Hey guys. Hope you all had a good Xmas!
Ayleen's POV
"Believe it or not you kissed me first as Daenys" Yeon said. We were walking around and I was still a bit emotional from the kiss on the bridge. I smirked at this because it was funny.
"And yet again in this century, I repeated it"
I then stopped and so did Yeon.
"I want to give us a chance Yeon, but I don't want to live in the shadow of the past"
Just tell him what's on your mind my wyvern encouraged.
Yeon interrupted my thoughts as he intertwined a hand with mine. My face went red and my heart was starting to pound like hell.
"I want the same thing as well, but having a nine-tailed fox as a mate can be unpredictable at times, parts of our past will no doubt come along the way but I want you Ayleen"
To prove his point he gave me another kiss and it was just as good as the first one. The kiss was quick but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
"Your blushing" he teased.
"I do that every time your with me fox," I told him. "So tell me why are we here in the village?"
The two of us resumed walking around and we found ourselves back at the center of the village.
"One of the four mountain gods who used to rule over the Korean Peninsula, he's disguised as a human here, he might be able to find out what's causing your blackouts"
I looked around at the other people in the village.
"There are other supernatural beings here"
"Yep and they're blended in, don't worry we'll get their attention soon enough, how about the fortune teller?"
I wasn't one for those kind of people but it might be interesting so Yeon and I headed in the direction of said fortune teller. The walk wasn't long and after we took our shoes off we entered the fortune teller's shop.
"Ah! I was wondering when you'd be coming!"
The fortune teller wore the folk village get up and he was fanning himself. He wore sunglasses and I took an immediate liking to him. The bloke put his fan down and after paying twenty-bucks I smacked Yeon because he made a comment that wasn't necessary. I looked around the room and decided on my past life.
"What can you tell me about my past life?"
Yeon rolled his eyes while the fortune teller pulled out a phone. I chuckled when I realized he was using an app. He took a picture of Yeon first then me.
"There we go, young lady you were a mighty warrior in your past life, someone who gladly protected those dear to you and unleashed your fury against your enemies"
Yep, that sounds about right but I'm curious what exactly else we were in our past life my other half wondered.
I couldn't hold back my laughter when the fortune teller revealed Yeon was an industrial laborer. My nine-tailed mate shook his head and it was obvious he was ready to go. I thanked the fortune teller and gave him a tip which he appreciated.
"You two will have an upcoming battle on your hands"
Yeon and I looked at the older man in confusion.
"I wish you luck"
Once we were away from the fortune teller's shop Yeon said.
"What he just said made me uneasy"
"Agreed"
I then placed a hand on top of his.
"Whatever battle he was referring to, we can endure it"
Yeon smiled and I was about to as well when I suddenly caught an arrow.
"What the?!"
"Calm down fox, I'm fine"
Hey, he's just worried you might have gotten hurt my wyvern half stated. Okay, she had a point there so I wouldn't give my mate a hard time. I undid the message from the arrow and gave it to Yeon. From the way he smirked the mountain god here in the folk village was ready to meet with us.
He took my hand into his and we made our way towards the government building. It was deserted upon arrival and Yeon said it looked the same before calling out for the magistrate. A side door opened and out came a man who appeared to look older than my nine-tailed mate. But you could sense his power as a mountain god.
"It's been a while, Lee Yeon" the magistrate greeted.
"You aged since I last saw you" Yeon returned the greeting.
"What are you doing here?"
Yeon then looked at me for a minute before returning his gaze to the magistrate.
"There is something that is going on with my mate and I was hoping you could shed some light"
The magistrate looked at me.
"Your mate is a woman not to be underestimated, I also heard fox sister died and the one who killed her on her wedding day was a former mountain god"
What the?! Yeon killed the bride from the wedding?!
"And the one who hid that sinner who ate her brothers' livers and fled was also a former mountain god"
The two former gods exchanged some more small talk before the magistrate raised his hand. I growled as Yeon and I were suddenly surrounded by men and the doors closed.
It isn't wise to trap a wyvern my other half hissed.
No, it was not and I was already greatly annoyed. My mate knew what was about to happen so he took my hand and guided me out of harm's way.
"Wait here a moment" he then looked at his watch. "Give me five minutes"
Just as my nine-tailed fox was about to turn around I grabbed the collar of his suit and gave him my own surprise kiss. I would never get tired of tasting Yeon's lips against my own.
"Don't get hurt fox"
Yeon smirked before facing the warriors and the fighting commenced.
I will never get tired of seeing him fight
I second that I agreed with my inner beast as Yeon overpowered the men fighting him. Hell, seeing him fight was sexy as f *k. Suddenly one of the warriors came at me and immediately I disarmed my opponent by first kneeing him where the sun didn't shine, then I punched the sword out of the bloke's grasp.
Immediately the magistrate was next to us and he had a firm grip on the warrior's wrist.
"As you can see my girlfriend can protect herself just fine" Yeon boasted looking proud.
"Yes I can see that"
The warrior excused himself before the magistrate looked at me.
"My lady if you don't mind"
He gestured at the chairs. I nodded and walked towards the chairs and the magistrate followed me. I sat down as did the other mountain god. My eyes remained on Yeon and seeing him kick ass was entertaining. Well, it was until more warriors showed up with bows and arrows. Yeon picked up a wooden post and it transformed into his sword.
He used the sword to break apart a couple of arrows and a snarl escaped my lips as I saw Yeon get slightly wounded from an arrow whizzing by his neck. Hell, I was on my feet and agitated again.
"You have feelings for that fox," the magistrate said.
"Your right I do"
There I said it!
I was in freaking love with Lee Yeon and f**k anyone who thought we shouldn't be together. The nine-tailed fox wanted me as I wanted him.
"I am his as he is mine, I've waited to find him for thirty-five years and gods be damned if anyone or anything tries to keep us apart"
My remark made the magistrate chuckle.
"You are a fiery young woman who knows what she wants in life"
"All I want is to live side by side with my mate"
"The answers you seek from me won't be easy to hear for you or your mate, young dragon"
"Then we'll deal with it, life throws curve balls our way and the only way to avoid getting smacked is to endure them"
