Ayleen's POV

I was reading through my emails on my bed mat when Yeon complained.

"This blanket smells I don't think it was washed"

I rolled my eyes at the nine-tailed fox's whining.

"By the way"

I arched an eyebrow at Yeon. He then sat up and looked at me.

"What color is your wyvern form?"

"Pale blue with white embedded in the scales, my wing membranes are white as are the tail fins, I have several horns on my head and my eyes are silver"

Yeon's POV

She had my full attention when she finished describing her true form. It was exactly like Daenys's was when she was in her wyvern form.

"What's that around your neck?"

Ayleen's POV

Yeon pulled out a golden chain that had a moonstone pendant.

"That's pretty" I complimented him.

Yeon smiled when I said that.

"Someone I loved very much gave this to me a long time ago, I keep it as a reminder of her"

"Well she chose well, moonstones are gorgeous"

It was getting late so I decided to go to sleep.

"Night fox," I told Leon before closing my eyes.

Yeon's POV

Ayleen slept soundly while I simply stared at her. I bent down and then used my fox magic to see if my bead was inside of her. But nothing happened and my heart felt like it was broken in two. I had been hoping the sleeping wyvern was Daenys. I stood back up and put the flower blanket on top of Ayleen. The one she had was thin and it wouldn't hurt for her to have some extra warmth. I then went outside and lost myself to my thoughts.

Next Day.

Ayleen's POV

"So that silver-haired old coot is dead?" I asked Yeon after he came out of the bathroom.

"Unfortunately yes"

I wasn't going to say how the human male died. Our next stop was one of Mr. Seo's co-worker's houses. I knocked on the gate but Yeon kicked it instead.

"Do you like making messes fox?" I demanded.

I followed Yeon into the house and the kitchen was trashed. There was food on the floor and the fridge was open. The owner was irate with Yeon and told him to get out of his house while showing the fox a knife. But Yeon simply knocked the knife out of the fishermen's hand and gripped it hard. The man protested in pain.

"From here on out answer my questions nicely, if not I'll break your fingers one by one" Yeon threatened.

With that promise, the fishermen explained what happened on the boat. But both Yeon and I knew this wasn't the whole truth.

"Let me try something" I alerted Yeon and I only down before the fishermen. I described the hot summer weather, of how four men were food and water-deprived, eventually madness set in and unfortunately, Mr. Seo was caught up in it.

The fishermen shied away and began to whine that it wasn't his fault. He repeated those words until a look of madness took hold. He eyed me and kept saying he was hungry while cackling. Immediately I stood up but before the fishermen could even walk in my direction, Yeon blocked him and he threw the human male across the room.

The bloke landed on the floor before getting back up. Again he was coming our way until something seemed to deprive him of air. Yeon and I watched as the poor bastard tried to breathe but it was to no avail and he fell to the floor.

I cautiously checked the man's pulse and shook my head when I didn't feel one.

"He's gone" I informed Yeon.

A Few Minutes Later.

"Man, what a dump" I muttered as I examined the home of the last surviving fishermen. The dude even had a damn tent in his house for f**k's sake. My attention then was drawn to a painting. I recognized it as "The Dragon King". As I pulled out my phone the sound of something popping made me jump.

I whirled around to see Yeon eating from a bag of chips.

"Really? You scared the shit out of me fox"

"Oh sorry"

"Yeah right I swear to god fox I can still light your tails on fire, two people died, and your eating away"

"So?"

I flipped Yeon off and this made him smirk. He then sighed and came my way.

"Do you know many people died in fifty years during the Japanese invasion of the Joseon Dynasty? 3.5 million, I've seen more deaths than funeral homes in Korea combined"

"Even in that large number some of those deaths had to be heartbreaking"

Yeon was quiet as I examined the painting again.

"This painting was that at the other fishermen's house, the Dragon King"

Yeon nodded before saying.

"It is but it looks nothing like him"

"Holy shit you met him?"

"Ages ago when I was a mountain god, I took a kind of leading lecture from him, he wasn't as handsome though"

"Johnny Depp is handsome, especially as Captain Jack Sparrow"

Yeon gave me a WTF look and I smirked before showing him the original picture of the Dragon King painting.

"The dragon in this painting has no legs"

"It isn't a dragon but a snake"

I nodded in agreement.

"An imoogi if I recall correctly"

Afterward.

Yeon literally dragged me out of the house and told me to leave the island. In return, I smacked him on the head and voiced my displeasure at him trying to give me orders. After making a phone call to Lydia I returned to Pyung-hee's home.

"Back so soon?" the hostess greeted me. She was holding a copy of Moby Dick. I drew my dagger out.

"Not falling for your shape-shifting trick again Rang"

Immediately Rang changed forms and he smirked at me.

"Aww I was hoping you would fall for my disguise Ms. Moore, and you're here alone at the moment"

His eyes were on my dagger every few seconds.

"I would accuse you of killing the fishermen but your scent isn't on them, why the hell do you have a copy of Moby Dick?"

"This? I'm into the classics"

"What do you want?" I changed the subject. "You've obviously been waiting for me"

"Can I not say hello to my favorite author?"

"I think you're here to distract Yeon and I from the real reason your here on the island"

Rang's smirk widened even more and he clapped.

"Smart wyvern"

The cocky fox then walked past me.

"See you around N. Shade Wolf"

He gave me a mock bow before taking his leave.
