Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.
Author's Note: This story takes place during the Third Great Ninja War when Pakura was alive. And this story will not only follow Pakura, but a Hyūga OC character that can kinda relate to Pakura. Wish me luck!
"Hello. My name is Sato Hyūga. And this is my story. But, this story doesn't start with me."
Within the Land of Water, during a dark and foggy night... a single kunoichi from Sunagakure was roaming on a foggy mountain and was currently roaming toward the rendezvous point-which happened to be Kirigakure. The Kunoichi's name was Pakura of the Scorch Release. She hailed the title of Hero of Sunagakure for her numerous deeds for her home village and was acting as a secret ambassador. Pakura had walked on a rocky road in peace. The fog did not bother her. She had not came across any enemies, animals or suspicious people, until...
"Pakura-san of the Scorch Release!"
Pakura had stopped walking on a road when she heard her name and title be called by a voice down the road ahead of her. She then noticed a man walk from the fog in front of her. But not just any man... a single Shinobi from Kirigakure with a gray Kirigakure Jonin vest. "I have been sent out here to welcome you."
"Hm?" Pakura had stared at the male Kiri-Nin. She noticed that his eyes were closed and his mouth formed a big smile as he walked toward her.
"It's truly an honor to meet you." The Kiri-Nin had stopped walking as he had approached her, leaving a seven-foot gap between them. "Because, this big mist enshrouds us, we thought someone should come and guide you." He said as his smile did not drop.
"Thank you. But there's no way that I can get lost going through a valley like this one." Pakura had replied.
"Heh." The Kiri-Nin had embarrassingly rubbed the back of his head. "Very true. Now, please. After you." The Kiri-Nin had moved to Pakura's right to clear a path for her.
"Thank..."
As Pakura was about to finish thanking the Kiri-Nin for finding and beginning to escort her... she took a single step forward, and suddenly... as Pakura's eyes were closed, her ears were open. She heard the sound of three shuriken flying toward her direction from ten o'clock. Pakura had quickly opened her eyes and jumped a few feet back from where she stood. As she had jumped back, she saw three Shuriken were struck on the ground where she had landed. 'What? Shuriken?'
The Kiri-Nin had thought as he opened his eyes and stared at them on the ground. 'Wait, did someone-'
"Get away!"
Both Pakura and the Kiri-Nin had heard a voice coming from above them. To Pakura, it was ten o'clock. And to the Kiri-Nin, it was three o'clock. They both looked to where they heard the voice. Then, they looked up.
Suddenly, a mysterious person had appeared as he had jumped down to the same rocky road where Pakura was standing. Both Pakura and the Kiri-Nin had stared at the person before them.
An adult man dressed in a regular Konoha Jonin uniform. The person has fair masculine skin, short spiky dark brown hair and a pair of blank white eyes. The pair of blank eyes meant that the Konoha-Nin was from the Hyuuga Clan. And he also carried a a single kunai in his left hand. His name is Sato Hyūga.
"Yes. That's me. The Hyūga that just came out of nowhere."
"Who are you?" Pakura had asked, as she felt threatened by the newcomer from Konoha. She had taken a defensive stance against the newcomer, while the Kiri-Nin looked shocked to see the Konoha-Nin.
Sato had taken a deep breath, then wasted no time and activated his Byakugan in front of her. "Get away from here! That guy is trying to murder you!" Sato had shouted at Pakura.
Pakura had gasped. "What?" Pakura had looked at the Konoha-Nin in confusion, but refused to move.
"That's right! He's trying to lure you in and kill you-like he did with other Shinobi!" Sato had yelled.
Pakura had gasped, once more. "This man is trying to... like other... Shinobi?" Pakura had quickly turned to the Kiri-Nin, who claimed to be her escort.
"N-No! What he's saying is not true! The Mizukage had me personally ordered me to escort you back to Kirigakure!" The Kiri-Nin had waved his hands in denial.
"That's bullshit! I saw you meet up with a Shinobi from Takigakure on "this" road two nights ago and stabbed that person in the back with a kunai-then, you let out a trap to be bury your victim in nothing but kunai!" Sato had yelled at the Kiri-Nin.
Pakura had gasped in shock and her eyes were opened, all the way. She was now alerted of the situation after hearing the news from the Konoha-Nin. 'Wait, so this is...'
Sato had quickly turned to Pakura of Sunagakura. "You can't trust the people of Chigirigakure! Run while you still can!" He warned Pakura.
The Kiri-Nin had then turned to Pakura with a bit of a frustrated and nervous look. "D-Don't listen to him! He's the one who attacked us, a moment ago! You can't trust Shinobi from Konohagakure!"
"Listen to me. I know we just met, but you shouldn't trust random people you meet that smiles in your face-especially during a war." Sato had told Pakura.
"He's the enemy! Anyone who approaches you with a weapon is considered an enemy! You know that!" The Kiri-Nin had yelled to Pakura.
As the two Shinobi kept yelling at Pakura... the kunoichi from Sunagakure was stuck in a crossroads on who to really trust. The Kiri-Nin who arrived to escort her to the rendezvous point, or... the Konoha-Nin that threw shuriken at her. "You're right. I do know that..." Pakura had muttered. "But..."
"Eh?" Both Shinobi from Konohagakure and Kirigakure stopped yelling at Pakura for a moment.
"How... do you know what I know?" Pakura had suddenly generated three white and red fiery orbs that levitated and swirled around her head.
Sato had gasped when he witnessed Pakura's Ninjutsu. 'Wait, is that-'
'Scorch Release!' The Kiri-Nin had thought as he witnessed Pakura's Scorch Release Ninjutsu.
"I don't think that I should trust you, even though you just attacked me." Pakura had turned toward Sato with a gleam in her left eye.
Sato gasped.
"I came here for one purpose. And one purpose, only. And that is to meet with the Mizukage of Kirigakure." Pakura said as she begun to take a few small steps.
'Shit, she doesn't believe me!' Sato had thought as he felt a tiny bit scared. 'And I don't have anything to counter that kind of jutsu?' Sato had gripped his kunai tighter.
The Kiri-Nin whom had a looking frown on his face had suddenly turned his frown into a small smile. 'Good She's taking the ba-.'
Suddenly... one of Pakura's orbs had penetrated the Kiri-Nin's upper stomach, which gave him a painful and burning sensation in his upper stomach.
"Guarh..." The Kiri-Nin had clutched his stomach in intense pain.
Sato had gasped, surprisingly.
"B... but, why..." The Kiri-Nin that clutched his stomach had fallen down on his knees and fell on his face as he kept clutching his own stomach.
"Because. I remembered something. You shouldn't trust anyone you just met that keeps smiling in your face. My former master taught me that." Pakura told the Kiri-Nin as she slightly looked at him through the corner of her right eye. She said as she heard his groans of pain, then became quiet in a moment.
Sato Hyūga, the Konoha-Nin who stared at the incapacitated Kiri-Nin was surprised and shocked. 'She took out that guy with one of those floating balls of fire in one hit! I don't think I can take on a single one of those, head on!' He then turned his gaze to Pakura, who stood in front of him.
"Is it true?" Pakura had asked.
"Hm?"
"Is it true what you said... that you saw this guy murder a Shinobi from Takigakure in cold blood?" Pakura had asked as she pointed at the incapacitated Kiri-Nin.
Sato had replied to Pakura's question, but not right away. "Yes. I did. I saw it all happen with my own eyes."
"If so... then, why didn't you try to save that Shinobi?" Pakura had asked.
"Because, my back was turned when it happened. I saw them talking to each other from a distance with my Byakugan-and I assumed that everything was fine. But as soon as I turned my back... the unthinkable happened. When I looked back... the Taki-Nin was buried in kunai and his body dissected by Kiri Shinobi." Sato had replied.
"And yet, you chose to help me." Pakura had said.
Sato had replied. "I did. Because, I didn't want that to happen to you, also."
"You don't even know me." Pakura said as she begun to walk the opposite direction.
"You're right." Sato had nodded his head as he stared at her backside. "But, I think I've heard of you, before. Pakura of the Scorch Release?"
Pakura had stopped walking for a moment. "That's me."
"You're the hero of Sunagakure. If you'd like, I can help you get out of the Land of Water?" Sato had suggested. He then suddenly gasped.
"Thanks. But I think I can take it from-" Pakura had suddenly felt her right arm be grabbed and yanked back. She felt her body be pulled back as she realized that Sato had pulled her back. Pakura landed on her feet.
Sato had quickly moved in front of her after pulling Pakura back. He then took a Jūken stance.
'Eight Trigrams! Palm Revolving Heaven!' Sato Hyūga had spun his entire body creating a large wind cyclone of air. Deflecting dozens of sharp kunai. The kunai had been thrown from two different directions of the valley.
Pakura had gasped, surprisingly. 'Wait a second! That's...'
After all of the kunai had been deflected... seven Kirigakure Shinobi had suddenly appeared in Sato and Pakura by jumping from their two different hiding spots in the valley. They all head heald weapons such as katanas and kunai in their hands and they had looks of intent to kill and bloodlust within the air had risen. Some had chuckled in front of them.
Pakura and Sato had quickly stood back-to-back with each other, covering each other's flanks as they were surrounded. Pakura had surrounded herself and Sato with her spiraling white and red fiery orbs.
"I'll put my trust in you, for now." Pakura had told Sato Hyūga, while standing back-to-back.
"Thanks." Sato smiled a bit as he held his kunai in a defensive stance. "My name is Sato." Sato said, introducing himself, while threatened by Kiri Shinobi.
"Let's get out of this situation, first. Then, we'll talk." Pakura suggested that Sato wait a while.
"Right." Sato nodded.
Author's Note: My character, Sato Hyūga is the same age as Pakura. Which I assume that Pakura is in her late 20's.
Also: The Shinobi from Takigakure / The Hidden Waterfall Village that my OC character Sato had described had suffered the exact same death Pakura suffered in the original story.
