Bella's POV

Everything seemed perfect with Edward when I first met him but after some time together he changed. He protected me like he promised he always would but something in him was different, almost like he didn't want to be with me anymore. When he proposed it felt more forced and out of duty than anything else. I don't believe that he really wants to be with me for an eternity and yet here I sit wondering whether I want to marry him. I wonder if he will change me and if we will be happy. I look at the wedding dress behind me and decide I won't marry Edward unless he changes me. I am tired of the lies and tired of him thinking that he is only doing what is best for me when in reality he is just doing what is best for him.

My wedding to Edward was supposed to be something that made me happy and changed how my life would be, I could not have been more wrong. It was bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding but I needed to confirm my fears, was he going to change me like he promised or was this all just a ruse? I slipped out of my room before the others could see me still wearing my robe to go see Edward and I found him waiting in his room and he honestly could not have looked more handsome than he does now. I yanked my mind back to reality knowing that I needed answers before I married him. I know that he claimed to love me but every time I mentioned the change to him he would become angry with me, but now I would get my answers.

"Edward I need to know something," I said barging into his room unannounced but I knew that he knew I was there. I heard him sigh, but he turned around nonetheless.

"Bella you know that it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding." He commented grinning at me.

"I know that, but I needed to ask you something before we went through with this wedding and I know it sounds like I have cold feet, but I needed this question answered," I said to him.

"What could you possibly need to ask me on the day of our wedding that could change the outcome of your choice to be with me?" Edward asked looking a little angry with me, but I was not going to back down this time.

"After we wed will you be changing me into a Vampire like you promised?" I asked him bluntly.

"Not this again Bella." He said with a groan and turned away from me.

"It is an honest question. I am not going to grow old while you get to be immortal. I want to spend an eternity with you." I said to him remaining calm.

"Bella this is too much to ask of me if we are being realistic." Edward sighed.

"What do you mean too much to ask of you? The Volturi demanded that I be changed, are you going to go against them?" I asked him and he turned to look at me.

"There are several ways to keep the Volturi in the dark about you still being human," Edward said turning around to face me once more. His face looked pained but he was denying me the thing that I wanted the most.

"Edward you know what I want and it is not fair for you to deny me something so simple." I ground out.

"Bella I will not take away your humanity just because you want to live forever. That is a selfish reason to leave your family and friends behind." Edward said raising his voice.

"So you will never change me and give me what I desire the most?" I asked looking at him.

"No Bella I will never change you into a vampire because you deserve to live your life as a human and not have that taken from you. This shouldn't be something that will change your choice to marry me." Edward said looking at me with soft eyes.

"You may think that it changes nothing but it changes everything. I will not marry you and I will get what I want. If I have to go to Italy to get it then I will." I ground out and his eyes darkened.

"You will stay away from them." He said in a dark tone.

"Or what Edward, you will kill me. Last time I checked you didn't kill humans, it's against everything that you believe in." I said looking at him.

"I will go and find Jacob and he can force you to stay," Edward said and started to leave.

"Nothing Jacob can say to me will make me want to stay in this God-forsaken town with you. I am not going to marry you and you can't force me to." I said to him.

"Honestly I never wanted to marry you anyway. I was meant to be with Tanya but you were so clingy that it was hard to get rid of you. I am glad that you called off the wedding. If you are going to tear my heart out then I will tear yours out as well. I forbid you from going to Italy and I will make sure that you are never able to leave this town again." Edward yelled and threw and vase across the room in his anger.

"You think that you can stop me, I don't care that you are a vampire nothing will change what I want. I will get it no matter what, even if I have to expose your family to get it." I yelled back and he stepped toward me and grabbed me by the throat, but not enough to hurt me.

"Don't you ever threaten my family or I will end you." He growled.

"Then let me go so that I can leave this place and finally get what I have been wanting. I should have known that you would never give me the thing that I desired the most." I shouted at him and by this time his entire family had heard everything and was shocked by what I had said and chosen to do.

"Bella I did love you at one point, but it became clear with time that you only ever wanted to be a vampire and that you were using me that is why I was seeing Tanya behind your back." Edward sneered at me. I looked behind me to see Alice and Esme looking at me with pure hate in their eyes.

"I knew that this family was nothing more than a joke the moment I laid eyes on you. What kind of vampire only feeds on animals?" I asked with a laugh.

"The kind that has a little piece of humanity left and chooses not to kill people," Esme said with spite in her voice.

"And to believe you were like a mother to me at one point. This family is nothing more than a joke. Edward, you will not stop me from leaving or you risk putting your whole family at risk so consider your options." I said to him.

"I can't believe that you would threaten to expose us, your so-called family, just to get what you want." Alice snarled ready to attack me.

"Leave her Alice, she is worth getting your hands dirty over," Jasper said looking at me disgusted.

"Like you are one to talk about sullying your hands Jasper. How many people have you killed your life in the name of someone you claimed to love?" I asked looking at him.

"That is none of your concern Isabella. I think that you should leave while you still can. There are vampires here that would love to have your head for betraying us the way that you have." Jasper said trying to remain calm.

I darted from the room without a second thought focused on the Cullens. I was upset about not marrying Edward because I did care for him but he never cared for me. If Edward had ever loved me the way he claimed that he did he would have changed me like I asked him to. I would only get what I wanted by using force. I know the Volturi will change me because I can be useful to them. I went home and immediately packed a bag with very few items, only the basics. I grabbed the debit card that I kept hidden that had enough money to get me to Italy. I looked around the room one last time and headed out the door. The moment that I left Forks behind I heard Jacobs howl in the distance, there was no doubt that Edward hadn't told him of my plan and it pained him to know what I was doing. I didn't care anymore though, I wanted to be a vampire and live forever.
