Roanapur Nights

A Rosario+Vampire and Black Lagoon Crossover

Chapter 4

Revy looked at the group of buildings that the Huang Family had purchased. Last night she had gone out with Cassandra, and in that time some asshat had ended up with his guts on the floor. She wasn't one to shy away from death, but Rock had done his best to save her. He'd pushed for keeping her from killing when it wasn't necessary. Sure, she could consider the fact that the asshat that died could be a tally against her, but she didn't think so.

He was in a city where people disappeared everyday. He had practically invited his bullet to take him, and then he was surprised when it happened. She didn't pull the trigger, she hadn't been his bullet, and instead it had been the vampire with her. Cassandra actually seemed like someone she wouldn't mind having a drink with more often. She was a little uptight, but she considered that likely because she often was called upon to behave a certain way. Still, today she stood outside of what was starting to be called the Huang Family Corner.

Like the rest of Roanapur they followed the rules, and of course the Lagoon Company worked for them more often than not. Today was another day of working for them. Specifically she was responding to a call from the undead bitch herself. She walked toward the main building and pressed the button for the intercom. For a few moments there wasn't anything, and then she heard the short buzz of the connection.

"Hey, it's Revy from the Lagoon Company," she said as she leaned against the wall, "Hurry up and buzz me in."

She was wearing a tanktop, her cutoffs, and a pair of decent combat boots. It was more or less the clothes she wore most of the time when she was working. Besides, her Rocky Baby loved to see her dressed like this, and she was fine with it. A moment later the door seemed to click, and she opened it. She stepped inside and walked toward the first checkpoint. The one working there was someone that she'd begun to respect in a way. Wang Yan stood leaning against the wall. She was currently in her human disguise, and she flashed a slight grin at Revy.

To most people Yan was a youngish human woman. She stood about five and a half feet tall, she likely weighed about a hundred and fifteen pounds, and she was mostly petite. The difference was that Revy had seen her real form. Yan was an honest to god *nymph. Specifically she was a water nymph, and while she could exist outside of water itself, her powers were central to it. Her hair was a seafoam green, her eyes were a deep ocean blue, and her skin was just that slightly toasted look some people were lucky enough to develop while being in the sun.

"How's tricks, Two Hands?"

Revy smiled at the snide Nymph, "Just doing them for one man, and he's never complained," she replied as she neared her, "So, the normal frisking?"

Yan shook her head, "Naw, you're trustworthy, and besides we need you upstairs. Ling Ling has some news that she wanted to share."

Revy nodded, followed the nymph inside, and watched as she walked with a kind of grace that some women would sell their souls for. That was something she had believed didn't exist before stepping into a world where she found that many of the things she believed didn't exist actually did. Setting those two brats free had been a chance for her to see that souls themselves existed. So, she more or less stopped making jokes about selling her soul. The last thing she wanted was to find a real demon that actually would make a deal with her.

The one saving grace she had when it came to finding that out was that her Dad was more than likely in hell. If that was the case then she really did hope that he was getting demon dicks up the ass for everything that he put her through. She shook the thoughts off as she climbed the set of stairs to the next floor. There was an elevator they could have used, but she also understood the reason for not taking it.

She'd been informed, by Fang Fang, that the elevators in their buildings were each set up with small gas traps. The reason for it was because while there was something of an unspoken truce between the gangs in Roanapur, takeovers still happened. No one really came out and said it, but the truce was only as good as those that honored it. If Hotel Moscow honored it they would honor it to the letter. Fry Face was a lot of things, but one of the major things she tended to be was honorable. It was what made working for her far more favorable than a lot of the other alternatives.

The Huang and Miao Families were the same. Although she knew that Dutch had his own reasons for working closely with the Miao Family. That reason was a newer crew mate, and currently Dutch's live-in girlfriend. Again the girl was an adult, and both of them were consenting so she didn't see a problem with it. Let them make their own decisions and live with them. Again she tabled her thoughts as Yan knocked on a door. A moment later it opened and she walked through before motioning for Revy.

Revy stepped into what could only be described as an exceptionally exquisite apartment. The walls held a mixture of eastern and western art, She saw an honest to God Warhol painting hanging on the wall. She recognised it from an artbook that Chang had in his office. The painting, known as flowers, had been missing for years, and here it was. She admired it for a moment, but put every thought about how much it was worth out of her mind.

The Huang Family were decent employers, an active part of the unofficial criminal government in Roanapur, and they were actual monsters. Most of them would simply laugh off her cutlasses without a problem. She had no intention of pissing them off by even briefly considering if she could make it out of the building with a painting that was worth a couple of million dollars. And even if she could, where could she go to sell it?

The only groups that might be interested would be Hotel Moscow or the Triads. Neither of them would make a move against the Huang Family since they didn't break the truce, and that meant that she would be stuck with an overpriced piece of art that she would end up giving her life for. It wouldn't be worth it. Instead she simply admired it, admired the ancient Chinese art that hung on the walls, and of course the plush lavender carpet.

The way her feet sank into it told her of the quality. The one that sold it to them likely had been T'ang. The older man ran something of a major market in Roanapur when it came to building materials. He didn't trade in weapons or drugs, but instead he dealt in stolen tools, materials, and furnishings. Her Rocky Baby and her had actually purchased a good deal of the furniture from him that was in their apartment.

Everything he sold was the absolute best quality that was jacked from a shipment. In addition he often stated that the one thing that brought everyone together was trade. People needed things, he sold things, and thus he was needed. She couldn't argue with his logic, and they had made more than a few deliveries for him in the past. She turned her attention to the furniture itself, and every single piece of furniture was leather with polished wood trim. It spoke of wealth, resources, and the fact that the Huang Family was not to be fucked with.

A moment later Ling Ling hopped into the room with them. She noticed that her more often than not employer had her hair down. It wasn't up in the normal style she wore it in. In addition she was wearing what looked like a fairly revealing dress. It was cut low enough to show a touch of cleavage. The dress itself looked to be made of silk, designed to hug the curves on the one that wore it, and from all accounts looked as if it fit like a second skin. The fact that it was red was just overkill. Ling Ling pointed toward a chair across from a comfortable looking couch, and she took a seat. Revy moved toward the chair, took a seat, and instantly felt the exceptional comfort from the leather chair.

"Would you care for some tea?"

Revy shook her head and Ling Ling nodded, "Yan, please wait outside of the door, this will only take a moment."

Yan nodded, looked at Revy, and then moved toward the door itself. Ling Ling studied her for a moment picking up a small clipboard that had been sitting on the coffee table before her, "The news reached us this morning," she said as she looked over the clipboard at Revy, "We know that Roxanne, and likely Rock himself, has fully manifested their vampiric powers."

Revy sat there waiting for the ball to drop, "As such, we wish to extend an offer toward Rock, and you, to work closer with us."

What she was saying wasn't unwanted. The Huang Family had resources, and more to the point they could provide protection for both Roxy and Rock. That stood out the most to her. The fact that they could potentially give her family a chance to live a somewhat normal life. It would also mean that she could stay in Roanapur and continue her line of work. The down side, and there was a down side, was that if she worked closer to the Huang Family it would eliminate some of the other avenues of income she had access to. Specifically it might put her at odds with Fry Face. The last thing she needed was for Hotel Moscow to decide that she was a liability.

"We won't ask you to stop working with other organizations as a currier, and potentially as a mercenary or backup," Ling Ling said, and for a moment Revy wondered if the undead bitch had somehow managed to read her mind, "The only time we would strongly request that you sit something out would be if it directly interfered with our business."

She was about to say something when she heard a soft thump coming from a room behind them. The thump itself repeated a couple of times, and Revy prepared for the chance of there being an attack. Instead she heard what sounded like a muffled moan of orgasmic bliss. She looked toward Ling Ling who simply smiled, "Understand that my meeting with you is because I hold you and your husband in the highest regard," she said, her voice sounding sincere and honest, "Otherwise I would be enjoying much of the same."

Revy studied her for a moment, "So, that's the guy you wanted to go and meet, huh?"

Ling Ling tittered lightly, "Yes," she answered, her voice light and happy, "That is my Tsukune, and currently he is giving Kurumu everything she ever wanted from him."

Revy took a moment to think about that, and she tried to imagine what it would be like to share Rock. Eda had certainly shown more than a passing interest in him, but then again she didn't believe that she could do it. Her Rocky Baby was hers and hers alone. He was her shield, and she was his sword. She'd done everything she could to cut down every son of a bitch that tried to destroy her shield. Willingly allowing someone else to have access to him, regardless of the reason, didn't sit well with her.

She looked at Ling Ling who didn't seem to take any offense from her internal debate. Instead the co-head of the Huang Family simply shrugged her shoulders, "I can understand your line of thought on this," she said, her voice never sounding angry or cold, "In truth, polyamorous relationships aren't overly common among monsters either. But, this is a choice I made simply because of what I feel. Tsukune is special to me, but I would not dare take away his chance to have a family."

She sighed softly, "Being dead means that he can be as rough as he wants with me and I will never be hurt," she said gently, "But it also means that I can never give him a child. I want to, I long for the ability, but I simply cannot. It would take multiple changes to my current body to give me the ability, and there is no guarantee that who I am now would remain."

Revy looked at her, "So, it would be like you died all over again."

The Jiang Shi gave a slight nod, "And if everything wasn't done properly I would cease to exist. Instead my Tsukune would simply have an empty shell. My body would be little more than an incubator and sex doll," she replied, "I believe that would bother him far more. So, by joining the relationship he's developed with the others I am able to be part of something more. While I cannot birth any children, I can help in raising them."

Revy studied her for a moment, and she didn't see a monster. She saw another woman, one that was willing to make compromises to achieve what her end goal was. More than that, she saw someone that had found her own shield, and she stood ready to defend it. She was ultimately looking at an altered reflection of herself. That actually made her feel more at ease. Oh, she wasn't complacent enough to just relax. If the situation called for it she would absolutely be ready to attempt to shoot her way out.

She knew that her cutlasses could get her through mermaids and other near human monsters. Against Ling Ling something like bullets would be worthless, but then she knew that if the co-head of the Huang Family wanted she would already be dead. This was an honest meeting, or if she was more honest with herself this was a long term contract offer. She wanted to accept, but she couldn't just answer for her Rocky Baby. He needed to be able to voice his own concerns.

Of course that didn't mean that she couldn't stack the deck as much as she could. There were more than a few things that her Rocky Baby enjoyed that they did. Her time as a dancer had certainly helped her to become more flexible, and while she wouldn't attempt to be some manipulative bitch that said he either did or didn't get to enjoy having sex with her. No, she wouldn't do that, but she wouldn't be above asking after a wonderful bout of lovemaking. There was little doubt that he'd be more receptive to the idea. It was certainly an idea since the terms of the contract, at least the verbal one being given, were generous enough that it wouldn't piss off Fry Face. Besides, the Huang Family did a considerable amount of work with Hotel Moscow. Not to mention that she did want Balalaika to remain Roxy's godmother. Sure, she wasn't exactly the best option, but Fry Face was fiercely protective over her god daughter. That sick bastard that wanted her kidnapped and brought out to his yacht was proof of her protectiveness.

She heard about what had happened, and more to the fact she'd watched the video that Balalaika had taken. The twisted bastard had cried like a baby when they tied him up and doused him with gasoline. They'd then poured the fuel all over his yacht, and finally Balalaika had flicked her still lit cigarette onto the deck of the ship. The yacht had caught fire perfectly, and she could hear the screams of the bastard from inside as the fire worked its way to him.

What happened to him had been more than justified, and Revy wanted that kind of protectiveness for Roxy. Of course since Roxy was like Rock that meant that she was going to live forever, but that also didn't mean jackshit. Lady Dimitrescu's daughter had been tortured by those two brats, and she didn't want that for Roxy. The Huang Family would help look out after her, but at the same time she knew that Balalaika herself was just as monstrous as any of them. She stilled the thoughts for a moment and instead looked at her host.

"It's more than a tempting offer," she replied as she looked at the Jiang Shi before her, "I mean it's practically a no brainer, but I'm not going to speak for Rock."

Ling Ling smiled at her, "And I believed that would be your answer," she said as she studied Revy's face, "Which is why we are requesting his presence as well."

Revy realized that it was obviously a big deal if they wanted them to work closer to them. She could only guess it was because of his status as a vampire. Still, she didn't know exactly what that would entail, "I'm not meaning to piss you off, but I'm guessing that having Rock working with you is a sort of status thing, right?"

Ling Ling nodded, and she leaned forward. Revy couldn't help but notice how more fluid her movements had become. If she was to guess her getting a mighty fine dicking on the regular was to thank for it. Still, she paid attention as Ling Ling seemed to consider what it was that she was going to say.

"Yes," she answered, her voice still light, "Having two vampires in our organization will promote us to a higher status, but there is more than that. The Lagoon Company has proven to be exceptionally resourceful. Rock himself has proven time and time again how ingenious he is when it comes to planning and negotiations. And of course there is you as well."

Ling Ling's smile never faltered, "Revy, you are a skilled combatant. Your skills with various types of weapons, hand to hand combat, and ability to improvise in the moment is just as valuable. That is why we are making this offer," she said simply, "In addition, we may be able to assist you in another way."

Ling Ling took the clipboard she had put in her lap and flipped through the pages for a moment. When she found what she wanted she slid the clipboard to Revy. At that moment Revy saw some strange kind of medical documentation. She looked up at Ling Ling who gave a nod, "Those are your medical records," she said as she studied her, "Specifically, those records indicate that being with Rock has done more than given you a child. The healing properties of vampires doesn't end with their blood apparently. While their blood holds the most power and benefit, it appears that all bodily fluids have healing and transformative powers."

Revy closed her eyes for a moment, "I'm a fuckin' vampire?"

Ling Ling shook her head, "No," she said gently, "Instead you would be considered something of a *Thrall."

Before Revy could even ask, Ling Ling continued, "Thralls are humans, or mortals rather, that happen to be receptive to various monster's influence," she explained, "It also means that you've gained some of his power. Specifically, you've likely seen an increase in your speed, agility, flexibility, and strength."

Revy considered it all for a moment, and Ling Ling wasn't wrong. She'd certainly become faster. From the time that Rock recovered and they married, to having Roxy, and finally up to this point she had become far faster. The strength thing she wasn't so sure about, but her hand to hand fighting, what little there was, tended to end a lot quicker. Although Rock could still hold her with no problem.

"What does that mean for me?" she asked, feeling curious, "I mean, does that mean that I'm going to turn into something different?"

Ling Ling studied her for a moment, "You could, if you chose to," she replied simply, "You've been exposed to Rock for a long enough time that your body has adjusted enough to finish a transformation. You could become just like him, or perhaps something else. Although, I would assume that you would much rather be in the same category as they both are, correct?"

Revy couldn't deny that she would love the chance to be like Rock. to know that she would be with him forever, and that she could potentially take care of her daughter forever. She still wanted Balalaika to be her godmother. If anything happened to her or Rock she could think of no one better that would watch over her daughter. Granted, the head of Hotel Moscow was mortal, but she was certain that she could sit at the adult table with all ease.

Rock had taken that step when they were delivering Ling Ling and everyone else to her Tsukune. If given a chance she was sure that Fry Face would step up and show that she could be just as savage and brutal as any of them. In truth she could see her carving out a small empire in the monster world as well.

*Bite Sized Monster Fact 1: Nymphs are members of the fae that are connected to various elements. All Nymphs have the ability to bend their element to their will. A water Nymph is able to control water in practically any location. This includes the inside of a person's body. However a Nymph's power is decreased the further they are from their element.

*Bite Sized Monster Fact 2: A Thrall is a human, or rather a mortal, that has been touched by Vampiric, or other powerful monsters, influence and has gained some of their abilities. Thralls are exceptionally receptive to all Monster Blood and can be converted over toward a monster race fairly easily. Thralls themselves are fairly rare in that not all humans are exceptionally receptive. In addition, some monsters still consider them to be an abomination and will attempt to hunt them to extinction.
