Hopefully, it makes sense. It did to me, but I often don't make sense. Ha!
A ship it is. While Starscream had left, others in the meeting were still coming to terms with what he had told them. They still couldn't or wouldn't believe it. Talking amongst themselves about it, they didn't care if Starscream could hear them.
"Would you believe the crap that came out of that youngling's mouth?" Cliffjumper asked pointing with a hand toward where he'd gone.
Ratchet, knowing what he saw in the viewings tried to explain that not all Starscream said was a lie or a joke, "There's no way to change one's optic color. It was a fancy on Cybertron which failed because it caused blindness." He informed. "So, how would you explain that?"
The room went silent as they considered the CMO's words.
"Ok, so he has changed somehow… but Screamer's out of his mind if he thinks we are going to just accept what he told us. Starscream? A Prime? He's insane, Ratchet." Sunstreaker huffed after a pause in consideration to Ratchet.
"He's got to be trying to play a practical joke." Sideswipe agreed with his brother.
"It may sound like a tall tale, Sunstreaker, but I also saw something I can't define on that screen." Ratchet replied. He then shrugged, "If what he says is a lie, then what have you to worry about?"
"That he's becoming exactly like he was when he was under Megatron. An egotistical maniac."
"He's got an ego bigger than Earth if he thinks he's a Prime,"
"I guess the truth will come out sooner or later." Wheeljack said with a sigh as he left the room.
Starscream stared at the wall as if the answers to everything would appear right there if he looked hard enough. That wall was becoming his new best friend, it seemed. He was spending more time in his quarters staring at this wall than doing much else as of late. He sighed and continued to stare, willing the words to form. What had happened to the Allspark? How were others able to work with it and move it? And most of all… how in the hell did it get so small?
In an instant, he felt weird. He rached or the wall as he become dizzy and his world spun. His mind shocked him, literally. Each time he moved his head or moved his optics, it felt like someone slapped him on the side of the head. What was this? Air hitched in his vents as he tried to get control of his body. His spark raced and became bright enough to see through the cracks of his armor. His mind reeled. His optics offlined. This was something new yet old. As darkness shrouded him, he knew this was a part of his purpose. The darkness gave way to empty, intergalactic space at first. Then in a rush a galaxy became larger and larger until he was engulfed by the bright stars and nebulas that made it what it was.
In the depths of space unknown, evil was beginning to stir.
There was an all too familiar feeling that had been buried and hidden deep within his memories and Starscream started to panic. He wasn't sure what the panic was for, since he did not feel afraid, nor threatened, but something about what was happening caused it.
He watched as a supernova had collapsed in on itself too close to a second that caused a black hole. Although the blast was most beautiful, putting forth colors that wouldn't normally be able to be seen by any human eye, something else caught his attention that had been lit up by the explosion. He hadn't noticed the tear until the supernova started to disperse, but it was there. His vision focused on the rip until it was the only thing in his view. The tear shined a bright yellow and white, showing a gap where it should have been closed for eternity. There was no mistaking what he was seeing.
It was the result of the Allspark being destroyed.
In his mind, he watched the tear in space and time and felt what was behind it. Everything went dark and in that instant, bright green orbs came to life and bore deep into his mind and spark. They were the optics of the enemy of their race. Those optics were enormous. The shining orbs that peeked out seemed to know he was there and it knew he saw it. "There you are." He heard the voice belonging to the one behind the rift. "Foolish Primes."
"Shit," Starscream said to himself, watching the being.
Their worst fear was coming to surface as he watched. He had hoped deep down in those buried memories that this wouldn't ever happen but seeing as Sam had used to Allspark to destroy Megatron, he had inadvertently created this mess. He couldn't blame the kid.His visions focused on the being on the other side, which was much larger than the rift itself. There was a loud metallic and feral growl. The growl escaladed until it became a full-blown scream that could be heard off the atoms bouncing around so close. The scream was furious.
The dark entity glared out of rift at Starscream, searching for a way to accelerate the deterioration of the rip. Hopefully, it would be a long while before it would succeed in getting through, but not before sending out a proto-form in the direction Starscream could not see. The proto-form sailed out of the rift and headed into deep space, set for Earth.
His thoughts were cut off by the beep at the door. His optics slowly went to the offending sound as he spoke, irritation laced in his voice. Not from being disturbed, but from what he saw. "Enter," Starscream knew that these were his abilities he would get back eventually. Primus had bestowed all of them with unusual abilities. But this was different, the vision stung his mind. He figured it had to do with his mind having to cope with the sudden and powerful changes.
Optimus stepped through the threshold and glared at the Seeker. He had considered what went on in the main room at the table. Sure enough, everyone had decided that Starscream was absolutely flipped. "Starscream, do you realize that the entire base thinks you've gone insane?"
"I don't care what they think, Optimus." The seeker replied, still thinking about what he had just seen.
"You should."
"Why should I? I have bigger problems." The Seeker retorted then sighed. Way bigger problems. "There's been a tear in space and evil lurks just behind that rift." He lifted his head slightly to look Optimus straight in the optics.
Optimus folded his arms over his chest, "Perhaps you need to tell me about it," he tried again. It was probably a lost cause, as Starscream was keeping tight lipped about it all.
"I just did. He's gonna get free and he will come, and there's nothing I can do without the others – without Primus,"
"Who, Starscream?"
Starscream threw up his hands with a scoff, frustrated at circumstances. "You saw what was in my memories, you should also know,"
Optimus shook his head slowly, "I can tell you what we saw, however, no names come to mind, and there was a planet and a moon."
"That wasn't a moon," Starscream looked away.
"That's what it looked like on the screen."
"I don't want to give you specifics on them yet, however, what you saw from that memory was Unicron," Starscream looked away quickly with a fold of his arms. His voice alone spoke such loathe that it made Optimus take a step back.
"Unicron…?" Optimus gasped.
"Yes… Unicron." Starscream answered, not sure of what else to say.
Optimus, seeing Starscream's discomfort of speaking about it tried to change the subject. He had so many questions. "Can you tell me why you said I was wrong about the Allspark?"
Starscream hiked an optic ridge, but it was more out of surprise than curiosity, "Because you were. Funny you should ask. I was thinking about it myself."
"Explain?"
Starscream considered the leader a long moment, trying to think of a way to tell him. It had changed, dramatically. When they had created the relic, it was so much bigger, and could have been confused with what humans call a dyson sphere. He didn't know why it was so small, "The Allspark was a relic of power we created to contain Unicron since he's too powerful to destroy. Unfortunately, Sam used it against Megatron and killed him with it in effect destroying it, but the consequences are dire. Since it was destroyed, a whole lot of havoc is going to be wreaked. It's going to take us all to fix this. We barely managed to stop him before."
"What kind of havoc?"
Ignoring the question, Starscream said, "It was never supposed to be in the hands of anyone, ever." He shook his head, "No one should have been able to throw it around like a toy."
"What do you mean?"
"It was bigger. It was about the size of a star,"
"What happened to it?"
"I don't know." Starscream frowned as he wondered. "I assume over the millennia others learned that they could do more with it. It was supposed to have been left alone. I don't understand and it angers me that it's been toyed with."
Optimus said in a disturbing, yet curious tone, "and while we are on the subject of strange occurrences, perhaps then, you might be able to tell me why you mentioned Megatron?"
Starscream's optics narrowed on the leader as if deciding whether he wanted to divulge that information to him. He knew that everyone would be in real danger should he also be correct about Megatron. How was he supposed to tell Optimus about Megatron? As far as Optimus knew, he was the Lord High Protector of the Allspark and of Cybertron itself, and for some reason he went nuts, took out the femmes and sparklings on a rampage to stop the Autobots in their tracks. Now, Starscream had stumbled upon something very alarming and wasn't quite sure how his creator would take it, "Because Megatron is still a very real danger," was all he said.
"At the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean?" Optimus hiked an optic ridge in question.
Starscream looked up at him, tilting his head slightly, asking, "Did you ever wonder why he turned out the way he did? Why he betrayed Cybertron? Why he tried to steal the Allspark for himself?"
"I've wondered about that since the breem it happened, but it doesn't tell me why you say he is currently a threat,"
Starscream ignored the comment, his optics going to the floor, "No…" Starscream said with a somber tone, his optics looking to the right, then back to Optimus, "not currently, but he will be, I'll bet my spark on it,"
Optimus let out something akin to a sigh, "Perhaps we should do another memory extraction. The more we know, the more we can be prepared,"
"There is no way in the Pit any of you will be prepared for what will be coming," Starscream's optics flashed dangerously.
"And what is that?"
Starscream leaned back on the wall staring at his creator for a long moment. He again debated on telling him everything, "I'll tell you when I know more." The Seeker looked away, showing Optimus he had no intention of answering, instead, he said something else, completely off the wall, which left an expressionless look on Optimus' face, "I believe that there are other hidden ancient sparks amongst the living and I need to find out which ones and guide them because we will need them,"
"I don't understand,"
"History may very well be repeating itself. When he gets free, we will need to be ready."
"What part of history?"
"The part all of you are so ignorant about. The part that I lived," The Seeker's shoulders seemed to sag, "The battle of so long ago. The battle for all of us. The one we barely won."
"What battle?"
"The battle that you saw on that stupid machine. Tell me you didn't think it was just some odd gathering,"
"Like I said, it showed no battle, only ancients."
"Let's hope that there is enough Rarified Energon left on Cybertron to awaken Primus,"
"Rarified Energon?" Optimus asked, having never heard of the term.
"Ah, another thing hidden from all of you, I see," Starscream snorted, "figures,"
"What is Rarified Energon?"
"But I suppose all of the Rarified Energon in the universe couldn't help Primus if we can't get to Vector Sigma. We need Beta for that. We need to find her as soon as possible or all this is going to go up in smoke, quite literally."
"Answer my question,"
Starscream glared at his creator, "It's a special type of energon. Let's leave it at that for now. I will tell you when I have more answers to actually give you. Right now, this is a complete mess and it's taking me a while to figure everything out." his voice enunciated his refusal with a darker undertone that did not pass by the Autobot leader.
Optimus' optics narrowed with confusion and frustration. What was the youngling going on about now? He also mentioned about – what was it again? – Rarified Energon? What in the Allspark was that? What was Vector Sigma?
The door beeped once again, Starscream's optics left his creator's and he looked to the door, "Perceptor is here, perhaps with some news on the ship?"
Optimus was about to ask when the door opened, "Ah, Optimus, the Secretary of Defense wishes a meeting with you about the items we will need to build the ship. He said he thinks the government can help with supplies," Perceptor's voice rang out.
Optimus had turned to hear his scientist out, and then turned to Starscream who had a smug look to him. The Seeker folded his arms as he glanced at the disbelief in his creator's face.
Until next time...
