Prologue

Czecha cheered as he devoured a chicken wing. He and his pirate crew were celebrating their latest and greatest plunder of the Wildlands. Ever since the death of Xerkan (and Uthrain), the Wildlands fell even further into disarray, making it a hotspot for mountain bandits, pirates and thieves. Their ship crashed through the tumbling waves and raging water-Beasts, who, upon attacking the ship to show their distain, were treated with a cannonball to the face,

"I plundered 50 silvahs off one o' thems stupid 'ownsfolk!" Barked Sorpiron, Czecha's loyal and violent right-hand man. Times were good for the dirty thieves, but it was not to last...

CRASH! A giant electric eel sank it's teeth into the wooden planks of the ship, crushing a dozen cabin boys. The pirates instinctively pulled out their flintlocks, cutlasses and cannons to fight the unexpected threat, but suddenly another giant eel slowly snaked onto the ship, it opened it's mouth... ZAP! Half of the puny pirates were fried by the cunning Beast as it shot beams of lightning out of it's mouth. Rage built in Czecha as 2 other eels came to strike, but before he could act, another Beast rose out of the water. Not an eel, not a sea serpent, but a giant Octopus. A tsunami of water scrambled out of the Octopus' mouth, nearly drowning the remaining pirates, and sending some overboard and left to be wolfed down by the hungry eels,

Surely this can't get worse!? Thought Czecha, watching in horror as Sorpiron tumbled off the ship, into a whirlpool of woes. But then he realized... Water and lighting merged into a mixture of agony as the eels bit deep into the planks. Volts of electricity ran ragefully and blew the hands off of arms, eyes out of heads and feet out of legs of unlucky pirates. Nobody survived as Voltagox, Bringer of Blackouts revealed her true, terrifying form. The sea-Beast had no tentacles, but snaking electric eels in it's place. The petrifying beast, efficient in it's genocide, returned to it's murky lair...

Chapter 1: A Grim Warning

Tom lay in bed, sweaty and scared. Nightmares. He dreamed about a giant beast, bigger than any he had ever faced before. And shadowy figures lurking around, everywhere. The Beast, cloaked in darkness and defying nature, fell through the floor. Tom cried out in horror as the Beast formed in front of him, and shot out tentacle like tendrils to pin him down. He struggled as he fought for freedom, but the tendrils were impossibly tight. The shadow figures observed him, and transformed into infamous foes he had faced before. Sanpao, Malvel, Jezrin, Velmal, Ria, Kensa, Zuba. But one stood taller than the rest. A knight, Prince Angelo. Tom thought. The prince transformed into an ugly Beast Tom remembered all too well: Xerkan,

"Welcome, pathetic Master of the Beasts, to the Isle of Ghosts!" Boasted Xerkan,

"You..." Muttered Tom, "What do you want?"

"Never thought you'd ask!" Shrieked Xerkan, "Ever since my death, the animal kingdom has been DESTROYED! Without yours truly to rule it, the Evil Beasts are starving. But someone offered to change that. This is your chance to join the Bringers of Ruin! I have sacrificed the last remaining part of my dead soul to bring the Nightmares onto your pathetic realm!" Xerkan began to fade from existence, gasping for air. A giant rift opened in the dark grey sky, it's ominous purple glow ripped the Beast that trapped Tom into it, bringing the weak structures that littered the Isle with it. Like a black hole, everything was sucked into the purple portal. As Tom was swept up too, he wondered; was this a bad dream, or a grim warning?

Chapter 2: The Death of Avantia

Tom woke up to a loud crash. Terrified, he quickly got dressed, equipped his weapons and ran outside his room. SCREECH! A giant monkey instantly detected Tom and darted towards him. Claw!? Tom realized, I killed him years ag-; in his shocked daze, Tom was grabbed by the Giant Monkey and thrown into it's jaws. Quickly, Tom sliced the ape's jaw off and fell to the ground. As he looked around, he saw rubble and fire littering the castle. Outside, he saw Ferno the Fire Dragon and Epos the Flaming Bird desperately trying to stop a horde of Flying Beasts from entering the castle. Tom suddenly was forced to run as the hallway roof began to collapse. What was happening? Why are all my old foes back for revenge? Tom pondered the answers, but then he ran into Elenna,

"Tom! We need to leave," cried Elenna, as she dragged Tom out of the collapsing hallway. She brought him to Captain Harkman and his soldiers,

"Tom, all the Beasts you once slain have returned, and are attacking all the kingdoms! The New Protectors have some important news to tell you!" Blurted Harkman. Tom was dazed, confused and scared, everything was being destroyed and everyone was shouting at him. He could overhear a soldier talking,

"Sir... Aduro... We found him, but... He's not breathing,"

Chapter 3: The Final Quest

More soldiers came, holding the beaten body of Daltec,

"He died to save me..." Cried Daltec, "It should've been me!"

Tom tried to comfort him, but Daltec didn't listen,

"How could this happen?" Thought Elenna,

"I know what happened," Said Rafe, flying in with the help of Rugara, one of the Metamorphia, "A group of anarchists calling themselves the Bringers of Ruin somehow got to the Isle of Ghosts and took the soul of one of the most powerful and evil Beasts there; Xerkan."

"So what did that do?" Tom blurted out, desperate to know the answers, to stop the death and destruction,

"A giant rift opened to the Overworld, taking all your foes with it," Rafe explained. He pointed to the sky. Tom gasped as he saw what looked like spilt purple paint from the sky. Nersepha the Cursed Siren was launched out of the rift and killed once again by Zulok, who had allied with Ferno and Epos to try and stop the army of Beasts,

"Tom, I can open a portal to where the soul of Xerkan is trapped, because I know where it is," Daltec woefully stated,

"What do you say Tom? Ready for one last Quest?" Elenna asked,

"I'm always ready" Said Tom.

Chapter 4: Blocked!

"Dammit," Mumbled Daltec, "A Beast in the Wildlands is blocking my portal!"

"We'll go stop it," Tom said, looking at Elenna, "Can you teleport us to it? Or is all teleportation magic blocked?"

"I can, it's just that the Beast is pulling the Nightmare Portal's energy into itself," Daltec hastily created a portal that launched Tom and Elenna into it,

"Ya could've at least said goodbye!" Rafe complained,

"There's no time, every second counts when all of the kingdoms are in danger!"

Tom woke up, his face covered in sand. He wasn't injured, Arcta's feather made sure of that. He was in the Wildlands, and in front of him was a giant shipwreck. Behind him, Tom saw a giant Beast; Tusk. Tom dived onto the shipwreck, tricking Tusk into ramming his head into it, injuring his face and causing the rubble to collapse onto him. The shipwreck was knocked into the ocean. Tom saw Elenna rushing to get onto the ship, which was barely holding together. She grabbed onto the bowsprit and clambered onto the deck before the hull snapped off the boat,

"Great, now we're both lost at sea," Tom grumbled,

"Woah, why so glum, dude?" Asked Elenna,

"I'm tired. I've done so many Quests that they all just seem to blend together, every time I think that I've completed a Quest, I suddenly have to do another one, Evil always keeps coming back, stronger and stronger each time,"

"You're right, Evil never stops, but that's why we need you, Tom, to stop them from harming innocents,"

Chapter 5: Battle of the Beasts

Suddenly, a giant squid crashed onto the floating shipwreck, cutting it in half. Elenna and Tom were split apart by Voltagox. Tom whipped out his red gem, and tried to reason with the Beast,

"Please let us travel to the Nightmare, lives are at stake!" Tom pleaded,

"Oh, shut it, loser!" Voltagox boasted, "I have a job to do, and you need to deal with it!" The Bringer of Blackouts attempted to shoot a beam of water at Tom, but he was too swift. Voltagox sent out one of her eel-tentacles. It chased Tom to the other end of the wreckage, and Tom nearly fell into the water when the edge snapped off of it. The eel charged up it's volt blast, but before it could strike, Sepron lunged out of the water and ripped to eel off of Voltagox. The Beast roared in pain, and was knocked back into the ocean by Krabb, one of the good beasts of Gwildor. The two battled underwater, with Krabb about to be crushed by the eels, but Sepron bit into Voltagox and sent her minions reeling,

"We have to help them!" Shouted Elenna at the top of her lungs,

"How?" Asked Tom,

"Maybe we can turn the eels against her!"

Chapter 6: Divide and Conquer

Tom threw his red gem to Elenna,

"Hey fishface!" Elenna shouted fearlessly, "Come and get us!" Voltagox threw one of her eels at the wreckage Elenna was barely able to hold onto. The terrified eel fell face first into the rotten wood. CRASH!

One down. Three to go.

Elenna whispered to Krabb and Sepron to retreat. They rushed to the next ocean. Voltagox looked at her with anger and confusion. Tom was handed the red gem and also taunted the Beast, but was ashamed to do so. The water-Beast slammed another eel into Tom. The Master of the Beasts parried the eel with his wooden shield. His arm was launched back from the impact, and he fell into the waters! Voltagox forced her minions into charging up their lightning bolts, but Tom quickly grabbed his shield and used Sepron's tooth to get to the surface. He back-rolled onto the wreckage, and watched hundreds of fried fish fall into the surface of the water. His fragile wooden island was splitting apart, he needed to defeat Voltagox before he was forced into the water, or he would be electrocuted by the Evil Beast! Elenna shot an arrow into the annoyed Voltagox, and it landed into her eye. In a fit of pain, the Beast slammed all four eels onto Tom's wreckage. The giant scrap was obliterated by the crushing eels. Tom was knocked overboard. Oh no! I'm going to be electrocuted by Voltagox! He realized.

Chapter 7: Caught in the Crossfire

All four eels were enraged by their master. They wanted revenge, they wanted justice. To Voltagox's dismay, she was pulled into the depths of the ocean floor. The eels charged up their lighting. The sound travelled to Tom's ears. I need to get to Elenna! He cried. Tom flung his arms into a desperate swim, nearly choking on the water in the panic. He used his Golden Armor to swim faster than he had ever before! The pitch of the eels charging grew higher than ever, and Elenna nearly fell into the water too, trying to grab Tom's arm. She grabbed him and yanked him out of the water with all her might. ZAP! The wreckage shook apart and Voltagox's corpse rose to the waters.

Chapter 8: Into the Nightmare

Once Tom and Elenna got to shore, they collapsed onto the sandy shore. A green portal opened and Daltec tumbled onto the ground,

"Agh," winced Daltec,

"Daltec, are you alright?" asked Tom worriedly,

"Yeah, I want to come with you on your Quest, I doubt you two would survive without me,"

"Rude, Daltec, that was uncalled for,"

"Sorry..." Daltec chanted a song, causing the trees to sway violently and a sandstorm to form around the trio,

"What's happening!?" cried Elenna. In the center of the storm, an inky black portal opened, sucking Tom, Elenna and Daltec into it. Just as the portal was about to close, one of the giant eels slithered through, it's tail regenerating after ripping it's body off of Voltagox's slimy hide.
