I am aware that it has been over a year since I updated this story. No, I fully intent to finish it, but work, time constraints and lack of energy are really taking a toll. So, out of hiatus and back in the fire. In this chapter I will explain the timeline of the story along with the capabilities of the coalition a bit better, because the first description was too lackluster, making the story look too much like the original mass effect instead of a crossover. I do have a rough plan of how to continue this story, it will just take me time to complete. So, here you are...
In this timeline, Albert Einstein uses the chronosphere to erase Adolf Hitler from the time stream in 1924. Because doctor Gregor Zelisnsky removed Einstein from the time stream in 1927, Hitler remains removed. The Nazi Regime never rises to power and Germany becomes a military junta instead. German scientists discover nuclear fission in 1938, but due to the main technological effort being focused on chronosphere technology, spectrum energy weaponry, camuflage and satellites, fission remains a mere curiosity and receives little interest and funding. Iosef Stalin, general secretary of the Soviet Union began rapid industrialisation, collectivisation and education campaigns to advance the nation, at an enormous cost of lives and individual freedoms. Dissent and riots were crushed swiftly and mercilesly by a numerous and revitalised Red Army. New Britain, France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Greece, Sweden, Spain, Poland and Turkey joined in a defensive alliance in case the Soviet Union decided to invade after the annexation of Finland and the Baltic States in 1940. Tensions were steadily growing, both power blocs treating each other with suspicion and distrust. The few Allied spies that managed to infiltrate the Soviet Union and come back alive brought war plans that showed a full scale of the entire European continent. Allied strategists estimated that the Soviet Union would have to prepare at least until 1948 to be ready for total war, because of Stalin's purges in the military command in 1941 because of Stalin's paranoia and due to the fact that to the casualties sustained against Finland were far higher than acceptable. Extensive fortifications were erected along eastern Poland, eastern Germany, northern Greece, northeast Turkey and mortheast Italy, hoping to discourage the union from attacking. In 1945, mass communist uprisings broke out in several locations around the world, mostly European country colonies. Indochina, India, Yugoslavia, Cuba, China, Indonesia, the Phillipines and many South American and African countries, all of them being either European colonies or Allied aligned nations. All the evidence pointed to the Soviets providing the rebels with weaponry and funding. Envoys were sent to the Soviet presidium, demanding explanations, Iosef Stalin simply answered:
"It is the will of the people to break the chains that bind them. We merely provide them the means to do so. You sit atop your mansions and penthouses, completely uncaring of the suffering of others, all to fuel your capitalist war machine and imperialistic ambitions. For too long you oppressed the populations of your colonies, exploiting the lands watered by the sweat of their brows and stealing the fruits of their labor. You kept them docile with golden promises and when they didn't believe you, you burned their houses, killed their families, tortured their children and threatened them with your armies of thugs and mercenaries. Now they have the means to stand against your tyrannical ways. No longer will your crimes go unanswered."
Stalin turned heel and left the envoys shocked still. The very same day, soviet agents and communist sympathisers infiltrated local and national television news channels all around the globe, broadcasting a message of rebellion and sparking widespread communist revolutions. Such a level of subterfuge was unexpected by the Soviets, forcing the Allied nations to divert a lot of resources into quelling the rebellions, with mixed results. Due to having great warship fleets and superior air power, the allies successfully stopped most of the rebellions from spreading and some from actually succeding. Cuba, Indochina, Yugoslavia and some African nations turned communist, forcing the Allies to withdraw. In 1946, the Soviet Union attacked the European Allied Nations. Poland, the Baltic states, Romania, Turkey, Greece, Sweden, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Eastern Germany have fallen, as the Allies where outnumbered 10.5 million to 1.4 million, despite their superior training, equipment and technology. This World War 2 ended in 3 years with a Soviet victory, dividing Europe between Allied and Soviet spheres of influence. The Soviet Union became a vast and prosperous nation, numbering in nearly 700 million population. The Allied Nations implemented their own measures to increase their population, military power and technologies in order to keep up. This tense state of affairs lasted until 1970, when the new Soviet premier Anatoly Cherdenko, who previously claimed that he desired peaceful coexistance, sparked World War 3. The entirety of Europe, with the exception of Great Britain and Iceland, fell under the Soviets. The United States staunchly opposed the comminists and refused to allow the world becomimg red. 2 years passed until something completely unexpected happened. Japan, head of the Empire of the Rising Sun, assaulted both the remaing Allies and the Soviet Union. The Soviets, with most of their forces tied up pushing west, suffered tremendous casualties and lost all of Eastern and most of central Russia. The Allies lost control of the Pacific and the Indian sea due to Japanese floating fortresses. 1 more year of bitter fighting followed, the Soviet Union losing Western and some of Central Europe, the Allies regaining most of Europe but losing Hawai'i, Alaska and Canada to the Empire. However, the Allies found a way to stop the war. A new weapon of unimaginable destructive power. Nuclear missiles where launched near Moscow and Tokyo, forcing the Soviets and the Imperials to cease fire under threat of annihilation. A shaky peace followed, with the Allies regulating it, until the events of the Uprising. The Soviets and the Imperials had several border conflicts, threatening to spark another war. Fortunately, the Tri-Shot event was a success, cementing the peace between the 3 powers. After the Cairo peace agreement, the future started to seem less bleak. However Futuretech, the biggest private military company in the world, didn't like how they lost so much money from the Allied contracts. Futuretech stole the technologies of all 3 powers and attempted to take over the world, utilising their own new temporal weaponry. It took a coalition of the 3 battered powers to halt Futuretech's ambitions. This event, plus dozens of peacekeeping missions and takimg down hundreds of warlords, cartels, cults and mafias all around the world, fully cemented the alliance of the 3 powers, giving rise to the Terran Coalition. Technological sharing followed, less constrained travel and cultural exchange, stability, peace and prosperity. Space travel started within the solar system became a reality. The prothean ruins on Mars gave another technological edge to the already considerable might of humanity. The combination of human ingenuity and Mass Effect technology allowed humanity to travel across the stars, mostly unconstrained by the mass relays, even to areas of space where no one ever ventured. While the only living alien life forms detected where bacteria or animals, humanity's military remains strong to counter any possible hostile encounter.

There you have it people, a short explanation on how history proceeded in my AU. I will write a new chapter as soon as possible. No, I am not dead, but I am dead tired. Any advice on how to more easily continue writimg will be appreciated. Also, to the guy who sent me that message of how human ships have small crews, the answer is simple. Multiple artificial intelligences to free up human hands and minds. AI driven aircraft, AI guided defences, but human guides and vessel commanders. The creativity and adaptability of the human brain amlgamated with the efficiency and proccessing power of the machine.
