"So, you understand how the procedure will work?" Adora nodded. "Yeah. I lay down, you and the other sorcerers do the runes thing, and the magic'll leave," Castaspella hummed. "Good. Well, we'll get you prepped now, so when the moons align tonight, we'll be able to hit it in one," Adora nodded, sitting on one of the chairs by the fountain. "I'll warn you now, Adora. It'll hurt," The blonde snorted. "What, like the heart in the first place?" She retorted. Castaspella paused. "Uh... yes, actually," Adora couldn't help but roll her eyes. "I managed the first two times, I'll manage again," Castaspella drew a rune in the air, watching silently as it erupted into flames, illuminating the area and warming the women. "Hear me well. When I tell you that it'll hurt, it'll be like no pain you've experienced before. Do you understand?" Adora cleared her throat, shifting softly. "I've been through childbirth unmedicated?" Not entirely sure why she'd posed it as a question, Adora felt her face contort into a frown.
"Worse," Castaspella spoke. Adora's heart did something in her chest, and she didn't like it. "When we, rather, other Mystacor sorcerers, have done this in the past to overcharged Princesses, they were put under a sleep spell. It made the extraction much smoother and pain-free. I would strongly recommend you do this too," Adora's hands subconsciously moved to her stomach. "Look, Catra and I just want a baby. I'll do anything to get rid of this stupid magic," To emphasise her point, Adora clenched her fist tightly, watching as it lit up a soft golden colour. Castaspella only nodded. "Well, we'll do whatever we can to ensure minimal damage to you,"
The magic dissipated. "The what now? What damage?" She narrowed her eyes. Castaspella's brow creased. "Well... you didn't think it would be as simple as unplugging the sink and letting the magic drain, did you?" Adora winced. "Kinda," She admitted. Castaspella shook her head. "Far from it. We'll have to fight to suck the excess magic out of your body, without disturbing the magic that was there from before the heart," Adora's voice ran before her brain did. "Would that be a bad thing?" Castaspella stared at her for a few moments, opening and closing her mouth like a fish gaping for water. "Have you seen Glimmer? When she depleted her magic before?" Adora nodded. "Yeah, she'd go all tired and pass out," Castaspella nodded. "Right, and all she did was use her available supply. What do you think would happen if she used everything her body had?" Adora began to chew her cuticle. "I'm not entirely sure I wanna know," She admitted.
Castaspella nodded. The two women sat there for a while, just absorbing the peace and tranquillity of the magical gardens. Even that couldn't stop her wild brain from spewing insane theories, but theories her deprived anxiety just latched onto. "Because Vi is magic," Adora began slowly. Castaspella hummed. "Would... would she have absorbed some of my magic too?" Castaspella tilted her head in consideration. "I'm going to be honest, I have no idea. Up until very recently, short of Angella's magic abilities, we didn't even have a suspicion that Glim had inherited some of my brother's abilities," Adora shook her head. "No, not that. She's definitely taken some of my She-Ra magic, I know that. I see it when she has a tantrum and her eyes glow," She dismissed. "I mean from the Heart," Castaspella frowned. "How do you mean? Like... if a sponge is near water, it takes some moisture?" Adora ran the analogy in her head. "Sort of,"
Castaspella shook her head. "No. Magic, whilst it can work like that, doesn't unless it's manipulated to do so," Adora slumped softly. "She will be powerful, and her magic and connection to She-Ra will only grow as she grows older, but no, she won't have any magic from the Heart, because when you were pregnant, you didn't have any magic from the Heart," Adora pretended not to be relieved that her little seed won't make it. The Heart's power is way too strong for her, let alone a child.
It's better this way.
Catra left the morning of the ceremony, having delayed the trip as long as she could. "You sure you're gonna be ok?" She'd asked for the fifth time that morning. Adora stood on the docks, holding Violet's hand tightly. "I promise," She said. "Bye, mom! Tell Merlea I said hi!" Catra had chuckled loudly as she waved. "Will do! Look after your mom for me, ok? I need Vi-Ra for this!"
While she was undergoing the procedure and recovering afterwards, Adora would be in the Brightmoon infirmary/her old bedroom while Violet moved between Bow and Glimmers, being kept company by their little girl Angelle, and Scorpia and Perfuma's in Plumeria. Most of the alliance, to be fair, had settled down and married. Only three of them had had children, two if you discount Adora. After her was Mermista and Sea Hawk's beautiful girl Merlea, whom Violet had taken an immediate liking to, despite being two and a half years older. A year after them was Glimmer and Bow's surprise baby Angelle. Entrapta wanted children but didn't want to have children. When she went on to explain the process of scientifically implanting her DNA in an incubator tube along with Hordak's DNA and then implanting it into a specially designed robot of her creation to then wait nine months, where the robot would be cut open by her medical team to give her the baby. The robot would then go into hibernation until Entrapta was ready for another one. Over her biscuit, Glimmer had said, "Oh, so surrogacy?" Entrapta seemed at a loss for words until Perfuma kindly explained what that was, seeing as that's what she and Scorpia were doing.
The robot idea was scrapped, and Entrapta began to look for surrogates.
But aside from all of that. Violet would be frequenting her time between Bow and Glimmers and Perfuma's castle in Plumeria.
When Adora laid down on the bed, runes painted all over her skin and an IV in her arm, she felt the most anxious she'd ever been. "You ok?" Bow was by her shoulder, seeing as he was, besides Entrpta, the only one who wasn't going to be affected by the power surge. Initially, Adora had wanted Bow to stay with Glimmer by the Moonstone so she wasn't alone, but Micah had stepped in and strongly suggested that Bow stay with Adora to keep her company whilst he stayed with Glimmer.
The easy bit was taking it out of her body. The hard bit was when it all rushed to the Moonstone, and Glimmer had to distribute it out to the other runestones properly. At least that's what Adora thought. Everyone else seemed to think she had a harder job. "Right, Adora. Are we ready?" Castaspella asked by her side, already warming her hands in runes. Adora glanced once at Bow. "If it all goes wrong-"
"-which it won't," Bow interrupted. Adora huffed. "If it does, there's a letter in my drawer for Catra and what to do with Vi. Give it to her?" Bow opened his mouth but paused. "Fine. I will. But nothing's gonna happen, I promise," He glanced at Castaspella, who nodded determinedly. "I can't ever guarantee anything, but there's a very high chance you'll be fine," She paused. "Weak for several days, but fine," Adora turned her gaze to the ceiling with a heavy sigh.
"I'm ready then,"
