Chapter 31: The Future
Summary:
Jean takes a trip to a future.
Notes:
Trigger Warning: There is a mention of rape, readers discretion advised.
Jean woke up to the smell of sea air and swaying. She opened her eyes to see that she was in a room with hammocks hanging in the air.
She got out of her hammock and walked to a staircase that led up. Walking up she realized that she was on a boat.
"Hey Black Sensei." A familiar voice said.
Turning around she saw Jason standing in front of her. He was older and looked nothing like he had the last time they'd met.
He was maybe 6'2" and had red hair. His eyes were the color of the sea, and he smiled easier.
"What happened to you?" She asked.
"I Kinda went through another mutation since the last time we met." He smiled a smile that said that life had tried to break him and had failed miserably. "I actually went through several mutations, but the first took place during my internship with Eraser. I was saving this guy, Calvin Montgomery. Sadly, his daughter died."
"I'm so sorry."
"It led to my first mutation. He was grieving and accidentally transferred his daughters Quirk to me. When I went to bed that night her Quirk overtook My Quirk and they combined."
"What happened?"
"Our Quirks combined and sine we both use Creation as one of our Quirks activation triggers they cancelled out and I was left with Hellfire Summoning. Unfortunately, her Quirk was stronger than mine and so it took the driver's seat."
"What is Your Quirk Now?"
"I summon other versions of myself from across the Multiverse."
"You do what Now?"
"Yeah. At first I could only summon the different versions of me, but then I went to I Island, and boy was that rough."
"What happened?"
"We went to I Island to get our suits while they were doing I Expo and villains attacked in order to steal one of David Shield's inventions that was going to be able to help All Might stay the Symbol of Peace Because at That Point I think he was down to two or three hours on his Quirk."
"Oh, okay."
"So, the Villain tried using it on himself, but I jumped in and cover the needle before he could inject himself, and it kind of ended up injecting me which caused my power to increase tenfold."
"An injection?"
"Yeah. Somehow David Shield had gotten ahold of Willis Todd's blood and thought that he could use it to make something to amplify All Might's Quirk but the Hero Commission Said that it was too Dangerous and locked it away. Then he tried making a crown or helmet or something that would do the same thing, but it also got locked away."
"What happened?"
"Like I Said, My Quirk was enhanced tenfold, and I was able to summon more than just one of me. I could summon multiple Jason's from the Multiverse, it wasn't just one of me at a time now. Unfortunately, the Villain had also grabbed the crown and used that to amplify his power, and it took everyone to beat him."
"That's terrifying how scary he was."
"Yeah, but we beat him and destroyed the crown."
"That's good, that's too much power. When did this happen?"
"During the trip to I Island the week before the training camp. Aizawa was pissed off, and almost killed David. If not for All Might he probably would have."
"I see."
"Next was after we'd gotten our Hero Licenses. We were sent to Nabu Island to help out until a new Hero could be Dispatched. We were attacked and Izuku and I needed to work together to beat the Villain. He transferred One for All to me and My Quirk was amplified again. I now had the ability to not only summon other versions of me, but also their teams, friends, Mentors, or armies."
"Armies?"
"Yeah. One of the Jason's I can summon is a conqueror. He has an army. I can summon his army with him now."
"That's amazing."
"I know right? Izuku can even summon different versions of himself, but he doesn't because the first time he did, he summoned an evil version of himself that tried to destroy Hero kind, and the worst part, he was Quirkless and was able to keep up with us."
"That's terrifying."
"We all kind of shit ourselves."
"Did you ever summon an evil version of yourself?"
"Too many times to count. The scary part is that sometimes they are necessary because they cross lines that even I won't cross."
"That's kind of hard to believe."
"Be that as it may? It's true. There are some lines even I won't cross."
"Okay, wow."
"Yeah, but then we discovered a new threat."
"What threat was this?"
"A group of Quirkless Religious Zealots who tried to bring around the end of those with Quirks by causing their Quirks to go out of control, killing them, and leaving only the Quirkless alive."
"Thats horrible!"
"Yeah, it was."
"Did it cause your Quirk to go out of control?"
"Kind of. I helped Izuku when one of the nut cases tried injecting themselves with Trigger, but I stole it and ended up injecting some of it into myself."
"What happened this time?"
"So, you know how I said the Hellfire part of my Quirk took a back seat?"
"Yeah."
"And remember how I had an enhancement from Willis Todd lying dormant in my body somewhere?"
"No."
"Oh, well I did, and thanks to that it mixed with that dormant enhancement and ended up waking up the Hellfire part of my Quirk and gave me the strength, speed, agility, dexterity, and endurance of Efreeti condensed into a human body."
"What are your weaknesses?" Jean asked.
"Well, my biggest weakness is my friends and family, followed by my stamina and endurance. I can fight for a while, but It's not like I'm invincible. I bluff a lot of the time, so people think I'm stronger than I am, but I'm not on Izuku's or Rogue's or even Johnny's level anymore. I took fourth place in our group with Johnny taking third place, Rogue taking second place, and Izuku taking third place."
"You really lost a lot of strength when your Quirk changed."
"Yeah. I was really bitter about it at first, so you'll want to help me there, but I learned to live with it."
"Okay."
"Want to meet some of the other Jason's I can summon?"
"Sure." Jean said.
"Well, this is Pirate Jason's boat. He's probably in the Captain's Quarters. Then there's Emperor Jason our lord and master, he's the conqueror I told you about. Next is Jedi Jason, Ninja Jason, and Hunter Jason. Finally, we have Vanilla Jason, Fire Force Jason, Alchemist Jason, and Assassin Jason."
Jean watched as nine different Jason's appeared.
One Jason wore black pirate boots, charcoal gray pants, a charcoal grey v-cut long sleeved collared shirt, a red headband, and a grey coat. He wore a belt and a bandolier. The Bandolier had a flintlock on his left side and a cutlass on his hip. The belt had another flintlock on his right side and a knife on his left hip. The final part of his costume was a red greatcoat.
Another figure was wearing charcoal grey tactical armor with red gauntlets, boots, and helmet. He had a crowbar and a sword on his back with twin pistols on his hips and sides.
The next figure had some kind of armor that looked like it belonged in a video game. The armor was black from the feet up to the neck and the helmet was red. He wore two pistols on his sides with two cylinders on his hips and a futuristic rifle on his back.
The next Jason in line was wearing black sandals with bandages that went from his feet under a pair of black pants that had multiple pockets. He had a kunai pouch on each leg, and a Chakra blade on each hip. He wore a charcoal grey long sleeved shirt with the Tenshi clan symbol on his chest. The symbol was a red bat in the center with a golden scorpion behind it, pincers open and ready to lash out and its tail ready to strike. He wore a brown jacket, and on his back was a black Kusanagi with the Tenshi clan symbol on the hilt. On his head he wore his hitai-até letting his long dark blue hair blow in the wind. His eyes were covered by a pair of black glasses.
The next Jason had red hair like the current Jason, his eyes were golden and gave off an aura of danger. He was lean and sinewy. He wore charcoal grey armor with light grey knee pads and charcoal grey gauntlets. He wore plate armor with a red bat in the center of a white snowflake. He wore a white sleeveless hoodie but didn't seem to have any weapons on his person, but his shadow seemed to be alive, and his Aura seemed to be warn of something powerful.
The next Jason in line had black hair with a white streak. He wore alloy armor with a leather jacket rolled up to his sleeves with charcoal grey gloves and a red helmet. He had a gun belt and utility around his waist.
The next Jason wore a fireman's outfit and seemed to be much calmer than the other Jasons.
The next Jason wore black shoes, black slacks, a black suit coat, a charcoal grey vest, a blood red shirt, a black tie, and a mask with red face mask and black Domino mask. On his back he had a symbol of a cross with a snake slithering around it with wings at the top and a crown over the whole thing.
The final Jason was wearing a pair of sturdy tennis shoes with a pair of black pants and a red hoodie. He held himself with a dangerous Aura that made him seem like a badger or a ferret or maybe even a hyena depending on how he moved. His aura screamed of danger and to stay away.
"Hello." She spoke.
"Hello." The Jason's said in unison.
"Do you all have Quirks or skills?"
"I'm just a pirate." Pirate Jason said.
"And I'm just an Assassin." The final Jason Said.
"I'm a conqueror." Emperor Jason our Lord and Master said.
"I am a student of the force." The Jason with the cylinders on his waist said. "I trained to be a Jedi, like my master, and his master before him. I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me."
"I see." Jean said.
"I was raised to be a killer but chose to be a Ninja. I specialized in Blood Jutsu's."
"Oh." Jean Said, unsure of how to take that. "What is Blood Jutsu?"
"A Ninja Technique Where I use Blood to Attack or Defend or even just do every day activities."
"I see." Jean gulped. That Jason was somewhat terrifying.
"I told Jason that I would help him with his cause." The Jason with the dangerous Aura and living shadow said. "I have fought a war, killed two immortal beings, and saved the multiverse. Helping him is nothing more than a way to train myself, seeing as killing Grimm is child's play. So long as I get to go back home to my family, I have no objection to helping him. Which reminds me..." he turned to Jason. "Weiss's birthday is coming up, I was hoping that I could bring her something from this universe since it's unique to our own. What would you recommend?"
"She uses a Dust Rapier, right?"
"Yes. I'll have a friend make her something and bring you back when it's done. When's her birthday?"
"Next month."
"Should be enough time."
"Thank you."
"How did you reach this level of peace?" Jean asked.
"I lived a very difficult life. I was abandoned on the streets when I was six where I lived for three years, was forced to witness my best friends rape. I experienced her death because my senses were just that advanced. I lost my legs during an attack at my school, lost my team during an attack on my school. My sister was brutally raped and murdered by a psychopath and my eyes were cut out by the psychopath's mother, and just before I was about to die, I stole the Semblance, what you would call Quirks, of the psychopaths grandfather allowing me to attain immortality. My wife's father tortured me and nearly killed me. I was forced to fight with a failing Aura, and died, if not for my wife and I sharing a soul bond I would have died. Then my wife gave birth to our daughter, and we were ripped away from her by an immortal who later revealed to me that he was responsible for every bad thing that had ever happened to me and my friends and family. So, I killed him. I may have left a few things out."
Jean gaped at him. "WHAT!?"
"Yes. I got Therapy, so I'm over it now, but as Dr. Thompson and Dr. Quinn are fond of saying: "The kindest people tend to have gone through the most shit. "."
"True that." The Jasons agreed.
Jean watched as the Jasons had bonded over their different Traumatic experiences.
"I'm the Jason that all these guys are based on." Jason explained. "From what Montgomery said, I'm the original that he takes either when I die or get tossed through a portal when Artemis and Bizzaro end up in another universe. I'm the Anchor of the Multiverse."
"Oh. I See."
"I am a member of Special Fire Force Company Eight where I live with my father and his crew of firefighters. We deal with the poor souls that get turned into infernals and send them off to the afterlife in peace. I am a third generation pyrokinetic who's fire ability is my fire suit. It keeps me safe and allows me to recite the prayers with Sister Iris to put the Infernal souls to rest."
Jean looked at that Jason.
"Yeah, he's like that." Jason said. "But if you ever get the chance to see him fight, oh boy is he insane."
"I am not insane. If anything, I'm the most sane here."
"He's not wrong." The Jason with the terrifying Aura said.
"I'm an alchemist." The final Jason said, touching his hand to a chunk of metal and changing it to statue of him. "I'm also the edgiest one here. Seeing as I learned Alchemy to take revenge on the man who killed me, and then decided to keep using Alchemy to kill."
"So, are you a Hero, Villain, or Anti-Hero?"
"I'm an alchemist."
"Believe it or not," Jason said. "He's a Hero in his Universe. He only killed those who were evil and ended up saving the universe from destroying itself. He did everything behind the scenes though while the Elric Brothers we're getting all the attention. His specific brand of Alchemy is Metallurgical Alchemy that allows him to kill someone with the metal in their body or even metal in the air."
"Way to give away my secret asshole!"
"Well, it was very nice to meet you all." Jean said. "But I need to get back home."
"Goodbye Black Sensei." Jason Said. "Oh, and before you go, be sure to tell Mama-Doria to sue the fuck out of Aldera Middle School. They are corrupt as hell. I thought I was doing good by scaring the shit out of the teachers, but that only caused the bullying to get worse. Not to mention the suicide rate. I'll take responsibility for that now. If it changes the future I don't give a fuck. Save the kids I technically killed."
Jean nodded and appeared in her office. She needed to talk to Nedzu.
Nedzu was in his office, trying to figure out what to do about the Hero Commission when he opened his door as Jean was about to knock on the door.
"Hello Jean." He spoke.
"Hello Nedzu Sensei. I need your advice on something."
"What seems to be the problem?"
"I went to the future again."
"So soon? It must be important."
"That's what I need your advice on. If I listen to what I learned, then that means I have to let a student get a new Quirk, like a brand new Quirk, and then I also let all sorts of bad things happen to let this students Quirk get more powerful rather than hinder them."
"Would this student be better off with this new Quirk?"
"They looked happier than the other future, but that also leads to the next issue. They told me that Aldera has to be shut down, but that could change this future which means that it could change what happens and this student might not have the same future that they did and I will have let this student get a new Quirk for no reason and it will be devastating for the future."
"When does this student get the new Quirk?"
"During their internship."
"So, you have a week to start your assault on Aldera. Get the ball rolling and the day before the internships start check on the future to see if it has changed."
"My Quirk doesn't work like that. I can't really control when I jump to the future."
"This student, do you think that they will be able to handle the changes?"
"Yes."
"Are you willing to trust your abilities to help them?"
"Yes."
"Are you willing to let them accept the consequences if you don't get an answer?"
Jean thought about that. Was she willing to let Jason go through that if she didn't know how it would impact him? People without her Quirk had to go on blind faith, could she? "I will go on blind faith if I can't get an answer."
"Excellent. Now. Why do we need to destroy Aldera Junior High?"
Inko walked up to Principal Nedzu's office and was about to knock on the door when the door opened automatically, and she peeked inside.
"Ah, Midoriya San." Nedzu said. "Please, come in, come in."
Inko walked in, and seeing Nedzu and Jean, began to worry her skirt. "Hello Nezu San. Is something wrong? Had Izuku, Himiko, or Jason done something wrong?"
"No, no. It only has to do with Aldera Junior High. It has come to my attention that Izuku has a bad history with Aldera. Did you notice anything when Izuku while at Aldera?"
"Well..." Inko worried her skirt again. "...there was some issues at first but That stopped after a while, and so I thought it was over, but I guess that it didn't and I should have been more worried when I found out that Katsuki had told Izuku to kill himself, but I was just so relieved that Izuku was alive and I..."
"Midoriya San." Nedzu said softly. "We want to bring Aldera to Justice, but we need to make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else. We would like you to take the case against Aldera and make an example of them to show what will happen should another school follow Aldera's example."
Inko's eyes glowed an almost toxic green. "I've been wanting to take them to court since I went back to my law firm, and I've already gathered data for their takedown." She brought out a stack of folders that were bulging to the point of exploding. "Also, I would like to Sue them for not only hurting Izuku, but Katsuki as well."
Nezu smiled. "Midoriya San. I would like to ask for your hand in friendship."
Inko took Nedzu's hand and Jean felt her world come crashing down around her. Nedzu and Inko would be a terrifying friendship.
Sunday.
Jean was laying on the futon in her office, trying to get the future aspect of her work to activate.
She had tried drinking tea to help her sleep, but it wasn't working.
She turned on some relaxing music, but that wasn't working either.
She tried deep breathing exercises, but that didn't seem to work until she heard Jason.
"Hey Black Sensei." Jason Said.
Turning around she saw Jason doing... Yoga?
"Jason?"
"Yeah?"
"Did anything change?"
"Yeah. Mama-Doriya shut down Aldera, started making the other schools start treating everyone equally regardless of their Quirk status, and eventually took down the Hero Commission, labeling all the board of directors and what not as war criminals and war profiteers."
"How?!"
"Oh, she made the argument that they were profiting for the war on crime and that by labeling and deciding who got to be Heroes and what was classified as a villains Quirk she was able to destroy the commission."
"That's terrifying."
"Mama-Doriya is the definition of terrifying."
"What about Your Quirk?"
"What Quirk?" Jason asked before laughing at Jean's horrified look. "I'm just kidding. No, My Quirk is Great. It's the same summoning Quirk with the enhanced stats."
"Has it changed at all?"
"No, but I've changed."
"How?"
Jason got up and walked to a desk before handing Jean a card.
Haywood Enterprises
Jason Haywood
81733463825
Jean turned the card over and looked at the back.
2-35 Itakura, Itakura-cho, Oura-gun, Gunma
(Add Email Address)
"You're a Businessman?"
"Yes. By day I'm Jason Haywood, the dumb ass who can barely tie a tie, but by night I'm: Red Hood the U.A. Knight, the Underground Hero."
"When do you Sleep?"
"Whenever I Can."
"Just like Eraser Head."
"Just like Eraser Head."
"Anything else you want to let me know?"
"I destroyed the League of Villains."
"WHAT!" Jean asked so hard that she woke up in her office. She bolted up and ran for Nedzu's office.
Nezu and Inko were in Nedzu's Office when Jean ran inside. "I'm sure that the student I was telling you needs to get their new Quirk!"
"What brought this on?" Nedzu asked.
"I saw the future again. I'm sure they need to get this new Quirk. It will help them and bring peace to the future."
"Then I think you have your answer."
"I do." Jean smiled.
Nedzu nodded.
Jean looked at the contents on the table. "What are you working on?"
"We're going to destroy Aldera Junior High." Nedzu laughed.
"Okay." Jean Said. "I'll leave you too it." She said leaving.
Nedzu smiled and went back to his work.
