Ayleen's POV

Yeon's phone vibrating made my nine-tailed mate stop kissing me. He sighed before pulling his phone out again and this time he answered it.

"Why do you keep calling me?"

Bet that's Rang my wyvern said.

"I'm not your girlfriend, when I don't pick up just assume there's a reason"

Whoever was on the other end interrupted my boyfriend.

"What are you cooking up this time?"

Yep, it was definitely Rang on the other end. Rang said something else and Yeon replied.

"I'm 99.9 sure that's a scheme, I'm busy, bye"

After another exchange of dialogue, Yeon hung up the phone.

"Rang again?"

"Unfortunately yes, he says we need to meet so we might as well so he won't call again"

I reluctantly agreed and the two of us were now walking back in the direction of the fortune teller's place.

"You still care about Rang"

Yeon didn't say anything but I knew he was listening.

"I don't know what happened between you two that caused you guys to become estranged but family is important, the past several times I crossed paths with Rang I could tell he still cared about you though he just doesn't show it"

"I raised him" Yeon explained. "His human mother abandoned him and our father well I rather not go there"

That's f**king cruel my inner beast hissed. Yes, it was.

"Lydia is the closest thing I have to a sibling, wyverns tend to have two children but my mother couldn't conceive again after I was born, her mother my aunt had the same problem so we grew up as only children but became thick as thieves and we're more siblings than cousins"

The fortune teller building appeared and outside were Rang and the fortune teller's shoes. Yeon looked at his brother's shoes and got a mischievous grin on his face. I glared at my mate before taking off my boots and headed inside.

"There's my favorite author" Rang greeted me as I entered the room.

"Is that you pulling a fast one or are you really being honest you like my work?" I asked as I sat down.

"Ms. Moore you wound me"

He placed a hand on his heart in a mocking manner. Then he grinned again.

"I'm telling the truth that I like your work Ayleen"

He then gave my Hanbok a look over.

"By the way, you look nice in a Hanbok"

Again he was telling the truth.

"Just how many damn suits do you have?"

"As much as I need"

You know he may be an ass but I'm starting to like him a little

Yeon chose that moment to come in and he gave his brother a mock kick.

"What are you doing at the Folk Village?"

"You think I'm here on a field trip for school or something?

"You'd probably get an F"

Rang then called out to the fortune teller and the old man returned.

"Oh, your back?"

"What's hidden up your sleeve?" Yeon demanded from his younger sibling as the fortune teller sat down.

"Do you even know he's a real fortune teller?

"This con man obviously has a fake beard"

Yeon then grabbed the poor bastard's beard and it turned out the beard was real. My nine-tailed mate let go of the fortune teller.

"Your role as a fortune teller is your undercover isn't it?"

"Yes young dragoness"

"See even your mate knows that idiot" Rang then looked to the fortune teller. "Appraise him to see if this is the most precious thing to me"

The fortune teller then took off his sunglasses and my eyes went wide when it was revealed they were fully white. The fortune teller picked up a magnifying glass and examined Yeon with it.

I got a bad feeling about this

Quit quoting Star Wars I reprimanded my other half as the fortune teller finished his task.

"It is the most precious thing in your life," the unknown entity told Rang. "A brother"

Rang sighed and muttered.

"Damn"

The fortune teller took a pair of odd-looking glasses from his robes and gave it to Rang. The younger fox took them before standing up.

"See you later" he addressed me and Yeon before leaving. A second later Rang shouted. "Hey! Where are my shoes?!"

Yeon smirked and I shook my head.

"I don't know!"

"Sly fox really sly"

As the two of us stood up the fortune teller suddenly used his cane to grab Yeon's leg.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Immediately a dangerous growl escaped my lips and I felt my eyes glowing.

"Easy I got this" Yeon reassured me before looking to the fortune teller. "Let go"

"You belong to me a deal's a deal"

I knew it Rang pulled this stunt

Before Yeon could respond the fortune teller tapped Yeon on the leg with his cane and I watched in horror as my nine-tailed mate turned into blue smoke and then was engulfed into the satchel the fortune teller held. And the next thing the bloke knew he had a dagger at his throat and a very pissed off wyvern holding him captive.

"Release my mate" I hissed.

"I can't do that young dragoness"

He then protested my dagger was hurting him. The blade hadn't even nicked his skin.

"I know you can release him what is the price?"

"Damn you wyverns are protective as hell very well"

Seeing he was complying I removed the dagger away from his neck.

"In exchange for him, you must bring me the most precious thing in your life"

I knew exactly what he was talking about and after thanking him I hurriedly took my leave. The sun was setting as I exited the building and after making sure I put my purse and dagger down I backed away and transformed into my true form. Thank god for glamor because the humans around would have a heart attack at seeing a big ass dragon in the village. Using my tail I gathered my stuff into my claws before I spread my wings.

I took flight and hurriedly flew home as fast as my wings could carry me. By the time I landed outside of my house, it was dark and I shifted back into human form. I rushed inside and changed out of the Hanbok and into modern attire. Next, I found the item that was most precious to me and grabbed it before hurrying back outside. Again I shifted into my other form and made sure I securely had my things in my claws before taking flight again. The Folk Village was closed but I simply flew over the gates and landed close to the fortune teller's shop.

"You must really love him"

Moon Bear was smiling as I reverted to my human form.

"More than words"

He and I shared a smirk before I ran like hell to the fortune teller.

"Damn that was fast"

"You should try having wings"

"So young dragoness what have you brought me that is the most precious to you?"

"This"

As I sat down I removed a dagger from my purse. Its hilt was pale blue with white diamonds.

"I was given this when I turned thirteen, it's been in my family for centuries, a wyvern is gifted a dagger when they reach their adolescent years, the hilts and gems reflect the scales of our true forms"

"I must say this is a beautiful weapon, I shall appraise it"

The fortune teller pulled out his magnifying glass and I waited for his verdict.

"Alas this won't do my dear"

F**k! Now what the hell was I going to do?

"Wait a minute"

The fortune teller used his magnifying glass on me for a second before pulling it back.

"Young dragoness may I have your left hand?"

Curious at what he found I gave him my left hand to examine. He removed his sunglasses and his blank eyes looked at my palm intently.

"You have the Fox Marble my dear in exchange for it I will return your mate"

"Done"

The fortune teller smirked.

"The deal is complete"

My palm then glowed for a second before the light faded.

A Half Hour Later.

"Did you really need to beat up the old man as soon as you were let out fox?"

My boyfriend was ticked.

"He deserved it! How dare he treat me like that! I'm much older than he is!"

I then shut him up by giving my mate a quick kiss.

"Chill out"

"You shouldn't have given up the Fox Marble"

"And lose you? No Yeon, I would endure hell itself to keep you with me"

I then buried my head underneath his.

"I was scared I lost you fox"

Yeon responded by embracing me and he kissed my forehead.

"You won't ever lose me Ayleen"

"Good because I would kick your nine-tailed ass into kingdom come in the afterlife if you left me alone"

"Good lord woman, must you revert to violence?"

"I'm not violent fox, just a protective female wyvern who loves her mate"

"And one who is easily angered"

"Damn straight"
