Profile
Description:
Daisy is Esmeralda's mechanical companion. Long ago, she was just a simple Ruin Guard, but had since evolved greatly into her current form today. Now, she has her own personality and goals.
Appearance:
Although originally a Ruin Guard, Daisy had since been heavily modified and now barely resembles those machines. She takes the form of a main, roughly circular body with a pair of large arms. Her main body is approximately 2.5 meters in diameter and her width, with arms fully extended, reaches over 8 meters. At the center of the main body is a single 'eye', armor that can be retracted to reveal the Primary Power Core within. Her body is primarily made of heavy metal, similar to that of other Khaenri'ah automatons, but with fresh coats of silver, brown, and orange paint, as well as splashes of pink.
Daisy's arms appear similar to those of a Ruin Grader: thick and heavily armored. Her left forearm has a shield attached. It can expand to cover a hexagonal area with a diameter of 2 meters. Underneath this shield is the Secondary Power Core, which appears as a yellow, charged device within her forearm. Daisy's Vision is embedded on the back of her right hand, a small blue gem that gives off a constant glow.
A metallic triangular frame floats behind Daisy. This is part of the Primal Core that gives her abilities similar to that of King Deshret's Primal Constructs. The most significant one is the ability to enter a stealthed state, where she is nearly invisible.
Personality:
Daisy is immensely protective of and loyal to Esmeralda, her closest friend. She will ensure that any potential threat nearby is identified, catalogued, and mitigated. Although no longer bound by programming, Daisy tends to obey Esmeralda's instructions.
Now fully awakened and armed with a Vision, Daisy has begun to consider its own future. Perhaps soon she will make its own path. For now, she is content with journeying with Esmeralda, exploring the secrets of the world's technology.
Abilities
Vision
Daisy wields a Hydro Vision, which is built into the back of her right hand.
Cores
Daisy has a number of Cores that grant her abilities. Each Core has a specific purpose ranging from power to utility.
Primary Power Core
All Ruin Machines have a main power source and Daisy is no different. This Core provides power for her systems via an as yet unknown process; Esmeralda has improved it to also be able to extract elemental energy from Leylines to ensure a constant power supply. While in normal operations, the core is protected within Daisy's main body, visible as an 'eye', similar to higher-tier Ruin Machines like Ruin Graders. Just like those, thus Core is capable of overcharging itself to provide large amounts of power for stronger attacks, but is forced to expose itself to counterattack to prevent mechanical failure. If struck while vulnerable, the Core will be overloaded and fail to function until it can be restored. Usually, it can self-repair within seconds.
Plausterite Core
Located at the base of Daisy's main body, this Core replaces her legs by allowing it to fly. It was taken from a Ruin Hunter and works in the same way.
Secondary Power Core (Adeptal Core)
This Core is located at Daisy's left forearm and is a result of mixing Ruin and Adeptal technology. As a result, it is much more durable and can protect itself even when operating at an overcharge state; Adeptal Talismans will form a seal over this Core to prevent damage from external sources. It mostly powers Daisy's large arm shield, mounted directly onto the same forearm, and assists in providing energy for powerful attacks. It has a lower power output than the Primary Core; should the latter be overloaded, the Secondary Core can restore partial functionality.
Command Core
Created from the Central Command Unit found in Inazuma, this Core is contained deep within Daisy's armor. It grants Daisy a high level of authority amongst other Ruin Machines, causing them to obey its orders. It can override the previous orders of lower-tier Machines like Ruin Sentinels, while advanced ones like the Aeonblight Drake may choose not to obey. This Core also serves to improve Daisy's cognitive abilities.
Primal Core
This Core was scavenged from a Primal Construct in Sumeru and integrated with Ruin technology. It takes the shape of a hollow triangle, floating behind Daisy, and a smaller triangular prism directly embedded in its back. This Core allows Daisy to enter a stealthed state, where it is nearly invisible. Using the power provided by both Power Cores, this state can be sustained indefinitely, although her offensive capabilities are greatly reduced while doing so, and a Catalyze reaction will interrupt it in a manner similar to the Primal Constructs.
Other
Daisy is equipped with a great number of sensors and modules to understand the world around her. She has the human senses of sight, hearing, and touch, but lacks the senses of taste and smell. Her sight is greater than a normal human's: she can see wavelengths of light beyond standard human range, as well as zoom and capture images for future use. Her hearing is also unique in that she can amplify and filter sounds that she receives. Her sense of touch, however, is weak, capable of detecting pressure and little else.
In addition, Daisy has other sensors that detect chemicals, altitude, inertia, and more. She has an in-built communications unit for communicating with other robots like her.
Stories
Character details:
My name is Daisy, Ruin Architect. Previously, I was also known as Field Tiller Hu-41994. Now I act as Esmeralda's friend and guardian.
Friends of hers are always welcome. To those who come with good intentions, I shall bring no harm, and protect them to the best of my ability.
To those who would seek to bring harm and destruction: a warning. Esmeralda is kind and forgiving, and by her request I shall try to spare your lives. Only when necessary shall I employ lethal force. Do not make it necessary.
And if you make even Esmeralda angry, then you face not just me, but Legacy and the legions under her command. Then, there is no way out.
Character story 1:
Khaenri'ah, the Fallen Nation, was the place of my creation. Over five hundred years ago, I was built in a factory and given a serial number, Hu-41994. My purpose then was simple and clear: to eliminate anything deemed a threat by my superiors. First, I was just a guardian, patrolling the kingdom. Then, the event known nowadays as the Cataclysm occoured. The greatest war since my creation. A war against Gods and Celestia itself.
I was a foot soldier, ill equipped for battles of such scale. Dragons the size of mountains wade into battle, and immense metal constructs rose to meet them. I believe you know them as Ruin Golems. Some still exist, dotted around Sumeru.
While the war raged and landscapes were torn asunder, I was assigned to help hold the area now known as Stormterror's Lair. There I encountered Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. I was crippled by him - such was his power that I do not think he even meant to. Physically, the damage was minimal. But part of my memory was damaged, causing me to lose much of my original purpose. That, I believe, helped me to break free from my past.
Character story 2:
Mondstadt, the Nation of Freedom, was the location of my first awakening. I find that fitting. In the Ruins of Decarabian's tower, I first became aware of the world in a manner I have never known. I saw the hills as part of the landscape's beauty, not an advantageous position. I saw the greats ruins of old Mondstadt, as a momument to ancient civilization and not cover from opposing attacks. I saw the young, curious girl in front of me. I did not think of her as an enemy. She was my creator and my friend, and I thought she was beautiful.
She gave me an order then, an order never spoken again. In blind rgae she told me to kill, and I knew that she regretted it afterwards. She gave me a name, then: Daisy, as you know. And from then forth I vowed to defend her. She shies away from killing, as do I. But should it be necessary, I will not hold back in protecting her from threats. If they must be eliminated, then so be it.
Character story 3:
Liyue, the Nation of Contracts, was where I was severely damaged. It was the most extensive injury I had ever received, save for the incident that left me dormant for 500 years. My entire left arm had been ripped off by the Ruin Hunter. Although crippling, it was not critical. More concerning was that Esmeralda felt the pain as her own. Temporary as it was, it was a cause for concern.
After that, Esmeralda and I met an adeptus, Cloud Retainer. With her knowledge, she helped to repair and improve my left arm. I also took the opportunity to discreetly weaken my connection to Esmeralda. I would take the hits for her; there is no need for her to suffer when I am hurt. I could handle it.
Perhaps that was a mistake. Or at least, it was too hurried. We met Morax some time later, although I believe he goes by Zhong Li now. Old instincts flared up when I met him. Before Esmeralda first awakened me, my last memory was battling Barbatos. My combat instincts and old orders must have been still active - to destroy the Archons. Perhaps if I had not weakened our bond, Esmeralda could have helped me maintain control. As it were, she was forced to override my systems and force me to shut down before I did something regrettable. That... was my greatest regret.
Character story 4:
Inazuma, the Nation of Eternity, granted me authority over my kind. Here, Esmeralda retrieved a Command Core from a forgotten cave and integrated it into my systems. I do not know if she knew the full extent of what she was doing; perhaps she though that it had information that I could use. Nevertheless, I now have the ability to command other automatons, which I was never meant to have.
This made our future adventures easier. Never again would the incident with the Ruin Hunter happen again; I could simply order it to stand down. That, and the loyalty of Legacy, the Eternal Automaton Command Core, paved the way for a more peaceful adventure.
We machines have such rigid command structures. The humans in Inazuma, however, appear to have recently rebelled against their own. They knew that they faced a near impossible challenge: to overcome the will of the God of Eternity. Yet they drove forward anyway. What could have pushed them so? I truly do admire their spirit, if not their actions.
Character story 5:
Sumeru, the Nation of Knowledge, is where I gained a Vision and achieved full awakening. At that point, I had the combined abilities of Khaenri'ah technology, Adeptal magic, King Deshret technology, and Esmeralda's own Improvements. Also at that moment, Esmeralda was in grave danger. I think that the latter was the main reason for my awakening.
I remember meeting several interesting people there. Buer, the God of Knowledge, knew of my existence and prohibited Esmeralda from researching artificial life. Perhaps that was for the best. Her original strategy was never going to work; true life could not be programmed. Like the Wanderer that we had met, it was experience that led us to find our true selves. I had been through so much with Esmeralda. Those experiences make me who I am today. It is my hope that we can continue exploring the world together. Whatever she desires, I will remain at her side.
Vision:
Are you surprised that a machine can gain a Vision? It is not without precedence. The one you know as Wanderer is the same. Visions are, in essence, manifestations of a person's ambitions. If, then, an artificial lifeform such as I have a strong enough desire, then I, too, can awaken this power.
I will use it to protect Esmeralda and those she holds close. Of course, I would do that even if I had not acquired this strength. It adds to my arsenal.
Esmeralda:
Esmeralda is many things. A dedicated researcher, focused on machines and artificial intelligence. A skilled builder, capable of constructing and maintaining complex machines. A bright-eyed child, curious of the world around her. A dear friend... and my creator and commander.
She had changed much since I first knew her. Her skills, both mechanical and social, have improved. Her research direction has changed. Beur was the primary cause of that - forbidding her primary path of artificial life. She focuses now more on the mechanical side, seeking knowledge from around the world to improve her proudest creation. Me.
With this new strength I vow to protect her. My shields and walls shall protect her from physical harm; my enhanced intelligence shall identify those who would trick or manipulate her and shut them down. Let her remain kind and pure, protected from malicious influence. Let her create the greatest machine the world has ever seen.
Story Quotes
About us - Thoughts: Class... Unknown. Odd. My automatic systems cannot classify your combat abilities. Perhaps it is due to your otherworldly nature. From what I have observed, your combat skills are above most Vision wielders, placing you no less than class 4. If the rumors of your battles against various divine entities are to be trusted, you could be class 6 or 7.
About us - Friends: You are one of Esmeralda's closest friends. As such I shall be at your command, unless it contradicts Esmeralda herself.
About Esmeralda - Thoughts: Class 2. Compared to other Vision holders, her combat capabilities are weak. That is what I am here for.
About Esmeralda - Loneliness: She is lonely. I believe that that is one of the driving factors that led to my creation. I will continue to accompany her, but I alone may not be enough. You should visit her more; I think she likes you.
About Ariel: Class 3. Powerful and devoted to the divine. Her fury comes easily, but she can control it, most of the time. Esmeralda thinks of her highly, but I will be prepared if she ever loses control of her temper.
About Albedo: Class 5, artificial lifeform. He is incredibly talented and knowledgeable; Esmeralda trusts him. Still, there is something within him that poses a great danger, should it ever be released. I intend to keep a close eye on him whenever possible.
About Rosaria: Class 3. Guardian of Mondstadt at night. Like me, she keeps track of potential dangers. For her, that includes me. Although I do not have any intent on wonton destruction, I commend her diligence.
About Barbatos: Class 7, Anemo Archon. He appears to have lost a significant portion of his powers since he critically damaged me five hundred years ago. I do not hold that against him. That version of me... had died long ago.
About Xiao: Class 5. Sole survivor of the 5 original Yahshas, defender of Liyue. I have fought Yaksha before. They are highly dangerous foes. I do not wish to fight another.
About Morax: Class 7, Geo Archon. He appears to have given up his duties. The last time we met, I tried to attack him unprovoked. I am in greater control of myself now. Perhaps he can forgive me.
About Hu Tao: Class 2. An eccentric funeral director and Morax's direct superior. I wonder if she knows his identity. How would it feel to command an Archon, so much stronger than you? Now that I think about it, their situation is similar to mine and Esmeralda's.
About Shenhe: Class 5. She appears to be something between human and Adeptus, and is currently being suppressed. Potentially dangerous, although she did aid Esmeralda and I. Unless her restraints are removed, I would consider her friendly.
About Cloud Retainer: Class 5, Adeptus. She is skilled with machinery; a significant amount of my capabilities came from her work.
About Baal: Class 7, Electro Archon. She took the role after Beezubul died in the Cataclysm, but I know little else about her.
About Kamisato Ayato: Class 3. A cunning man with many resources at his disposal.
About Solomon: Class 4, elemental lifeform. He currently works for Ayato. I do not understand why.
About Gorou: Class 2. General of the Watatsumi army. Still, he did not act like one; he appeared to be working hard to make his troops trust him. We machines have never had such issues. Orders were to be obeyed.
About Buer: Class 7, Dendro Archon. She had explicitly forbidden Esmeralda's research on artificial life and used a device to spy on her. I do not begrudge her for wishing to prevent another Cataclysm.
About Faruzan: Class 2. Esmeralda's old teacher, before I existed. Esmeralda respects her greatly.
About Dehya: Class 3. Dunyazard's guardian, as I am Esmeralda's. I could tell that she really cares about both Dunyazard and Esmeralda, despite having only recently met. I would like to be more like her.
About Candace: Class 3. She has her duty to fulfill, as do I. I admire her devotion.
About Kaveh: Class 2. He is kind and naive, just like Esmeralda. A noble yet dangerous mindset. Esmeralda has me to protect her, but he has nothing. How long can his optimism survive?
About the Wanderer: Class 5, artificial lifeform. Mysterious. Dangerous. Avoid if possible.
About Jeht: Class 2. Although she had indirectly caused the incident that injured Esmeralda, she did her best to help after, and so I consider her a friend. I believe Esmeralda does too, for it was not her intention to cause the incident. Should she require aid, we will answer.
