TIMESKIP: ONE WEEK LATER
LOCATION: ALDERA JUNIOR HIGH, PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE
"I'm so proud that two of our best students are going on to such a prestigious school. It was truly an honor to have you two as students". The smile on the man's face was much too forced. The teen supposed he shouldn't be talking though, since the grin on his features was also fake.
"Thank you sir!" He and Katsuki intoned at the same time while bowing.
"Well, that's all I had to say, so you can go back to class". The boys bowed once more, before exiting the office. The awkward walk back to the classroom was thankfully a short one. The two enter only to be met with cheers from their classmates. They walk to their seats and the day continues on as usual; that is if you don't count the rather obvious number of students still trying to become Midoriya's friend.
SpawnOfSatan and TyphoonOfChaos are online.
SpawnOfSatan: Inasa, aren't you supposed to be in class?
TyphoonOfChaos: I could say the same for you.
SpawnOfSatan: It's boring when you already know the lesson.
TyphoonOfChaos: Don't tell me you did it?
SpawnOfSatan: I did.
TyphoonOfChaos: WHY?!
SpawnOfSatan: I WAS BORED OKAY!
TyphoonOfChaos: WHAT STUDENT IN THEIR RIGHT MIND READS THE SYLLABUS?!
SpawnOfSatan: Just go back to class, and leave me to my wallowing.
Megamind is online.
Megamind: I have no words.
Nearly a month and a half passed, meaning the trio would be finding their attendance of UA to be just over the horizon. Fortunately enough, all three of them were in the same class. Said boys are in Shinsou's room, mostly paying attention to what intrigued them the most. Shinsou was playing with one of his three cats, using a laser pointer to keep the feline entertained. Izuku had at least five different light constructs slowly orbiting above his head while doing homework. Inasa on the other hand was subtly eyeing the angel while sitting uncharacteristically silent, fidgeting with a rubix cube. All in all, there was a peaceful air about the three teens, if you didn't take into account their thoughts that is.
'I wonder if dad will let me to get another cat'. The perpetually tired boy thought, angling his hand so the red beam was directly pointing at the scratching post in the corner of the room, the cat following suit.
'Izuku looks so cute when he's thinking!' A rather gentle giant thought, grumbling to himself as soon as he laid eyes on the puzzling cube in his large hand.
'I wonder what those two are thinking?' Izuku asked himself, scribbling the answer to one of the questions before moving to the next one. A shout brought them all out their revelry. Without missing a beat the teens stampede out of the room and basically climb over each other. One is slightly blushing, another's face is blank while doing their best impression of a sun, and the third looks absolutely done with life.
"Didn't mean to scare you kids, Shouta just snuck up on me," said man's chin was resting on his husband's shoulder, looking as tired as his indigo haired son.
"Really dad", the boy deadpanned, pinning his father with an unamused glare. The man didn't budge in the slightest, meeting his son's gaze head-on. The three remaining occupants restarted their conversation without much pause, they'd gotten used to the antics of the zombie duo long ago.
'Why is the door so big?', Izuku idly wondered; his friends were slightly behind him, also marveling at the object in front of them that would be classified as a door. Stepping into the room, they promptly get assaulted with a cacophony of voices. There are a few who keep to themselves: namely a heterochromatic boy and another with a large build and a rocky looking head.
"Get your feet off the desk! It is very disrespectful to the craftsman that made it and the students that sat in it previously!" Izuku takes the seat farthest from the robotic kid and Katsuki. Inasa, on the other hand, seems fine with being in a glaring contest with the explosive blonde. Toshi, as Izuku liked to call him, sat in the empty desk behind his; proceeding to cross him arms over it and putting his head down.
This continued until the door opened once more, the difference being no one could be seen. It took some time before the majority of the class finally noticed a familiar, scruffy looking man standing at the podium. A few students who had yet to stop their conversations jumped a little when the man let out an exaggerated cough.
"Ten seconds", he said offhandedly, "You lot aren't very time sensitive are you?" A short pause followed his statement, the teens staring at him with confusion.
"I'm Aizawa Shouta, your homeroom teacher, put these on and meet me at Field Gamma." Aizawa left not a moment later. Izuku, Inasa, and Hitoshi, scrambled from their desks to the front of the podium. After taking the appropriately sized uniforms they got to the door. Izuku turned around to face the rest of his classmates.
"By the way, Aizawa-sensei isn't a man that should be kept waiting". Without another word, the angel flashed out of existence.
LOCATION: FIELD GAMMA
"Today we'll be doing a Quirk Apprehension Test, or QAT". The erasure hero didn't get to say more as he was interrupted, "What about orientation?"
Letting out a sigh that made him feel like he aged, he continued, "UA isn't like other hero schools, the teachers get free reign over their classes and so on". He paused, checking to see if they were listening, "If we want to do something to our class, we can. Midoriya, what was your score on the softball throw in middle school". The winged boy perked up when his name was called.
"52 meters, sir", Aizawa nodded, tossing him a ball that had a strange metal band wrapped around it.
"Good, step into the circle over there and throw it using your quirk without leaving the circle". The boy nodded, he was already thinking up ways to get the best score. A moment later and his face twisted only marginally in concentration.
As his arm stretched out in front of him, his fingers curled around open air. A bow-elegant and looking to be made out of pure gold manifested in the waiting digits. With the bow, came an arrow; also made from the golden light he produced. Spearing the softball with the arrow he took aim, estimated the best height for the flight of the object. With, one last breath, he let go of the string. In the blink of eye, the arrow-along with the ball-were out of sight.
A few seconds later, the device in Aizawa's hand beeped, the sound causing the class to turn to him. He held up the device, which displayed the symbol for infinity. A bead of silence held for a moment, then without promoting, the class exploded with noise. Various voices overlap each other, making it nigh impossible to understand. So it was a shocker when their teacher suddenly reacted to seemingly nothing.
"You think this is going to be fun?" Izuku saw a pink-skinned girl shiver out of the corner of his eye. ' She must have been the one to piss him off '.
"Over the next three years, UA will train you into the ground. But since we're talking about fun", the man stopped for dramatic effect, a sadistic grin scratching across his face before he continued, "The person who comes in last place will be immediately expelled". A vaguely familiar brown-haired girl was about to speak, but Shinsou covers her mouth while giving her a look. She seems to understand the gesture and stays quiet.
At their teachers words, the students of 1-A grew determined, their faces set in stone. Aizawa's grin widened, "Good; let the games begin".
The QAT went by at a reasonable pace. No one except Uraraka had gotten close to Izuku's score. The only one that had a little less of an outlandish score was a girl named Momo Yaoyorozu. She made a literal cannon and shot the ball from it, granting her 6,177 meters. Inasa was given the third highest, with 1,214 meters. Hitoshi was slightly above middle of the pack.
The repeated side steps were dominated by Izuku, since a certain grape haired boy didn't exist in this universe. The trend followed until the 50 meter dash, where Izuku used his wings instead of teleporting. His other classmates and their teacher quickly took note of it.
"Midoriya, why didn't you just teleport?" Aizawa asked with a slight edge to his tone.
"I already know the time it would take for me; in fact, it would take the same time for any distance with a 6 mile radius", the wing teen explained. Aizawa seemed satisfied with he answer.
The endurance run was a bit more of a level playing field for everyone. The class had been given motion detectors connected to Aizawa's device so he would know when they stopped running and the time would be recorded. They went on for at least 35 minutes before the number of students running dropped drastically. After that, the only ones remaining were Yaoyorozu, Inasa, Todoroki, Bakugou, Shinsou, Iida, and Midoriya.
All were using their quirks in some way or another. The factory that was Momo made a bicycle. Inasa would run for a bit, then start flying with his wind; alternating between the two. Todoroki was doing good coasting on a wave of ice, but it seemed like he would give out because of the cold getting to him. Bakugou took inspiration from the wind maestro, using explosions to propel himself ever so often.
Aizawa decided he'd let them go on for long enough and just marked the same time for each of them. With that being the last test, he gathered his class and proceeded to display the scores. To no ones surprise-and to Katsuki's chagrin-Izuku was placed first, followed by Momo, then Inasa, Shouto, Tenya, Bakugo, Tokoyami, Shoji, Ojiro, Kirishima, Shinsou, and then the rest is canon just without Toru.
"By the way, no one's getting expelled", Aizawa said, just as a girl with long earlobes ducked her head. The teacher continued, "The syllabuses are on your desks by now, grab them before you leave". With his work being done, the man left the students to their own devices, though he didn't leave before glaring disdainfully at an unmistakable tall frame that stood behind the wall. The form shivered, which finally satisfied the underground hero's inner sadist for the day.
LOCATION: BOYS LOCKER ROOM
"THAT WAS SO MANLY, BRO!" A redhead shouted, curling his arm over Izuku shoulder. Some other guys called out in agreement; some even coming to congratulate him. The winged teen inwardly panicked a bit; on the outside, he moved to get out from under the guy's arm, stepping away from the small crowd of teens. Izuku let a sheepish smile crawl onto his face, nodding gratefully.
"Thank you, I appreciate it!" He said nervously. The boy was nice, but he'd rather not have anyone else getting that close to him. Changing a bit faster, he made his way over to Inasa and Hitoshi, who were standing by the door waiting for him. After the little fiasco, the trio of friends exit the room, just as Yaoyorozu opens the door of the Girls Locker Room right next to them.
They exchanged some pleasantries on their way back to the classroom, grabbing the papers on their respective desks. Momo waved them goodbye at the school gates, standing by a black limo. Their first day at UA had taken an unexpected turn, but to Izuku, things seemed to just fall into place; sighing contentedly as he and his friends made their way to the train station.
LOCATION: MUSUTAFU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Hisashi stepped out onto the sidewalk of his home, taking in the bustling city of Musutafu. He was quite excited; of course, anyone would be if they would get to their family again. He would relish seeing his wife and son's shocked faces when he turned up at the apartment.
The man waved down a taxi. As the car started up again, the lights of the suburbs streaking by, he couldn't help but grin with excitement.
Apologies for the late update, been real busy with some things, I'll try to get another chapter up by late April at the most maybe a bit sooner if I can.
