Rising Storms
A Harry Potter and Percy Jackson crossover
Part 2
Chapter 8:
Percy
Percy remembered waking up groggily last week with no knowledge of who he really was. The only thing he remembered was his name and the name of someone important to him: Pol. Percy spent some time training with a wolf, of all things, and then he was sent out to head to camp Jupiter. He didn't know where to go, if he was heading in the right direction, or even if he would be welcomed in this camp.
As Percy ventured through the dense woods of California, a sense of disorientation clouded his mind like a thick fog. His footsteps echoed hollowly in the silence, the only sound in the vast expanse of wilderness. With each step, he felt like a stranger in a foreign land, his surroundings unfamiliar and unsettling.
The memory of his own name echoed in his mind like a distant echo, a flicker of recognition in the darkness. Percy. It was a name that felt strangely familiar yet elusive, like a dream slipping through his fingers. And beside it, another name surfaced in his consciousness: Pol. But what significance it held, he couldn't say.
As he walked, Percy struggled to piece together the fragments of his fractured memory, grasping at the threads of his past like a drowning man clutching at straws. But try as he might, the memories remained stubbornly out of reach, slipping through his grasp like grains of sand.
All he knew for certain was that he had to keep moving forward, to press on in search of answers, no matter how elusive they seemed. And so, with determination burning in his heart, Percy pushed onward into the unknown, his steps guided by the faint glimmer of hope that somewhere, somehow, he would find the truth that had eluded him for so long.
He heard monsters coming closer. 'Why did they always chase after him? And they kept coming back to life?' Percy was so confused right now.
"We smell you, Percy Jackson," said one of the monsters.
"Yes, nice boy," said another. "Would you like some candy?"
"That's enough of asking the son of Poseidon that." The third monster chastised the second. "The candy isn't even that good. The poison is subpar at best."
Percy pulled his pen out of his pocket as he listened to them argue. He was pulling the cap off of the pen when they finally saw him. He looked at the three women warily.
They looked as the blade formed, glowing slightly. "Get him!" yelled the first monster. She seemed to be the leader of the three. As they came at him, Percy swung his sword, cutting through two of the monsters swiftly. "How dare you kill my sisters!" The leader screeched at Percy.
She lunged at Percy and he spun in a circle, missing her claws, and stabbed her in the stomach. She, like her sisters before her, turned to dust. "Whew!" Percy ran a hand over his face. "I better leave before they reform." He turned his sword back into a pen, and ran.
Over the next six weeks, Percy found himself fighting and defeating the same monsters over and over again. He was getting so tired of this! Where was this camp Jupiter place? He was passing a building in a town that he had somehow found himself in, when he saw an old hippy woman with a hunched back and warts all over.
"Sonny," said the woman. "Can you help me across the road?"
Percy was wary of helping her because looks can be deceiving and she could suddenly attack him. "Sure," he replied. He helped her stand up and then they slowly made their way to the road. "Are you sure you want to cross this road? It's pretty busy."
"Yes, it must be this road." The woman poked at Percy. "Pick me up and take me across!"
"Okay, okay." Percy knelt down before her, trying not to gag at the smell coming from her. She climbed onto his back and he stood slowly. He stepped up to the side of the road, waiting for a lull in traffic, and then he slowly made his way across the road trying to avoid getting hit.
Sometimes cars would honk at the two as they crossed, but they made it safely to the other side... where trees stood tall above them. "There," the woman said, pointing at a cave. They heard the monsters coming and the woman said, "Hurry, son of Poseidon."
There were two guards standing at the cave entrance, and they rushed forward when they saw the monsters. "Go," said the girl, talking to her companion. "I've got this."
The boy with her glanced at her worriedly, and then nodded. "Come on," he said to Percy. "I'll get you to camp."
Percy nodded and followed the other guy, hitching the hippy woman up his back again. They ran through the cave, and through an opening to camp. Percy saw a river, and they rushed towards the river to cross. Percy turned to look back at the girl guard. Once she was across the river as well, he used his powers to shoot the water of the river into sharp spears to spear the three monsters, turning them to dust. He made sure that the river took the dust far away.
"Thank you," said the girl to Percy. She turned to the guy next to Percy with a question, "You okay, Frank?"
"I'm good, Hazel," said the baby-faced demigod. He smiled at her. Then he looked at Percy as he let the hippy woman down. "Thanks, man. What's your name?"
Percy straightened from his crouch, and looking over at Frank. "I'm Percy Jackson."
"I'm Hazel Levesque," Hazel told Percy, holding her hand out. Percy shook it. "He's Frank Zhang."
"Nice to meet you both," Percy said.
"Excuse me," said the hippy woman, drawing their attention. "Percy Jackson, I have brought you to Camp Jupiter. Now your journey begins." Her hippy visage rippled and she became the goddess Juno. "You have unknowingly lost your protection, and now you are normal. You have a long journey before you." She started to glow and the demigods covered their eyes, before she disappeared.
"What did she mean, protection?" Frank asked. Percy shrugged. Frank nodded and said, "Let's go. We have to introduce you to Reina." Frank led the way deeper into the camp and to the eating hall. "Reina," he said, greeting her. "We have a new demigod in camp," he told her.
"Who is it?" Reina asked turning around from her table.
A/N: A cliffhanger? Sorry, not sorry. Lol. :D
