Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 4 of The Luna Wolf. I want to thank those who have left reviews for this story. It truly does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying this story so far. I hope that I do alright with these upcoming chapters. I've always noticed that sometimes I do have a bit of a problem trying to write out stories like this dealing with Captain America the First Avenger movie. Hopefully, I'll do it justice this time around. I know that this chapter is pretty much a pure OG chapter which will deal with the night before everything happens with the courses and then lead up to the grenade section. I think that is the part that will be next. At least for the most part anyways. I hope that you guys enjoy this next chapter. Without further ado Chapter 4. ENJOY!
Chapter 4
Vi sat on her bed running her hands through her hair, her eyes closed as she could still hear the gunfire from the First World War and other wars that she had gotten herself into in her life with her brother. This was the first time in the war that they were separated. Her hands shakily went to her ears as if she was trying to stop the sound of gunfire reverberating in her ears. Her nails began to elongate as the sounds of gunfire continued to ring in her ears.
"Agent Howlett." Dr. Erskine's voice rang out causing the woman to remove her hands from her ears and hide her hands behind her back.
"Yes, Doctor?" Her voice came out thick with emotion.
"May I come in and speak with you?"
"Of course, Doctor. My tent is always open to you." She admitted softly, for him she would always have her tent open to him if he ever needed to talk.
Doctor Erskine came into her tent seeing the young woman sitting on her bed. "You look a tad bit rough." He pointed out seeing the look of distress on her face.
"I'm fine." She said softly, shifting some and looking up at the man.
"With what I know of you, I know that that's not true." Doctor Erskine said, looking at her his brows raised.
Vi let out a soft breath. "I know you've read up on the file that they have on me."
"Yes, and I have to say that there isn't a lot on you. Just what you did in the military." He pointed out as he sat in the chair that was in her tent.
"And for good reason. Personal life should be left out of it. I'm sure that they even have a file on my brother."
"You and your brother have been around for a long while. Both fighting in World War I?" He questioned looking at her.
"I know that you won't tell anyone how old I am…" She admitted softly looking up at him biting her lower lip softly. She didn't want to admit that she was an old lady but it was true even though she didn't look it.
"I think it is a mutation of some kind." He admitted thinking outloud of what he thought of why she was still around. He found it fascinating that she was still alive now.
"Honestly I don't know what it is. I should've been dead years ago." She simply stated as she got up to her feet.
"I won't press the matter. Tell me how our little guy is doing?"
"Rogers?" She questioned her eyes landing on the Doctor her brow pinching together slightly in concern.
Doctor Erskine nodded his head. "Yes, Rogers."
"Honestly." She ran her hand through her hair. "I have to say that he is having a hard time. I mean he's not like the others."
"That is the reason why I chose him."
"I know… but he has the heart and determination. He may not be healthy but I do understand your choice, Dr. Erskine. He's determined to prove himself." Her hand went to her arm, holding it and taking a soft breath.
"You seem to have a connection with him." Dr. Erskine said looking over at her, his brows pinched together.
"Not in the normal way no. I hardly even know the man. But the frailness I do know." She said as she shifted, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Sounds like you speak from experience."
"Oh, yes, I do. My brother and I… are twins and we both were born very frail and sickly. We got sick very easily." She let out a breath. "But one day that all went away. We no longer get sick." She shrugged her shoulders. "I kind of wish I knew how it happened, but I don't."
"You don't have to say any more than you already said. It's your secret and I'm not going to force you to say anything."
Vi nodded her head. "I know that you probably have plans to go over with Mr. Stark."
Dr. Erskine got up to his feet. "I trust you and Agent Carter to give us the full report of how everyone in training camp is doing. You know what to keep an eye for."
Vi nodded her head in agreement. "Sheer determination to protect those around without the cause or care of their own life."
Dr. Erskine got close to her and patted her shoulder warmly. "Exactly. Have a good evening Agent Howlett."
"You too, Doctor." She said softly as she watched him leave her tent. She let out a soft breath knowing that being around a group of sexist men wasn't going to be easy for her or Peggy, but they were going to have to make sure that everything was going in the right direction. The one thing on her mind though was trying to make friends with Steve. She also hoped that he would be able to make it through this rough week that they had planned out. She knew that it wasn't easy being that sickly to even get far in life, but she admired his determination and she knew that he would be just fine.

This is the end of Chapter 4. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I truly did try my best when it came to writing this chapter out. I wanted to make sure that this chapter turned out well as I wrote it because it is an OG chapter. We'll be deep diving into Violet's character more through the story, but we won't deep dive into her past. Honestly it's not good to truly deep dive unless you guys would like to see a deep dive. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to updating. I hope to have a brand new chapter out next week. Until next time.
