I am back! Sorry it took so long, one of my stories I had a bit of writers block on and took a step away from that story. While I was trying to work through the writers block for that story I wrote a one-shot that I'm proud of, It's called "Hala Potter the Moon Goddess" it's in my oneshot Heaven story if anyone wants to read it.
I warn you that it has some serious talk about something triggering so please read the warning above the story.
Anyway, I've gotten a DM from someone who said they didn't like how I answered reviews and said it was me just "Padding my chapters." I would just like to address that real fast, I'll be doing the same in my other stories.
I'm going to say the same thing I said in the response, I do the responding to my reviews in my stories because it helps me to answer questions that a lot of you might have, this way I don't have to try to respond to the same question over and over again in privet dms.
Secondly, Me responding to reviews helps me build a better reader/writer bond, I've seen people say that they were happy I chose to respond to their reviews in my stories before. This helps build a better bond so I like to do this.
I figured this was a better way to do things instead of posting the story and needing to respond to a million different reviews about the same thing, which would cause me to get burnt out and then lose interest in the story.
Anyways enough talk let's start responding to your reviews now, shall we?
WildWulfChild chapter 17 . Mar 16
Cujo Bigass Dog versus Fluffy the three-headed dog
Me: Cujo and Fluffy would be super good friends for sure
Onto the story!
Crystal was finally getting into the groove of things, she spent her days going to class and hanging out with Susan or Cedric with the twins. She spent her nights getting the little sleep she needed before either exploring, playing with fluffy, or fighting crime in London.
Tonight was one of the nights she was out protecting the innocent people of the world, she just finished saving her seventh person of the night when she heard someone call out for her. Looking around she spotted a woman flanked by two men, all three were wearing robes so she assumed the three were part of the magical world.
She hesitated before flying over, as she was doing so she used the time it took to get a better look at the three.
The woman had light pale skin with a few frown lines, and her hair was the same color as Susan's but this lady had gray hair spread throughout the red, her hair was cut short, it didn't go past her chin but the haircut suited the stern-looking woman.
The woman's eyes were a steal colored blue, Crystal saw a never-ending quest to fight for justice in the woman's eyes, one of her eyes was hidden behind a monocle. From just looking at her, Crystal realized that this woman was probably Amelia Bones, the Head of the DMLE and Susan's aunt.
That meant that the other two wizards with her were probably aurors, this meant that she had to be careful since she didn't know what they wanted with her. She knew that Susan mentioned that her Aunt would probably want to talk to Saphire Phantom about the muggle ghosts but she didn't think it would be so soon.
She also had no idea what Madam Bones would talk to her about, it could be any number of things.
"You called?" Crystal smiled to hide her nerves as she got closer to the three magicals, she had to hide that she knew who they were or else they would wonder how she knew.
"Yes, I have a few questions for you, firstly, what do you know about magic," Madam Bones asked, her voice was just as stern as the woman looked to be.
Crystal made sure to look confused, "Well I know that magic exists, I know a ghost princess who can turn into a dragon, her brother can do the same but he's locked up for the moment." Ignoring the looks of shock on the two Aurors behind Madam Bones she continued, "I also know Pandora, yes that Pandora, and I know for a fact that her box is real, it was a real problem when the Box Ghost stole it one time a few years ago, there was a huge mess that had to be cleaned up, but why does this matter?"
Madam Bones coughed into her hand before she spoke, it was clear she was just as surprised as her Aurors behind her were but she was better at hiding it than they were. "What do you know about magic, from living people?"
Crystal hummed and put her hand to her chin to make it look like she was thinking before she acted like she just remembered something, "Does this have anything to do with that strange Alley in the middle of london? The one that looks like there's constantly a renasonce fair going on, I think I heard someone refer to it as Diagon Alley?"
She had to work hard not to let out a giggle when Madam Bones's monocle fell from her eye in her shock.
"You know about Diagon Alley? How the wards should have kept you away?" One of the Aurors behind Madam Bones exclaimed in shock.
Crystal shrugged, "I don't know what you mean by Wards but maybe whatever is meant to keep me away is targeted towards the living?" She smirked when she saw them exchange looks, "If you didn't notice, I'm kinda dead here."
Madam Bones quickly gathered herself and put her monocle back in place, "Yes we had a few questions about ghosts, you see our ghosts are not anything like you."
Crystal tilted her head, and asked despite already knowing, "What do you mean? Also, can I please have your names, I'm assuming you know mine since you called it out to get my attention."
Her words had all three blush slightly, "Ah yes, I am Madam Bones, the director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, or the DMLE for short, the two behind me are Rufus Scrimgeour and Kingsley Shacklebolt, they are both what are known as Aurors, you would call them police officers I believe."
Madam Bones then looked at Crystal sternly before explaining what the ghosts of magicals were like, Crystal acted like this was the first she had heard about something like this.
"Tell me, Madam, have your ghosts ever mentioned something called the Ghost Zone?" Cyrstal asked, finally voicing something that had been nagging at her since she first saw the ghosts at Hogwarts.
"No, what is this Ghost Zone?" Madam Bones inquired.
"The Ghost Zone is an alternate dimension that contains all ghosts and is made of ectoplasm, it's connected to Earth so if anything happens to seriously harm one dimension, something will happen to the other in response," Seeing that the three were listening, Crystal continued, "The Zone is also called the Ghost Rhelm, the Ghost World, and the Ghost Dimension, you see ghosts are made up of ectoplasm and if they do not go to the Ghost Zone every so often they start to get sick."
"Sick?" One of the Aurors, the one that Madam Bones introduced as Kingsley interrupted.
Crystal nodded, "Yes, now normally ghosts are supposed to form in the Ghost Zone when they die as a human but since your ghosts were magical when they were alive perhaps something went wrong on their end, if you wouldn't mind perhaps I could take one of your ghosts to the ghost zone and see if that helps them?"
"Would it help them?" Madam Bones asked and Crystal shrugged in response.
"There's been no known case of a ghost not forming in the zone before now, and no one wanted to find out what would happen if a ghost ever stayed out of the zone for too long, so I can't give any guarantee but I will try my best."
The three Aurors shared a look, seemingly able to communicate with just a glance before Madam Bones nodded to her, "Alright, I'll go up to Hogwarts later today and ask if any of the ghosts there would be willing to try this experiment, I can not force them however."
"I wouldn't ask you to force them, the ghost king might order them back if he believes it can help them but I can't force them, now is this all?" Crystal asked, wanting to get back to helping people.
"We still have things to talk about, however I know that this meeting is not at the right place. You said you know where the alley is, if you could meet us there at noon on wednesday," Crystal quickly cut her off, "I'm sorry, is there any chance we can do this on a weekend, I have school weekdays."
Seeing the looks of bafflement on the Aurors' faces she snorted, "Yes, ghosts have a school too you know, people of all ages die and reform as ghosts."
Madam Bones coughed in her hand again before speaking, "I apologize for not realizing you might be in a ghost school during this time, yes if you can appear in the leaky cauldron around noon on Saturday then that would be wonderful."
Crystal nodded, "I should be able to make it then, I'll see you on saturday."
After that, she quickly flew away and went back to fighting crime and saving lives.
It was now the Saturday after she first spoke with the three magicals in the Alley of Muggle London, Crystal had just given her friends an excuse about wanting to spend some time alone, she said that she wasn't used to so many people and wanted some time to relax by herself. Thankfully, she had some pretty amazing friends who understood that Crystal needed some space and backed off when she asked for time alone.
While Crystal felt a bit bad about lying to her friends, she knew that she hadn't known any of them long enough to trust them with her secret. She might tell them one day in the future but there was no chance that she would tell them anytime soon if she could help it.
Crystal snuck into an empty room that had no pictures or students hanging around before she transformed into Saphire and made her way to the magical alley.
She made sure she was invisible as she flew through the air, she relished the chance to fly during the daytime, normally she only flew in her ghost form at night since she had chores and school she had to do during the day.
As soon as she got to the alley she turned visible, ignoring the way several witches and wizards jumped at the sight of a glowing and flying girl appearing out of nowhere, she made her way into the leaky cauldron to wait for the Aurors for the meeting.
The barman, Tom, got her a butterbeer while she was waiting. She didn't have to wait long before Madam Bones floo'd in with Aurors Scrimgeour and Shacklebolt.
The three made their way over to Crystal and Madam Bones spoke, "Miss Phantom, I am honored to welcome you to Diagon Alley and the leaky cauldron."
Crystal raised an eyebrow, "What's up with the fancy talk Ma'am?"
Auror Scrimgeour spoke up, "After speaking to the Unspeakables we descovered that you are the cousin to the Ghost king you mentioned."
Crystal looked at the three baffled, she knew for a fact that she was not related to Danny, her inheritance test would have revealed if she was. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Yes, we were surprised to discover that we had been speaking to royalty, while you may be royalty of another dimension you still deserve the proper respect-" Crystal couldn't take it anymore and interrupted Madam Bones.
"Why in clockworks name do you think I'm related to Danny?" She asked baffled, "As far as I know we're not related?"
"Our unspeakables discovered that, while you are not related by blood or ectoplasm, you are related by a spirital bond," Madam Bones explained, recognizing that this was news to the young ghost.
In the light of the tavern, Amelia took a closer look at the ghost in front of her and felt her heart sink when she realized just how young the child actually was, she couldn't be any older than her niece was right now.
The ghost's skin was pale, there were no hints that blood flowed under her skin, and her hair was a snowy white that the lights reflected off of. Her eyes were blue, the same shade as sapphires and they seemed to glow with power.
She was wearing some strange muggle outfit that was half black and half white, she had boots and gloves on that went with her strange outfit. Her hair was tied back into a ponytail, Amelia assumed it was to keep it out of her way when fighting.
Amelia swallowed when she realized how thin and short the poor child was, was the poor girl abused in life? If so, did that abuse play a part in her death?
"If I have permission to ask, how old were you when you died?" Amelia questioned before she could think, she had to work to keep her face from dropping when Saphire Phantom's face turned blank.
"I'll forgive you this one time but please remember in the future that it is extreamly rude to ask a ghost anything concerning their death including their age, it is one of the highest offences you can offer for those who live inside the ghost zone," The ghost girl stared at the three Aurors before she sighed.
"I know you didn't mean any harm so I'll answer your question, please remember my words in the future though."
Amelia nodded, "I apologize for offending you, I'll make sure our people know about this."
The ghost nodded before she sighed softly, "I died when I was six, it was an accident."
Scrimgeour spoke up in disbelief, "You're clearly eleven years old though!"
Phantom nodded, "Yes, that's thanks to the ghost known as Clockwork, whenever a child dies before they're an adult they are offered a choice by the ghost to be allowed to continue aging, most take the offer but there are a few who choose to stay the age they were when they died."
The ghost continued speaking, not seeming to realize the horror that was spreading throughout the entire tavern as more and more people started listening and realizing what was going on.
"The ghost king was actually my babysitter and died in the same accident as me, he tried to save me and died in the process," A look of guilt covered the young ghost's face, "I will never forgive myself for getting him killed."
Most of the people in the tavern felt their hearts break when they heard that this child blamed herself for the death of her babysitter, Amelia vowed to do what she could to help the child learn to exist without this guilt bringing her down.
