Legacy of the Ancients

Boss name: Legacy, the Eternal Automaton Command Core

Type: Place of Interest (weekly boss)

Location: Narukami Island, Inazuma

Description: Esmeralda has invited you to drop by and challenge Legacy to a duel. Perhaps if you do, both she and you may learn something new.

Stats (lvl 90)

Hp: ~950,000 (phase 1: 100% - 50% Hp, phase 2: 50% - 0% Hp)

Atk: ~12,500

Resistances: Phy 70%, others 10% (phase 1) or Phy 70%, Geo 50%, others 10% (phase 2)

Attacks:

Drain Surge Gate: Legacy approaches a Surge Gate and begins to drain it. Depending on its remaining health, it will reveal 1 to 4 power cores that all have to be attacked to cancel this attack. They are located on its left front claw, right front claw, the tip of its tail, and within its mouth.

Power Surge - Blue: Only used when successfully absorbing the Blue Surge Gate. Legacy gains a ~50,000 Hp shield. Its abilities will become faster.

Power Surge - Red: Only used when successfully absorbing the Red Surge Gate. Fly into the air and fire missiles throughout the room, dealing massive physical damage. Legacy permanently increases its attack power.

Power Surge - Green: Only used when successfully absorbing the Green Surge Gate. Legacy summons 3 random Ruin Sentinels that can be destroyed normally. Several of its attacks will no longer reveal its power cores, and its defense is permanently increased.

Slash (phase 1 only): Legacy slashes with either front claw, dealing physical damage.

Tail swipe: After charging up, swing its tail and spin, dealing physical damage in a large area around it. This exposes the core at the tip of the tail while charging. (Core no longer exposed after absorbing Green Surge Gate.)

Stomp: After charging up, stomp the ground with 1 - 4 of its four legs, dealing physical damage and pushing the player away. This exposes the core on any leg that attacks during and for 4s after the attack. In phase 2, stomps up to three times consecutively. (Cores no longer exposed after absorbing Green Surge Gate.)

Charge: Legacy dashes forward, dealing physical damage. In phase 2, Legacy also spreads its wings, greatly increasing the AoE of this ability.

Bombardment: Fire six homing missiles at the player, each dealing moderate pyro damage. In phase 2, three waves of six missiles are fired.

Heavy Bombardment: Transform its wings into a pair of large missiles. They then fire themselves at the player sequentially, dealing physical damage in a large area before reforming as wings.

Orbital Strike: Lock onto the player for five consecutive waves of lasers that each land after a delay, dealing physical damage. While the attack is ongoing, Legacy's tail will be raised and the power core within exposed. (Core no longer exposed after absorbing Green Surge Gate.)

Automaton Split (after absorbing Blue Surge Gate): Legacy splits into a Perpetual Mechanical Array and one of each unique Ruin Sentinel. Part of the damage dealt to these automatons is dealt to Legacy. Each can use their own abilities. In phase 2, a Ruin Hunter or Ruin Grader is also summoned. These are immune to damage but can be disabled temporarily by striking their weak spots.

Reform (only usable after Automaton Split): Legacy reforms into the Eternal Automaton Core. In phase 2, the Ruin Hunter or Ruin Grader summoned will become dormant.

Annihilation Beam (after absorbing Red Surge Gate): After charging up, fire a continuous beam from its mouth, dealing massive physical damage. While channeling, Legacy can turn slowly to chase the player. This exposes the core in its mouth while charging and during the attack. In phase 2, the beam rapidly grows in width.

Shield (after absorbing Green Surge Gate): Use its wings as a shield, blocking all damage for 5s. In phase 2, this is always followed by Counterstrike.

Counterstrike (phase 2 only): Only used after Shield in phase 2. Flap its wings, sending forward large waves of energy that deal Geo damage. Can perform up to three consecutive strikes, depending on damage prevented by Shield.

Claw Blade (phase 2 only): One of Legacy's front limbs transforms into a spinning blade and is fired at the player, dealing rapid physical damage. A while later, the blade returns to Legacy. While the blade is out, the power core on it is exposed and can be attacked to prevent Legacy from reclaiming the blade for an extended period of time, during which attacks that involve the missing limb are unavailable.

In phase 2, Esmeralda personally joins the battle and can use the following abilities separately from Legacy.

Raise Spikes: Summon forth a large number of Ruin Sentinel parts from the ground as spikes. Each deals Phy damage to characters that hit them. Spikes last up to 20s.

Sinkhole: Summon a sinkhole below the player that lasts for 5s. It pulls the player, dealing constant Geo damage.

Barrier: Create a defensive shield around one of Legacy's weak spots, which lasts until it is destroyed. Up to 3 Barriers can be active at once.

Power Siphon: Drain the shields of all active characters by an amount that increases based on the number of Surge Gates drained in this battle.

Shatter: Cause Legacy to be afflicted by Geo for 5s, then shatters all Crystallize shards, dealing Elemental Dmg based on the type of shard.

Open fire: Fire 3 Geo projectiles after a short delay, dealing Geo Dmg.

Artificial Drain (30% hp, no Surge Gates drained): Slowly drain a Surge Gate. Cannot be interrupted.

Advanced Artificial Drain (15% hp, 1 or fewer Surge Gates drained): Rapidly drain a Surge Gate. Cannot be interrupted.

Battle:

Leyline disorder: Surging Energy

Leyline energy erupts, filling the room. Use it to your advantage, and prevent Legacy from taking it for itself.

Three Surge Gates are present in the room. Each generates an Energy Orb every 20s, which can be collected by the player, granting various buffs for 15s. Blue Orb - The active character gains 15% increased movement speed and 15% stamina consumption reduction. Red Orb - All party members gain 15% attack and CRIT DMG. Green Orb - All party members gain 15% Defence, Shield Strength, and increased resistance to interruption.

Legacy can use certain abilities to try to drain the power from the Surge Gates. While doing so, its cores will be exposed and can be attacked to prevent it from succeeding. While being drained, the durability of the Surge Gates will fall, and they do not recover. Successfully draining a Surge Core will permanently deactivate it and grant Legacy a permanent boost as well as a new ability. See the attacks section for more information.

Several of Legacy's attacks will expose one or more of its power cores. Attacking the exposed core will interrupt its attack and lower its resistance to all elements and physical resistance by 10% for 10s, stacking up to 4 times.
