BGM: Rito Village - Day (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"Hmmm…" Revali folded his wings.

"What's wrong?" Weiss asked.

"Nothing… I'm just surprised you decided to name this bald eagle after me."

"I mean, eagles can be warriors. They're great at hunting."

"Oh, I know. I'm just not sure if I should feel insulted that you think I'm bald or I should be flattered that my spirit lives on in the talons of this majestic creature."

Weiss tilted her head. "Why would you feel insulted? …Is it because of your pride?"

"Well-"

"Think about it. Bald Eagles are badasses and you're a badass too! So it's like-" She immediately noticed the smug grin on Revali. "...Uh oh."

"Tell me again how badass I truly am."

"I'm not repeating myself."

"Hmph. Worth a shot." He chuckled.

"So, where are you off to now?" Li asked.

"Well…" Weiss folded her arms, remembering something. "Where can I find a labyrinth?"

"Excuse me?" Li raised an eyebrow.

End BGM

"A labyrinth. I… found one in the Akkala Highlands where I found my brother."

"Your brother?" Revali perked up. "I haven't seen Whitley in a long time. Nice guy. Wonder if Lanayrans have a long life span when they're not sealed up-"

"He's dead." Weiss said solemnly.

"...Oh."

"Sounds like you need a hug. C'mere!" Daruk said as he gave her a hug, which was surprisingly gentle this time around.

"Thanks." Weiss smiled. "But… he lives on in an AI that he made that looks exactly like him. He put his AI look-alike inside of a Guardian where he split his parts before he…" She closed her eyes. "...Before a Guardian got him."

"Quick question." Teba said. "What is-"

"Artificial Intelligence."

"Thank you."

"Yeah, this sounds like something he'd do after hanging around those eggheads for too long." Revali said.

"In his message, he said he scattered three Guardian parts in the labyrinths across Hyrule. I had found the head underneath the Lomei Labyrinth in the Akkalan Sea. He mentioned the Tabanthan Tundra and Gerudo Desert."

"Come to think of it, I did see a labyrinth in Tabantha a few weeks ago." Li said. "When you reach the Snowfield Stable, head north until you find a shrine, then head east."

"Thank you." Weiss nodded.

"I'd be careful… a few Lynels hang around that area."

"Right."

"You going to be okay finding your artificial brother's body parts?" Revali asked.

"Yeah… I think I will." Weiss nodded and looked at her new pet eagle. "Come on, Revali. Let's head over to the Tabanthan Tundra."

The two of them set off while Revali rubbed his beak in thought.

"Something on your mind, Master Revali?" Teba asked.

"I'm going to go see this Lomei Labyrinth at the Akkalan Sea myself." He said.

"I'll come with you. I'm curious." Teba said.

"I want to come too! I wanna fly with Master Revali!" A voice exclaimed as they turned to see Tulin approach.

"Ah… right, I had meant to fly with him to the Flight Range for some archery practice." Teba rubbed his head.

"We can take a detour first, then we'll see what the little hot shot can do." Revali said, giving Tulin a friendly smirk. "Just try to keep up." He encouraged as he flew off.

"Li, right?" A voice asked as Li turned to see Penny.

"That would be me."

"My mother would probably be interested in your Teleportation Arrows. Do you want me to take you to her?"

"Hmm… I suppose a little trip wouldn't hurt."

"Excellent~!" Penny smiled, picking up Li as Terrako hopped up and crawled onto Penny's shoulder, then they flew off together.

"Welp… I suppose I'll mosey on back to Death Mountain." Daruk said, looking at Mipha. "Want to walk with me?"

"Sure."

BGM: Mount Hylia (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

Weiss walked into the snowy tundra with Revali on her shoulders. The mage knight hummed as she walked through the snow after what the blizzard left behind. Revali shot up into the air and flew around, keeping close to Weiss.

The bald eagle spotted a tower with several Bokoblins on the bottom dancing around a fire to keep themselves warm, including a Moblin. Revali flew over to investigate and also noticed an exploding barrel near the edge.

Revali flew over to said barrel, anaylizing the whole situation as he landed and gave the barrel a little nudge, sending the barrel crashing into the ground and exploding, sending all the Bokoblins flying while knocking down the Moblin.

Weiss laughed. "Okay, that was pretty good." She said as she kept walking while Revali flew away from the crime scene he committed and went back to accompany Weiss.

They soon reached the Hebra Tower as Weiss used her wind to propel herself up into the air and landed gently on the top of the tower, proceeding to activate it after putting her Sheikah Slate into the pedestal.

Once more of the map appeared on Weiss's slate, she hopped off and gently descended into the snow, then she headed off, finding the Snowfield Stable up ahead, along with a shrine… which she immediately went into first while Revali resorted to landing near a campfire that some locals had built.

"Huh, that's unusual…" One of them mumbled.

BGM: Shrine (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Rin Oyaa. In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial."

Directing the Wind

"Hmmm…" Weiss looked at what was in front of her.

A few wind turbines leading directly to the switch. There was also a large gap that would push the orb down, hence the metal block nearby.

Weiss looked down at the orb in front of her, but also noticed the switch was directly in front of it. She proceeded to make some glyphs tilting diagonally to create a ramp and also used some ice walls, just in case if it fell off.

Weiss picked up the orb and rolled it down the ramp, where it dropped into the switch and caused the platform to rise up.

"...Oh. I think I should've been on the platform." She said. "...Eh." She used her Wind magic to fly herself up, also nabbing an Ancient Core from a chest as she went to collect her Spirit Orb.

BGM: Stable (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

Weiss walked out of the shrine. She whistled to get her eagle's attention as Revali flew up and landed on her shoulder.

"I was wondering where the bald eagle came from." A voice said as Weiss turned to see Roman approaching along with Neo.

"Yeah, saved him from a Moblin and he wanted to tag along with me."

"So you basically adopted him as a pet?"

"Pretty much." Weiss giggled as Neo walked over, gently petting the eagle's head as Revali leaned into the petting, causing Neo to silently giggle.

"So, what's his name?"

"Revali. Named after the greatest Rito warrior of all time."

"I see. By the way, aren't you cold? We could give you something to warm yourself up."

"Nah, i'm good. I'm immune to the cold." Weiss smiled.

"...That's a new one. But I'm sure your new friend isn't." Roman pointed out.

"What do you got?" Weiss wondered.

After a few moments, Weiss walked away, waving goodbye to the duo as Revali was wearing eagle sized earmuffs, a scarf, wing-like mittens and an eagle sized beanie.

Resume Mount Hylia BGM

"I don't know how they had such specific clothing for a bird, but I'm not complaining." Weiss said, silently wondering if they had specialized clothing for the Rito in general, just in case if they had a cold snap.

Weiss shrugged, walking north through the Tabantha Tundra as it was lightly snowing. As she kept walking, she would immediately come across a white maned Lynel that was minding its own business.

The Lynel turned his head, seeing Weiss in front of him.

Both of them stared at each other, one of them daring the other to make a move. Both of them narrowed their eyes.

Weiss could move around, but that would make him more interested in her. One false move and he'd be hunting her down.

Seems like she didn't have a choice.

She took out her Guardian Sword as the Lynel took out his weapons, both of them narrowing their eyes with a respectful nod toward each other.

Both of them got into position as Revali circled around the two from above.

BGM: Heart of the End (Hyrule Warriors)

Both of them lunged as they both slashed each other, their blades clashing against them as the Lynel opened his mouth. Weiss snapped her fingers as a glyph got between them right as he breathed fire, causing an explosion that wrapped around the Lynel, but he immediately jumped out.

Weiss conjured up an ice bow and fired ice arrows as the Lynel ran around, taking a few hits before he turned around and tried to go for a hit and run with his sword, but Weiss backflipped at the right moment, where everything went into slow motion as she landed and flurry rushed him.

The Lynel snarled, backhanding Weiss away as she landed on her back but rolled back to get back up, narrowly avoiding a fireball as the Lynel charged ahead and swung at Weiss, but she used Revali's Gale to get up high into the air and then landed on top of the Lynel's back.

The Lynel roared, trying to buck her off while Weiss slashed him in the back until she was promptly bucked off of him as he turned around, raising his arms up high and attempted to clap her head into paste, but Weiss ducked at the right moment and counter slashed him in the stomach.

With a growl, the Lynel jumped back, got on all fours and started charging.

"DARUK'S PROTECTION IS NOW READY TO ROLL!"

"Wha…?!" Weiss jumped at the sudden shouting that it made her lose concentration… and got headbutted by the beast, sending her flying several yards and crashing into the snow. "Nnnngh…!"

She got up, feeling blood pouring out of her abdomen. Yup… definitely got gored… She winced, coughing as some blood came out of her mouth. She put her hand on her wound, using some fire to seal up her wound, which was enough to make her see stars, even if she had the Fireshield Earrings on her.

Weiss got back up as the Lynel was standing there, waiting for her next move. She wiped the blood from her mouth as her eyes turned draconic, her Guardian Sword turning orange as her tattoos glowed brightly.

The Lynel ran around her and then went for another hit and run tactic, but she quickly parried him with the Hylian Shield to stun him and then she fire slashed the Lynel, which was enough to knock him down as she jumped up and fired a few Bomb Arrows to the face.

The Lynel got back up and roared, raising his sword up high and slammed it down on the ground, creating an explosion that knocked Weiss back.

A loud screech echoed as Revali came down and corkscrewed into him, slamming into the Lynel's face, scratching him up with his talons as the Lynel snarled, backhanding the eagle as he turned to face Weiss, only to see her gone.

He raised an eyebrow with a snort, unaware that Weiss was above him. She landed on top of him and proceeded to draconically slash him, which was enough for the Lynel to kick his feet back with a roar before falling in defeat.

End BGM

Weiss picked up his sword and shield, putting it away and then walking off to the shrine, holding on to her wound that the Lynel gave her. A few cuts were one thing, but a full on goring? She was amazed she was still standing, let alone being alive.

The Sheikah Slate booped to let her know of the shrine up ahead. She picked up the pace as best she could before she reached it, activating it before walking inside where Revali flew in with her.

BGM: Shrine

"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Sha Gehma. In the name of the Goddess Hylia, I offer this trial."

Shift and Lock

"Ugh…. I don't feel like doing the whole damn thing…" Weiss mumbled in pain as she walked forward, using Magnesis to lift up the metal cube and held it there with glyphs as she climbed up and grabbed the key.

As for Revali, he noticed another chest as he flew over and lightly pecked it as the chest opened up to pull out a Royal Broadsword. He picked it up by the hilt and flew down with it right as Weiss opened the door to the shrine.

"Hmmm…? Oh, thanks…" Weiss said, taking it and then putting it away as she hobbled over to the shrine, hand on wound as she got her Spirit Orb… and felt her pain disappearing. "Phew… much better."

BGM: Mount Hylia

She walked out of the shrine and saw the labyrinth in the distance. With a nod, she made her way over to it. She spotted another Lynel wandering around, forcing her to hide behind a rock wall.

Weiss reached into her quiver, pulling out an Ancient Arrow. "I wonder…" She mused as she nocked it into her crossbow and fired, striking the Lynel… where it slowly evaporated into nothing.

"Whoa!" She said in awe as she walked over to see if he dropped anything… but nothing was laying there for her to snag. "...Oh, it evaporates everything on the wielder. Awww."

She turned around and walked off toward the Labyrinth, making mental notes that the Ancient Arrows instakills Guardians and evaporates anything that's not machine.

"You who have reached this point…. Proceed onward through the maze and you will receive a blessing as reward…"

BGM: Labyrinth (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"Hmmm… I wonder…" Weiss pulled out Whitley's journal as she flipped through the pages, before finding something that caught her attention.

"North Lomei Labyrinth"

He had sketched out the whole labyrinth, and then scribbled in a correct path to the center of the labyrinth.

"Thank you, Whitley!" She said as she followed the maze from the notes, while looking up to deal with some Lizalfos in the maze. She picked up a Meteor Rod, an Edge of Duality and some Rupees.

As she continued further while looking through her notes, she felt the air getting thinner as she looked up to see some malice. She fired an arrow at the eye to get rid of it and then continued onward until she reached the shrine.

"Hehe, thank you~!" Weiss smiled as she flipped the page, noticing something of interest that he had written down.

"From what I can gather, there seems to be labyrinths underneath these mazes, but I can't tell for sure how to get in there. For now, I'll call these… The Depths. Perhaps one day, we can explore what lies beneath Hyrule."

"Probably an ancient evil." Weiss chuckled at her own joke as she walked into the shrine.

BGM: Shrine

"To you who sets foot in this shrine… I am Qaza Tokki. By entering this place, you've already proven your worth."

Qaza Tokki's Blessing

Weiss walked up to the chest, pulling out Barbarian Leg Wraps. "...Huh…? Okay." She put them away to collect her Spirit Orb.

End BGM

Once she walked out, she started to walk away from the shrine, but then she spotted a cell opening. She walked into it out of curiosity, only to discover three Guardian Legs.

"Oh!" She walked over to it and examined them. "This must be some of Whitley's legs." She said, using her Sheikah Slate to scan it.

The moment she touched them, they suddenly glowed blue before turning into a bright light and flew away from the labyrinth, watching it change course almost immediately.

"I guess they're going to Akkala."

"Weiss… please… come to Lanayru Mountain."

"Mmm…" Weiss rubbed her head. "Alright… guess I'll go see what lies beyond there." She said as Revali landed on her shoulder as she looked through her map.

She was about to select Hateno, but noticed there was a route for her to take just outside of Kakariko.

"Oh! Well, I can take this route then." She said as she selected the Lakna Rokee Shrine and then she and Revali warped over to the location.

Revali let out a small distressed cry once they had materalized at the shrine. "It's okay, sweetie… it happened to me too." She said, gently caressing his head to calm him before they headed over, but then also noticed the Fairy Fountain.

She immediately recalled what happened to her in Hebra, so she marched over to the Fairy Fountain.

BGM: Fairy Fountain (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"Hey!" She called out to her. "I have an issue with your sister!"

"Hmm?" Cotera came out stretching. "Oh hello, sweetie. Which one?"

"Kaysa!"

"Ah, Kaysa… what about her?"

"She sensed I had dragon power so she thought she could give me a boost. Next thing I know, she dragged me into her fountain and practically molested me!"

"Oh, did she now?"

"Yes! Not to mention the kiss was… eugh…!" Weiss shuddered. "I'd rather have my first kiss be with someone special…"

"Aww, but Kaysa is someone special, dear… though, I'm totally jealous that she kissed you first."

"...Wait, what are you talking about?"

"Perhaps I should give you another boost of magic power so you're not fatigued by your power of the dragon~"

"Um, wait… okay… uh… when you mean by that-"

"Come here~!" Cotera reached over to her.

"Wait! Wait wait wait… NO NO NO! NOT AGAIN! NOOOO!" She yelled as she tried to run but she grabbed her and pulled her in. "AAAAAAAAH!"

The bald eagle blinked, tilting his head while sweatdropping, not to mention he looked a bit disturbed.

At that moment, Cotera came out and patted Weiss on the head before going back into her fountain, giggling while doing so.

Weiss shuddered. "I just hope Ruby's a lot gentler…" She groaned… before she blushed. "Did I just say that out loud?"

"You did indeed~!" Cotera giggled.

Weiss blushed a deep red. "Rev-Revali… l-let's just go…" She said as she walked off with steam coming out of her ears as Revali flew near her.

BGM: Field - Day (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

Weiss followed the map on her Sheikah Slate, walking ahead before making a right, then kept walking until she walked through some ruins, finding herself in the Lanayru Promenade. She looked up to see Mount Lanayru up ahead.

"I'm close." She said as she walked along the path, knocking down Bokoblins and Moblins along the path, even taking down a few Lizalfos that were swimming in the water.

As she kept going, she soon got to the gate, but stopped for a moment. She looked around, narrowing her eyes as she looked at her slate, looking through her pictures as she looked around again, before gasping, widening her eyes.

"Eheheh…" Daruk grimaced, keeping a respectful distance from Zwei as he was in Urbosa's arms, getting ear scratches from her and Mipha. He glanced over to see Weiss and a distraught Ruby approaching them.

"I don't like that look in her eyes…" Urbosa said solemnly as Weiss and Ruby got closer.

"Well…? Don't keep us in suspense!" Daruk hoped, but to their dismay, Ruby looked down and solemnly shook her head.

"So you didn't feel anything?" Revali asked. "No power at all?"

"I'm sorry, no…" Ruby responded.

"Then let's move on." Urbosa said, trying to cheer her up. "You've done all you could. Feeling sorry for yourself won't do you any good. After all, it's not like your last shot was up there on Mt. Lanayru. Anything could finally spark the power to seal Ganon away. We just have to keep looking for that… thing."

Weiss looked at Ruby in concern. "That's kind of you, thank you…" Ruby responded.

"If I may…" Mipha spoke up. "I thought you… well, I'm not sure how to put this into words… I'm actually quite embarrassed to say it. But I was thinking about what I do when I'm healing. You know, what usually goes through my mind… it helps when I think-... when I think about-"

Suddenly, the ground started to shake violently, nearly causing everyone to stumble as Revali flew up into the air to see what was going on. He gasped, seeing Calamity Ganon rising out of the castle and roaring.

"It's here…" Urbosa said, gently putting Zwei down as Revali landed on the ground.

"This is it, then…" Daruk said.

"Are you sure?" Mipha asked.

"Positive." Revali nodded.

A cold shiver ran down Ruby's spine. "It's awake… Ganon…" She gulped, seeing the skies darken. She slowly backed up.

"Let's stop wasting time!" Daruk said. "We're gonna need everything we got to take that thing down! Now champions! To your Divine Beasts! Show that swirling swine who's boss! Weiss will need to meet Ganon head on when we attack! This needs to be a unified assault! Little lady! You get to Hyrule Castle. You can count on us for support, but it's up to you to pound Ganon into oblivion!"

Urbosa gently put her hands on Ruby. "Come. We should go. We need to get you and Zwei someplace safe."

"...No!" Ruby protested. "I'm not a child anymore! I have my own weapon that can help Weiss out. If it means taking him down for good, then so be it!"

"I'll make sure she's safe." Weiss said. "Her and Zwei."

"Good luck out there." Revali said.

"Same to you." She nodded.

Weiss shook her head. "Yeah… guess that didn't work out so well…" She mumbled, and then felt Revali pecking her head. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Okay, I'm back in reality!" She laughed as Revali let out a small cry before flying up into the air as Weiss went forward… and saw a Lynel wandering around.

Crap! She thought and then quickly hid behind the trees, making sure not to alert the beast. The Lynel heard some rustling and turned around.

He slowly pulled out his bow. At that moment, Revali flew out of the trees and flew over the Lynel.

The Lynel snorted, turned around and walked away where Weiss had the opportunity to go around until she made her way into the snowy mountain, where Revali flew back down to accompany her.

"Thanks, bud." Weiss smiled.

BGM: Corrupted Dragon (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

The two of them made way to the top of the mountain. A few Ice Lizalfos attempted to ambush Weiss, but she melted them with her fire… but something seemed to trouble her.

"Something feels off about this place… why…?"

Weiss continued her trek up the mountain, and the more she walked, the more the atmosphere felt colder and heavier. It was nearly enough to make her pass out, but she was determined to see things through.

With more Ice Lizalfos melted and ice Pebblits trying to clobber her ankles, she continued up and made one final turn… to see a horrid sight that nearly made her breathless.

Naydra covered in malice, resting on the peak of the mountain just above the Spring of Wisdom.

"Naydra…?!" Weiss could barely speak.

"Thank goodness you are here." A voice spoke from the Goddess Statue. "Can you help free Naydra from the curse? She has been like this for a hundred years…"

"Ganon cursed this majestic beast…"

Magic surged through Weiss.

"I'll break you free." She said, immediately blasting an eye away with a Bomb Arrow, which set Naydra free.

However, the corrupted dragon roared as she lifted from the peak and flew off.

"H-hey! Where are you going?!" Weiss asked as she activated her wind magic. "Revali, let's save this beast!"

Revali screeched as the two flew after. The Mage Knight forming an ice bow and fired ice arrows, striking one eye as Revali flew up high and dive bombed, scratching the eye of another malice eye.

Weiss picked up the pace, firing an arrow at Naydra's face, destroying another eye as they continued to fly around and freed Naydra of the malice.

Naydra let out a thankful roar that echoed throughout Lanayru Mountain as she flew back to the peak of the mountain.

BGM: Purified Dragon (The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild)

"Thank you." The goddess spoke.

"You're welcome." Weiss said as she smiled at Naydra who rested back on the peek, letting out another roar of gratitude. She glanced over at an object in the spring at the foot of the statue. She walked over toward it and knelt down, seeing a rapier in front of her.

"What…?"

"I see you've reunited with your weapon." A voice said as Weiss turned around to see a man standing there with his arms behind his back. He looked well groomed and even had a white mustache on his face.

"Wait… who are-...?"

Weiss let out a gasp, flashing back once more.

"Nnngh… hah… hah…" Weiss fell on one knee, panting. She had Myrtenaster in her hand as she looked up at her spar partner, which was none other than her father, Jacques Schnee himself.

"Your skill has improved, but you need more than magic in order to be the princess's Mage Knight."

"I don't understand… you're nothing more than a political man helping aid the king… how are you so great with weaponry…?"

"Perhaps in due time, I will tell you." He said, holding a sword of his own. "Again."

Weiss got back up and lunged. "HAAAAAH!" She yelled, attempting to stab her old man but he casually parried her and slashed up, knocking Myrtenaster off of her hand as he then pointed his sword at her.

"As I said, you've improved but you're still a bit sloppy. Pick up that sword and try again."

"Can't Winter do this with me instead?"

"No."

"Figures…"

Weiss snapped out of her thoughts, her eyes widening. "Father…?"

"Yes, daughter." Jacques gave her a friendly warm smile, opening his arms up. "It's me."

Weiss immediately hugged him, where he wrapped his arms around her, and then she backed up.

"I think it's time you told me how you're so good with weaponry."

"Well, considering I'm dead, I might as well…" Jacques chuckled. "Now, where should I begin?"

Meanwhile…

A Guardian lit up from the Lomei ruins. Teba put his wing out in front of Tulin, and then Revali got up front, aiming his bow at him.

"Master Revali, don't-"

"I'd rather see you two alive rather than perish. Besides, I'm already dead. What's this going to do… kill me again?"

The Guardian moved his head and fired off a beam, showing off Whitley's AI.

"Hello Revali." Whitley said.

Revali blinked. "Whitley?"

"I am but his creation, his AI."

Revali walked forward, waving his wing to try and touch him, but his wing went right through him.

"Huh… well I'll be plucked."

I was gonna do Jacques' backstory this chapter, but I thought "...Nah. Let's do that next chapter instead."
