Megaman took his time walking through the park. Just him and Model X for the moment. A bit of rain started to patter down. Megaman held out his hand, and let the droplets hit his hands.
"It feels so nice." he whispered. Model X hovered over to him.
'You'll hace to add 'playing in the rain' to your list.' he said. Megaman nodded, cupping his hands together to let the rain pool in them. The shower ended as quickly as it came, and Megaman let the water drain out of his hands.
"I wonder if it will rain hard enough for puddles." he said. The droplets splattered on the path, bouncing up before they slid away to nothing. Megaman kept walking, smelling the air. Rain smelt wonderful! There was this almost wild scent to it, a clean scent. A bird called out from somewhere, and Megaman looked up just in time to see it soar overhead. He smiled. "I also want to try birdwatching. I found a book, it's a little old, but it has really nice pictures of birds." he said. Model X rested next to his shoulder.
'You keep mentioning a cookbook too.' he said. Megaman blushed slightly, smiling.
"Yeah. I, I need to ask Mama if I can help her cook a meal. And I want to help Papa put together a PET or a computer, or something. And, I want to go to school, just for one day, and, and I," He laughed. "There's just so many things I can do now! Even more than before." he said. Model X glowed brightly.
'I'm glad for you, Megaman.' he said. He tilted his 'head.' 'Are you alright? You stopped so suddenly.' he said. Megaman rubbed at his arm, walking forward again.
"There's also things that I want to try, and, I want to try it with my friends. Roll keeps asking me to describe things in the real world, Gutsman is trying to convince me to see what a real-world gym looks like, and Glide wants to know what food tastes like. They're so excited, now that they know, and, I, I feel selfish." he said, trailing into a whisper. His fists tightened without thinking. "I already have a gift, an amazing one, but it just feels wrong not being able to share it with other people." he said. Model X bumped against his shoulder, like a gentle squeeze.
'Megaman... There's no selfishness in your heart. It's amazing. You don't blame other people, you only give love, and care. I truly wish the world was filled with more people like you.' he said. Megaman glanced up.
"But I still feel like, like it's not fair for my friends." he said. Model X looked at him.
'Have they ever shown resentment for you ability?' he asked. Megaman opened his mouth, then closed it. Smiles, teasing, curiosity, excitement. Because if he could do it, maybe one day they could do it too. Megaman held Model X gently.
"Thanks, Model X. I needed that." he said. Model X glowed softly.
'Sometimes we all need somebody to remind us of something important.' he said. Megaman looked up at the sky, and the sun starting to part through the clouds. The light shone through the park, and made all the droplets of water gleam like crystals. A faint rainbow started to appear in the sky. Megaman laughed.
"A rainbow! I've wanted to see one!" he said. Model X seemed to smile.
'Are you going to try and find a pot of gold?' he teased. Megaman shook his head with a smile.
"That's just a myth!" he said. Even so, he picked up his feet and ran towards the wonder in the sky.
