2008, Camp Half Blood, Long Island, New York (Oh My Gods! She was never gonna get over that!)

Thalia couldn't even look at the others. Gods how embarrassing, nearly crashing the sun?! The fact that Apollo was being so cool about it somehow made it worse. Everyone got off the bus, Grover was being weird with the Hunters, and Thalia would have stood there just, there, if Apollo hadn't called out.

"Later Thalia, and, uhh, be good." Giving a cool-as-you-like smile, the god of the Sun snapped his fingers, and the old bus shimmered and turned into a bright red Maserati. Thalia averted her gaze and was super glad for the haze of warmth that flooded the area as Apollo's Chariot became the sun again, at least it helped hide her blush.

Percy went with Nico and Grover was 'leading' the Hunters to their cabin. Shaking her head, satyrs were all head over heals for the Hunters, Thalia guessed she had better follow Percy and Nico, they were heading to the Big House, and it was probably better for Thalia to get there sooner rather than later, she had the courage to face to her mistake rather than hide.

As she moved up to the Big House, she glanced back over to the Hunters, the group was just outside of their cabin, and looked like they were having an argument with Grover. Thalia could see Phoebe, the Hunter she was talking to, wave a little at her, feeling a little silly, Thalia waved back, then turned and continued to the Big House.

"Percy! Thalia! Ah, and this must be—"

"Nico di Angelo," Percy said. "He and his sister are half-bloods."

Chiron breathed a sigh of relief.

"You succeeded, then."

"Well…" The wheelchair-bound form of the centaur's smile melted.

"What's wrong? And where is Annabeth?"

Thalia stayed quiet, trying to ignore Mr D's sarcastic 'Oh dear.' but when the Camp director mentioned losing 'another one' Thalia's curiosity got the better of her.

"What do you mean, 'not another one lost'?" She demanded. But before she could get an answer, or Mr D did anything to her for the 'blatant disrespect', Grover walked in, with a black eye and what looked like a slap mark.

Thalia revised her opinion of the Grover with the Hunters and put it at definitely 100% creepy.

While Grover and Nico headed off to see the orientation film, Thalia wondered what she was going to say about their mission. She was nominally the one leading it, so the buck stopped with her.

"Now, perhaps you two should sit down and tell us the whole story." Chiron said to the two half-bloods once Nico and Grover had left, the young half-blood boy was adorable in a helpless naïve sort of way, the daughter of Zeus thought,

Thalia took a deep breath and began.

In all honesty it wasn't that bad, Percy took responsibility, privately Thalia thought, for more than his fair share of mistakes, but by the end of it, Chiron was nodding sagely and looking more tired than Thalia remembered him being, while Mr D looked vaguely disinterested. That didn't help her mood.

"We should search for Annabeth, immediately." Chiron said after thinking through the last part of their story.

"I'll go." Both Thalia and Percy volunteered. Thalia couldn't think of anything else, immediately her head was filled with rescue plans and ideas and thoughts of getting Annabeth back.

"Certainly not." Mr D interrupted, sounding slightly more animated than he'd been all throughout their recounted mission.

"Why?! We need to rescue Annabeth, she knows everything about camp, and the whole summer you've been saying that we need more campers, why can't we send a group to get a veteran camper back ." Thalia could almost feel the crash of thunder running through her ears, she didn't know if it was her imagination, but from the way Mr D looked at her, she guessed it maybe wasn't.

"We can't just leave her there, we need to save her!" Percy snapped, apparently he didn't notice anything wrong, so Thalia guessed - hoped - that she didn't just accidentally call down a storm on camp. She probably didn't.

Thalia resumed glaring at Mr D, he may be a god, but Annabeth was her friend, she'd march off to save her without any support if she had to!

She missed what Mr D said next, but Percy got up from the table, ignoring a warning from Chiron. But Thalia ignored what he said, she kept thinking about saving Annabeth, how she could do it on her own if she really needed, there were safehouses that-

Thalia's train of though stopped immediately. That was it!

"We could lead a rescue for Annabeth and use Harry's plan to help any other half-blood that needs it."

The silence that followed her shout lasted maybe a second, before Percy looked confused and opened his mouth-

Only to be interrupted when when Nico burst into the room, followed by Grover.

"SO COOL!" Nico yelled, holding his hands out to Chiron. "You're… you're a centaur!"

Thalia looked around at the younger half-blood who looked like all his Christmases and birthdays had come at once.

Luckily he'd managed to confused Mr D long enough that Chiron shuffled Percy and Thalia out of the Big House to round up the campers for the 'traditional' game of Capture the Flag against the Hunters.

Thalia knew she'd said too much, if Nico had overheard, or Grover, or Percy said the wrong thing to somebody…

"Hey, so what does Harry's Plan even mean? Is that the same guy that you were talking about before?" Percy asked once they were a safe distance away from the possible anger of a God.

"Erm, it's nothing, seriously forget it, don't mention it to anybody!" Thalia frantically tried to do some damage control, but the way Percy was looking at her, she guessed he was now more interested in what 'Harry's Plan' was.

A shout from the basketball court distracted both of them, one of the Ares kid's was arguing with a group of Hunters who were shooting hoops. Thalia decided she wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth.

"I'll break up that fight, you'd better tell everyone in the cabins about Capture the Flag tomorrow." And with that, Thalia rushed off to the basketball court, ignoring Percy's frantic calls.

A/N: I wanted to remove Thalia and Percy's canon détente they had after the Big House (where they both kinda make up to each other for their actions previously) so they are a little more at odds with each other (in canon they butt heads a lot but make up very quickly which I don't like, we have the first 2 books where all we know about Thalia is that she'd either get along great with Percy or hate his guts, I wanted to explore the idea what if Thalia was more volatile and less forgiving and spent most of the time hating Percy's guts rather than as an expy of Annabeth from TLO

And yes, Thalia is growing closer to the Hunters (but *not* Zoe) and the hunters will be given more depth

Percy may sound a lot more antagonistic here, but it's through Thalia's POV and she has less of a reason to like him

And Harry's Plan will be discussed in a future chapter (Chiron and Mr D aren't too happy with Thalia blurting it out like that in front of the very impulsive Percy)
