Ch7

Adrien took a deep breath as he set up his laptop and sat down on the chair. Alright I can do this. He quickly set up his Skype and got things ready. His heart raced in his chest, a part of him was nervous since he hadn't spoken to anyone from Paris for a while now.

"Who are you going to call?" Felix asked.

"My biggest fan Wayhem," he said as he made sure everything was set up. "He is the head of my fan club and will be easy to talk to. Starting with him I can lay some groundwork for returning home."

"I see. Good luck then," Felix said as he sat down on a chair to the side and opened a book.

Alright here we go. He had already texted Wayhem with the date of their appointment so when it was time for the meeting he just hit the call button.

The ringing lasted for a few seconds before Wayhem answered the call. "Adrien long time no see!" Wayhem said with a wide smile. "I heard you left Paris. I was so worried since there was on news about why you left."

"Sorry to worry you," he said with a smile. On the inside, he was flattered that Wayhem cared so much for him. "I've been going through some personal reasons that's why I'm taking a break."

He swallowed the lump in his throat as he felt Wayhem's gaze on him. "Anyway I know you are my biggest fan that is why you are the first person I wanted to confide this into. Please don't tell anyone."

"Of course not," Wayhem said quickly. "I am honored to be the first person you called. So is it true you are in England?"

He nodded. "I am staying with family. Anyway I wanted to tell you something to give to my fan club. I need you to tell them that I am going to return to Paris soon, spread the word to all of Paris. Can I trust you with that?"

"Of course!" Wayhem said immediately. "I'll let everyone know and don't worry I won't say anything personal about you."

"Thanks," he said as he sat back in the chair smiling at his friend. "Anyway how have you been?" With that he made some small talk with Wayhem talking about the novelties of his life here in the UK and whatnot.

When it was finally done he hung up. "Well that was a nice conversation," he said as he got up and stretched. "Wayhem is the easy one, now I'll have to call Chloe."

Felix's face contorted in disgust. "Really? That spoiled brat?"

He sighed and nodded. "Yeah we are close and I do owe her an explanation he said as he sat down and took out his phone. He hadn't really paid attention to the many messages and missed calls, he noticed that many of them were from his classmates though one in particular caught his attention.

"Geez Marinette you called me so many times," he muttered looking at the countless missed calls and messages from her. Just looking at them was nauseating. Oh my gosh she has some kind of problem. There were dozens of texts, paragraphs of texts that flooded his screen.

He hadn't realized his mouth was gaping open until Felix sat down on the bed next to him. "What's wrong?" His cousin asked peering at his phone.

"This girl from my class tried contacting me," he said showing his cousin the countless messages and missed calls Marinette sent him.

Felix frowned. "How well do you know this girl?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "She is just a friend. A classmate really, she is nice to everyone so I was nice to her but wow this is a lot of messages. How the hell do I respond to them?"

"You don't," Felis said taking his phone from him and scrolling through the messages his gaze becoming harder "Trust me girls like this can be trouble, I think she might be stalking you. Don't respond we'll save it as evidence in case she gets out of hand." There was something in his voice that surprised him. Felix honestly seemed worried, his eyes betraying shock as he looked at his phone.

"A stalker? No she is just a nice person," he said with a nervous laugh as his mind sort of recalled all of the instances he saw Marinette out of the corner of his vision or how she always seemed to know where he was and what his schedule was. It was strange now that he thought about some of those incidents in detail. "I mean she does seem to know my schedule well but I don't think she is a stalker."

Felix looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "Trust me this is for your own good. This girl seems like a stalker, just look at this message."

His cousin showed him one of Marinette's messages. "I always envisioned us spending our lives together. Please respond to me I miss you dearly. Did I do something wrong? I promise to make up for it."

Ok maybe she missed me a bit too much. Yet his heart sank as he looked at the next one. "I've been searching for information about you from every outlet. I hope you are ok, I just hope you could give me a message. I love you dearly, you being my friend was only supposed to be the beginning. We are meant to be together. Please give me a sign you are ok."

"Oh god," he muttered his eyes widening as a realization hit him. What if all those times he ran into Marinette weren't just coincidences. He slowly covered his mouth. "She must have taken me leaving harder than I thought."

Suddenly her eccentric smile and personality were off-putting. His stomach turned at the memories of her randomly being at places that were private. It was like someone had taken photos of him naked and posted them online. Oh god.

"Oh it gets better," Felix said as he scrolled down a bit. "Take a look at this one."

He looked at the phone and read the text. "Each day I constantly search all over social media for signs that you are ok. Adrien life isn't the same without you in class I constantly wait for you to come back so we can be together. Each day I pass by your fencing class and your house for a sign of you but to no avail. I want you in my life again please if you are ok send me some sign. The fact that you are going off schedule for the three year plan I made for us hurts me."

His jaw dropped. He didn't know Marinette was that into him and reading those texts made a sense of unease wash over him. He heard of stalkers and knew that many famous people had them, he just didn't think he would.

Suddenly that sweet face that Marinette always had seemed dirty, his body shuddered at the idea that his privacy was invaded and like at home he was monitored. "She was so nice though," he said softly his mouth gaping open. "Everyone speaks highly of her." A part of him wanted to tear up, had Marinette been violating his personal space? How long had she been doing this and who else knew?

Felix shook his head. "That doesn't change the fact that she seems to have an unhealthy obsession for you. I'm sending these texts to my email, trust me if this girl gets out of hand we may need them." His cousin's gaze hardened. "Trust this isn't normal and healthy this girl needs to learn boundaries."

"Are you going to sue her?" he asked incredulously. "Can't we give her a warning?"

"Don't worry not yet," Felix said as he sent a copy of the messages to himself. His cousin gave him a cruel smile. "Trust me setting boundaries with fans now will pay off later. If you don't set them they'll just invade your space." His cousin turned to him his gaze sympathetic. "Adrien as your cousin I highly recommend you be cautious with this girl and cut her out of your life if possible. Stalkers like her are just trouble."

"Fine I'll keep my distance," he said. He could tell his cousin meant well and to be honest, Felix did have more experience being in the limelight. Well I'm glad for all that he has done for me. This vacation has really opened my eyes on a lot of things. But out of everything I'm glad that I was able to rekindle my relationship with Felix.

When they were done discussing the Marinette issue he went and called Chloe. "Where the hell have you been Adrien I have been worried sick about you!" Chloe yelled from the other side.

"S-Sorry," he said with a nervous laugh while Felix shook his head and mumbled what a brat under his breath. "I uh had some personal problems and am taking some time off from things. It was sort of mental health related. But don't worry I'll be coming back."

"You better," Chloe said. "Don't ever scare me like that again do you hear me? I was heart broken when you left."

"Sorry," he said as a pang hit his heart. "But I really needed this time off. Anyway I'll be back in Paris and do a few photoshoots. I'll make sure you are invited."

"Good," Chloe said firmly. "I um missed you a lot."

"I appreciate your concern," he said. "Anyway I wanted to ask you something. How has Marinette been? She left a lot of messages on my phone, more than anyone else."

"Ugh that Dupain Chang? She kept on harassing me and others for your information," Chloe said sounding both disgusted and exacerbated. "I'll give her a piece of my mind for bothering you."

"Uh thanks. I don't want trouble with her since she is popular in class just make sure she doesn't stalk my house or anything," he said as a shiver went down his spine at the thought of Marinette camping around his house waiting for him to return.

"Well be safe I expect us to hang out when we return," Chloe said.

"Of course. Goodbye Chloe," he said as he ended the call. "Man she can be a handful," he sighed as he rubbed his head.

Felix frowned. "She is still such a brat as always."

"Yeah but she means well," he said setting his phone down. "Anyway come on lets practice again. If we end up having to fight the new Cat Noir we will have to be prepared."

He didn't want to fight against this new Cat Noir whoever she might be. In fact he wanted to regain his miraculous peacefully if he could. Yet deep down he wanted to be prepared just in case he had to fight for his miraculous.

Felix nodded. "Yeah come on. We should be prepared for a worse case scenario."

They headed to the small fitness area in the mansion. His cousin tossed him a small ring and gave him a metal rod to use. "I'll do my best to take the ring off of your finger."

"Sounds good," he said as he put the ring on and gripped the rod. Feeling the rod on his hand and looking down at the ring a wave of nostalgia hit him. Plagg I don't know what you were hiding but I hope we can mend the bridge between us. Being Cat Noir was the best thing that ever happened to me. I enjoyed the freedom and enjoyed helping defend the city.

Twirling the rod in his hand he took a deep breath and pretended he was Cat Noir. Alright lets do this. Gripping the rod tightly in his hands he charged at his cousin who assumed a fighting stance.

Granted he was now a regular person now but he still had the reflexes of Cat Noir etched into his mind. He swung his rod at his cousin imagining he was fighting an akuma. Felix was agile and dodged his attacks.

His cousin tried to land a few strikes but he quickly dodged the attacks and swung his rod at his cousin. Felix ducked and to his surprise came up close to him and grabbed his right arm. He let out a yelp as his cousin swept his feet knocking him to the ground.

"Got it," Felix said holding the ring in his hand.

"Good job," he sighed as he got up. "But with the miraculous I would be much more agile and alert. Not to mention my cataclysm would be fatal if it hit you."

"You also told me that if used you would turn back into yourself," Felix said as he tossed the ring back to him. "We'll use it to our advantage."

"True. I know what its like being Cat Noir," he said as he put the ring back on his finger.

Felix nodded. "If you want something you have to fight for it."

He nodded. If he wants me back. I'll do whatever it takes to become Cat Noir again. With that he and his cousin continued to spar. Sometimes he won and sometimes his cousin won but he could tell Felix was putting all of his efforts into the session. A part of him was glad his cousin was helping him even if deep down he had his own motives. Still he is family. I'm glad he and his mom took the time to help me.

When they finished their sparring session the two had a quick lunch. "Oh if its alright with you I think there is another person who could help us out."

"Who is it?" Felix asked.

"You remember Kagami right?" He said.

His cousin frowned but his eyes betrayed curiosity. "Yeah does she know about the miraculous?"

He shook his head. "No but I trust her. She could help us I know it." A smile spread across his face as he took out his phone and sent his friend a text message.

Plagg glared at Master Fu. "How many times do I have to tell you I don't want Alya to be my owner. I want Adrien back."

Master Fu sighed and shook his head. "He isn't coming back and Alya is a nice girl. Both her and Ladybug are great role models for the city, especially the young women. I guess Adrien's selfishness really rubbed off on you."

"Selfishness!" He yelled. "You and Ladybug kept hiding things from him!" So did I. The kwami felt guilty about his owner. I placed my loyalty in the Guardian and all he does is want to control me. Adrien if I could only talk to you again and say how sorry I am I promise I'll come clean.

"He was just a child," Master Fu said shaking his head. "He wasn't ready and I imagine he still isn't. Don't worry soon you'll have a selfless owner. Alya is a delightful soul and will bring inspiration to many girls just like Marinette"

"I will only recognize Adrien Agreste," he said meeting the Guardian's gaze.

"Well as Guardian I have a say in who is your owner," Master Fu said raising an eyebrow. "I deem Alya a necessity at the moment."

He huffed and flew back into the miraculous box. Adrien if you are out there I'm sorry I really am. If you can't be my partner no one else can I'll see to it. Everyone made mistakes and he regretted every day not trusting Adrien.

AN: Spoiler alert but if anyone is interested in seeing a semi realistic view of how Gabriel would react if he knew about the things Marinette did to get close to Adrien stay tuned.
