.

[--"All right. I'll leave it to you."--]

[--"Look, I understand that it's hard for you to let me handle something this important, and I'm not stupid enough to think that I've gained your trust, but I've got a plan, so if you'd just trust me this once—Wait. Huh?!"--]

[--"W-why are you so surprised?"--]

[--"Going by everything that's happened so far, you'd think that this would signal the start of an argument, right? I imagined you'd say something like, 'Do you really expect

me to just let a good-for-nothing like you, whose only ability is to convert oxygen into carbon dioxide, handle something this important? Don't make me laugh! I'd expect a dog to do a better job than you!' Then I, while hurt, would use the opportunity to renew my determination!"--]

[--"I would never say something that mean!"--]

Disregarding the peculiar Japanese rant, Beatrice turned the page, her curiosity piqued as she delved into the next part, feeling a sense of foreboding.

[--"Still, even though you act like a jerk sometimes, it was because of you that we were able to keep that little girl from crying, and I don't think you're the kind of person to lie or do anything without thinking about it first,"--]

[--"So…I'll trust you. …If this all works out I might

even think that meeting you was all worth it."--]

[--"You know, if instead of that last part you had just looked up at me and said, 'Please, do your best for my sake,' I would have been totally pumped up to do this, you know?"--]

[--"I can't force myself to say something like that, but…Good luck."--]

A peculiar sense of apprehension inexplicably grew within Beatrice, albeit she chose not to acknowledge it, dismissing it as nothing more than an initial absurdity.

[--"I didn't hear anyone answer me, but I'm going to go ahead and go inside, so can you please keep watch?"--]

[--"Are you sure? Wouldn't it be better for me to go instead…?"--]

[--"If on the off chance someone ambushes us and you're the one taken out, then it's all over. If I'm the one attacked, you'll be able both to help me, and to strike back. This is the most reasonable way to do this, so please let's just go with my plan, okay?"--]

[--"At least take a light. And call me in whether someone's there or not."--]

[--"I know, I know. Puck told us to be careful, so I'll be careful. This is really useful, by the way."--]

[--"You can find lagmite ore just about anywhere. You really are ignorant, aren't you, Subaru,"--]

[--"Okay, well then, I'll go take a look. I don't think I'll be gone too long, but you can go ahead and eat without me."--]

[--"Oh, stop being so stupid. Be careful, okay?"--]

[--"Gotcha. Also, Satella? Don't come in until I call for you—got it?"--]

[--"…What's wrong?"--]

[--Satella was looking at Subaru frozen, with her eyes open wide. This reaction was far different from any that Subaru expected, and so he tilted his head in confusion.--]

Suspicion ignited within Beatrice's butterfly-shaped eyes, but it quickly dissipated as she delved into the explanation behind the half-elf's peculiar reaction.

[--"I'm sorry… It's nothing. Once we get my badge back, I'll apologize properly."--]

[--"I don't know what you're planning on apologizing for, but I'd rather hear a 'thank you' instead. It would be even better if that thank-you came along with a smile."--]

[--"You dummy."--]

'What could be the real name of this elf i wonder?' Beatrice mused, her thoughts drifting as she read about the elf's sincere guilt for deceiving the Asian boy, Subaru.

[--"All right. Will it be a snake or a demon that pops out this time? Given the fantasy setting, neither option is one I can just laugh off…"--]

[--"The way the system works, if you rounded up all of these wooden tags and handed them to the guards, it looks like they could arrest everyone at once…"--]

[--"Hmm?"--]

[--"What is this…?"--]

[--"…Wha?"--]

A serious expression settled upon Beatrice's face as she encountered the disturbing details of a murder within the pages of the book.

Though it was merely a description on paper, her vivid imagination conjured the scene in her mind, leaving her feeling uneasy.

However, this discomfort did not stem from fear; rather, it sparked her curiosity, compelling her to seek answers to the doubts that lingered within her.

[--In the small visible range of his light, what he

first saw lying limp on the ground was an arm. Its hand's fingers were reaching out as if to grab something, but the other end of the arm, at the elbow, was missing the body it should have been connected to. Moving his light and following along the axis of the arm, Subaru saw a leg farther on ahead—a leg attached to a body. With the exception of one arm, that body had all of its other parts, though the throat area was cut wide open. It was the corpse of a large old man.--]

[--"Eek!" Subaru squealed pointlessly as he realized what he was looking at.--]

[--"…Well, you found it. That's just too bad. Now I have no choice, yes, no choice at all."--]

As Beatrice read the mysterious dialogue involving the obvious murderer, she paused her train of thought, carefully contemplating each sentence.

She then proceeded to read the page, silently immersing herself in the text, eagerly devouring the unfolding predicament. (which the author greatly appreciated)

["Gwah!" Subaru didn't have the opportunity to turn around. -- He hit his back against the wall--lagmite, and darkness--it tumbled into the distance.--over his consciousness was…--]

A heat assaulted Subaru Natsuki --This is really, really not good. --against his face, he realized that he had fallen facedown on the ground. --when he tried, and he already couldn't feel --What he did feel was heat, --He coughed and vomited the blood --the source of his waning life. --with his hazy --he could see the ground in front of him stained red.--]

["Just you wait…" He seized his fading consciousness, pulling it desperately back around to buy a bit more time.--]

["I'm going to…" —find a way to save you.--]

[In the next instant, he—Subaru Natsuki—lost his life--]

The last line of the chapter echoed in Beatrice's mind as her gaze slowly drifted towards the tragic depiction beneath her.

Unbeknownst to her, this was the first of many heartfelt deaths she would be reading while engrossed in the enigmatic novel. She was about to delve deeper into the tale of Re:Zero Starting Life in Another World.

Her grip on the book loosened, though Beatrice didn't release it completely.

Discomfort washed over her as the vivid image of two naive hands stained with fresh blood and a disheveled silver-haired figure flashed in her mind.

Although it was just a story, albeit an extraordinary one, the unsettling pictures lingered in Beatrice's thoughts.

She opened her mouth to comment on the tragic scene that had captivated her, but an inexplicable feeling of being summoned silenced her words.

Her brows furrowed as she closed the book, rising from her chair and placing the Re:Zero light novel on the nearby table.

With a familiar frown etched on her petite face, she swiftly made her way towards the exit of the archive.

The only one capable of diverting Beatrice's attention and interrupting her reading was none other than the bothersome Jester.

Roswaal L. Mathers, the lord of the mansion.

Spoke with the famous accent from his seat in the meeting room. "As you can see, Beatrice-sama, Ram with her clairvoyance, and our dearrrr Frederica with her keen sense of smell have found no abnormalllllities around the mansion. And dear Rem has already conducted two thorouuuuugh patrols," Behind him stood three maids with blue, pink, and yellow hair, dressed in their night pajamas, a sight that failed to elicit any emotional response from Beatrice.

"Surely, you don't mean to imply that Beatrice-sama has made an error, Roswaal-sama?" 17 year old Frederica questioned, her face contorted with confusion, while a 12 year old Ram maintained a neutral expression exchanging glances with her sister Rem who is the same age as her.

Three underage girls working towards a peculiar clown might raise concerns of potential misinterpreted, bordering on accusations of pedophilia.

However, beneath the surface of that clown makeup lies something far more sinister than the ordinary human imagination can fathom.

"Do not misunderstand, I suppose," Beatrice's voice cut through the silence, her gaze avoiding Roswaal's. "Betty would not waste her precious time and mana on futile endeavors, in fact." Her tone was resolute and unwavering, resonating with a finality that filled the room.

"I understand now. My sincerest apollllogies for ever doubting you to begin with. Hooooowever, I kindly request that you enlighten us, Beatrice-sama, regaaaarding the nature of this sudden threat that prompted your swift inttttervention," Roswaal spoke, his gaze unwavering as he observed Beatrice's retreating figure.

A weary sigh escaped Beatrice's lips as she responded, "Betty shall clarify this matter once, but understand that betty are not obligated to disclose every detail, in fact"

"Please, I implore you, there is no ill willlllll intended. I truly understand that your utmost concern lies in ensuringgggg the safety of the residence," Roswaal assured, his tone filled with genuine understanding much to the great spirit annoyance.

"Spared your gratitude, for it holds no weight in Betty's ears, in fact," Beatrice retorted with a touch of exasperation.

A soft chuckle escaped Roswaal's lips as he replied, "Very well. Then Please continue with your expllllanation."

"It appears that a peculiar intruder had set their sights on Betty's cherished library, I suppose. Without hesitation, Betty took swift action to prevent the intruder from gaining entry. However, I lack any further information on the matter... Thus, betty fervently hope that this disturbance will be swiftly resolved supposedly, as the library remains vulnerable, in fact!" Beatrice effortlessly concealed the truth, refusing to provide any further details about the events in the archive or the mysterious black books.

She had already decided that sharing the true account would only invite more troublesome inquiries, wasting her precious time entertaining the clown before her.

Absorbing this information, the Margrave nodded slowly, seemingly convinced by Beatrice's evasive response. "I see... That is indeed a graveeee threat... and it is truly unfortunate to hear. Now, Beatrice-sama, you may gooooo. I shall personally ensure that my dear maids and myself thoroughly investigate any potential abnormalitiesssss," Roswaal responded graciously as Beatrice made her exit much to her relief

Roswaal's gaze lingered on Beatrice's retreating form, his mind filled with curiosity. 'What are you hiding, Betty?' he pondered, his thoughts consumed by the enigma that was Beatrice.

{A/N: Do you think Roswaal is a lolicon? or pedophile? or both? or Maybe worse}

Time passes quickly as the morning sun slowly rises over the Mathers mansion.

The villagers of Alram gradually awaken, approaching the day with optimism and bravery to face the challenges that lie ahead.

The children sleep until 8 or 7, their dreams filled with rainbows and sunshine.

However, amidst these ordinary occurrences, there is someone in the Mathers archive who lives always remains awake, engrossed in books that serve as a temporary distraction from it's isolating predicament.

But this seemingly typical routine is disrupted as Beatrice, the great spirit of Yin, gazes intently at the final lines of an enigmatic book she has been reading for hours.

[--"This may be the last time I can gaze at the moon and find solace..." Reinhard's words only reach the moon, which silently watches over them.--?]

She reads these seemingly final lines with a frown, clearly dissatisfied.

Re:Prophecy: Beatrice Knowing The Future from zero.

Note: This section of the original novel chapter will consist of a comprehensive reaction. However, writing Beatrice's reactions for volumes 1 to 15 would be excessively lengthy and may drain my motivation and energy. It could also hinder my ability to write the content I truly desire, particularly the 'The Dragon Kingdom Capital Arc' (Spoiler!).

Therefore, the upcoming chapters will be summarized with insights and time skips, as the story is currently set five years earlier than the canon timeline.

I apologize for the delay of 2 or 1.5 months, as I have been working on a new story (fanfiction) that is currently under development and being re-polished to meet my satisfaction.

Rest assured, I will continue to update the story, although progress may be slow. My goal is to reach the third arc or forth 'Resolution and Promise' and 'Early arrival on Priestella' (Spoiler!), before deciding on further developments.

Special Note that there is a new archive version available, where I have made small changes and additions to previous chapters.
