After having a panic attack and then being casually ignored by the person who talked her out of it, she was getting fed up with this place. During the panic attack, she did not even realise at the time that he had been speaking fluent Japanese to her. He said it well. Too well. She did not know if she could trust Bruce Wayne, which was the reason she had to get out of here.
She was well enough to go to Metropia now. She had a few cuts and bruises because of KID. But her other injuries were now vastly healed. Whatever medication she had been forced into taking was making her feel better, and she did not like the side effects. The pain was real. Pain showed her that she was still alive. Pain showed her how she felt on the inside, and this made her reflect that on the outside.
She knew that her mental state was not going well right now, and she needed to be with people who could help her. And these people were keeping secrets from her and lying. This was not a place she belonged. She wanted sunshine, and she wanted to feel the warmth of it on her skin. More than anything, she wanted to feel normal. She wanted to be normal. But at the end of the day, she knew that she was not normal and could never be.
She was grateful for everything they had done for her and felt guilty because of it. This guilt was likely the only reason she had not tried to leave yet.
Pennyworth Alfred wanted to take her shopping for someone and thought it would be good for her to "stretch her legs for a while". He wanted to take her shopping for clothes and other accessories. It was obvious he was trying to get her mind off a few things and distract her.
So, she was rather surprised when she made her way down the stairs to find that Wayne Bruce was waiting on her.
They acknowledged each other with a simple nod.
Wayne nervously ran his hand through his hair and was trying to think of something that he could say to her. Or even in what language he was going to say it, she was not sure. But she was also tired from the previous day and did not sleep well that night.
"Hmmm" was all Wayne could muster.
His daughter was standing right in front of him, and he could not even think of a single word to say. Much less string a sentence together.
"Lois Lane will be arriving today; I thought it would be best that..." he said.
"And her partner, Kent Clark," she said without thinking.
She remembered the last time she saw him.
No," said Wayne.
She could see that he was thinking of something.
'The woman is persistent, she thought.
Just how much information did Lois Lane have on her, and just how far was she going to go to get that interview that she wanted from her? She knew it was herself she wanted to interview because she knew reporters and their tactics. And Lois Lane was the best at getting what she wanted from the people she sought as sources. But Lois Lane had never gone up against someone like her.
There was also a current natural disaster that Superman had been taking care of for the past few days and was probably the reason why Lois Lane was here. She wanted a good story, and getting on a plane right now was going to be hard.
"Bruce!" she heard Lois Lane say.
He had not prepared for this.
He did his best to prevent this from happening.
Lois Lane walked right past Alfred and walked beside the two people staring at her right now, with an extremely annoyed and displeased Alfred following her.
"And this must be Shinichi Kudo, or would you rather be called Kudo-Kun?" asked Lois Lane.
Straight to the point.
Shinichi could see that Wayne was doing his best to try to distract Lois Lane. Even the feeble attempt of a playboy's coy smile and flirting. Even standing right in front of her and trying his best to hide her from her line of sight.
"Miss Lane," said Shinichi.
This woman was exhausting.
She could feel Pennyworth at her side as well.
This Manor was big enough to hide from this woman, and she happened to walk down the stairs at the same time that Lane arrived. This was something that she was not buying and was likely information that she had already bought.
"Excuse me," said Shinichi.
She needed to sit down.
It was too crowded here, and she was feeling overwhelmed.
"You look a little pale," said Bruce.
He immediately put his hand on her forehead.
Alfred," said Bruce.
"Right away, sir," said Alfred.
She was starting to feel faint. She realised she had not eaten today and did not have much to eat yesterday. She could already feel that Pennyworth was starting to guide her out of sight and somewhere else.
"Tell General Lane that I send my regards," said Shinichi.
She said it threateningly, just enough to get Lane to back off her in the meantime. She knew Lane would call her Father and ask questions. She knew that this would have surprised Lane and distracted her into doing something else.
She did know General Lane, and she knew that when Lois Lane made contact with him, he would be able to stop her. She knew this because she had prepared for a situation like this and made sure she had information on Lois Lane that she could use against her. General Lane was all aware of this since he was the one who gave it to her, and she would use it if need be.
There was also other information she happened to come across recently and could use as well. But she was more than likely to keep it a secret because it seemed unnecessary, and she could use that information against someone else. Someone she knew used to keep Lois Lane in line. She knew this because this was a secret he did not want her to know and could not afford to get out. An obvious secret.
"Lois. Uhmm, what are you doing here?"
She could barely hear his voice, but she could hear Clark Kent's voice from where she was. But she could hear that he was scolding her and doing his best to get her to leave. And leave fast.
