It has been a week ever since everyone a part of the black diaspora has gained godlike powers and the week has been hectic as fuck as the world has changed a lot in such a short of amount time.
First, gang violence is no a longer thing in the black community as guns don't hurt them. So they resort to using their powers. That also didn't last long because the black community quickly found out they could regenerate from anything and it didn't help that their stamina and endurance had been enhanced to a godly level as multiple have fought for hours without getting tired, so they stopped fighting and awkwardly went their separate ways. Also, they quickly found out they have immortality now as people in their 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. found their bodies in their 20s again which caused a lot of joy and happiness in the older black folks as they no longer have to ache pain and are enjoying their old vigor except better this time as their powers have enhanced of what their bodies are capable of. The younger black folks, on the other hand, were happy for the older black folks in their families, but they have to admit...it so fucking weird to see the older black folks in their prime again and it didn't help that majority of them have active sex lives again, which destroy their image of their older family members.
In the nonblack communities. Whew, they are in a mess as mixed reactions are going in. On one hand, some of them are optimistic about this new development and have faith that the black community will use their new abilities for goodness and to make the earth a better place. On the other hand, some of them are paranoid and think the black community will subjugate the earth to their rule. So a lot of nazis and white supremacists held protests...which didn't end well for them as they quickly found out that guns, bombs, cars, explosives, tear gas, etc. No longer work on black folks as the black folks shrugged all that shit off and fight back. Thanks to them gaining godlike abilities, the black community is more comfortable with confrontation and fighting which sucks for racists as they wanted to prove their superiority to the blacks by ganging up on them but now, they can't as they ain't trying to get burned, drowned, electrocuted, or whatever superpowers that black folks. However, deep down, they are more afraid of what their ancestors did to the black community...they fear that the black community will treat them the same way they treat them now that they have power over them.
Fortunately for them, the black community shows no intention of doing that as most of them use their powers to improve their lives or the people they care about. Not only that, the black community has been using their powers for good as they prevented a lot of natural disasters or helped with the relief as they used their powers to make construction go faster. Not only that, but global warming is not a concern as the black community uses their powers to help the ecosystem or get rid of trash in places where it doesn't belong.
The governments are seething at this new development as the black community has changed how the world works. First, the world economy has collapsed and capitalism may be gone forever as the black community uses their new powers to find lost treasure or to bring meteorites to Earth to amass wealth. Not only that, but a man named Zyrell made capitalism a thing of the past as he brought Psyche to Earth and mined it, and spread it evenly across the globe. They tried to hunt him down, but no matter what they tried, nothing could get past his skin and they quickly backed away once they heard that the black community was planning to strike back if they kept harassing Zyrell. Not only that, but a lot of black folks have quit government official jobs once they heard of the plans that the government has for them and because of that, a lot of them decided to leak government docs online. Which caused even more mass hysteria as the public found out about the existence of aliens. Okay, that one actually doesn't cause mass hysteria as everyone had a hunch that aliens existed. But what caused mass hysteria when the black community confirmed the existence of gods and goddesses, angels, devils, vampires, heaven and hell, other realms that co-exist with them, and that the multiverse is a real fucking thing. Which caused a massive amount of unrest around the world. Thanks to the leaked documents, black people from everywhere realized they had more in common with each other, and the internalized anti-black sentiment they had against each other slowly disappeared the more they interacted with each other cultures. The black diaspora is healing and becoming a more united front. The black community got used to the new reality pretty quickly, but they had a feeling that their lives were only going to get weirder and more complicated from here on and out.
Washington D.C., White House, 2:24 P.M.
Elbert taps his foot impatiently as he and the other members wait for the president and vice president to come into the meeting room.
'We have an urgent matter to discuss and the President,' Elbert thought as he sighed. 'Typical. It certainly a time to be the secretary of the state.' It hasn't been easy for him. First, he have to deal with the fact that a lot of black people left the military once they got power. Claiming their heightened senses gives them a new perspective of life. Which he called bullshit as he doubt that the powers really did have an effect on their perspective and are just using their powers as an excuse to be lazy like the hoodlums they are.
Elbert snapped out of his thoughts when the door opened and saw the vice president, Matthew walking in as he took a seat. "Where is the President?"
"He couldn't make it saying 'He had more important matters to attend to,'" Matthew said with a scowl.
Elbert scoffed. 'Incompetent as always. What could be more important than this?' He thought before saying. "Well, let's just get this meeting underway then. The black community is becoming too much of a problem."
Matthew snorts. "Like they weren't before, they have always been a problem. It's just worse now that they have powers and can freely defy us with no fear of repercussions. We tried to give them a choice to come with us so we can study them," The government has indeed tried to study black people by asking for their consent. It didn't work as they intended as black people usually ran from them as they were aware of how this country felt about them. So, they tried kidnapping black folks. That also didn't go as intended as no matter how many men they bring...the black people usually shrugged them off and escaped. 'Now, that I think about...that was a pretty stupid move as we have videos of black people lifting cargo ships with one hand,' Matthew mentally facepalms himself for their idiocy.
"We knew that, but it's even worse now that they are actually unifying and coming together as one," Elbert pointed out. If the secretary of defense is being honest with himself, he expected the black community would take themselves out once he heard they have powers now. He didn't take into the black community would have an absurd level of regeneration and immortality as well if the reports he had heard about were true. And to hear that the black diaspora is actually becoming closer than ever...put a level of fear in him that he didn't was possible. All he knows is, that something needs to be done about the black community because the world order is out of order now.
"You're right. Not only that, but the world economy is out of control," Matthew scowled at that. "The wealthy have been complaining nonstop about the fall of capitalism. And as much I hate to say it, the world economy was built on black exploitation, and without them participating now, capitalism as we know it is dead and gone."
Elbert looked at him like he had grown a second head. "Umm...did you lose your mind or something? Did we forget that Zyrell was the main cause of the fall of capitalism?" If there was a person that Elbert hates the most in the world, it would be Zyrell. He didn't know the hoodlum personally, but for him to try to make everyone rich...is one way to end up on Elbert's shitlist. He hopes that they are able to find a limit on what black folks are now capable of, so he can his hands on Zyrell.
"I know that, but even if he didn't bring the meteorite to Earth...capitalism would've fallen later than sooner," Matthew said causing Elbert to raise a brow at this. "Think about it, we divide the black community because we depend on them. However, once they gained their powers, they started to become a united force and the world economy was slowly, but surely collapsing once a lot of them decided to quit their jobs and start using their powers for their own gain or to undermine the rich and the powerful."
Elbert thought about it for a second and figured he was right. "Then, we need to find a limit on their abilities and fast, there is no telling what they have in store for us once they decide to get revenge for how we treated them throughout history."
Matthew sighs. "I'm afraid it won't be that easy. All of them are faster than our best cameras, they are strong enough to lift and throw cruises, planes, trains, etc. And they are durable enough to take anything we can throw at them. Even nukes are obsolete against them. And the bad thing is, I'm sure they are unaware of their limits their powers,"
Elbert furrowed his brows at that. "Elaborate on that, Vice President,"
"I saw videos of black people discussing their newfound abilities and I noticed a common theme," Matthew started to explain before narrowing his eyes. "All of them are scared to explore their new powers as they fear they would destroy the solar system or the galaxy if they do."
Elbert's eyes widened in shock at this. "W-what?! It impossible for them to have that much power!"
"I thought so too until I started to dive deeper into it and realized what kind of powers they are wielding," Matthew said as his expression turned into a worried one. "We have gods and goddesses walking among us now. And they are black. The funny thing is, all of them seem so blissfully unaware of how much power they are wielding and are content on asking for equal rights. However, it's only a matter of time before they realize the power they hold and start to subjugate us under their rule or worse...they treat us the same way we treat them in the past."
New York, Harlem, 6:46 P.M.
Zyrell is flying to Tyrell's parents' house.
It's been a while since he has seen them and he is curious about how they are doing.
He landed on their lawn and knocked on the door.
After a couple of seconds, he hears a feminine voice called out.
"Come on in, Zyrell!"
Zyrell opened the door and was greeted with the sight of Tario and Alima sitting on the couch, all snuggled under each other.
"Hello, Zyrell," Tario greeted with a smile on his face.
"Yo, Tario, and Alima," Zyrell greeted back as he took a seat next to them. "So what y'all watching?"
"Eh, not special, just some rom-com movies that Tario wanted to watch," Alima answered as she turned to him. "So how is the flying thing going?"
"Pretty good. I'm getting the hang of it," Zyrell said with a smile. He remembers when he first discovered flying, he was thrilled about it as he always wanted the ability to fly. However, he hard time landing as he always lands face-first on the ground. Thankfully, he quickly got the hang of it. "Y'all settled in with your powers just fine?"
"I have," Tario said with a grin. "Turns out, my flames can get hotter than the sun itself. Not only that, but I can control hellfire and holy fire. Which I wasn't expecting, but I ain't complaining." Tario wasn't expecting any of that as he thought he just could control ordinary fire. Tario got curious tho' and wanted to test the limits of his fire. He quickly finds out that he can control how hot he wants his flames to be and that he can manipulate different types of fire.
"I don't think they are a limit on how many powers I can copy," Alima said. When she first finds out she can copy other people. She made it her mission to find the limit of her abilities. After a week has passed, she concludes that must not be a limit as she doesn't feel tired or she is a hulking monstority like some of the animes or comic books she be reading led her to believe.
Zyrell is flabbergasted at this. "Hmm, interesting,"
Tario tilts his head at the quarterback. "What you on about?"
"It's just that I've been asking friends and family about the limits of our new powers and all of them are saying the same thing," Tario and Alima lean in close. "That it's a possibility that there is no limit to abilities or how far they can go."
Tario and Alima exchanged a glance at each other before looking at Zyrell.
"Huh? We've been getting the same answer as well," Alima said as she stroked her chin in thought. "Well then, something tells me our lives are going to get more interesting from here."
"Hmm, with this power, we can abolish the system that is in place," Tario said before looking at Zyrell with a proud expression. "However, you already destroy capitalism, my boy!" Tario pulled Zyrell into a bear hug.
Zyrell is taken aback by the sudden hug, but he returns it. "That was never my intention, I just wanted everyone to eat,"
"Nonetheless, you made me very proud," Tario smiled as he let go of Zyrell. "Tyrell is very lucky to have a best friend like you."
"And he very lucky to have parents like you two," Zyrell complimented the two of them with a warm smile.
Tario smirked while Alima blushed.
"Oh, you flattered us," Alima said with a slight giggle as she walked to the kitchen. "Anyway, would you like to stay for dinner?"
"Oh, I wouldn't mind, Alima. I enjoy your two company," Zyrell said. "Would Tyrell and Jamila join us?"
"He will not as he and his girlfriend are having dinner at that Sumati's house," Tario said.
Zyrell nods at this. "Ah, okay. Anyway, wanna watch the game?"
"Sure," Tario picks up the remote and changes the channel to the game. The two kicked back and watched the game.
New York, Manhattan, 7:30 P.M.
Tyrell rings the door.
Tyrell and Jamila waited for Sumati to arrive.
"You know, I still don't think we should've dressed this nice for dinner," Tyrell said as he looked over his clothes.
Jamila rolled her eyes. "Now bae, you know I like for us to dress nice for anything. And besides, I'm showing respect as her husband wanted us to look nice."
"I know that, but still, we could've toned it down a little bit,"
Before Jamila could retort, Sumati opened the door.
"Oh, you two made it!" Sumati exclaimed in happiness. "And oh, you two look fantastic!" Sumati examined the two. Her eyes lingered on Tyrell as the clothes were a little tight on him and she could see his muscles.
Jamila clears her throat, snapping Sumati out of her stupor. "Oh, come on in."
The two entered the apartment and took a seat with Sumati.
Tyrell looks around and notices that Navin or her husband isn't there. "Umm...where is your son and husband?"
"Navin is staying a night with a friend and my sweetheart is running a little late," Sumati answered. "Hopefully, he comes soon as the food is getting cold."
As right on cue, her husband enters the house. He hangs his coat and puts the keys in one of the cabinets.
"Baby!" Sumati called out as she got out of her seat and hugged her husband who happily returned the hug. "How was work?"
Her husband sighs. "Honey, we need to talk about that,"
Sumati's smile fell as she could tell by his tone that it wasn't good news. "What is it, honey?"
"They let me go as the company is shutting down," Her husband said with a sigh.
Sumati pulls her husband into a hug again and rubs his back to comfort him.
Tyrell and Jamila awkwardly look at each other as that is the 200 company they heard was shutting down and they feel guilty as hell as they played a part in that as they did use the lost treasure to bring down capitalism.
"Oop," Jamila muttered as she drank the wine that Sumati fixed for them.
"I don't think this is a good time for us to be here, so let's bounce," Tyrell whispered, Jamila nodded in agreement and the two were about to get up from their seat until Sumati turned her attention to them.
"Oh, Ranjit, meet Tyrell and Jamila. These are the two that have saved my and Navin's lives!" Sumati introduced her husband to the two. "Tyrell and Jamila meet Ranjit, my lovely husband!"
Ranjit is surprised to see the two as he wasn't expecting company tonight. "Nice to meet you two, my lovely wife has been talking about you two nonstop. I'm eternally grateful for you two being there." Ranjit thanked them as he bowed in respect.
"Oh, it was nothing, we're just doing what any decent person would've done," Jamila said with a gentle smile.
"And I have to say, my wife said you were beautiful, Jamila, but she didn't tell me you were this beautiful," Ranjit pointed out as he stared at Jamila with a hint of awe in his eyes.
Jamila giggles at the compliment. "Thanks. My boyfriend reminds me every day how beautiful I am,"
Sumati clears her throat, snapping Ranjit out of it. "I made your favorite~,"
Ranjit looks at his wife for a quick second before sitting down and Sumati begins to fix their plates.
"So what is it like to have powers?" Ranjit asked as he was curious how it felt to have powers.
"I ain't going to front you, it's pretty dope," Tyrell answered with a wide grin. "I have to say tho', it feels surreal not to need sleep anymore, as I always feel energized."
Ranjit nods at this. "Interesting, but don't y'all also don't need food and water anymore?"
"Yes, that is true, but I'm still going to eat as I love some food," Jamila grinned. "And I still drink wine every now and then."
"Ah, interesting," Ranjit said. He still can't believe that superpowers are a real thing now. "Let me ask y'all this, do y'all think it a good thing that capitalism is gone?"
Tyrell quickly nods. "Yes, as capitalism did nothing, but feed black oppression. Now with it gone, we are a step closer to liberation."
Ranjit slightly laughs at that. "Of course, you people say that,"
Jamila narrowed her eyes at him. "I'm sorry, but what do you mean by you people?"
Ranjit gulps as he realizes his mistake.
"You mind repeating that again?" Tyrell asked with a menacing smile on his face.
Before Ranjit could attempt to defend himself, Sumati put their plates on the table.
"Food is here!" Sumati announced before taking a seat. "Let's eat."
The dinner was awkward as Ranjit was unusually quiet and was trying his hardest not to look at Tyrell and Jamila's way while Tyrell and Jamila were glaring daggers at him.
Sumati noticed how quiet everyone was and she sensed that there was some tension in the air. "Umm...did I miss something?"
"Nothing important honey," Ranjit said, hoping to not cause an argument.
Sadly for him, Tyrell and Jamila were not letting that slide.
"Excuse me, but you did use you people against me and my bae," Tyrell said.
Sumati looks at her husband with a wtf look. "Honey!"
"Look all I'm saying is, that there was no need to destroy capitalism!" Ranjit retorted. "It was working just fine!"
Jamila snorts at this. "Just fine?! The supply chain completely broke down when COVID-19 hit! Not to mention that inflation was a bitch. Look, I admit, me and Tyrell did play a part in destroying it, but we were hoping that it be a slow process."
Ranjit scoffs at that. "Yeah, right. Maybe if Zyrell didn't want out of his way to make everyone rich, we wouldn't be in this mess,"
"Watch it now," Tyrell scowled. "That's my best friend you're talking about, so choose what you say about him carefully."
Ranjit was about to say something egregious, but he bit his tongue as he is not trying to get his ass beat by Tyrell or Jamila.
Sumati slams her fist on the table, shocking everyone. Ranjit especially as it wasn't like his wife. "Enough, all of you! Listen, I was not planning to talk politics at the dinner table! Especially when it's y'all first time meeting each other! I'm not going to weigh my opinion that as I don't know enough about economics, but enough!"
Ranjit went quiet as he was not used to seeing his wife mad.
"You know what, I just think it best if we leave," Jamila said as she stood up from the table and grabbed Tyrell's hand and the two exited the apartment.
Sumati sighs and looks at her husband while shaking her head.
Ranjit said nothing as he got out of his chair and headed towards to catch up on some sleep.
"As always, you outdid yourself, honey," Tario said as he kissed his baby momma on the cheek.
Alima smiled before pulling Tario into a kiss who happily returned it.
Zyrell patted his stomach. "Man, that was some good food as always, Alima," Zyrell then caught Tario and Alima being lovey-dovey to each other. 'And here those two go being lovey-dovey towards each other. It's funny how the two ain't married or even engaged and yet, they have been together as long Tyrell has been here.'
It's true, Tario and Alima have been with each other for 24 years and yet, the two aren't married. Various friends and family members have pointed it out. But the two always say that need a certificate to prove that they are in love with each other.
'I can't even judge. The two acted like high school sweethearts,' Zyrell thought with a smile. 'Damn, I what want they have.'
Zyrell snaps out of his thoughts when his phone rings.
Zyrell takes the phone out of his pocket and sees Salija is calling him. He answers the phone. "Yo,"
"Oh, I'm so glad you picked up!" Salija lets out a sigh of relief.
Zyrell quickly got concerned as he heard the distress in her voice. "You good? What happening?"
"There is a group of men that have been following for the past hour and they are giving me strange looks!" Salija answered as she heard one of the men whistling at her.
Zyrell's blood went cold at this. "Where you at?"
"I'm at Central Park!"
"I will be there in a jiffy. Don't worry, I'm going to handle this," Zyrell assured.
"Hurry!" That was the last thing Salija said before hanging up her phone.
Zyrell puts his phone back in his pocket and looks over to Tario and Alima who both have worry etched on their faces. "That was Salija and she-"
"-Being followed by a group of men," Tario finished for him. "We heard the full conversation, son and I'll be going as well."
"Me too," Alima said with an expression filled with worry and anger.
Tario looks at his baby momma. "You sure want to join? I don't want you to get hurt,"
Alima nods rapidly. "I'm sure of it. Salija is practically like a daughter I never had so I'm not going to stand by and let her get hurt by a group of men or worse,"
Tario wanted to argue with his wife but decided against it as he has the same sentiment with Salija and gets where Alima is coming from. 'Besides, she has the ability to copy any powers so I'm sure she will copy Zyrell's flight to escape if things get too bad,'
Zyrell was about to argue about them coming with him but he bit his tongue as he knew it wasn't going to work and the more time he wasted here, the more likely that something was going to happen with Salija. He exited the house and quickly took flight to Central Park with Tario and Alima following close behind.
New York, Central Park, 9:15 P.M.
Salija is taking deep breaths to calm herself down.
She has dealt with many creepy men in her life, but she never dealt with fucking 40 men following her.
'Keep calm, Zyrell will be here in a minute,' Salija thought as she slowly picked up her pace. 'I just need to keep walking until he gets here. I doubt the police will be of much help.'
Salija keeps walking until she stops at a dead end.
'Fuck, a dead end! Okay, keep calm! I can get out of this, I just need to be quick on my feet,' Salija thought as she turned and saw the group of men have blocked from escaping.
"Woah woah, where do you think you're going pretty lady?" The leader asked with a smirk. "We haven't properly introduced ourselves! I'm Savino Siano and you are?"
"Fuck off, you prick!" Salija shouted as she gave him the bird.
Savino chuckles. "Oh, you're a feisty one, I like them feisty," He licks his lips at Salija.
Salija winces in disgust and slowly backs away. "Can't you see that I ain't interested?! I told you no before, so take the hint and leave!"
"Oh, I don't think I will," Savino said as he walked closer to Salija. "You're coming with me, whether you like it or not, pretty lady." When he was close, he lift Salija's chin and go for a kiss.
Salija wasn't going for it as she pushed Savino off. "Enough! I ain't interested so leave!"
At this point, Savino had enough of Salija's resistance and choked her. "I didn't want to do this, but you forced my hand!"
Salija is put off by the sudden use of violence and she tries to take Savino's hands off of her, but it was no avail. Salija started to lose consciousness as she felt that she was getting weak and her grip was loosening on Savino's hands.
Salija suddenly gasped for air as she felt that Savino was pushed off of her. Salija rubs her throat to ease the pain.
"You okay, dear?!" Alima asked in concern as she examined Salija's body for any bruises on her "They didn't hurt you, did they?!"
"Alima, what are you doing here?!" Salija asked, she was not expecting Alima to be here. Nonetheless, she welcomed her presence. "And besides that prick choking me, none of them hurt me." She pointed to Savino.
Alima glared daggers at Savino who backed away a bit from her. "I see and we heard the conversation you had with Zyrell. We weren't going to ignore your cry for help."
Salija smiles at Alima as she feels safe in Alima's presence.
"You alright?" Tario questioned as he and Zyrell came from behind her.
Salija is startled by their presence. "Jesus! Announced y'all presence next time."
Zyrell sheepishly scratched his head. "Sorry about that," Zyrell apologized before glaring at Savino. "So you're the one that's been constantly harassing her, huh? Well, this ends today. I suggest you take your crew and bounce. I don't want to hear your name. Got it?"
Savino is a bit intimidated by Zyrell and Tario as the two are tall as hell the two couldn't be more than 6'4 and 6'5 respectively. And it doesn't help that both of them were built like brick shithouses. However, he has outnumbered 4 to 40. "Heh, you're talking big talk for y'all to be outnumbered the way y'all are. Listen, I applaud y'all bravery for stepping in for y'all friend, but this is borderline stupidity! Listen, I suggest you three step aside and let me have this pretty lady."
Tario got in front of Salija. "I'm afraid we can't do it. Listen, it is best for you and your friends to leave or else, y'all won't like the consequences, boy,"
Savino pursed his lips at being called a boy. "Watch your mouth! I'm letting you three off easy for letting y'all have the chance to work away, but y'all are pushing my buttons!"
"Well maybe if you had some decency, you wouldn't be mocked by a group of niggas," Alima retorted with a snarl.
"Okay! That's it, men get them!" Savino commanded.
The men did as he said and charged at them.
"It's been a while since I got into a fight," Tario said while cracking his knuckles. "Let's see if I still got it."
"Salija, stay behind us," Zyrell said. "This won't be long."
"I've never been in a fight before," Alima said in concern before her expression turned into a serious one. "But anything for the people I love."
One of the men got close to Alima and sent a punch to her face. Time seemed to slow down for Alima as the punch was coming at her very, very slow. Alima sidestepped the attack. 'Huh? Neat,' Alima thought as a devious smirk entered her face. She begins to kick the man in the balls multiple times at heightened speeds. Once she was done, time began to move normally again for Alima and the man let out a scream of agony as he fell to the ground while holding his balls. He won't be having any kids. "Serves you right, fuck nigga." Alima scowled. Her hearing picked up a man ran towards her. She turns around and the man jams his knife into Alima's forehead. The knife bent when it made contact with Alima's forehead. The man's eyes widened in shock and he looked at Alima as he slowly began to back away. Alima looks at him with a wtf look before she appears in front of him. The man begins to question his life as he has never seen someone move that fast. He didn't get to question it long as Alima lightly pushed him with one hand. The man is sent flying into bags of trash and he is knocked out cold. Alima covers her face with her hands. "Oh, damn! I don't know my own strength!" 'I have to be careful of my strength, these men may be scum, but I'm not trying to kill them!' Alima thought before catching a bullet between her fingers. Alima turns to see a group of men looking at her with slack-jawed. The man who fired the bullet decided it best to look for a new line of work as he put his gun down and left. With the other men following suit. '...That works, I guess.' Alima did not have this on her bingo card for 2020.
A man sends a haymaker at Zyrell's chest. The hit connected and the two heard a sickening crunch as the man broke his hand causing him to scream. Zyrell cringes a bit. "You do know that it a bad idea to go against a nigga that survived a nuke, right?" Zyrell pointed out. The man sends a glare at Zyrell before pulling his gun and pointing it at Zyrell. "Come on man, you should know that guns don't work against me. I'm sure you have seen news about me." The man wasn't hearing it as he fired five shots at Zyrell. The bullets bounced off Zyrell and Zyrell just sighed. The man ran out of bullets and the man growled and threw down his pistol and put his dukes. "Is this nigga serious? Bruh, how much that nigga is paying you?!" The man said nothing and charged at him. Zyrell just slapped the shit out of him. The man is launched 10 feet in the air and he lands on the ground. Unconscious. "I try to tell you..." Zyrell sighed before he was suddenly grabbed by 25 men. "We got you now! There is no way you can get out of this!" One of them shouted with glee in his voice. Zyrell raised a brow at this. "Wanna bet?" A sly smirk crept on Zyrell's face as he suddenly flew 55 feet in the air. Taking the 25 men with him. The men are taken by surprise by this and they begin to panic and their grip tightens on Zyrell or each other. "We give y'all a chance to give up. However, I'm giving y'all one more chance to give up. If y'all take this chance...don't even bother any more women again and if I catch any news of y'all doing so...then I will break every single bone in y'all body. Do I make myself clear?"
"We hear you loud and clear!" One of the men shouted while rapidly nodding. "Please, put us down!"
Zyrell smiled. "An excellent choice!" Zyrell descends to the ground. Once they were on the ground, the men quickly ran away.
"Freak!" One of them shouted before disappearing into the darkness.
The insult didn't phrase Zyrell as he has been called worse in his life.
Tario took care of the rest of the men by raising his body temperature to a ridiculous degree and they passed out from heat exhaustion. Tario turns his attention to Savino. "Now that just leaves you,"
Savino is unable to move as he is in shock at what he just witnessed. He has heard the news of black people getting superpowers, but he dismissed it as an elaborate hoax by the left-wing media to divide the country even further. However, he can see now that it is real and he is scared out of his mind right now. Luckily, he had called the police.
Tario looks at Salija. "He all yours, Salija. Beat his motherfuckin' ass,"
"With pleasure," Salija said as she walked up to him and punched him in the face hard. Causing Savino to fall to the ground and spit out blood. Salija got on top of him and began to repeatedly in the face. "That is for harassing me every time you see me!" Salija snarled as she did not let up.
Savino tried to get a word, but he couldn't as Salija wasn't hearing any of what he had to say.
Salija stops beating on him to catch her breath as she pants heavily. Her fists are covered in blood and Savino's face is a bloodied and bruised mess with a swollen eye. Savino looks at her with a horrified expression as if he didn't expect this outcome. He wanted to say something, but Salija punched him again. She was about to continue her assault until she heard sirens in the distance.
Zyrell is confused by this as he looks at Tario and Alima. "Did one of you call 12?"
Alima shook her head. "It wasn't me as I don't trust cops with a damn thing,"
"It wasn't me either," Tario said, he is also lost as well.
"If it wasn't you two then Salija...naw, that couldn't be it either as Salija don't trust the police," Zyrell stroked his chin in thought. His eyes wandered around the area to see if there were any witnesses. His eyes landed on Savino and it dawned on him. "Oh, you motherfucker!" Zyrell was about to stomp over to Savino, but he stopped when three police cars stopped a few feet away from them, and the cops got out of the car with guns in their hands and they aimed them at them.
"This is the police! Put your hands where we can see them!" A policewoman shouted with a stern expression before turning her attention at Salija. "Lady, I'm going to need you to step away from Savino!"
The four quickly put their hands in the air and Salija stepped away from Savino.
"Woah now, give us a moment to explain ourselves," Alima said with a nervous smile. "You see-"
The policewoman cut her off. "Save your bullshit excuse for the judge! You four are going to jail for battery and robbery!"
"Oh hell naw, you got us fucked up!" Zyrell angrily shouted as he stomped over to the policewoman. The other police officers all pointed their guns at him in case they had to use deadly force. "First of all, don't jump to conclusions, bitch! Second of all, we were defending our friend!" He pointed to Salija. "From him and his crew filled with bozos!" He then pointed to Savino. "Yet, you automatically assumed that us niggas are guilty! Typical, and y'all punk ass bitches wonder why nobody like y'all."
The policewoman ignores what he said. "I advise you to step away from me or else, I will use deadly force against you. Now, be a good boy and get on the ground, and put your hands on your head. This doesn't have to be more difficult than it has to be."
Zyrell feels a vein pop on his forehead as he is being patronized by this woman.
Seeing that this convo was not getting them anywhere, Tario and Alima exchanged a quick glance and nodded. Tario scooped up Salija and whispered. "Zyrell, let's go. It's obvious that the pigs are on his bitch ass side!"
Zyrell's hearing picks up on Tario's words and he nods. "Fuck allat, y'all kiss my black ass," With that, Zyrell took flight. Tario uses his flames to fly after him and Alima copies Zyrell's ability and follows them
The policewoman's eyes widen in shock. She quickly regained her composure and picked up her walkie-talkie. "All units, suspects are getting away! I repeat suspects are getting away! They are heading towards the Empire State Building!" The policewoman puts her walkie-talkie down and ran to Savion to check up on him while the other police officers chase after the four.
The policewoman crouched down to his level and held his head. "You okay, honey?"
"You...let...them...niggers get away!" Savino groaned out.
"I know, but I promise you, that they will face justice," The policewoman said as she flashed her husband a reassuring smile. "I can tell you that the city is searching for them."
Savion managed to crack a smile. "I'm...happy to...hear that...Alfonsa..." That was the last thing he said before losing consciousness from the injuries he had
Alfonsa frowns before dragging her husband to the police car and putting him in the passenger. 'So the news is true then,' Alfonsa thought. 'I thought it was an elaborate hoax for the libs to divide the country further.' Alfonsa clenched her fists. 'Those four will pay for what they did to my hubby.'
"Stay down," Salija said as she peeked out of the wall and saw two police helicopters looking for them. After a few minutes, they saw nothing and looked elsewhere. Salija lets out a sigh of relief. "The coast is clear now." Salija sits down on the ground and lets out a huge breath.
"How are you feeling, boo?" Alima asked in concern as she knelt down to Salija's level.
"Like shit now that the adrenaline is finally going away," Salija sighed. "And that the situation has only gotten worse."
"Yeah, my bad," Zyrell said as he scratched his head in embarrassment. "I let my temper get the best of me."
"Don't beat yourself over it, young blood," Tario comforted him as he patted Zyrell on the back. "Dealing with the feds would have any black person on edge."
"And besides, we were going to jail on bogus charges!" Salija pointed out with a scowl.
Zyrell takes a deep breath. "You two are right. So what now? We wait on this rooftop until the police are done looking for us?"
"As much I would like to say yes to that plan, that not going to work," Tario said as he looked down on the ground and saw cop cars and the swat passing by the building. Searching for the group relentlessly. "We also have the SWAT looking for us."
Salija tilts her head in confusion. "Why is the SWAT involved?! We did nothing wrong!" Salija hung her head down. "Fucking pigs..."
Alima is thinking about Savino's face. She has seen it somewhere before, but she can't put her finger on it. "Say, Salija, did you ever catch that bitch nigga name?"
Salija lifts her head to look at Alima with a curious look. "I think it was Savino Siano or something like that,"
"Oh, now, I remember him!" Alima said as it all made sense now. "He's the leader of The Siano Family gang. That nigga has the whole city in his pocket. No wonder why, so many pigs are chasing us or that they automatically take his side instead of ours."
Salija's eyes went wide at this new piece of info. "Wait, I caught the eye of the gang leader?!"
"Not just any gang leader, you caught the eye of the most powerful gang in the entire city if not the entire nation," Tario corrected as he sighed. "And the situation got more complicated, just our luck."
Zyrell rested his chin on his hand. "Now that we're talking about this, that policewoman I got into with...wasn't that his wife?"
"It was," Alima answered. "I use my hearing and sight to hear and see the conversation between them and can confirm, that is his wife."
"And of course, it was a married man who was interested in me," Salija groaned out.
"And the situation just went beyond complicated," Tario scowled as not only that they have to deal with the police officers, but they also had to deal with a mafia gang on their heads.
"Well, this some shit we landed ourselves," Salija said with a yawn. "I'm so sorry that I got you guys involved."
"Oh, don't go blaming yourself," Zyrell retorted. "You are like family to us, so of course, we're going to get ourselves involved. Now granted, we didn't know that we were on the Siano Family shitlist, but neither did you, so stop it. We're good."
Salija smiles at her friend before getting up and pulling him into a hug. "I'm so lucky to have you as my friend,"
Zyrell returned the hug and stroked her back. "I'm the lucky one if you ask me," Zyrell countered causing Salija to crack a small smile.
Tario and Alima smiled at the scene.
The two separated and Salija yawned again. "Man, I'm beat. Would you mind taking me home, Zyrell?"
Zyrell was about to say yes, but Alima cut in.
"It wouldn't be wise as pigs are around our homes," Alima warned as she used her vision and saw their homes being guarded by the police.
Tario sighs. "How typical of them,"
Salija grits her teeth. "Those bastards. Ugh, I guess I just get a hotel for the night,"
"I hate to burst your bubble, but that will not work either as that hoe nigga Savino have the whole city in his pocket and words travel fast around the city. So there is a high chance that they will know you are and will gleefully turn you in for a reward," Zyrell said as he crossed his arms.
Seeing no other option, Salija knows what she must do. "I figure out what to do in the morning. Right now, I need to sleep and I'm going to sleep on this rooftop."
"I got nothing else, so I'm fine with it," Alima said. "We'll be on the lookout for you."
Salija flashed her a warm smile. "I don't know what I did to get great friends like y'all, but I ain't complaining." Salija lay on the ground and shut her eyes. She begins to shiver.
Tario saw this and he raised his body temperature to an appropriate level before hugging Salija and Salija began to sleep soundly.
"So this is what our lives come to?" Zyrell questioned.
"It's what it looks like," Alima said with a small sigh. "It seems like our lives are getting more interesting because beefing with the city's most powerful gang was not what I had planned for this and the next year that is coming up."
"It's a natural consequence of the new reality," Tario said causing Zyrell and Alima. "We all knew that it get more interesting when we all got our powers. With the fall of capitalism, I knew it was seal that our lives were going to get more interesting and that a new world order is coming. That is not even mentioning the fact that the black diaspora is healing and becoming a united force. All I know is that we will need to have our brothers and sisters' backs when pushes come to shove because something big is coming our way."
Zyrell and Alima nod in agreement and continue to be on the lookout.
The next morning, 9:12 A.M.
Salija's eyes fluttered open and she slowly got up.
"The sleeping princess is finally up," Zyrell joked as he took a bit of his bagel. "Slept good?"
"I slept amazing," Salija answered with a light smile as she yawned while she stretched. She looks at Tario. "I didn't you were nice to sleep on."
Alima lightly chuckles. "Of course, he is, he such a big cuddly bear,"
Tario blushes a bit at the two comments before his expression turns serious. "What the plan now, Salija?"
"We leave the city for a little while," Salija answered with a stern look. "I need a break from the chaos that has been going on in my life and we need to figure out a plan."
"Sounds good to me," Zyrell said as he finished the rest of his bagel. "Where are you planning on going?"
"I'm planning on going to Louisiana," Salija said. "It's the perfect place to lay low as I doubt that Savino would bother to look for us there. Not only that, but Savino has the least amount of influence there."
Tario nods with a proud smile. "A solid plan,"
"Oh, we should get there in a jiffy!" Alima said. "That won't be a long trip at all!"
"Umm...about that, I was hoping we can catch a plan," Salija said with a sweat drop. "It's nothing against y'all! I just feel safer by taking a plane."
Zyrell frowns at that. "It's not that I have a problem with it, it's just that we need to use our IDs to purchase a plane ticket and I don't feel too comfortable when the whole city is on our head!"
"We got fake IDs then!" Salija countered.
"And how are we going to get fake IDs?" Zyrell asked as he put his hands on his hips.
"We have a friend that can help us," Alima said causing Zyrell and Salija to look at her while Tario knew who she was talking about. Alima uses her vision to make sure the coast is clear. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't as the city was filled with cops. "Alright, looks like we're going have to be careful as the city is infested with pigs."
"We stick to the alleyways then," Tario said. "Now, let's roll, the more we stay here, the higher the chance they find us."
Everyone nods as they exit the rooftop by jumping down with Salija on Zyrell's back. Alima heads towards her friend's location with the rest following suit.
500 million light-years from Earth, on a spaceship.
"Status report," A deep feminine voice said in the comm she wears. She waited for a few seconds for a response. Once she got none, she sighed and slumped in her seat. "Damnit, another team gone."
Before the alien can get lost in her thoughts, her computer voice interrupts.
"You have a call coming from Aimmu," The computer told her.
"Answer it," She said as she sat upright in her seat.
The computer obliges and a hologram of Aimmu appears. "Colonel Viccik, any update on Operation Purgatory?"
"Negative sir," Viccik answered with a scowl. "I'm afraid they have either been killed or captured by the Multiversal Dictator's forces."
Aimmu grits his teeth. "Drat, another squad lost. He can't keep getting away with this!"
"He can't," Viccik agreed. "We will bring him down someway somehow."
"I hope it will be soon," Aimmu sighed. "Because our numbers are thinning to dangerous levels. If this war continues on...then our species may go extinct. And other species in the multiverse aren't faring well either as their numbers is only slightly better than ours."
Viccik nods as she fumes at the Multiverse Dictator.
About 2 years back, the Toz'el species were living in harmony. Viccik retired from the military as her duty was done and to spend time with her family while Aimmu made sure that peace was maintained in their galaxy. It was an enjoyable time as the galaxy was at peace and all the threats were maintained. Sadly for them, it didn't last long as Aimmu got a mysterious call from someone from another multiverse. The caller warned them about the Multiversal Dictator before the caller was killed in cold blood by the man himself. The Multiversal Dictator told them to prepare their universe for him. And if they resist, he told them to make sure that at least have someone that is a worthy opponent for him and he might make their punishment less severe for them. Aimmu didn't like the idea of surrounding their universe with an obvious dictator so he told the Multiverse Dictator that they would not give up their universe to the likes of him. The Multiverse Dictator didn't like that answer and hung up the call. Aimmu announced that they had a war on their hands and that he going to need the whole galaxy's support as the Toz'el alone couldn't defeat this new defeat. Viccik immediately rejoined the military to defeat this new defeat.
The Multiverse Dictator wasted no time as he immediately began attacking their galaxy. The galaxy tries to fight back but quickly realizes that they are vastly outmatched as their technology is beyond anything they have seen in their lifetime. Soon, the galaxy surrendered and Aimmu and Viccik didn't agree with the decision and gathered a small force to help them search for allies throughout the universe. Starting a 2 year war. Sadly for Aimmu and Viccik, the war wasn't in their favor as the Multiverse Dictator slowly, but surely, conquered the universe.
The two broke out of reminiscing as Aimmu's door slammed open.
"Boss, I have important news that may turn the war in our favor!" A feminine voice said between her pants.
Aimmu's raised a brow at this. "Lay it on us, Xalphia,"
"You remember Earth, right?" Xalphia asked.
"Earth? You mean that backwater ass planet?" Viccik asked. Xalphia is a bit surprised to see Viccik, but she nods. Viccik scoffs. "There is no way they can turn the war in our favor given how inferior their technology is compared to ours. Hell, there is a reason why we skipped over that backwater planet."
"Let's not make any snap judgments now, Colonel," Aimmu softly chided. "A new development could've happened during the last two years on Earth." Viccik rolled her eyes at that. "Now, Xalphia, continue."
"I've been studying humans throughout the past couple of weeks and noticed that they have gained powers," Xalphia explained.
Aimmu furrowed a brow at this as that is quite the development.
Viccik on the other hand snorted at the news. "So what? A lot of other species have powers and they still fall against the Multiverse Dictator forces! What makes them so special?!"
"What makes them so special is that they don't seem to get tired and that it a possible their powers have no limit," Xalphia shot back, annoyed at Viccik's attitude.
"What do you mean that there is no limit to their abilities?" Aimmu asked with narrowed eyes.
"What I mean is that there seem to be no drawback to their abilities and can abuse at however much they please," Xalphia explained. "And it seems they have gained immortality as the elder ones have gained their youth back and their regeneration can regrow lost limbs even their brain and heart. I studied the fights and they were strong enough to create a tiny black hole while using little of their power. The crazy thing is, they are purposefully holding back not to destroy their planet!"
Aimmu went slack-jawed at this as he couldn't believe this. 'If any of that is true then the people of Earth can turn the war in their favor!'
Viccik burst out laughing and fell out of her seat. "There...is...no...way you...expect us...to believe that!"
"I know what I have seen as I am not blind!" Xalphia frowned as she couldn't stand Viccik sometimes.
"I mean c'mon, that whole thing sounds like it comes out of a fairy tale story! Right, sir?!" Viccik turned to Aimmu.
"It does sound like it came out of a fairy tale," Aimmu said causing Vicciki to crack a smug smirk while Xalphia's eyes twitched. "However, that's why I'm sending you two and three others to Earth to confirm if what Xalphia is saying is true."
Viccik's smirk dropped and was replaced with a look of horror. Xalphia tilts her head in curiosity.
"What about you, sir? Aren't you worried that with us gone the army will fall apart?" Xalphia asked in concern as Aimmu is sending away leaders of the resistance force.
"I know it is reckless to send my leaders away, but we're desperate and we need all the help we can get," Aimmu answered with a serious look. "I never thought I would say this, but Earth is our last hope."
Xalphia nods in understanding. "Well, I would go get pack, sir," Xalphia gives him a salute before heading towards her room.
Aimmu turned his attention to Viccik. "Colonel Viccik, I'm putting you in charge of this operation as you can them in line and they seem to defer to your authority. Don't let the resistance force down as we all are counting on you." Viccik slowly nods causing Aimmu to smile. "Excellent then! Now, get here as fast as you can." With that, Aimmu hangs up the call and Vicciki passes out in shock as she didn't expect a mission on planet Earth if she can even call it a planet.
