Lore:
The greatest war machine is only as good as its pilot, and the ancient Ruin Machines of the forgotten nation are no different. A man alone was weak and fragile; no claws nor fang nor poison, no plate nor hide nor wing. But his intellect was far beyond any other. With his mind, he studies the world. With his tools, he mined the earth. And in the flames of inferno, the first of many mighty golems took form.
In his shape, he created his guardian. Against the darkness, the machines stood, unyielding and unthinking. At his command, they laid waste to those who sought him harm. No claw could scratch their armored plate. No fang could pierce their metal hide. No poison could corrode the order of logic. And when the machines took to the skies, the monsters who challenged humanity found themselves outmatched.
Man was safe but he was not satisfied. The golems grew in size and complexity, their weapons and armor ever more advanced. Where the first was merely double a man's height, the most powerful towered over mountains. Their shattered the earth and ignited the skies. With untold power at their command, man claimed dominion over all he could reach.
Powers above took notice of this. Humanity threatened their rule and thus they brought war to mankind. Their power was overwhelming, their numbers infinite. Their actions were fate itself. Humanity refused to bow. Against destiny, they called their mechanical warriors to action and met their enemy.
A man alone was weak. A man who commanded the machines of war... could challenge the gods themselves.
