Chapter 1 - The creation of vampiric pizza

Disclaimer: I do not own nor was I the creator of the twilight universe, in which this bizzare story takes place.

"I'm curious," Bella said as she picked up an apple, turning it around in her hands, "what would you do if someone dared you to eat food?"

"You're always curious," Edward grimaced, shaking his head. He glared at her, holding her eyes as he lifted the slice of pizza off the tray and deliberately bit off a mouthful, chewed quickly, and then swallowed.

Edward shoved the pizza slice over to Bella. Bella politely declined. She had never been a huge fan of pizza, truth be told. Also, today she wanted to seem healthy in front of Edward, who was the image of perfection. The slice, with one distinct bite mark, was left on the tray while Bella started eating her apple.

As their conversation - more like an interrogation - continued, neither Bella nor Edward noticed the subtle twitch omitted from the forgotten slice of pizza. It was later discarded into the trash, completely forgotten.

The pizza slice remained in the bag over the weekend. The lunch ladies had been busy that day, and forgot to take the trash out. The slice lay buried in the trash bag, undergoing a bizarre metamorphosis amidst the discarded lunch remnants. It writhed and twisted, completely unnoticed. It slowly gained consciousness and the overwhelming pain that came with it. With nothing short but agony, the pizza felt its cheese bubbling up.

Days passed, and the slice's agony finally ceased. It could feel everything around it in explicit detail. It was disgusting. It found itself amidst a sea of garbage, surrounded by soggy napkins and half-eaten sandwiches that had gained a horrifying scent over the weekend. With its newfound determination, the slice wiggled and squirmed its way to the edge of the trash bag. It found it surprisingly easy to do so. It was almost like how the slice imagined swimming.

Just as it broke free, triumphantly ripping through the plastic, a startled lunch lady cursed as she held the torn bag. "Oh, for the love of…!" she exclaimed, hastily setting the bag down to tend to the mess. While the lady scrambled to fetch a replacement bag, the pizza slice seized the opportunity to escape. This was its only chance, unless it wanted to end up in a dumpster and eventually be burned. It was only due to luck that it had been forgotten over the weekend.

With a burst of speed that surprised even itself, the slice dashed across the kitchen floor in a blur. 'Who knew pizza could be this fast?' it mused, reveling in its agility. It made its way out of the door into the busy cafeteria, making sure to hide behind the counters. The pizza couldn't shake the sudden feeling of hunger gnawing at its crust. But this hunger was different, primal, unlike anything it had ever experienced before. Not that it really had experienced anything, before today. But alas, it was cheese-bubbling and almost as painful as the strange transformation in the trash bag.

The slice realized that it craved something more than just cheese and pepperoni; it craved something… red. Suddenly, the aroma of blood hit its senses like a train. Without hesitation, the pizza slice followed the scent, until realizing that it came from the students. Stealthily, it made its way through the cafeteria to the tray of pizza slices. Its crusty exterior blended in among the other pizzas ready for grabs, but it was impossible to not notice the beauty of this particular slice. Its crust, once mundane and unremarkable, now gleamed with an otherworldly sheen. Each pepperoni, perfectly positioned and glistening with promises of tastiness. And that's not even mentioning the cheese, swirling in mesmerizing patterns that seemed to dance beneath the fluorescent lights of the cafeteria. It took a lot of willpower to lay still and not just lunge at any of the passing students. Eventually, a student absentmindedly grabbed the slice, not even noticing that it had already been bitten into.

The slice waited patiently. As the unsuspecting student sat down and took a bite, expecting the familiar taste of pizza, they instead heard a crunch followed by a sharp pain. "Ow!" they exclaimed, spitting out something hard. To their horror, they realized that it was a tooth. Meanwhile, the pizza grasped the chance. It latched onto the wound in the student's mouth, its rock-hard crust acting like a suction cup as it began to suck blood. The student recoiled in shock and pain, unable to understand what was happening as the vampire pizza was stuck to their mouth, feeding on their blood and growing stronger with each gulp. Its cheese-veins surged with power.

With a final slurp, the pizza finally dropped as the student clutched their injured mouth in shock. The vampire-pizza retreated into the shadows, its hunger momentarily sated. And so, with a wicked gleam in its pepperoni-studded eyes, the vampire pizza disappeared. Ready to hunt and feed more, leaving behind a trail of chaos and confusion.

Anything was possible.
