(Blake PoV)

"Well this has certainly been an eventful evening," Ozpin steepled his fingers before me across the small black table.

"Hm?" I wondered.

"I'm sure after a night of thwarting an attempted robbery you just want to go home and take a nap, but I was hoping we might have a chance to talk."

"Of course," I murmured.

"Very good. As you know, to enter my school, one must pass a rigorous entrance exam. Most students do so by spending their time at one of the many preparatory combat schools across the globe. You were an exception. And you passed the exam with flying colors."

"I was raised outside the kingdoms. If you can't fight, you can't survive."

"Well, you have most certainly survived, Blake. I admire your drive. And I am proud to run a school that accepts individuals from all walks of life. Rich, poor, human…" He sipped his coffee. "Faunus…"

I glared at him for a moment.

"Why do you wear that bow, Blake? Why hide who you are?"

"You might be willing to accept the faunus Headmaster but your species is not."

"But we are continuing to take strides to lessen the divide," he responded easily.

"With all due respect you need to take longer strides. Until then, I'd rather avoid any unnecessary attention. I want people to see me for who I am, not what I am."

"And who are you, Blake?" he pressed.

I looked away. "I don't understand the question."

"How did you know Torchwick and the White Fang would be at the docks tonight?"

"I didn't," I answered. "I just happened to be at the right place at the right time."

"You wouldn't be the first. But what happened tonight was not an isolated incident. I may be your headmaster but I am also a hunter. And it is my sworn duty to protect this world from the forces that conspire against it. Are you sure there is nothing else you would like to tell me?"

"I'm sure," I decided.

"Very well. Thank you for your time, Miss Belladonna." He got up and made his way to the door within the small police interrogation room. "If you should ever need to talk to me, please don't hesitate to ask."

I was sketching in a notebook. Adam's symbol, a white rose stained by red as well as his weapon.

"What are you writing?" Yang asked me. She leaned over my shoulder.

"Just going over some notes from last semester." I lied. I shut the book.

Yang caught a grape in her mouth which Nora threw. "Lame," she informed me.

Nora giggled and tossed Yang a grape with her spoon. Yang caught the grape and gave Nora a thumbs up.

Ruby slammed a binder on the table. It was enormous and heavy. "Sisters, friends, Weiss."

"Hey," Weiss protested.

"Ladies I had a dream, a dream that one day the four of us will come together, as a team, and have the most fun anyone has ever had. Ever."

"Did you steal my binder?" Weiss asked her.

"Details aren't important."

"What are you talking about?" I wondered.

"I'm talking about kicking this semester off with a bang."

"I always start with a Yang, eh? Guys?" Yang interrupted. Nora launched an apple and it collided with Yang's forehead. Yang glowered as Nora.

"Look guys, it's been a good two weeks and between more exchange students arriving and the tournament at the end of the year our second semester is going to be great. But classes start back up tomorrow. Which is why I've taken the time to schedule a series of wonderful events for us today."

Yang threw an apple at Nora. It missed and hit someone else. Nora giggled at Yang and Yang growled in frustration.

"I don't know. I think I might sit this one out," I leveled at my team.

"Out or not, I think however we spend this last day we should do it together," Weiss traded easily.

Nora shouted, "I got it!"

A pie collided with Weiss's face. Nora swiftly pointed at Ren who was staring wide eyed at Weiss.

Like that the food fight commenced. Weiss, wielding a pie in each hand, opened fire. Her aim was terrible and she hit Jaune and Pyrrha. They got up quickly and began to assemble themselves. Nora gave a cry of joy and squirted maple syrup at my whole team.

Wielding a sausage, I fought back. I smacked Nora to the ground with it and Ren attacked with a pair of baguettes. Yang met him in the middle with a drumstick in both hands. Weiss swiftly came down with a bottle of ketchup and sprayed it all over Jaune.

Yang knocked Ren upwards. Then down into the floor with ease. Ren threw the bread at Yang and I covered for her. I attacked with my own bread and swiftly dispatched Jaune. He was no match for me. I vanished in a shadow clone which kept moving and knocked him down with the bread. Ruby surfed on a food tray into Pyrrha who deftly blocked and retaliated with her own loaf. She threw it and it collided bodily with Ruby.

"Ruby!" Weiss called out as our leader went down. Weiss summoned a glyph and attacked with her own piercing bread. Jaune tried to get in her way but was no match. I challenged Nora, who was wielding a watermelon. She swiftly rotated it about her body and smashed it into me. Picking up another melon she threw it and it smashed Yang out of the fight.

Weiss attacked Pyrrha. Pyrrha summoned a wall of soda cans which splashed Weiss. The wall of metal drove her back. With a wave of her hand, Pyrrha peppered our whole team with soda.

Then Ruby moved. She summoned a hurricane with her speed which dragged food along with it. She plastered team JNPR against the wall.

Professor Goodwitch stormed in and set the entire room into motion with her telekinesis. She reassembled broken chairs and tables and set the drink stands right. Then she spoke, "children, please don't play with your food."

We were too busy laughing at each other to take her words to heart. Sun paced over to us in his whit et shirt. He had a friend with blue hair, yellow eyes, and a red vest at his side.

"Ruby, Yang, Blake, Ice Queen…"

"WHy does everyone call me that?" Weiss wondered.

"I never got to introduce you to my friend, Neptune."

"You seem like a rowdy bunch," Neptune was shaking his head. "Food fights in the cafeteria?"

"Shut up. Don't be a spoil sport," Sun bit back.

"Whatever, I'm Neptune," Neptune introduced.

"So Neptune, where are you from?" Weiss asked.

"Vale originally but I attend Haven. I don't believe I caught your name, snow angel."

"Um… I'm Weiss," Weiss flushed.

"You have got to be fucking with me," Jaune exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes.

Later in the evening we gathered in our dorm. I made for the door.

"Wait," Weiss interrupted me. I hesitated with an outstretched hand. "Lately you've been withdrawn, antisocial and moody."

"Have you met Blake?" Yang asked rhetorically.

"Which I get is your thing but you've been doing it more. Which is quite frankly unacceptable. You made a promise to me that you would let us know if something was wrong. So what's wrong?"

"I just, I just don't understand how everyone can be so calm."

"You're still thinking about Torchwick?" Ruby observed.

"Torchwick, the White Fang, all of it. Something big is happening and no one is doing anything about it!"

"Ozpin told us not to worry. Between the police and the hunters I'm sure they can handle it," Yang suggested.

I frowned. "Well I'm not. They don't know the white fang like I do."

"Okay, between blowing up nightclubs, stopping thieves, and freedom fighting I'm sure the three of you think you're ready to apprehend these miscreants. But let me once again be the voice of reason. We're students. We're not ready to handle this sort of situation," Weiss pressed.

"But-" Ruby started.

"No," Weiss returned.

"And we may never be ready! Our enemies aren't going to sit around and wait for graduation day." I gestured at the door. "They're out there somewhere planning their next move and none of us know what it is but it's coming. Whether we're ready or not!"

"Okay all in favor of becoming the youngest hunters to ever single handedly take down a corrupt organization conspiring against the Kingdom of Vale say aye."

Yang pumped a fist in the air in enthusiasm. "Yes. I love when you're feisty!"

"I suppose it could be fun…" Weiss trailed off.

"None of you said aye!" Ruby cried despondently.

"Alright then, we're in this together!" I nodded at my friends.

"Let's put together a plan!" Ruby grinned.

Jaune sat next to Weiss in Grimm Studies. "So Weiss you know I was thinking after this we could maybe go grab a bite to eat?" He shot a glance from Weiss to the teacher and back again. "Oh and uh I've got two tickets to that new Datt Maemon movie if you want to make the trip to Vale. I heard it's awesome." He frowned as Weiss continued to ignore him. "And maybe after that we could study together? I mean you're smart and I'm - uh - you know."

Weiss' scroll chirped as the time moved from 3:59 to 4:00. She dismissed that timer with a wave.

Port continued for a moment. ":And then I- oh. Timed that one wrong I guess. Well the stunning conclusion to this story will have to wait. Until next time!" He dismissed the class.

"Weiss? Did you hear me?" Jaune pressed her.

"No, no, no, yes."

Jaune slammed his head into the desk. Yang patted his shoulder as she shuffled past him. "Best of luck next time Jaune."

We made our way to the dorm and changed out of our school girl skirts into combat wear.

"Finally," I breathed. "I thought that class would never end."

"The investigation begins today!" Ruby cried. "Today is the day."

"I'm glad to see we are taking this so seriously' Weiss rolled her eyes.

"Hey we have a plan that is somewhat serious," Yang pointed out.

"Right, everyone remember their roles?"

"You and I will head to the cross continental communications tower and check the Schnee records for any other dust robberies or inconsistencies. Seeing as I'm a member of the family it shouldn't be a problem." Weiss examined her nails as she spoke.

"The White Fang has regular faction meetings to hand out o4der and recruit new members. If I can get in, I can hopefully find out what they are planning," I chimed in.

"I have an old friend in the middle of town who knows everything that goes on in the city. Getting information out of him will be easy," Yang agreed.

"Yeah!" Came a boy's voice. We all turned to the window to see-

"Sun!" I shouted.

"How did you get up there?" Yang demanded.

"Ah its easy I do it all the time."

"You do what?!" Weiss wondered, bewildered and affronted.

"I climb trees all the time," Sun dismissed. Weiss sent him a glare. Sun did a somersault into the room. "So we are finally getting back at that Torchwick guy?" Sun continued.

"We are going to investigate. As a team," I leveraged.

"Sorry sun but we don't want to get friends involved."

"That's dumb. We should always get friends involved. That's why I invited Neptune." Sun gestured at the window.

I poked my head out to spot Neptune on a narrow ledge.

"How did you even get up here?" Ruby wondered as she took a glance.

"Oh I have my ways." Neptune shrugged. "Seriously though, can I come in? We're really high up right now."

"Alright. I'll go with Weiss; Sun you're a faunus so you go with Blake." As Ruby pushed Neptune past Weiss he slipped her a wink. Weiss flushed but recovered quickly. "And Neptune you can go with Yang since she doesn't have a partner. Does that all work?"

"Actually Ruby," Weiss started. "Why don't you go with Yang. She is your sister after all."

"Then who would go with you?" Ruby wondered.

"Well I suppose Neptune could come with me." Weiss trailed an open hand over her chest.

"Nah!" Ruby exclaimed with a dismissal wave.

"But!" Weiss started as Ruby dragged her from the room.

"This is it," I led sun along where two horned guards were letting faunus inside.

" You sure?" I glared at him and unfastened my bow. "Y'know, I'm just gonna take your word for it.

We walked insid with a man announcing "new recruits, keep to the right!"

"I don't get it." Sun said holding a mask in his hands. "If you believe what you're doing is right, why hide who you are?"

"The masks are a symbol. Humanity wanted to make monsters out of us, so we chose to don the faces of monsters"

"Grimm masks... That's kind of dark." I thought of Adam.

"So was the guy who started it." I put on the mask.

"Always sunshine and rainbows with you…" Sun followed suit.

The new recruits to the White Fang were moving in a line to the side of the stage, a mere few dozen compared to the hundreds of white-vested, black-hooded soldiers to their left and up above in the balconies. Sun and I stopped before a massive banner with the claw and wolf head.

"Thank you all for coming. For those of you who are joining us for the first time tonight, allow me to introduce a very special comrade of ours! I can assure you, he is the key to obtaining what we have fought for for so long!" A white fang lieutenant spoke.

"Thank you, thank you!" Roman walked out onto the stage. "Please, hold your applause!"

"What's a human doing here?!" A faunus with deer horns called out.

"I'm glad you asked, 'deerie!' Now, I'll be the first to admit, humans... are the worst." He gave a biting salute. "Case in point. So, I understand why you would like to see us all locked away, or, better yet, killed!"

"So, is he going somewhere with this?" Sun wondered bewildered.

"But, before the claws come out, I'd like to mention the fact that you and I all have a common enemy: the ones in control, the people pulling the strings, the dirty, rotten humans that run our kingdoms. Government, military, even the schools: they're all to blame for your lot in life! And they're all pests that need to be dealt with! Fortunately, I'm the best exterminator around... No offense to any rodents in the room."

He snapped his fingers and the curtain fell revealing a giant robot with the mark of the White Fang painted on its shoulder.

"Whoa, that's a big robot…" Sun whispered.

"How did he get that?" I demanded with heat.

"As some of you may have heard, this right here... is Atlas' newest defense against all the scary things in the world. And thanks to my 'employer,' we've managed to snag a few before they, uh, 'hit the shelves.' Now, many of your brothers have already moved down to our new operation in the southeast. If you'd rather stay within the city, that's fine... But if you're truly ready to fight for what you believe in, this is the arsenal I can provide you. Any questions?" The members of the White Fang roared with applause.

"We should get out of here," I murmured.

"Will all new recruits, please come forward!" The White Fang lieutenant spoke again.

"Fuck," Sun swore. "What are we going to do?"

"I'm thinking…"

Roman leaned on the mech while smoking a cigar. He laughed at the girl beside him before he spotted where we were standing.

"He sees us…" Sun whispered and gave a little wave.

"He can't see in the dark," I observed a junction box on the wall.

I unsheathed gambol shroud and took careful aim. Then I fired and we were plunged into darkness.

"Don't let them get away!" Someone shouted.

"Sun! The window!" I shouted.

"Stop them!" Roman yelled.

We flipped from rooftop to rooftop ove rth esound of metal powering up. The mech burst out the window after us with Roman in the pilot seat.

"So you wouldn't happen to have... oh, I don't know... some form of backup?!"

"On it!" I pulled my scroll.
