WHO IS DEADLIEST?
To find out, our world class fighters are testing histories most lethal weapons. Using 21st century science, we'll see what happens when the two warriors go toe to toe. No rules. No safety. No mercy. It's a duel to the death, to decide who is...THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
Roman Centurion
Year: 120 AD
Height: 5' 8"
Weight: 170 LBS
Armor: Chain Mail
Mongol
Circa 1225
Height: 5' 5"
Weight: 145 LBS
Armor: Leather Lamellar
Narrator: Here at the fight club, we pit four weapons used by the conquerers of the known world, the Roman Centurions:
Scorpion
Pilum
Gladius
Dolabra
Narrator: And see how they compete when put up against the tools of the vicious Mongol warriors:
Composite Recurve Bow
Glaive
Ild Sword
Iron Flanged Mace
Narrator: The battle begins with the two warriors striking hard and fast with their mid range weapons: The Roman Pilum, and The Mongol's Glaive.
George got his Pilum ready, preparing to charge the Mongol dummy. Holding it, he pulled back and thrusted the spear into the Mongol dummy's chest, with the Pilum managing to pierce the heart. For added effect, George then stabbed through the dummy's skull, leaving it gushing with the dummy's blood.
Charlie came up with Glaive, at the ready. His dummy was covered head to toe in Roman armor. With a quick swipe, Charlie only managed to scrape the armor. Stabbing again, he barely managed to penetrate the armor, only leaving a minor wound. He then stabbed into the breastplate, but only managed to scratch it.
Dr. Dorian: While the glaive looks impressive, the Pilum managed to pierce through and destroy the Mongol's armor. For that, I have to give my edge to the Pilum.
Edge: Roman Centurion
Narrator: Now the two warriors will take aim at each other with their deadly long range weaponry: The Mongol's Composite Bow, against the Centurion's Scorpion.
George prepared the Scorpion. The weapon took almost ages to reload, which was the one con behind the weapon. Firing it, the bolt pierced the Leather armor of the Mongol dummy, penetrating deep. He then loaded it again, firing another and piercing the breastplate.
Charlie came next, holding a Mongol composite bow in his hand. Taking the proper stance he aims and fires . . . only for it to bounce harmlessly off the Centurion armor. Frustrated, he takes a second arrow and fires it again. By either luck or skill, the arrow hits the dummy in the face, puncturing a decent hole. But, as luck would have it, it simply fell out. He then shot at the Roman's chainmail, just barely piercing it.
Dr. Dorian: This time around the answer is far more complicated. While the Mongol's bow is faster, the Scorpion did significantly more damage. While the scorpion is slower, the mongol's bow just barely penetrated. For this one, I say the edge is even.
Edge: Even
Narrator: Now our two warriors will clash sword to sword with their short range weapons: The Roman's Gladius and the Mongol's Ild Sword.
Charlie was determined to win this round, and charged his dummy with a blind fury. With a single slice, he cut off the Roman dummy's arm, before attempting to stab it in the chest. When he couldn't pierce the armor, he instead slit the dummy's throat.
Dr. Dorian: Jeez, it may not be pretty, but the Ild sure gets the job done petty well. I'd like to see if the Roman Centurion can counter this.
George took a proper stance with his Gladius, before getting the go ahead to let it rip. Charging the dummy, he stabbed the dummy in the chest, piercing the heart and armor all at once. He then cut the dummy's arm off, before finally cutting through the stomach area of the dummy. For added flare, he then decapitated the dummy.
Dr. Dorian: Well, I think we can all agree the Gladius did significantly more damage than the Ild. It pierced through the heart, and even cut the armor in half. My edge goes to the Gladius for its damage.
Edge: Roman Centurion
Narrator: The final test has come, and in it we will see which warrior possesses the better special weapon: The Centurion's Dolabra, and the Mongol's Iron Flanged Mace.
George stepped forward, holding a Dolabra. His job was simple. Charging forward, he raised his Dolabra, before embedding it deep into the mongol dummy's chest. He then pulled it out, embedding it deep inside of the dummy's neck, before finally, decapitating it.
Charlie glared at the dummy. His dummy was covered head to toe in Roman armor. With one mighty swing, the mace cracked the ribs of the target, before ultimately crushing the skull, even with the helmet on. The result, was a bloody mess.
Dr. Dorian: While the Dolabra is handy, it is at its core, a mining weapon. Meanwhile the Mongol mace, even with the centurion's helmet, managed to cause extreme damage to the skull. My edge goes to the Mongol.
Edge: Mongol
Narrator: With all the testing complete, Max Geiger uploads the data gathered from the tests into the battle simulation, developed by Slitherine Studio, to simulate a battle to the death between these two warriors. To make sure that victory isn't snatched by a single lucky blow, the battle will be simulated 1000 times. Who will win in this battle of some of histories strongest warriors? The Centurions, whose brutality allowed Rome to prosper? Or the Mongol, whose ruthlessness allowed them to carve out the largest continuous empires in history?
Close Range Edge: Centurion Gladius
Mid Range Edge: Centurion Pilum
Long Range Edge: Even
Special Weapon Edge: Mongol Iron Flanged Mace
It's time to find out which warrior is truly the deadliest. Max hits the button on the computer, and suddenly the screen goes "Matrix" on us.
The battle begins with a Roman Centurion walking through the forest, before spotting the Mongol, on his horse. He has never seen such an opponent before. Thinking it was an enemy of the Roman Empire, the Centurion carefully and as quietly as possible, set up the Scorpion to where it was aiming at the Mongol. As he carefully cranked his Scorpion crossbow, the centurion fired… which hit the Mongol's horse, taking it out of action and killing it. Falling off his horse, the mongol grabbed his Ild and sheathed it, stashing his mace elsewhere as he grabbed his Bow, to fire at the Roman. Only managing to bounce off the armor of the Roman.
The Roman meanwhile grabbed his Pilum, and let out a war cry as he would charge at the Mongol. The mongol shot his bow and arrow at the Roman, but the arrows merely bounced off the Roman's shield. Noticing this, the Mongol would then switch to his Glaive, which would lead to the two warriors engaging in a battle of mid range weapons. Thrusting his Glaive forward, the Mongol's Glaive merely scraped the Centurion's armor. Reacting to the Glaive attack with a stab into the Mongol's side, the Mongol dropped his Glaive. Drawing his Ild sword, the Mongol sliced the spear in half, pulling the stump of the spear out of his side. He then re sheathed it, fleeing to grab his mace. The mongol then grabbed his mace, waiting for the Centurion.
Meanwhile, the Roman drew his Dolabra, searching for the Mongol. The Mongol jumped down from the tree, smashing his mace into the Roman's shield. The Roman grunted in pain, before swinging his Dolabra at the horse warrior.
The battle of melee weapons was brief; the Mongol's mace clashing with the centurion's dolabra. Clanging of metal was heard between the two, but it did not last long.
Unfortunately for the Roman, the Mongol smashed the Dolabra off's blade off of it's handle with his mace. Forcing the Roman to draw his Gladius. The two warriors locked eyes for a moment, before charging. It was a battle of Gladius vs Mace; with the Mongol attempting to bash the Roman's head in. He only managed to bash the shield of the Roman, as he was unable to get through the shield of the Centurion. This lead to the Roman letting out a yell before charging, shoving the Asian horse warrior back.
The Mongol, with his mace, would retreat, with the Roman following suit. Following the Mongol to where he last saw him, he was unable to find him. He was unaware of the Mongol in a nearby tree, holding his Composite bow. Turning around, he saw the Mongol draw an arrow back, and fire... but the arrow simply bounced off the shield. Irritating the Roman as he blocked the arrows of the Mongol. Realizing he had a spare Pilum on him, the Roman took it off his belt, throwing it at the Mongol. Hitting him in the stomach area of his armor with great force. Knocking the Mongol off the tree, the warrior hit the ground with a grunt and thud. The Mongol picked up his Mace, ran at the Centurion, attempting once again to bash his shield with the mace. Unfortunately for the Mongol, this did not work out so well for him.
The Roman bashed the Mongol with the shield, sending the Mongol back. The Mongol drew his Ild sword, staring down the Roman before charging. The two warriors engaged in sword play, with their weapons clanging against each other. Steel met steel as the two warriors fought, with both trying to get into the guard of the other. The Roman swung his Gladius at the Mongol, who just barely blocked the Gladius of the Roman.
The mongol, having sustained injuries, was noticeably faltering. This was all the Roman needed to take advantage of. Penetrating his guard, the Roman sliced the Mongol's sword arm clean off. Letting out a yell of pain, the Mongol was at the Roman's mercy. The Roman then plunged his Gladius into the Mongol's heart, who spat up blood. Pulling the blade out, the Mongol collapsed to the ground, dead.
"Long live the empire!" The Roman shouted
Winner: Roman Centurion
Roman Centurion: 595

Dolabra: 141
Pilum: 89
Scorpion: 100
Mongol: 479
Ild Sword: 185
Iron Flanged Mace: 134
Glaive: 70
Composite Recurve Bow: 90
Narrator: In this climactic battle between two of history's most feared warriors, the Roman Centurion managed to slay the Mongol and bring glory to Rome.
Dr. Dorian: Well, I will say that it was a very close call. The Mongol was no joke, but at the end of the day, the Centurion's better armor and Gladius sword won him this fight. I think, had the Mongol had better steel and armor, he could have won this fight.
We see the Roman Centurion return back to his camp. As he is tended to for his wounds, he stares at his armor. Which now has the Mongol's Ild sword next to his own Gladius. He has also taken the Mongol's Glaive to replace his Pilum, having lost it in the battle. He was impressed with the strange looking weapon. He stares at the armor, smirking, having just defeated a warrior of another empire.
The End.
