Many Years Ago.
Lee Yeon's POV
I was quiet as I gazed upon the mysterious dragon who was currently sleeping in the sun. Its scales were pale blue with white embedded in them. It had several horns along with white wing membranes and two white fins on the tail. I didn't let anyone or any creature randomly come into my mountain without my permission, but then again where the creature slept was a few feet away from my domain so technically it wasn't trespassing.
But the animals of my forest were nervous about the dragon's presence and I was determined to scare it off. I made my next few steps quiet as I approached the sleeping creature of fire. I saw a stick and summoned it to my hand. Then I gave the reptile a poke on the shoulder. The dragon didn't stir so I gave it another poke.
This time the reptile woke up and it lifted its head to see what disturbed it. Silver eyes glared at me and soon sharp teeth were being bared. The dragon then rose and I noticed it walked with its wings. The annoyed beast turned away from me and lay back down.
"Oi! Wake up!"
I gave the dragon one last poke and the beast roared out in anger. It turned to face me again and I was given a loud roar in my face before the dragon wrapped its wings around its body and bluish smoke surrounded it.
"Do you have a death wish fox?" an angry woman demanded. She had hair color similar to mine and her eyes were a stormy-grey at the moment. Huh, I hadn't been expecting a shape-shifter.
"Your scaring the creatures in my forest" I countered.
"Last I checked Lord Yeon where I'm standing is not your domain"
Her remark made me smirk.
"I've seen many dragons in my lifetime but not one such as yourself"
"I'm a Wyvern" the fiery female corrected. "You may call me what you wish but I am viewed as a dragon in the eyes of others, now if you'll excuse me I am tired and wish to sleep"
The fiery female shifted back to her true form before taking flight. Over time our paths would cross again many times. The fiery woman would continue to give me an attitude but the more time she spent in my company her mood changed.
Her name was Daenys and she became my world. A friendship formed between us before it turned into love. She eventually took residence in my mountains and I wanted her at my side as my mate. As a gift of her love to me I was given a Moonstone. Dragons and Wyverns gave their mates the hidden gem they kept hidden within them.
But before our mate bond could be formed tragedy struck and my beloved died. I held her in my arms when she drew her last breath. I chose to chase down the boat that would carry Daenys across the Stream of Dead. I just couldn't bear the thought of losing her. So I abused my power and froze the river seizing the boat to stop. Before she departed from me forever I was granted permission to say goodbye.
Placing a hand to her face I remember telling Daenys.
"Be born again, I promise I'll find you no matter what"
Daenys had nodded and the two of us shared one last kiss. And during the kiss, I gave her my fox bead as she gave me her Moonstone. Over the years I met many who look-alikes but none of them had the fox bead.
Present
Ayleen's POV
After Yeon passed out I carried him in my claws as a wyvern and flew us back to the balcony. I didn't return to my human form once I made sure the male was out of my sharp talons. Now I making tea that would help get rid of the sedative effects. Once the tea was finished I waited for said hot male to wake up.
Yeon groaned before finally opening his eyes. He then saw me standing over him.
"Do you want to die?"
"Unlikely" I greeted back before setting a cup of the tea on the coffee table. "Drink that, it will get rid the rest of the sedative"
Yeon then chose that moment to get up and I blushed as he towered over me.
"How do I know it's not poison?"
"If I wanted you dead you'd be dead" I growled. "Now drink the damn tea unless you want to continue having a headache"
The bastard decided to smirk.
"Fiery thing aren't we?"
I rolled my eyes and Yeon took the tea and downed it. I sat down at the table and so did he but across from yours truly.
"You're a Nine-Tailed Fox aren't you?"
"I knew you were smart" Yeon confirmed. "And you're a wyvern, how the hell did I get here anyway?"
"I carried you in my claws and flew back up, and don't make a comment that I didn't ruin your face"
"But you didn't and I'm still handsome as ever"
I shook my head while the fox decided to chuckle.
You should tell him about me my other half suggested.
"You look deep in thought" Yeon pointed out.
"My inner wyvern was talking to me, while I am the human side, she is the creature side, both need the other to survive"
This seemed to greatly amuse the fox.
Hell I can't wait to bed him
Shut it or you'll go back into your cage I threatened and my inner beast went quiet.
"And what did she just say to you a second ago?"
"Nice try fox but that's privileged information"
It was getting late and I was tired. As I stood up so did Yeon.
"You still never answered my question about why you're here in Seoul, wyverns and dragons tend to be close to family"
Damn him!
"You're a nosy bastard aren't you?"
"Normally no but for some reason you look very familiar to someone I knew once"
When he spoke those last words I heard a change of tone.
The fox suddenly tilted his head as though trying to get a better look at me. Then he was grinning in a way I didn't like.
"Your N. Shade Wolf"
F**k!
That is the name I used on my books. N and Shade represented Nightshade while Wolf was symbolized for my favorite animal. I smacked the damned fox on the chest.
"First your brother and now you"
Annoyed I placed a firm grip on Yeon's wrist.
"I like my privacy fox as I know you value yours, I'm not going to blurt out to the humans what you are because it isn't my damn business, if you do that then you can keep my identity a secret in return"
"I can work with that"
"Good or else I'll kick your ass or tails"
"Doubtful dragon"
With a growl of annoyance, I let go of his wrist.
"Tonight the odds were in your favor"
Now he was quoting from my favorite teen book!
I felt a headache coming on as I gathered my things and left Yeon's apartment. The whole ride down the image of his sexy smirk wouldn't leave my head.
