Chapter 1

AN: I don't own Red Hood, My Hero Academia, Ghost Rider, X-Men, or Frozen. They belong to their respective owners.

AN: I wrote the voice Jason talks to with Steve Buscemi in mind.

"This story is about how I became the greatest hero ever, but it is also about the friend who helped me become the greatest hero. Before I was born people began developing abilities called Quirks. 80% of the population has one, while 20% doesn't. I was born without a quirk. You are probably wondering how I was able to become the greatest hero then. This story starts years ago, before I was born actually. In a world outside our universe."

The crowbar came down and struck him. It hurt, but not like the first ten times. The pain was beginning to dull, not by much though. The crowbar struck again. It was as if the madman was reading his thoughts and began hitting him harder.

Then the Joker hit him in the face. "WOW. That looked like it really hurt." Then the Joker hit him three more times and savored every hit like it was a cheese sample. "Whoa, now hold on. That looked like it hurt a lot more. So, let's try and clear it up shall we pumpkin. What hurts more? A?" The Joker hit him again. "Or B?" And he was hit a second time by the Joker. "Forehand?" The Joker hit him a third time. "Or backhand." The Joker hit him again and began laughing his sadistic laugh.

Jason murmured something. The Joker leaned down and said. "A little louder lamb chop. I think that one of your lungs is collapsed. That tends to always impede the oratory." Jason spit blood up at the Joker. The Joker returned the favor by slamming his face into the floor. "Now that was rude. The first boy blunder had manners." Jason smiled even though it hurt. The Joker wiped the blood off his face. "I suppose that I'll have to teach you some manners. So that you can learn to follow in his footsteps better." The Joker contemplated that for a bit. Then said. "Nah... I think that I'll just keep hitting you with this crowbar." Then the Joker laughed as he hit Jason repeatedly with the crowbar. Jason closed his eyes, wishing he were somewhere else.

After a while the Joker got tired of beating Jason with the crowbar; he put on his overcoat and his hat. He looked at Jason and said. "Okay kiddo I have to go, but it was fun right?" Jason stayed silent. "Well maybe a bit more fun for me than you. I'm just making guesses since your being so quiet. Oh well. Be a good boy, get your homework done, and be in bed by nine. Oh, and if you see the big man tell him I said... hello. The Joker began laughing hysterically and left.

Jason opened his eyes and got to his knees. He slid his handcuffed hands under his legs, so they were in front of him and he tried to stand but fell back down, he looked at the door and figured that it was locked. He crawled towards it and when he got to it was indeed locked. Jason closed his eyes, and he heard it a faint beeping. he looked to his left and saw a bomb. Of course, the Joker planted a bomb. Why wouldn't he? Jason saw it counting down and he knew that he didn't have long.

He crawled to a box he used all of his strength to stand only to fall back down he caught the box and it tipped over on him it was big enough for him to fit under. It was a freaking miracle. He fumbled with his utility belt and found a pellet. It had foam in it. He crushed it and he was enveloped in foam. A few seconds later, he felt the explosion.

As Batman searched the wreckage that was once a building, he found a limp body. He picked it up and wrapped it in his cape. "Jason." Batman said. That was the last thing Jason heard before he went to sleep not expecting to wake up.

Jason was floating in blackness. "Where am I?"

"Well." A voice said from the blackness. "Who have we here?"

"My name is Jason. Jason Todd."

"Well Jason Todd. The reason you are here is because I need your help?"

"You're kidding right? I just died; how can I help you?"

"You can make a choice."

"What choice?"

"Do you want another chance at life? Or do you want to stay dead?"

"I want a chance to live."

"Excellent. I will need to make a Quirk for you seeing as you don't have one, and you will need a team."

"What?"

"Yes. A team. You need a team. Three more should be sufficient."

"I don't understand."

"Here. Pick one." The voice said.

Three boxes appeared in front of Jason.

The first box was black, the second box was red, and the third box was both black and red.

Jason tapped the third box.

"Oh. An excellent choice. Now hold on. This might sting a bit."

Jason felt his entire body change. "What did you do to me!?"

"I gave you your Quirk. Now. The way it works is very simple. You think of an object, and it's summoned to you. You can use it for as long as you want to, or as long as you need it."

"What's the catch?"

"Oh. Nothing really. It's just. The more you use it, the more humanity you lose. It's not much of a catch."

"WHAT!"

"Don't worry. As soon as you are done using it, you'll gain your humanity back. You have nothing to worry about."

"What happens when I use all of my humanity?"

"Oh. You become a berserker who can't be calmed down, and who will destroy the world."

"Then I won't use it. I have my natural skill that I can rely on."

"Yes, yes. Of course. Now. Onto your team. One of your teammates will be of my choosing. You can choose the other two."

"Who are you choosing?"

"One of my bounty hunters. He will be there to help you, and kill you should the need arise, if you commit genocide or something like that. Other than that, he's your friend, and will help you to the best of his abilities."

"Why would I commit genocide?"

"Why does anyone do anything?"

"Where are my other choices for teammates?"

The man behind the voice snapped his fingers and Lights flickered on.

Jason looked around and saw rows of people. "You treat people like shopping supplies!"

"What? No! They are waiting to be reborn. For their second chance as it were."

"Okay." Jason floated through the rows for hours until he spotted a girl with red hair and a white streak. "What's her story?"

"Ah yes. She has flight, super strength, the ability to make stuff blow up, and she can take other people's Quirks. The longer she holds on, the more of the Quirk she takes. If she holds on too long, she takes their Quirk and puts them in a coma."

"Okay. I'll add her to my team. She probably hasn't had many friends, and people were probably afraid of her. So, I'll be her friend."

"An excellent choice. Now. Who's your next pick?"

Jason walked around until he saw a girl a few years older than him. "What about her?"

"He Quirk is ice based. When she was eight years old, she hurt her five-year-old sister and locked herself away for 13 years until she became Queen of her town in Norway. She learned to control her powers through love, and then because of love she sacrificed herself to bring unity to her kingdom."

"She looks so... sad."

"Yeah. Dying will do that to you."

"Add her to my team."

"Okay. So, we've got two hotheads, an ice Queen, and a girl who can't touch anyone or she could kill them."

"Is that it?"

"Nope." The disembodied voice said. "This is."

Jason felt pressure behind his eyes before passing out.

"Jason," A comforting female voice said. "Jason sweetheart. It's time to get up."

Jason opened his eyes and saw a woman. She looked familiar.

"Come on Jason. It's almost time to go to school."

Jason took a bath, ate breakfast, and walked to school with the woman. She was his mom in this world, but why did she look so familiar.

"Good morning Sheila," A slight woman with forest green hair and eyes that shined said.

"Good morning Inko," Sheila said back.

It was his biological mom from the previous life. He'd been given a second chance with her.

When they got to his school, he hugged her tightly and went into class. He sat down and his hands started itching. He scratched them.

"Okay." The teacher said, Jason couldn't remember her name. "Everyone grab your safety scissors."

Jason reached for his safety scissors, but a pair of black and red scissors appeared in his hands. They weren't hot, but they startled him for a second.

"Congratulations Todd," The teacher said coming up to him. "You have gotten your Quirk. May I see them?"

Jason handed the teacher the scissors.

"Ouch!" The teacher said when she touched them.

Jason looked at her hand and saw burned skin. "I'm sorry." He said picking up the scissors.

"Don't worry Todd," The teacher said. "You have a great Quirk."

Jason looked at the scissors. Why was he able to use them, and no one else?

He saw a kid with messy green hair who looked sad. So, he went over to him.

"Hi. My name is Jason Todd. What's your name?"

The kid looked around himself; seeing no one else around he asked: "Me?"

"Yes, you."

"Midoriya Izuku."

"Why are you sad Midoriya?"

"I don't have a Quirk. Yours is so cool."

"You'll get your Quirk someday."

"Deku is Quirkless," An annoying voice said from behind Jason. "He's almost five and hasn't gotten his Quirk yet, which means he won't get a Quirk!"

"How do you know?" Jason asked turning to face the kid. "For all you know he's just a late bloomer or maybe his body just can't handle his Quirk yet."

"Because. He can't possibly have a quirk. He's too weak?"

"Do you have a quirk?" Jason asked the explosive kid. What was his name?

"Yeah!" The kid created explosions in his hands

Jason grabbed the kid's wrist, he'd done this in the alternate universe, but his body was so small that he didn't know if he could do it. He spun and flipped the kid. "Don't think you're better than anyone because you have a flashy Quirk."

Jason turned back to Midoriya when he heard popping. He turned back to the kid and saw that he was creating explosions with his hands.

"I'll make you pay for that," The kid said.

Jason created twin batarangs.

"BOYS!" Their teacher yelled.

Jason looked at the teacher.

"It's great that you both have your Quirks, but no fighting in class."

Jason dropped the batarangs and they disappeared.

The rest of the day was quiet, and eventually it was time to head home.

After school Jason and Izuku were walking when the hairs on the back of Jason's neck stood up, and he shoved Izuku out of the way.

A fireball hit his arm.

"I'll teach you to do that to me!" The explosion kid yelled.

Jason looked at his arm, there was some soot, but other than that he was fine.

The kid sneered. "Do you think that you're better than me because my Quirk can't hurt you?!"

"Hey!" A kid with blond hair and blue eyes said. "What's going on here?"

"I'll make you pay," The explosive kid said.

Jason looked at the blond and felt a connection to him. "Are you one of the ones that voice said would help me?" He asked the kid.

"Yeah. Johnny Blaze," The kid said offering his hand. "The others are over there."

Jason looked towards the others and saw two girls. One had white blond hair, and the other had auburn hair with a white streak.

"Don't ignore me!" The kid yelled.

"Katsuki!" A female voice said. "You got your Quirk. Come tell me about it."

Katsuki ran to the voice.

Jason looked at Izuku and saw that he had skinned his knee when Jason pushed him.

"Midoriya! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push you so hard. Here. Let's take you to my mom. Her Quirk is a healing Quirk called 'Augment'. It Augments the person's body to heal itself."

Johnny helped put Midoriya on Jason's back, and they walked to Sheila Todd.

"So how is my body able to do this?" Jason asked Johnny.

"You still have your memories from your previous life, including muscle memory, you're just stuck in a 4-year old's body." Johnny said.

Jason thought about that. Is that why he wasn't acting like a four-year-old?

The two girls joined him, and they made their way to Sheila Todd.

"Hi Jason," Sheila said. "Are these your friends?"

"Yeah. This is Midoriya. He skinned his knees, can you heal him?"

Sheila looked at Izuku's skinned knees. "I sure can." She said waving her hand over Izuku's knees.

"The pain stopped!" Izuku said. "Thank you," He bowed four or five times in a row. "Can I ask you about your Quirk? Like, does it heal using your body or my body? How much can you heal before needing a break? How much can you heal?"

"You're very welcome," Sheila said. "My Quirk uses Ultraviolet Light that my body stores to heal others. I can absorb the energy during the day and can use it at night. When I'm at the hospital for long shifts I sometimes have to stand under an Ultraviolet Light on my break. It really depends on the injury. I could probably heal more than one hundred skinned knees, or twenty broken bones, or two severe burn victims, or one person in a body cast. I can't heal someone who has passed away, and my body has a natural healing factor, but I couldn't heal myself or cure myself of Cancer or something."

"WOW!" Izuku said.

"Who is everyone else?" Sheila asked. "Do you have your Quirks?"

"I'm Johnny," Johnny said. "Yes, I have my Quirk."

"I'm Elsa," The girl with the white blond hair said. "And I have my Quirk."

"I'm Anna Marie Darkhölme," The girl with red hair and the white streak. "And I have a Quirk too."

"It's nice to meet such nice children. Oh, Jason. Your teacher called and said that you got your Quirk. What is it?"

Jason created a flower and gave it to his mom.

"It's love- OUCH!" Sheila said dropping the flower. She looked at her hand and saw a second degree burn on her fingers.

"I'm sorry mom," Jason said.

"Oh no. It's fine Jason," Sheila said watching her hand heal the burns. "You have a good Quirk; you just have to learn how to control it. What are your Quirks?"

"This is mine," Johnny said changing from his normal look to a fiery skeleton. "I don't know the extent of this, but I can't wait to find out what I can do." He said in a demonic voice.

"Wow. What a... fascinating Quirk," Sheila said.

"I can create ice," Elsa said creating an ice flower for Sheila.

"It's lovely," Sheila said, taking the flower.

"I can borrow other people's Quirks," Anna Marie said, touching Jason on the neck and creating a flower as well and giving it to Jason.

Jason took it, and it didn't burn him.

"I can also fly, and I'm super strong. I can also make stuff blow up."

"Wow. You're very talented, aren't you?"

"Yeah. I got the strength and flight because I drained another superhero of her powers. I got the ability to blow stuff up from my..."

Johnny stomped on her foot.

"Ouch. What was that for?"

"She's kidding about that," Johnny said. "She's just really talented is all. She got the Quirk jackpot because of her mom."

"Okay," Sheila said thinking it was just kids being kids.

"Can we go to the park?" Jason asked thinking it's what a kid his age should say.

"You'd have to ask their parents."

Johnny, Elsa, and Anna Marie went to find their parents.

The slight woman with forest green hair and eyes that shined walked up to them. "Hello Sheila, hello Jason." She waved with a smile that seemed to light up the world.

"Hi Midoriya San," Jason bowed. "Can Izuku come play at the park?"

Inko looked shocked. "I-I guess so." She said shocked at Jason being so vocal now after almost a year of silence. Maybe it was because he was getting used to Japan?"

The others came back with their parents.

"Hi," A woman said to Sheila. "My name is Clara Blaze. Johnny says that he wants to go to the park with a friend from school."

"Hi," Sheila said. "My name is Sheila Haywood. This is my son Jason." She motioned at Jason who smiled and waved.

"My name is Raven Darkhölme," A pale woman with blue eyes and black hair walked up. "My daughter is Anna Marie."

Jason must have been imagining things when he saw the looks his mom and Raven were giving each other, right?

"Hello," A couple said in unison. The man had flushed, fair skin with freckles and red hair with a matching mustache. His eyes were a shade of pale blue that made him more trustworthy somehow. The woman beside him was short and had auburn hair with fair skin and flushed cheeks. She also had freckles and her eyes were the deepest blue that you could drown, just by looking into them. "My name is Agnarr, and this is my wife Iduna. Elsa is our daughter, and this is our 2nd daughter Anna." He said pointing at a small child in Iduna's arms.

"Pleased to meet you," Sheila said. "As I said my name is Sheila Haywood, and this is my son Jason. He wanted to go to the park with his new friends today."

The group agreed and made their way to the park.

When they got to the park the kids ran off to play while the adults stayed and talked. The kids played until Izuku got tired and ran to the adults. He sat next to Anna who was playing on a blanket playing with some toys. She handed him one, and they played while the adults talked.

"So," Jason said. "Who are you guys and what are your Quirks?"

"My name is Rouge," Anna Marie said. "My "Quirk" is Absorption. I absorb strength, memories, super powers, etc. from whoever I touch. I have better control of it than I did so I can take specific things that I want. I did take someone's strength and flight powers, and I took my ex's ability to blow stuff up."

"Cool," Jason said. "What about you?" He asked Elsa.

"My name is Elsa Martin. I have ice magic that I had to learn how to control through love. I have okay control now, but I'm afraid that I might hurt my sister. What happens if I lose control again?"

"Can we help, hon?" Rouge asked with an accent that wasn't there a second ago.

"I don't know."

"I can take your powers for a bit when they get to be too much?"

"Thanks."

"You're welcome sugar."

"My name is Johnny Blaze. I am bound to the spirit of Vengeance, Zarathos, which grants me an abundance of abilities. I can't die, by normal means, I turn into the flaming skeleton, and I can't be hurt by anything other than spiritual or blessed objects to name a few."

"Wow. That's amazing," Jason said. "My name is Jason Peter Todd. As of yesterday, I was a 15-year-old kid who didn't like being held back from taking out the bad guys. They were bad guys. They won't listen, they won't become rehabilitated by going to prison, you need to strike hard and fast and take them out so they can't become a bigger problem."

"So, what happened?" Johnny asked.

"A bastard beat me to death with a crowbar and killed me. Now I'm here."

Johnny looked vengeful. Elsa looked horrified. Rouge looked pissed off.

"So, what do you bring to the table?" Johnny asked after he calmed down a little.

"As far as I can tell I'm stronger, faster, and more agile than I was in the past life. I can do things that a normal four-year-old can't do. I also know how to fight, my fighting style is aggressive, and brutal. As for my Quirk. I can create objects out of thin air, but only I can touch them."

"Sounds like 'Hellfire Creation'," Johnny said.

"What's that?" Rouge asked.

"The user can create objects out of fire and brimstone and only they or people with similar powers can use them."

All of the sudden the ground began shaking.

While the kids talked, so did the adults. Agnarr held Anna while Iduna set out a blanket and toys before Agnarr set Anna on the blanket.

"So, Raven," Sheila asked. "What's your Quirk?"

"Oh. My Quirk is 'shapeshifting'. I can turn into different people and the such, I don't gain their full power or anything, just enough to be convincing. Anna Marie's Quirk is 'Absorption'."

"That can be a dangerous Quirk though," Agnarr said.

"It can be, but I'm teaching her to control it as best I can."

"Is her father in the picture?" Iduna asked.

"No," Raven sighed. "He's Quirkless, and was abusive towards Anna Marie."

"That's terrible!" Sheila said.

"Yeah, but what are you going to do about it? I kicked him out when I found out. I called the cops after I calmed down and realized what I'd done."

"My Quirk is 'Augment'," Sheila said. "I hope you don't mind Inko, but Izuku skinned his knees at school. I healed him."

"Oh. Thank you," Inko said. "My name is Midoriya Inko. Midoriya Izuku is my son. My Quirk is the ability to draw small objects towards me. It's called 'Attraction'."

Izuku came back and began playing with Anna.

Sheila looked at Agnarr and Iduna. "You're Elsa's parents, right?"

"Yes. My name is Agnarr, and this is my wife Iduna. My Quirk is I can control the wind, and Iduna can control fire, Elsa can control Ice. We are hoping that Anna can control water or earth."

"Why one of those?" Sheila asked.

"My family has had elemental Quirks for generations. My great, great grandfather had a lightning Quirk."

"Okay."

"You're Johnny's mother," Sheila asked a woman with blonde hair.

"Yes. My name is Clara, I'm afraid my Quirk is actually very dangerous. I secrete acid through my saliva. I'm naturally immune to it, but my husband isn't, and Johnny's quirk keeps him safe."

"What is your husbands Quirk?" Sheila asked.

"He's a Technopath. He is really good with technology, and we own the bike shop on main street."

"Okay..." Sheila was interrupted by the ground shaking.

Izuku looked over and saw his friends, and watched in amazement and horror as he saw who they were.

Jason was wearing a red and black suit with mask covering his eyes, yellow R over his heart, and utility belt on his waist.

Elsa was wearing a dress that dragged the floor, and glittered in the sunlight, her hair was in a braid that went down her back, and a pair of heels.

Rouge wore a yellow, and green jumpsuit with an X on the belt. She wore a brown Jacket, and the whole top of her hair was white with the majority of it auburn.

Johnny wore a black motorcycle jacket with spikes on the shoulders and wrists. A pair of blue jeans, and black motorcycle boots. He had a chain that went from his left shoulder to his right hip, and a shotgun from his right shoulder to left hip.

"Whoa," Midoriya said in awe.

The ground erupted in a plume of dirt, grass, trees, and playground equipment.

Jason spun around and saw a giant worm.

"Fear me!" The villain yelled.

Jason thought of the batarangs and they appeared in his hands.

He looked over and saw Rouge, Elsa, and Johnny in similar battle stances.

"Elsa. Can you freeze him so we can hit him?"

"I can try."

"Johnny. What do you need?"

"Got a chain?"

Jason thought of a chain whip, and one appeared. "Here you go."

"Thanks," Johnny said taking the chain.

"Can I borrow some of your power?" Rouge said.

Jason put his hand out for her to slap.

She did, and he saw her make a deck of cards. "First we charge the card," She said. "Then. We throw it," She threw the card at the worm villain.

"Let's move," Jason said.

Jason forgot that he was a four-year-old, because he ran out of energy after a few seconds. He looked over at the others and saw that they were the same way.

"JASON!" Sheila yelled.

"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!" A loud booming voice laughed. "AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!"

"All Might!" Midoriya and Sheila yelled in unison.

"Don't worry! Why? Because I am here!"

Jason watched as a Hero he'd seen many times on TV was now standing in front of him. He was amazed by his power. He could feel it from here.

"You'll make a fine hero one day young man," All Might said to Jason. "You all will, but until then. Leave this to the professionals. NEVADA! SMASH!" All Might yelled punching the worm Villain away."

Why was Jason getting so excited? He'd met Superman in his previous life, so why was he all giddy all of the sudden.

"JASON TODD!" Sheila yelled. "What was the meaning of running out like that? I couldn't stand it if I lost you." She said wrapping him in a hug.

"I don't know," Jason said. "I just had this feeling to keep everyone safe."

"And that is what makes a true hero," All might said coming up to them. "Each hero says that they had a defining moment where their legs moved on their own, keep up the good work, and you will be a hero someday."

Jason looked up at All Might in awe. 'Wait. What am I doing? He's just like Superman, right? I wouldn't act like this around Superman. Why am I acting like this around All Might?'

All Might jumped into the air and he was gone.

The group went their separate ways.

One year later.

Jason ran as hard and as fast as he could. He had to get to Izuku's apartment fast.

He knocked on the door of their apartment.

Inko opened the door. "Hello Jason," She sighed a heavy sigh.

"Did Izuku find out?"

"You can ask him yourself," She moved out of the way.

Jason went to the computer room and saw Izuku watching the same video they had grown to love over the past year. "Izuku?"

Midoriya turned around with tears in his eyes. He pointed at the screen and asked in a broken voice. "Can I still become a hero... without a Quirk?"

Jason felt like someone had kicked him in the gut. He got his breathing under control. He'd been a Hero without a Quirk, Izuku could too. "Yes," He said firmly. "Yes. You can still be a hero."

Midoriya's face lit up. "Really?"

"Yes. I can help train you to become strong. You don't need a Quirk to be a hero."

"Really?"

"Really."

It had been quite for a while, and Inko went to check on the boys. When she opened the door to the computer room, she was shocked. Izuku wasn't crying. Instead he was exercising.

"Nine... huff, huff... ten." Izuku said dropping.

"That was good," Jason said. "Next is sit-ups." Jason got into a sit-up position and started with those.

After he did ten, Izuku followed.

Jason did several exercises and showed Izuku how to do them. It brought a smile to Inko's face. Jason was a good friend.

"If you do these every day," Jason said. "You can become a hero."
