The next day, after waking up, I noticed that…more of my hair had turned white, a strip of it on the other side of my original had lost all pigmentation. the pack had acquired a map of the decommissioned plant, and we were going over it in an empty hallway. "Alright, we don't have much time." Wyatt said. "This is how we sabotage the demolition and stop them."
"It's my responsibility to make sure we're all safe." Willa stated. "We follow my lead."
"This isn't just on you, Willa." I said softly, setting my hand on her arm, my claws gently scratching the silver mark on her shoulder. "I'm here with you too, you're not alone."
"It's a good plan, Willa." Wyatt argued.
"What plan?" Addison asked as she approached.
"We're going after the Moonstone." Wynter told her. "Top secret. You can't tell anyone." Her eyes then widened when she realised what she had done. "Bad wolf! Bad wolf!" Wynter hit the sides of her head with her hands."
"You're going after the Moonstone now?"
"It won't survive the detonation." Wyatt told her.
"Then let me join you. I'm ready to become a wolf."
"If you really are one." Willa countered. Addison grabbed the moonstone case and opened it, only to pause.
"It's gone." She said softly.
"You lost the Moonstone?" I breathed. "Addison…" I stepped closer to her, "Addison, there were only two of those Moonstones saved for outsiders to enter the Pack." I jabbed my finger into her shoulder, "You lost the one that was supposed to be for the Great Alpha."
"Well then give me the other Moonstone." Addison said, holding her hand out. I stepped back, my eyes turning Gold gripping my Moonstone.
"No." I growled at her. Addison sucked in a breath,
"Ok, sorry."
"If you were the Great Alpha, you wouldn't have been so careless." Willa almost snarled.
"No, I don't know know how!" Addison protested.
"Stay out of our amazing hair."
"What's going on here?" A voice demanded. Looking behind Addison, I saw my mother standing stall with a small scowl. "Waverly, come here, I need to talk with you."
"She's not going anywhere with you!" Wynter snarled, causing a collective growl to echo from the pack.
"Ignore her." I said, turning my back on my birth mother. "Let's go, we have to find the Moonstone." I started to lead my pack away from my mother and pushed open the doors of the school, leading us off the ground.
TIMESKIP
We soon found ourselves running through the demolition sight, alarms blaring in our ears. My bones were thrumming with power, the more we wove through the Power Plant, the more I could feel. We soon had lights glaring down on us from all angles and the Z-Patroll surrounding us. "Wolves, freeze where you are!" Dale ordered as he got out of the car. The pack let out a snarl, glaring at the Z-Patrol, creating a loose circle. "You're trespassing Werewolves!" Zed's dad stepped up next to Dale.
"How can we be trespassing on our own land?" Wyatt asked.
"This is Wearwolf territory!" Wynter added.
"I don't know anything about that." Dale argued.
"Because your history is wrong!" I shouted. "All of you are wrong!" My pack and I stepped forward, glaring down Dale and Zevon. We let out a collective snarl, our eyes turning gold.
Willa -
Hear it getting louder, a call for revolution
Yeah, we came for what was ours, it's time for restitution
We'll protect our own, take back the stone
No, human nature cannot hold us down
Waverly -
Stranded at the bottom, but we're more than a whisper
No, we'll never be forgotten
Our blood's thicker than silver, yeah
When worlds collide, it's do or die
So tell me, is it wrong to stand your ground?
Willa and Waverly -
Hear us howl, all or nothing
Fangs are out, we ain't running
Hear us howl, it's all or nothing
Wolves -
Oh, this is a declaration
Oh, of a new generation
It's now or never
We're in this together
We'll fight through the highs and the lows
No, we won't break
We're more than flesh and bone
"Arrest them!" Dale shouted. The Z-Patrol officers used smoke machines to spew silver gas at us. I coughed and whimpered as the officers slapped the cuffs on us. I yelped in pain when the cuffs touched my skin. More silver? How much do these people want to hurt us? "Colloidal Silver, that'll tame those beasts." My eyes widened as I stared at him. Dale avoided looking in my direction. The officers headed us into a group, out of the way of the destruction.
"Demo time!" Zevon shouted, "Everybody clear out!"
"I've failed you." Willa stated, "They'll destroy the Moonstone, they'll destroy us."
"This is my fault." I whispered, "I should have built more trust with them." I squeezed my eyes shut. "They wouldn't know about the Silver because of me!"
"It's not your fault." Willa assured, pressing her head into mine, "Baby, none of this is your fault."
"No!" A voice shouted.
"Addison?" Dale and Zevon chorused. Willa and I turned and looked at the white-haired girl as she approached with the Cheer Squad. I also saw the Zombies behind them…and the school gathering as well.
Addison -
The world has gone crazy
And no one seems to listen
Gotta step in, no more maybes
And stop the demolition
Is it hope or fear? Look in the mirror
Everything we built is coming down
Eliza -
No more hesitation
It's time we start to realize
With all this separation
Silence is still taking sides
So use your voice, make a choice
And tell me, are you standing with the crowd?
Cheer Squad and Zombies -
Oh, this is a declaration
Oh, of a new generation
It's now or never
We're in this together
We'll fight through the highs and the lows
No, we won't break
We're more than flesh and bone
Ay-e-ay-e-ay-ay-ay
We say no more bad blood
No more bad blood
Ay-e-ay-e-ay-ay-ay
No way they can stop us
No, they can't stop us
Ay-e-ay-e-ay-ay-ay
We say no more bad blood
No more bad blood
Ay-e-ay-e-ay-ay-ay
No way they can stop us
No, they can't stop us
Zed -
History changes, but we lost the pages we wrote
When you lose direction
Can't see the reflection you know
We came from the bottom then became the problem
Now everything's out of control
So hey, are you with me?
Humans and Zombies -
Let's go!
Oh, this is a declaration
Oh, of a new generation
It's now or never
We're in this together
We'll fight through the highs and the lows
No, we won't break
We're more than flesh and bone
Zed approached his father. "You've got to stop the demolition, Dad." He pleaded. "I know how hard you worked to get this job. But, if it's going to hurt the Werewolves, you have to stop it. You know Waverly." Zed looked back at me, prompting my eyes to widen a little before he turned back to his dad. "She's like family…please…"
"You're right…" Zevon admitted after a moment. "And Addison's right…shut it down, stop the detonation." He then turned to the pack. "Tomorrow, when it's safe, we'll find what you're looking for. But right now, you can all go home." The shackles on my wrists were unlocked and taken off, and I threw my head back in a celebratory howl. The demolition team, Z-Patrol, and all the teenagers filtered out of the Power Plant, the pale moon high in the sky. My arm was looped tightly around Willa's, whispering happily about the prospect of finding the Moonstone. With every step I took away from the Power Plant, I felt something trying to pull me back.
"Hey." Zed jogged forward to talk to Addison, who grinned up at her boyfriend.
"We did it, we stopped the demo!" Addison said happily. She then looked up to see her boyfriend wasn't smiling. "What's wrong?"
"Addison…" Zed, Bree and Addison stopped walling, causing the pack to slow also. "I'm going to lose the election…which means I can't take you to Prawn."
"That's ok, Zed." Addison assured. "We can not go to the Prawn together." Zed then pulled something out of his back pocket…the Great Alpha's Moonstone. "He found it!" Addison hugged her boyfriend tightly. "Thank you." Zed didn't hug back. "What?"
"I took it." Zed admitted. "I stole it when you weren't looking…"
"I thought I lost it. I questioned myself."
"Addison, I'm sorry. I was afraid that if you turned into a wolf, I'd lose you."
"You don't get to make that choice for me."
"But a werewolf?"
"I finally find where I belong and you try to steal that from me? Why would I ever go to the Prawn with you after what you did?" Addison stepped away and put on the Moonstone. I could see the faint glow of it, and then she whipped around, hands raised…but she was still human. I looked down. "Am I?"
"You're beautiful, Addie." Bree said, setting her hand on the white-haired girls arm. "But in the same beautiful that you've always been."
"She's not a Wearwolf." Wyatt said shakily.
"Oh my gosh, Boss!" A Zombie cried, running up to Zevon. "We've got a problem! The remote shorted out, and now the detonation timer is running."
"Well shut it off!" Zevon ordered.
"I can't!"
"No…" I breathed. I ripped myself from Willa's arm and ran forward. "No, no, no!" I froze…when Seabrook Power lit up in flames, the building collapsing in on itself.
"What have they done?" Willa questioned lowly. Instantly I felt weak. I whined, gripping my Pendant tight as I sunk to my knees. I let out more whimpers of pain, curling in on myself. Hot tears fell down my cheeks…we were done for…our pack was going to fall…and it was all my fault.
