Me: Is this a one-shot or a drabble? Not sure, if I'm being honest. In any case, I need to study for an exam now before I start prepping for Turning Fandom Week.

Normal POV!
Routine is finding Kim Dokja sitting alone in an empty classroom waiting for her or his other friends to come fetch him because he likes to take his time packing his things up to avoid conversations with his classmates — a recent development since he got praised for a literature review by a teacher renowned for terrorizing students. What's not normal is finding the boy hunched over his desk in visible pain.
Frowning at the sight, Han Sooyoung briskly makes her way to him, careful not to bump into any desks on her way to avoid any unnecessary noises that may disturb her friend even more.
"Ya, Kim Dokja…? Did you eat something bad earlier? Maybe you should've taken Yoo Joonghyuk's offer…"
Softly, she says this in a way that's unusually muted for her. But even with the lowered volume, the response is a muffled whimper that is obviously in serious pain, making her trail off with an unfinished sentence. Worried, she swings her legs up so she can sit cross-legged on his desk, maneuvering her sucker around to the side with her tongue so she can focus on the task at hand.
"Hey…"
Receiving no verbal reply, she cups his cheeks and raises his head, meeting bleary eyes that seem to have trouble staying open. Her expression softened then, not missing the flinch from when she first lifted his head up.
"Is it a migraine…?"
Even a quiet mumble makes him jolt in oversensitivity, so Han Sooyoung sighs and gently brings his head down on her lap, which earns her a relieved sigh in return. She takes it further by curling her body forward so her front is pressing his head down further from where it rests, further blocking outside noises as a result.
She hears the classroom door open, and she turns to meet a curious Yoo Joonghyuk looking at them. She jerks her head in the direction away from the room, and thankfully the other is quick to understand. He leaves after closing the door as quietly as he can, and Kim Dokja remains unaware of the entire exchange.
When her suffering friend groans, Han Sooyoung clicks her tongue disapprovingly.
"You should've stayed home if your head was hurting."
She chides him, leaning over his hunched form to reach for his bag. They all noticed that he hadn't been reading as usual during lunch break, even more quiet than usual, but he reassured them that he was fine, even refusing the food Yoo Joonghyuk was offering him. He must've felt nauseous by then.
"... it wasn't this bad earlier…"
There came the meek response, but at least he sounds rightfully chastised. Han Sooyoung doesn't bother him with a reply, only fishing out the sumatriptan tablet Lee Seolhwa had the foresight to slip into his bag earlier. She also grabs his water bottle which, to her frustrations, looks untouched.
Sighing, she pops a pill out and cradles his face again, gently cupping his soft cheeks as she carefully lifts his face so she can see him. There are tears at the corners of his eyes, so it looks like he must've been enduring this for a while. She rubs the corners of his lips, coaxing him to open his mouth.
Weak from the pain, Kim Dokja can only obediently open his mouth and let Han Sooyoung feed him the medicine, pliant under her ministrations. Trusting, and seeming to find comfort in her touches. When she lifts a water bottle to his mouth, he doesn't hesitate to open his mouth and take measured sips.
Han Sooyoung hums, nearly cooing at his obedience until he drinks what she deems is enough water. She gently rubs his back when he drops his head on her lap again, docile in her hold, as though praising him for following her lead.
Outside, the others can be heard whispering in concern, but it looks like Yoo Joonghyuk is fending them off. Blockhead as he is, he knows some cues at least.
When her ward shifts in discomfort, she is quick to start soothing his back, whispering assurances into his ear. She will let him rest for a bit, but after a while, Yoo Joonghyuk will help carry him home.
For now, she stays to make the pain more bearable.

Me: DokSoo is so… easy to write, I need to step up on my JoongDok fics. Anyways, as usual, obligatory discord server (tdNdHA9) plug. Now, let me just figure out how to tag this (unlike the haphazardly tagged fic I previously published, ugh). See you guys in my next work, and stay hydrated everyone!
