Krishna's First Memories: Beginning a Primarch's Autobiography
This prologue episode is my best attempt at describing the earliest moments of a Primarch's life, (the future Lord of the Second Legion,) from a first person perspective, looking back on what happened so long ago.
We have to start in Holy Terra's top secret laboratories before we make our way to any other events, though the God-Emperor's infant sons weren't going to remain in the proper place for long...
"From what I recall, my very first glimpse of life was from inside a hollow capsule of some sort, filled with gelid, greenish fluid. When I awoke, I felt quite awkward, to say the least. In fact, I was terrified. I didn't know what any of this meant, at all."
"My whole body shivered violently from the cold, and my hearts hammered in my chest, as if threatening to burst. Yet in spite of all that, I also had a sense of safety and innocence while observing the outside world from my place of birth."
"One of the first things I noticed in the room beyond my enclosure were numerous other capsules, just like mine, filled with the same liquid and with their own occupants floating inside. Grotesque figures tended to them, pale unions of flesh and metal covered in robes, clothing which did very little to conceal their hideous features."
"I certainly didn't know it at the time, but those strangers in the capsules were actually my kin, beings more or less the same as me. Something I would come to realize when I finally discovered the truth about myself."
"Thankfully, a different type of fluid soon entered my chamber, when one of the cyborgs outside pushed a button, taking away the biting chill and slowing down my heart rate, while allowing me to get a better grasp of my surroundings."
"At that point, I saw someone else enter the room."
"This person was very different from the twisted, ugly figures I had seen earlier. He was a giant, wearing an extravagant golden suit of armor with red robes draped around it, and no cybernetic parts marred his body. His face was very regal, with a long mane of black hair, topped with a shining golden crown adorned with many jewels... and he radiated with sunlike brightness and warmth."
"I was almost blinded by looking at him at first, but my eyes quickly adjusted, and his radiance became less intense, so I could properly gaze upon him."
"He walked past all the capsules, looking at each of the occupants inside, and examining them carefully, with a cheerful smile on his face, as if he was watching over all of us, and was glad to see us waking up one by one."
"Then, after briefly speaking with the ugly cyborg technicians, he came to me. Still smiling, and clearly expressing joy. At last, my fear and discomfort from my first moments had subsided. While this golden man was still present, no harm would come to me or the others floating in the tanks."
The Master of Mankind wasn't expecting to see one of his sons to be awake and active so soon.
"After his visit, he quickly left the room, as if he had other tasks on his mind. More of the calming fluid flowed into my pod, and I drifted back to sleep once again, dreaming of the world beyond these walls."
Several hours later...
Rumbling could be heard in the distance... but this was no natural earthquake.
"Thanks to a sudden, unexpected cacophony, I was awake once again. Distinct vibrations and tremors rattled my capsule, and I presciently sensed that something was wrong. Danger was coming."
"Dormant instincts came to life, clawing at my mind, screaming at me, trying to prepare me for a fight."
"I snapped out of my peaceful dreams and writhed inside my tank, desperately struggling to break free!"
"Those old sensations of fear and panic were returning, stronger than ever!"
"I had to get out... and find the golden one. He could protect me!"
"But it was far too late for anyone to come to the rescue."
"The room was suddenly lit ablaze with iridescent lights of red, purple and green, and the cyborgs observing me died in agony while helplessly flailing their limbs, though I could not hear their screams of suffering."
"More hellfire engulfed my surroundings, consuming all it touched, until my capsule was dragged into the abyss."
"It felt as if I were flying, though I had no idea where or why. My view was now a raging storm of shimmering flame, lightning and explosions."
"Soon, nightmarish patterns and shapes appeared in the cascade. Evil faces leered down at me, laughing at my suffering. Indescribable monsters latched onto my vessel, scratching at the glass, trying to get inside. Formless spiritual horrors spoke in mocking tones, attempting to lure me outside."
"All these terrible sights were too much for me to witness. My mind drifted back into limbo, back into the merciful darkness of unconsciousness."
"I floated endlessly, through that fathomless sea of darkness, waking up from time to time, only to realize that the living nightmare outside was not going anywhere."
"All sense of time faded away, and it seemed as if this would be my reality forever... trapped inside a nightmare, for all eternity."
"Until at long last, the flames slowly started to dissipate, the storm began to calm, and the demonic faces vanished."
"Then, my capsule was forcefully ejected from that realm of tyranny, hatred and evil, and sent plunging downwards, down towards the landscape of a new world."
"A new world, that was rapidly approaching."
"I braced myself, as the air itself caught fire, and I plummeted through the upper atmosphere, breaking the sound barrier shortly afterwards. A mere moment later, with an immense crash, my pod smashed into the side of a forested mountain, the force almost knocking me unconscious."
"The glass barrier protecting me finally shattered, with the green fluid leaking out of the bottom of the tank, along with my small body."
"When I opened my eyes, I saw an endless expanse of elevated green wilderness, stretching out in all directions. The sun was about to rise, but at the time, I wanted nothing more than to shut my eyes and rest."
"I was not so lucky, though- when I did shut my eyes, I heard a guttural, deep growl, coming from the immediate area."
"A wolflike, four-legged canine beast, covered in serrated quills, with the talons of an eagle on its front feet, approached me, seeing me as just another meal."
"I would have become dinner, if it were not for an unforeseen change of fate... right when I thought my brief life was going to end, a stranger in green robes appeared and drove a massive spike made of stone through the creature's flank!"
"When he was done with that, he came over to me, and picked me up in his arms. I didn't squirm, cry or try to resist, because I felt safe and comforted, just like when I met the golden one, back in my place of birth so long ago."
"Together, we trekked through the forest, and eventually came to a quiet town hidden in the leaves."
"The good man took me into his home, where two other people were waiting- a woman in blue attire and animal fur garments, and another man who wore red and black scale armor, a sword hung at his side. My intuition told me the man in the green robes, who could bend stone to his will, actually wanted to talk about me."
"In retrospect, I am still grateful that I was raised right, by honest, loving, loyal and respectable people like these. They soon gave me the vision I had for the future... the dream that I fight for to this day. In return, I convinced the people in my community to take action, and helped them follow the path their philosophy spoke of."
"I couldn't understand what my new caretakers were saying at first, but it didn't take very long at all for me to catch on to at least some of their words. An ability I soon recognized as evidence of me not being considered normal in society... though I felt it would be rude to start talking before anyone expected it."
Third person perspective: From the viewpoint of Daoyu, the man who found this child that fell from the heavens (plus his two closest friends)
"You almost certainly will not believe what I have to say... but the boy I found literally came from the sky. In the early morning, I saw a shooting star fly in the distance, which then slammed into the earth, kicking up a sizable dust cloud."
"When I arrived at the object's impact site, I came across a pinewolf preparing to pounce on a defenseless human child, who had just crawled out of some kind of glass container. Naturally, I slew the beast to protect the child, and took him back to Hidden Leaf Village."
"Do you two think the prophecy is finally coming true? Will the Hidden Enclaves be able to come together and unite the world under one banner? Because our ancestors had always spoken of a boy falling from the sky to be a clear sign that the world will change forever."
"Don't be so sure, Daoyu," the female waterbender in blue replied. "How do we know this boy will be the one? What if he just ends up becoming a completely normal human being?"
Taishen, the firebender in red and black armor, had a more optimistic outlook on this topic.
"I think we should wait and see, Reika," he said to his waterbending partner. "If he happens to manifest elemental abilities... we will be his teachers as well as his caretakers. Only then will we be sure if he is the Star Child from the prophecy."
"Then our new duty is set in stone," Daoyu stated. "We'll look after this new child of ours, and educate him about the world we live in. Though he's going to have to know the truth one day..."
"At which point our leaders will be ready to make the steps necessary to set history on a better path," Reika concluded. "Until then, we continue living our lives as best as we can."
"One last thing, though," Taishen asked. "What shall we name our adoptive son?"
Daoyu contemplated this question for a moment, then responded by saying:
"He's supposedly meant to go on to unite the whole world. Some vagrants living in the borders between the Four Nations worship a god who they believe will do just that. The wanderers' legends call him the Spirit of Unity, Krishna. Maybe this boy will eventually fulfill the promise of the deity."
"Let's hope that we're correct about Krishna," Reika mentioned. "Because even though the 100-year war caused by the Fire Nation may be over, Mankind will still inevitably be doomed to its own demise if it does not learn from its failures. We must all do our part in this struggle."
-PROLOGUE COMPLETE-
What will the young Primarch be capable of when he comes of age?
It won't be long before he begins to develop his magical abilities, which could come in a massive variety, not being limited to just Bending potential.
And will his adoptive family and teachers be able to successfully indoctrinate him, into unwaveringly believing their point of view?
Only time will tell.
...But before the next chapter begins, we must discuss some arcane knowledge from the God-Emperor's master plan.
PRIMARCH PROJECT- FIRST PHASE
STATUS REPORT: SUBJECT II
Successfully forging the progenitor of the Second Legion is possibly the most remarkable milestone so far in this entire undertaking of mine. After all, I had extensively studied and experimented on some of the most powerful and dangerous creatures in the galaxy in order to create the genetic matrix for Subject Two.
These creatures were none other than the elemental dragons, enormous, ancient, and intelligent reptiles that had actually mastered the powers of the Warp without the slightest trace of Chaos corruption. They were living proof that the magic of the afterlife could be separated from the Gods of Chaos, which was crucial knowledge I needed in order to conquer and unify the galaxy.
The Warp is a dangerous and unpredictable place, but it is also the foundation upon which interstellar civilization rests. No sapient species can leave its solar system without discovering magic first. By working on the Primarch Project, I am also indirectly searching for safer ways to make use of the Warp.
A significant positive side effect of working with dragon DNA is that I have now cured the two biggest problems with the Astartes Super-Soldier Program.
By combining those sorcerous draconic traits with my current genetic engineering techniques, I have eliminated the pesky issue of female bodies being incompatible with Primarch gene-seed, so now 100% of the human population should be eligible for the Space Marine conversion process.
The Astartes will definitely end up being much less grotesquely swollen with muscle and testosterone, and look more like exceptionally tall, lean and strong humans, with Olympian physiques.
In addition, human adults will now be required for Space Marine conversion, instead of children, since the gene-seed has been affected by the dragon essence to allow the implanted organs to fully develop instantly.
Further research will be required to adapt the draconic infusion for the Custodes creation process.
Author's Note: I wanted the new Primarch to not be associated with any of the Four Nations that already exist in Avatar. So I invented a secret, untouched part of the Avatar World, "The Hidden Enclaves," which is kind of like the collection of villages where the ninjas live and train in Naruto, secluded and relatively isolated from outside influence. The people that raised Primarch Krishna are essentially Avatar's equivalent of globalists, hoping for a future with a unified human civilization.
Also, I wrote this chapter more like a typical story (1st person and 3rd person perspective) because I didn't want the whole fanfic to be an encyclopedia. There will still be bits and pieces where I'll have to write scenes with character dialogue.
If my writing here isn't as good as the original Avatar cartoon, I apologize. Remember, this is just something I do in my spare time for fun, I can't guarantee that I'll live up to the standards of the original creators.
Let me know in a review if there's anything I need to fix, or anything that you really like in particular!!!
