Tales of Amity Park

Chapter 06: Trick or Treat

It was a cold and dreadful Halloween night, there was not a single cloud to block out the full moon from shining over all of Amity Park making it the perfect night for trick or treating, children dressed as all manner of ghosts, ghoulies and other terrible monsters roamed around the streets and near the park where they could hear the howling of wolves echoing from the dark forest that started in the park at the middle of Amity leading all the way to the city limits where it converted into a vast thick forest housing all kinds of wildlife, streets ran through the middle of the poorly illuminated park which resulted in more than one car accident as deer often leap in front of cars.

From a dark alleyway came out a black-robed person that easily blended among the crowds of fake monsters, a chuckled escape from the black void that composed his face upon seeing a homemade Ectopuss walking down the street in the company of two zombies, this grim reaper knew such merry trio would never occur in the Ghost Zone. Children carelessly ran from street-to-street dodging cars as they busy themselves collecting candy from their neighbors and strangers alike, a few stores and houses left bowls filled with tasty goods at their doors to avoid kids running around their shops with their overly complex costumes or disturbing the residents.

The reaper watched with amusement as even the adults participated in the celebration by dressing up as ghouls or in the case of most women in some sexy form of a ghoul, it had to be the first time the reaper ever saw a sexy zombie parading through town, though none of the adults share the same interest in trick or treating as their younger counterparts, they were more interested in house parties and indulging in the local festivities, the creature took a moment to look through the windows of a bar where he saw more vampires and monsters having drinking contests.

"Reminds me of home… kinda beats the purpose of coming to the human realm if you think about it."- the reaper said as he saw a few kids taking chocolate bars from the bowl at the bar's door. "I do prefer spending these holidays down the border, they have a better understanding of this celebration." The creature added as he walked across the street.

To his left stood a small crowd of zombies drinking behind a van despite having a bar on the other side of the street, further up were more kids dressed as ghosts and witches which seemed to be a popular choice lately. One child, in particular, caught his attention the most, a boy dressed up as a medieval knight holding a cardboard sword with flames painted all over the blade that made him roar out laughing, his ghoulish hand headed over to a candy bowl where he took a chocolate bar before heading down the forest street.

Though the woods were dark and gloomy one could see several bright dots belonging to more children who would eventually be seen running around in their costumes, perhaps it was due to the celebration but a great many kids stopped at the cemetery located in the middle of the forest, tall buildings could still be seen at a distance just above the stone fence, a few residents thought it would be a fun idea to leave their bowls filled with candy on their family tombstones, others made a few tests of courage for the young and the not so young.

The place was vast and antique ranging from the humble tombstones centuries old to very impressive modern mausoleums that assured a comfortable afterlife, rumor said it held all of the deceased inhabitants ever since the town's foundation back in the late 1600s, the founder of Amity Park rested in the center and leaving a flower at his grave was considered a dare among the younger crowds, the sole cemetery was said to be absurdly large and one of the largest in the country. Many questioned why a second graveyard wasn't built rather than just making the original one bigger, perhaps it held some sentimental value or help the local tourism by adding its own flare on death which seemed to work.

"This is the night for frights and scares."- the reaper said as he turned over to a lonely girl who loomed around the corner.

(XXXXXX)

Sam Manson walked down the sidewalk pulling her eyes away from her cell phone and looking over at the tall and most intimidating graveyard stonewall, gargoyles stood defensively every ten or so meters making the girl smile long and wide. The young teenager was a horror-loving freak who enjoyed everything and anything as long as it was brutal, bloody, and gory, from movies to books, even her personal film collection included all of the classics and most popular horror movies along with many foreign films that would make anyone vomit with his brutal content.

Without uttering a single word was that the self-proclaimed goth stood at the graveyard's entrance waiting for her two friends to arrive while gazing over the highly decorated tombstones which were a clear copy of the Mexican celebration "Día de Muertos" or Day of the Death. Sam quickly used her phone to take several pictures though couldn't help but feel most uneasy due to the loneliness of the place despite the heavy decoration, there were hardly any visitors. From what Sam had learned from her mother who knew a few women who work at City Hall was that the city wanted to create its own Day of the Death celebration and draw in more tourism, but it was a partial success.

She could hear the music from the costume parade become dimmer with each passing second, as far as she knew the parade would have ended up at the cemetery where a large party would take place but apparently, some religious group raise hell to prevent this "blasphemy" from occurring and now the parade would carry on to another location though the goth didn't bother in finding out where her only desire was to explore the graveyard at night.

"I'm gonna suck…"- A voice whispered directly into Sam's ear making her jump as she let out a scream. "…Your blood"- the voice carried on followed by a burst of evil laughter.

"Danny, you idiot!"- Sam cursed out at her longtime friend, Danny Fenton. "Nice count Suckula costume."- the girl sneered.

Her purple eyes scanned over the young raven-haired boy who stood before her with a bemused smile, the grin grew as she saw her best friend dressed in long black boots that he might have "borrowed" from his older sister, followed by dark pants that he plastered a jack-o-lantern over the butt, a white button shirt with a red vest and more notably was the long black cape with a red interior composed his costume, his already pale skin had to be the finishing touch to his vampiric outfit. Sam couldn't help but giggled as Danny opened his jaws showing a pair of plastic fangs while emulating a vampire pose.

It was then that she noticed a second figure emerging from behind Danny, two long wolf-like ears were the first thing she noticed as Tucker Foley popped out growling and snarling which came out more as a comedic stand rather than a threatening pose. Sam couldn't help but compare both boys after seeing Tucker's poor attempt at a werewolf costume, it was rather clear that Danny had put much thought into his vampire costume while their mutual friend put very little effort. Other than the wolf ears and plastic claws, there was little imagination to the suit itself, just a pair of ripped jeans followed by an old dirty equally torn shirt.

"Couldn't you put a little more effort Tucker?"- Sam said sure that Tucker had spent all his money on a new PDA.

"And what are you supposed to be?"- the dark-skinned boy asked.

"It's obvious I'm a witch"- Sam replied with a smirk tapping her wide-brim hat.

Both boys looked over at the girl wondering what part of her costume belonged to that of a witch other than the pointy dark purple hat, Sam was dressed in a black skin-tight leather leotard with what seemed to be a corset followed by painfully looking black high heels, a magic wand on her hand and a pumpkin bucket on the other, the two boys were almost sure there were no witches dressed in such a scandalous manner anywhere. Sam growled as she could feel their mockery.

"That looks like a BDSM costume if I ever saw one"- Danny paid Sam back with a joke of his own making the girl growl.

"Have you been to the costume shop lately?"- Sam asked defensively while pointing a finger over at the duo. The girl ranted for a while minute about all girl costumes having the word sexy or slutty, she couldn't fathom the idea of a sexy and slutty zombie.

"So… remind me again why the hell are we at the cemetery?"- Danny asked as he stared at the iron gates neatly decorated with candles and other Halloween paraphernalia. His gaze quickly turned back to the parade just a few blocks down. "Can't we just go back to where it's actually fun?"- the boy added as he was forced to follow Sam into the cemetery.

"Come on, Danny. It's the one time of the year that city hall opens the cemetery at night!"- Sam Manson replied with bemusement, almost jumping on her spot.

"And why do we want to do that?!"- Danny retorted slightly louder than he intended to. "Besides aren't we a little old to be trick or treating… I mean we're already fourteen!"- The boy added with a frown.

"Don't say that, dude! It's sacrilege."- the dark-skinned boy added as he took hold of his best friend's shoulders and shook him momentarily. "Besides, I heard that Dash is hosting a huge Halloween party at the old Vlad manor, heard he's gonna hand out fine ass candy, like Belgium chocolate." Tucker added, his mouth already watering up.

"So, we're gonna crush his party"- Sam added pumping up her fist.

Danny sighed as he recalled the many tall tales and legends that roamed around Amity Park cemetery ranging from the random ghost sighting to hearing voices in the dark, but there was one peculiar rumor which circled around the old Vladimir Manor, the place had been abandoned for nearly a century and yet word on the street was that every year around midnight someone would host a party and handout all manner of expensive candy, the sweetest of all chocolate and the most mouthwatering caramel to ever grace child's palate. Of course, no one really ever went there saved for a handful of dumb kids which Danny couldn't help but associate with as he and his friends were heading there.

It wasn't the first time that someone hosted a party at the old manor, getting people to make the walk up the steep hill after treading across a lonely and dark cemetery was a completely different matter. Tucker commented on how just the previous year a group of frat boys from Amity Park university hosted a party at the manor that saw all manner and forms of debauchery, word on the street was that not everyone came back.

"Yeah-yeah. You can't believe everything you hear Tucker"- Sam interjected as she took a photograph of a well-decorated tombstone. "I heard that Dash Baxter had his dad hire a bunch of naked big titty women to walk around the manor giving away hundred-dollar chocolate bars directly from Zanzibar."- the goth mocked catching the boys' attention.

Tucker was stunned, even dumbfounded upon first hearing that rumor in the school bathroom earlier that week, but eventually dismissed it as a hoax orchestrated by the football team who like to prank their fellow students when they weren't actively bullying them. Sam rolled her eyes as she listened to her friends while they commented on how awesome it would be if there really were naked women at the old manor, the idea of there being an "adult" Halloween party suddenly crossed their minds casting away any doubts and fear, though the goth was pleased to see her friends more willing to follow her, she didn't like their reasons.

Sam was by no means interested in going to a Halloween party filled with snotty teens and adults dressed in silly costumes, she wanted to explore the old manor under the pale moon as she secretly wished for a zombie outbreak making it the perfect night. Little by little, darkness took over forcing the teens to use their cellphone lights to illuminate their path as the candles that decorated the tombstones became lesser with each step the trio took further into the cemetery reminding Sam and her friends of how vastly large the place is, by some account, it was a considered a city within a city, nearly eight hundred acres but it was more than rows of tombstones and mausoleums.

"Well… looks like no one's home"- Sam jokingly stated as she looked at the dark and empty manor while panting for breath after climbing the steep stone steps wondering why anyone would build a house so uphill.

The view without a single doubt was beyond spectacular but couldn't see herself walking up the steps every day. Their eyes rested over a small courtyard with overgrown grass and even more gravestones and a few statues of angels and other hooded figures, a mausoleum to the far right, most headstones dated from the 1600 hundreds allowing the kids to assume this was the first part of the graveyard. The manor in itself was wonderous, two stories high though large, the trio stood in silence before the double door that had seen better days.

(XXXXX)

With a heavy heart was that Danny slowly hovered his hand over the door ready to knock but before he had the chance, it slowly opens much to Tucker's dismay as he no longer was interested in the expensive candy or the promise of nude women handing over chocolate bars, the boy wanted to go back to the parade or go trick or treating but Sam, on the other hand, was smiling gleefully as she had been wanting to see the old manor's interior for quite some time now.

The interior was dark and silent without any signs of there ever being a party at all, Danny and Tucker felt their feet weighted a ton as they couldn't move an inch until Sam pushed them in making both boys growl at her, but their expression soon changed to one of wonder and amazement as their flashlights shine all around revealing a large foyer with a double staircase at the back leading to the upper floor, Tucker was the first to spot a large dining table in the middle of the room covered by a modern Halloween theme tablecloth, a faint smile was drawn upon his face once he saw a bowl with fruit punch and several plates filled with all sorts of candy.

"Maybe we got here early?"- Tucker questioned.

"Or we got here too late."- Sam commented slightly worried as she illuminated a liquor bottle by her feet.

"Something's definitely wrong here"- Danny uttered as he moved his light over the entire room.

Danny watched with trepidation at the tables tossed on the floor, the broken chairs followed by large and most intimidating claw marks over the wooden walls that were already partially broken, chief among all his discoveries were large red stains over the floor, walls, and random objects, if he didn't know any better, he would have assumed a fight broke out. It was then that the main door suddenly closed on its own making the trio jump, fear building up as their hearts nearly came out from their mouths.

"I think we should get out of here and call the cops"- Tucker said already shaking in his spot.

"Guys! You're so gullible."- Sam spoke up as she walked up to the only standing table. "This is a game, a haunted house or something. Think about it, a wreak room, blood and monster claw marks all over, and now a door that closes by itself, it's too perfect."- the girl added with bemusement.

"I don't think Dash is smart enough to come up with a haunted house"- Danny said.

Neither of the boys was fully convinced but had to admit that everything played all too well, the rumors at schools and how many older teens were planning to party at the old Vlad manor, now came this destroyed setting, precisely on Halloween, as Sam said, it was just too perfect. The lack of people meant they either arrived too late for the party or too early, yet Sam assured them the real party was elsewhere in the manor, and seeing that they were "locked" inside left them no other option but to explore.

After scrutinizing their surrounding a little further, the trio concluded their best bet was to first explore the left hallway on the ground floor seeing that the staircase on both ends was blocked off by a large closet and other pieces of furniture making it very complicated to reach the upper floor, Sam was even more convinced this was a Halloween theme event upon seeing the door leading to the right hallway was also locked preventing them from going in said direction, at this point, even Danny and Tucker were warming up to the idea of this being some sort of ride or game since they had a preestablished path to follow.

Danny watched with growing amusement at the many boarded-up windows that prevented moonlight from breaching into the manor forcing him and his friends to depend on their cellphone lights, the lack of safety signs or general direction allowed him to assume it was truly an amateur's work but the attention to details were too great to dismiss forcing him to comment on the many blood stains on the wooden walls and slashed walls, too good have been carved in with a tool.

The first room they came across was just as damaged as the foyer, the closet was broken and the clothes scattered around, the bookcase incrusted on the wall next to a large crack as if something or someone had been tossed against it leaving a red stain behind, Sam quickly took pictures wondering if they were supposed to solve some sort of mystery to advance in the game, her eyes scanned over the crack being able to spot pieces of fabric.

Sam's eyes opened wide as she saw a dark figure approaching the kids from behind, Danny quickly noticed her expression and turned around to see a strange grey skinned bold man, the two boys took several steps back as they locked eyes with this strange man, his face was elongated with a pointy nose, two large white fangs protruded from his mouth and had the blackest eyes any of them had ever seen. His hunchbacked figure was in its own way intimidating, blood was dripping down from both the corner of his lips and fingers.

"This is so cool, guys!"- The girl exclaimed as her two friends looked around rather worried. "I can't believe that jackass even hired actors!"- the girl added with a huge toothy smile, her vast knowledge of the occult allowed her to determine it was a vampire that she was staring at.

"If this is all make-belief…"- Danny muttered as the strange actor lifted his chin. "Why do his hands smell like real blood?"- the boy asked narrowing his eyes over the Vampire.

In a swift almost instant move was that the pale man took hold of Danny nearly crushing his throat under a powerful grip, Sam's amusement instantly died down as she and Tucker saw with horror how the stranger lifted their friend off the ground without any sort of effort, a shriek escapes from the goth's lips upon seeing this random act of violence. Danny tried to gasp for air but could feel his lungs contracting, fighting for air, his eyes narrowed down over the two completely lifeless black pits the man had instead of eyes as his nails cut skin.

It was then that Tucker ran up behind the vampire and struck him in the back of the head using a piece of wood that once belonged to a nearby table using all his might breaking the hold the monster had over his friend. The trio watched with dread as the blood flowed out from the wound wondering if it really was an actor who they just attacked, Tucker wasn't in the wrong as he sincerely believed his best friend was in great peril and acted on sheer instinct.

"Run!"- Danny commanded as he tossed a brick that he saw by his feet directly at the monster's head. The trio used that brief momentum to escape from the beast as it shrieked loudly and menacing.

(XXXXXX)

Heavy and desperate panting echoed throughout the hallway followed by even more desperate door rattling as the trio tried their utmost to find some sort of refuge or exit, the trio when silent as they saw heard the monster slowly walking up from a distance, their lights could barely illuminate its hideous form. A burst of sudden evil laughter works its way out of the room Danny was trying to get in forcing him and his two friends to continue their mad dash.

Horrible moaning followed by maniacal laughter broke through the walls announcing more beasts from hell, the trio slammed against the wall at the end of the hallway forcing them to turn all around in a desperate attempt to flee. Windows and doors were barred, Danny shined his cell phone light down the hall where he saw the bald vampire now in the company of four more beasts looking at them with starving eyes, the monsters were drooling over their soon-to-be meal. The light could barely illuminate the creatures almost as if darkness itself enclosed them, but Danny could distinguish their initial pursuer, to his left stood a woman in a 1920s dress, and to her side a man in a tuxedo. Another couple to the right side dressed in a semi-formal manner.

Even in their desperate state, Sam couldn't help but feel most disappointed as her vampiric illusions were crumbling down before her very eyes, she expected vampires to be just like in her favorite movie, Twilight, handsome suave young-looking men that made more than one girl wet their panties, thirsty for love rather than blood, not these horrible malformed hunchbacked balds, insults to humanity with long pointy ears and lunatic gaze. There was nothing remotely sensual or alluring in these monsters. Tucker quickly pointed over to a staircase leading to the upper floor, it was dark and menacing but so far seemed like the best option,

"Come down here, children… you will be safe here…"- a voice resounded making the three kids jump on their spots.

Danny quickly turned his attention downwards allowing his cell phone to light up a second staircase just next to the first one leading to an underground floor, the basement. His heart was beating faster as he found himself strangely attracted to the darkness below, the voice was soothing and tempting as it repeated its demands for them to walk down, it was almost like a gentle touch. The light couldn't break through the darkness without coming closer making Danny gulp down.

"Tell me I'm not the only hearing shit!"- Danny declared as he looked around trying to find the source of the voice.

"There ain't no way I'm going down there."- Tucker said as he moved to the stairs leading up.

It was then that the kids stopped dead on their track upon putting a single foot on the first step, glowing green eyes emerged from the darkness accompanied by the cacophony of death, and painful moaning and groaning that streamed down. Danny turned his gaze into a glare as he saw a group descending in a jittering manner, he could distinguish the once colorful letterman jacket the football team loves to wear, now torn and filthy, just a step behind came the cheerleader team in no better state.

Their clothes were tattered and torn leaving horrible bloody lacerations behind, their skin and eyes had turned to the gray of death, the first thought to cross the kids' minds was the word zombie, but unlike such undead, these creatures had transformed, their faces became elongated with long white fangs protruding from their mouth, all hair had fallen off resembling the other vampires yet these unfortunate souls didn't seem to hold any form of intelligence as all they could do was moan and groan. Danny felt his heart fall all the way down to his stomach as he recognized none other than Paulina Sanchez just behind whom the boy assumed was Dash Baxter.

"Basement?"- Danny uttered as his two companions agreed.

The quartet of vampires stood at the top of the stairs with wicked grins drawn on their faces, looking down with their black lifeless eyes as the trio closed the basement door while the undead cheerleader and football players slowly made their way down the step, Danny knew all too well this is what the undead wanted, for them to go wherever the voice had summoned them. It was then that vampire Dash for a lack of a better word slipped and rolled down the stairs just as the trio closed the door allowing the jock to crash onto it before they could bar it with a metallic locker they saw nearby.

(XXXXXXX)

"Out of the frying pan and into the fire."- Sam declared as she and her two friends were now trapped.

Soft and almost rhymical banging could be heard from beyond the door followed by painful moaning, the kids were sure that it wouldn't take long for the undead to breach into the basement despite the metal door and locker blocking the entrance, even with the teens limited knowledge on vampiric folklore which didn't go beyond a few movies and comics they knew a vampire could be as strong as twenty men and possessed plenty of devilish abilities.

For all they knew, any of the vampires could simply teleport in front of them at any given time or turn into bats or mist and cross the door with little to no effort making their escape a futile attempt. As for the strange bald creatures who were once jocks, Tucker offered the theory of those being ghouls, a sort of zombie mixed with vampiric traits though not nearly as powerful as their full vampire counterparts.

"Great, just what we need… zombie vampires"- Danny declared as he shined his light around to discover an ancient hallway

"Down the corridor, child."- the voice resounded ever so gently within the kid's heads.

Danny sighed as he led his friends down the corridor trying to find any escape route, the trio knew better than be following some otherworldly voice but the door wouldn't hold for long and their options were dimmer with each passing second, the kids wanted to at least find some sort of refuge or shelter until down, then they would make a mad dash across the cemetery. It was through a small window that Sam saw an old abandoned church, if things came to worse that's where they would head, perhaps sacred ground would keep the monster at bay, that is if God is still around.

The trio groaned as the voice instructed them to turn to the left and head further down where the kids found rooms with either garbage bags or broken furniture, there was even an antique water heater along with gang graffiti which made the teens wonder if the local hoodlums ever got out or were now vampire slaves, the voice once again instructed them to head to the end of the corridor where they came across a room with dozens of coffins that now held a different meaning for the kids as they were sure those belonged to the vampires that had attacked the party, in any other occasion would have assumed the graveyard simply used the manor as improvised storage.

Tiredness became apparent as the goth disrespectfully sat down over a coffin while Danny continues looking around only to find that the windows leading back to the graveyard were too small for them, it was a dead end. Tucker then declared how it would have been much better to have gone with Jazz to the Halloween party if she had been invited by the senior students, Danny refused on the ground that his older sister would be babysitting him all night long and then be complaining about not being able to enjoy the party due to him. There was also the off chance that she might be making out with some teen once she got into a festive mood, it was a sight that he didn't want to see.

"I bet you're disappointed."- Tucker teased Sam as she removed her heels and rubbed her sore foot.

"I can't believe Edward would look like that if he were real"- Sam exclaimed as she refused to believe her vampire crush would be a hideous monster rather than the handsome man that he was in the movie. Her stomach twirls as she pictures the bald abomination making out the lead actress.

"Now what?"- Danny asked no one in particular.

"Open the coffin, child."- the voice spoke once more.

Danny didn't like the idea of blindly following some random magic voice that resounded inside their heads, but with time running out and no more options decided to open the coffin, much to his amazement found a set of stairs hidden behind. The teens didn't have a chance to contemplate their choices or seek another way out as the horde of undead broke the door down and rushed across the corridor almost as if they knew where their prey was hiding, Sam quickly shoved her boys into the coffin and closed it behind moments before undead stormed the room, the silence that followed was by far worst than hearing the cacophony of wailing and moaning.

(XXXXXX)

The trio watched in admiration as they walked into what could only be described as catacombs, Tucker didn't waste any time mocking Sam about finally coming to see the legendary catacombs of Amity Park which she had been yearning to be discovered for a few months, as far as any of them were concerned these tunnels were just a local legend as no one had ever laid eyes over them, sudden flashlights took the boys by surprise as Sam couldn't do anything to stop herself from snapping pictures left and right. The headstone and crypts were just too enticing to ignore, some were even dated to the early 1600s making this into the discovery of the century, surely, city hall would make great use of the catacombs.

Danny gulped down as he and his friends gazed over the remains of human bones, so old that all were covered in a thick layer of dust, a root had grown through several remains creating a dreadful scarecrow of bones, and a few skeletons were lying on the side of the coffins or even trying to make a futile attempt of escaping made for a terrible sight, whether the people had been buried alive and tried to escape later on, or their position was the results of grave robbers might never be answered, stranger even were the many blades and even muskets laying on the ground as if the place once had guards or perhaps even a battle took place.

Sam rolled her eyes in frustration as Tucker quickly snatched a cutlass while Danny took hold of a musket commenting on how awesome they were, nevertheless, Sam reminded them that those firearms were old and dangerous to the point they could blow up in their hands, but Danny disregards the goth's warning and primed the musket feeling fascinated by the item. A dust-covered ghoul dressed in Victorian-era clothing walked out of a coffin, his haggard face staring directly at the teens.

"Let's see if this thing still works."- Danny said as he aimed the musket but only a sizzling sound came out from the old rusty musket.

"I told ya that shit won't work!"- Sam declared as the undead slowly made its way toward the trio.

Tired and frustrated from all the running forced Danny to inched closer to the horrible creature and swing the musket like a bat breaking upon connecting with the monster's head. Much to their surprise, the monster fell to the ground and remained unmoving, it was more than clear that it had been without food for so very long. A moment of relief came over the trio which was quickly interrupted by the moaning of the undead, they broke through the coffin or were most likely led in by a vampire who knew about the entrance.

"Don't linger, children, come here."- the voice resounded inside the kids' heads.

All three jumped on their spots upon hearing the voice stronger than before, louder and more demanding despite its gentle approach, Sam was sure they were closer to the source hence why it sounded louder and clearer. Soon the trio found themselves marching down the many corridors trying their best to ignore the dozens of coffins and dusty skeletons, but above all the few ghouls that were left forgotten by their brethren, clearly, these lost souls were the bottom feeders who were forgotten by their masters.

"We better hurry before those Nosferatu guys and ghouls catch up to us."- the goth said earning a puzzled look from both boys. "Nosferatu… the living undead… fucking vampires."- the girl continued.

"Why didn't you say that?"- Danny replied.

"Because I refuse to accept those horrible bald abominations are real vampires, they gotta be some sort of lower-class subspecies."- the girl said with clear frustration in her voice. "Real vampires are cool, handsome, and awesome, like Edward from Twilight."- she added with a dreamy voice.

"And the motherfucker shines under the sun rather than bursting out in flames."- Tucker sneered making Danny chuckle and Sam groan.

Sam was the first to notice they were being followed by the Nosferatu, glowing red eyes gleamed through the darkness forcing the teens to follow a very specific path to avoid stumbling across them in the dark, their cell phone lights couldn't break too far in. Danny sighed as he recalled seeing the once beautiful Paulina Sanchez reduced to such an animalistic version of herself, though he didn't mind Dash all that much, in fact, other than being bald and grayish, didn't stray too far from his regular demeanor.

The trio suddenly stopped as they entered into a dark void, their rocky catacomb scenario suddenly transformed as they walked into a large opening that made them all gasp in unison, it was pitched black and the fear of perhaps falling down a pit became greater but their cellphone lights could barely illuminate a wall at the far right, the light was bright enough to allowed them to admire the smooth stone walls and pillars, only a creature of the night could transverse this underground lair.

"This isn't your regular darkness… this is advance darkness."- Tucker exclaimed.

A light could be seen at the end of what the kids assumed to be a great hall given the stone walls, highly decorated pillars, and unkempt floor that reminded them of a medieval castle, Sam couldn't help but wonder who built this place and for what purpose. The idea of a vampire race ruling over Amity Park from their underground palace during their early years followed by a devasting war that forced the undead into hiding was great, Sam wanted to explore a bit more but looking back at the glowing red eyes in the dark dismissed such an idea. At the very least, the sounds of the ghouls had vanished making them wonder if their kind wasn't allowed in the underground palace.

Soon the teens found themselves standing at the foot of a set of stairs leading to a large wooden door, torches suddenly lit up startling the kids as they looked around. There was a mighty stone wall standing before them, so tall that it reached the cavern's roof, and intimidating stone statues of medieval knights stood guard at the entrance. The trio turned around and much to their horror found they were surrounded by the vampires and their ghoulish slaves, each one with a mocking grin drawn on their hideous faces despite their bodies being partially hidden by the dark. The large wooden door slowly creaked open.

"Come on in. Welcome"- the voice invited.

(XXXXX)

Torches lit the room allowing the kids to gaze in admiration at the massive room as they finally turned their cell phone lights off no longer needing its light, the room was tall and wide with a clear gothic design, and stone gargles could be seen on the walls though the kids felt they could come to life at any moment, the first thing to notice was the two very long dinner tables at the sides, Sam wrinkled her nose in disgust as she laid eyes over the rotting meat and spilled blood both on the tables and the floor. Even Tucker with his love for meat couldn't help but gag, the three suddenly stopped as they watched with horror at the half-eaten corpse of a young girl, most of her torso had gone missing.

Danny dreadfully looked over a strange statue of a nude woman holding a sword with a slight tilt to the front, the stone blade in itself was covered in dry blood, its purpose was quite evident upon setting eyes over the platter underneath the hilt. It was then that the teens came to realize they were once again surrounded by vampires though now thanks to the light could count up to fifteen of these most disgusting abominations followed by little more than thirty of their undead slaves, nevertheless, the only way Danny and his friends could tell apart the vampires was due to their clothing.

"Welcome, children."- the voice said though this time didn't resound inside their heads but at the end of the room.

The teens then turned their attention to the far end of the room where they saw a man sitting on a vast and most terrible throne composed of bones and skulls, a skull filled with blood rested on his hand as he stood up showing all his glory to the vampires who snarled like animals. The master vampire floated above the floor allowing for his white-colored cape to wave as he moved forward, the trio found his attires unusual, perhaps even strange. Black riding boots followed by white colored pants and a skin-tight shirt covered his legs and torso, and a pair of black gloves did the same for his hands, stranger even was the blue skin and hair combed upwards resembling a pair of horns but the most intimidating feature had to be his blood red eyes.

"Damn it!"- Sam declared forcing everyone including the master vampire to look over at her. "I thought that at least he was going look like Edward."- the girl uttered.

"I am Lord Plasmius, surely, you know what we are"- the vampire lord expressed while spreading his arms and hovering up high.

"Let me guess, a bunch of cannibal freaks."- Danny responded with a mocking tone.

"Courageous one, aren't you?"- Lord Plasmius mockingly spoke. "But you are not completely wrong. It is so hard to come across a decent meal in this era, virgin blood has become a commodity nowadays, one that I can barely afford."- the vampire added.

"God damn it! What's with people and fucking virginity?"- Sam asked most annoyed.

"We don't use the G word around here," Plasmius said with a mocking grin.

Before any of the teens could utter a single word was that Plasmius lifted Danny into the air using nothing more than the power of his mind and sheer will, the boy looked directly into the two red voids the monster had for eyes but gasped in utter disgust as the beast sniffed his hair and work his way down to his neck, even licked the boy's cheek while exclaiming how exquisite he is. All three teens looked at him with the highest of revulsion which made the vampire lord laugh out loud, it was then that he noticed his prey was holding a tube, the undead shrieked for a moment as Danny attacked him with a pepper spray, yet the pain didn't last for more than a few seconds.

Danny opened his eyes in absolute horror as Plasmius let go of him showing a wicked smile as he went down, the boy didn't even feel as the statue's sword impaled him. Sam and Tucker gasped as they saw their best friend with a stone sword going directly through his belly just below the ribcage, the vampiric entourage cheered and clapped sneering as the young boy gasp for air before his body went completely limp. The goth was then magically lifted off the ground and tossed to the wall leaving a red stain as she fell to the ground, Tucker met with the same fate though on the opposite side of the room. Plasmius then slowly landed on the ground.

"Bleed them and serve my dinner at once."- the vampire lord ordered.

The vampire was almost drooling over the idea of having fresh virgin blood, one that he hadn't enjoyed in many years. It was then that he saw a flying torso that once belonged to one of his vampiric servants going across the room, Plasmius shifted his attention to the left from where the body had come from. Thick and terrible tentacles crawled out from the dark wrapping around several ghouls and squishing their already wreaked bodies, the vampires quickly moved away yet their lord was the first to see these weren't tentacles but plant roots as colorful flowers suddenly bloomed. Sam crawled out from the dark, her legs split into multiple parts that had converted into thick tree roots, her eyes now glowing green.

A sudden howling finally forced the vampire lord to stand up only to witness another of his fellow vampire walking away without his arms, a second undead crawled towards him with a massive slash going over her face and left eye, the kind of wound that would have sent any human to an early grave. It was then that he saw a gigantic bipedal wolf with the blackest fur emerge from the dark, a severed arm in his snout, growling menacingly. Little by little the vampires rallied closer to their master wondering what manner of creatures these were.

Plasmius clenched his fist as he looked over at Danny who floated upwards freeing himself from the stone sword that had crossed his body, not a drop of blood to be seen anywhere. The boy flew in the air allowing the vampires to see how the hole in his belly closed leaving not a trace of it ever being there, a mocking grin drawn on his face, both eyes glowing green. The undead hissed and snarled at the monsters that they had led inside their secret palace.

"Boo"- Danny mockingly exclaimed.

"What are you?! monsters? Demons?!"- the vampire lord demanded to know, he had to admit there was a certain pleasure in being able to feel fear for the first time in many centuries.

"First time seeing a Lisovik? Well, a plant monster." Danny said pointing over to Sam whose hair had turned green with colorful flowers, roots that served as tentacles growing from her arms. "But surely you've heard of a werewolf."- the boy continued now pointing over to Tucker in his animalistic form.

"And you? You're not one of us, monster!"- Plasmius declared.

"Monster?!"- Danny replied clearly offended. "I guess what my teacher said is true, monster is a relative term… for a canary, a cat is a monster, and for you, I'm a monster."- Danny let out a soft mocking growl at the end of his sentence.

Almost as if on cue was that Sam used her long roots as a terrible whip, cutting ghouls like a hot knife on butter while wrapping a few others crushing their bodies like a cherry and leaving a trail of rotten blood to flow out. The vampires shrieked and hissed as they rushed towards the young girl who mocking smiled at him, a female undead leaped into the air quickly transforming into a horrible malformed humanoid bat, but even this wretched figure was no matched for the plant girl who pulled her wings with fair ease before wrapping the creature unto her branches.

It was then that Tucker howled so loud that for a moment Plasmius thought the palace was shaking, the werewolf rushed snarling like a rapid animal before mauling a nearby vampire, chewing his black heart out after tearing his entire torso in a matter of seconds. The initial scare vanished away from the other vampires who refused to leave their position on top of the food chain, Danny watched with glee as one Nosferatu as Sam nicknamed them flew directly at Tucker showing long fangs while putting out his sharp claws only to be slammed on the ground, his head crushed under a heavy paw which splattered his brain matter.

Dash Baxter and his ghoulish entourage of gray-skinned jocks marched towards Sam as fast as their legs could allow them to, though it didn't amount to more than a snail's pace given their undead statues, strange moaning escape from their purpled colored lips as they all in unison put their hands up front, their unsynchronized eyes looked over to the goth who sighed for a moment as she casually wrapped a nearby stone gargoyle with her long roots, the half breed braindead ghouls looked up as the stone statue came flying directly to them turning a great many into nothing more than a disgusting puddle of blood.

The plant girl then noticed Paulina Sanchez trying to bite at the base roots which made the goth raise a sarcastic eyebrow, there was a certain pleasure in ripping the cheerleader's legs and arms before leaving her amputated torso over an empty plant pot, almost like a sick decoration. Danny twisted his lips in disapproval upon seeing Paulina turn into part of the decoration, her head simply moving side to side trying to understand why she couldn't move anymore. Sam bemusedly shrugged her shoulders while smiling ever so cruelly as she had been wanting to do such action for a very long time.

"Die!"- Plasmius screamed as he leaped directly toward Danny.

His jaws opened abnormally wide showing a pair of long and frightful fangs followed by long sharp claws that he put up front no different from a pouncing lion, and yet, there was not the slightest hint of fear in Danny's face. The master vampire passed right through the teenager who remained in his floating position unharmed, it was the first time in all of Plasmius' existence that he felt such fury, the vampire charged towards the smaller child using his massive claws, slashing with all his strength but each strike simply went through without causing any sort of damaged almost as if he were attacking the air itself which further infuriated the undead.

Plasmius stared at the mocking grin Danny had plastered across his face, daring him to attack again, taunting him, and challenging his power. The vampire hissed as his eyes glowed red, trying to penetrate the teenager's mind but found himself in front a of solid wall, before even realizing it, Danny was mere inches away his fist pulled back, Plasmius had rarely ever felt such pain as his face was pulled back after being struck by the boy and his twig-like arms, a second punched sent him flying directly to a long table. His vision blurred for a moment but as it cleared came to see one of his familiars crawling away only to be yanked back by a root that behave more like a giant tentacle.

The master vampire quickly used his magic to teleport near the roof as he felt Danny coming down, just as he predicted the boy had slammed his feet to where he was lying down previously, and a plum of dust was left behind. His eyes quickly scanned his surroundings, the werewolf was making quick work of two more vampires whom he ripped apart like insects leaving their entrails spread across the floor before turning his attention over to the ghouls who despite their mental state knew better than to linger around, several vampires were swatted away as they leaped towards the plant girl who used her long roots as a whip. The dusty floor was now covered in huge amounts of blood.

"Whacha looking at?"- Danny muttered directly to Plasmius's ear.

"What are you?!"- the vampire demanded to know after teleporting several meters away, fear growing within him.

"Depends on who you asked but people around say I'm a ghost"- the boy replied his eyes glowing green followed by a dark aura that surrounded his very being.

"Ghosts aren't real!"- Plasmius declared as he used his telekinetic abilities to send the swords decorating the hall directly to Danny, but as expected, they all went through without leaving a scratch behind.

"That's rich coming from a creature that shouldn't exist either"- Danny taunted.

The vampire glued his eyes over the young boy trying to ignore the horrifying screams that filled the great hall, the same bellowing that he so enjoyed whenever it was either dinner time or when he led a hunt over Amity Park, though that had been many years ago, these were not the screaming of humans but that of his own kin being butchered by monsters. Plasmius had to admit to enjoying the irony in the matter as he expected his last moments on earth to be at the hands of a human, a brave hero sent by the church with a blessed sword, and yet, the cause of his demise was a monster with the face of an angel, one that he didn't believe even existed.

It was then that his attention was drawn towards a green light gathering around the teen's palm, something that he had never seen before, the vampire was suddenly struck by the hottest bolt of energy that he had ever felt, half his face was melted away leaving him half blind, Plasmius screamed in pain as his healing magic was unresponsive, the wound was already cauterized but it wasn't healing as it should, the creature had been stab, burned and dosed in holy water without any consequence, but this was different. A second blast impacted his belly pushing him against the stone wall. Followed by a third blast that blew away his left arm, the undead fell to the ground with a loud thud.

Plasmius looked around as he was being dragged by the hair towards his throne, the tables were destroyed and the walls painted with blood, all his vampires turned into dust after having their hearts eaten away by the monsters, and the few Nosferatu that remained were quickly dispatched by either Sam or Tucker along with the ghouls who now lay in pieces all across the floor. The vampire had seen this so many times before though it was the first time he was on the receiving end, being hunted like an animal. The undead looked from his throne towards the dark hall, not a single vampire at his call, all the ghouls gone, just the three little demons.

The Lisovik and the werewolf returned to their human forms taking position behind whom Plasmius assumed to be their leader, despite Danny's unthreatening demeanor, proved to be a real monster. It was then that he noticed the girl was looking at him with a disappointed expression which bothered the vampire greatly, never before had anyone, much less a child thought so little of him, his attention was then shifted towards the dark-skinned boy who stood naked as his clothes had torn during his transformation, just like Danny, this teen didn't seem to pose a threat even if he was covered in blood. The wounds were not closing which made the undead lord assume it was hell magic.

"Looks like he was just a big fish in a very small pond."- Sam teased.

"What does it feel to be in the ocean with the sharks?"- Tucker sneered at the undead ruler as he turned his back heading towards the diner.

The vampire lord saw with slight fear as the boy put a hand over his chest and passed through without causing any harm, a strange greenish glow opened the way for the teen as he pulled away with Plasmius's black heart allowing his entire body to go limp, using all his power was that the vampire lifted his hand towards the boy who held his heart almost by sheer instinct as his vision darken. A wicked smile broke on Danny's face as he used magic to burn the organ ablaze in green flames, the trio watched as the vampire turned into dust leaving behind a dusty skeleton.

"Jackpot! I found the treasure!"- Tucker suddenly yelled while holding a large cauldron overhead. "Check this out, chocolate from Zanzibar"- Tucker held out the chocolate bar.

Danny and Sam quickly moved towards Tucker's prize and gorged themselves on all manner of candy and chocolate not being bothered by the gore around them, Tucker stuffed his mouth with a hard candy called "Jawbreaker" which didn't stand to its name as the boy crushed it under his powerful maws in a matter of seconds, Danny was no better as he filled his mouth with chocolate drops until there was no more space, Sam, on the other hand, devoured a package of donuts.

Once the trio had their fill with the unwholesome sugary treats was that they noticed all vampires had turned into dust leaving behind nothing more than their clothes but as for the ghouls, their bloody body parts remained scattered around. It was then that the kids bagged the remaining candy and walked out of the great hall using a torch as their cellphones had long run out of battery, Sam was sure that her parents would give her hell for staying out so late with a couple of boys.

"You sure your folks won't give you grief for not joining the family hunt?"- Danny asked Tucker while chewing on another chocolate bar.

"Nah… what about you? Didn't your mom say to be home before midnight?"- Tucker replied.

"She'll leave me off the hook once I tell her about this place."- Danny countered.

"So… I'm only the one fucked…"- Sam interjected. Soon the three little monsters vanished in the dark corridors.

The end.
