Heath leans back and watches Money in the Bank with a vacant look in his eye, Maryse next to him and Monroe's soft babbling filling the mostly quiet room while Alicia and Ricardo keep the baby occupied. "I hope he wins," Maryse mumbles, watching Miz's entrance for his match against Shane.
"Me too, babe," Heath sighs, squeezing her hand lightly. "Me too." She rubs at her stomach and he stares at her. "Alright?"
"Yeah," she says with a small smile. "Just nervous. I'm fine." She guides his hand over to rest against the swell of where their second child is growing and he grins goofily at her. "I love you."
"I love you too." They turn their attention back to the TV and watch, tense and anxious, as the bell rings and the match begins. Ricardo looks up and focuses on the action too, grimacing as Mike takes some really brutal hits against the steel cage, giving as good as he gets at time... until Shane gets to the top, Miz gripping his shirt, just for Shane to finish climbing over and squirm free, hitting the floor hard while Mike blankly grasps at thin air as he realizes he's lost yet again. "Shit!" Heath says vehemently, Maryse hissing at him. "Sorry," he flushes, "sorry, sorry."
Monroe barely even looks up, however, Alicia expertly keeping her busy with crayons and a coloring book. "Sorry, man," Ricardo tells him, frowning at the TV as they segue to the next match. "Damn, poor Mike... He had a lot riding on that win, but at least you guys have the proof..."
"It was more than proof," Maryse mumbles. "This match had to do with Mike's pride. He's lost so many matches lately..."
It's undeniable, so Ricardo can't think of anything to do other than nodding quietly, grimacing as he turns his focus back onto the rest of the PPV. By the time Heath and Maryse decide to leave, Monroe is fast asleep, Alicia rocking her gently and humming softly. Maryse gently takes her and Heath shushes her lovingly when she stirs and fusses. "We've got ya, baby girl," he tells her, kissing her cheek as they walk her to the car.
"I'm really sorry tonight didn't go the way you both were hoping," Alicia tells them, leaning on Ricardo. "Maybe next time, things will be better."
Heath and Maryse exchange glances. "Yeah, hopefully," he says, sounding more tired than optimistic. "Thanks for having us over, guys. See ya soon."
"See ya," Ricardo echoes, arm snug around Alicia's waist. "Try to have a good night, guys."
"Thank you," Maryse says. "You as well." They leave and Ricardo and Alicia exchange grim glances.
"Man, I feel really bad for Mike," he mumbles as they walk inside together.
"Me too," Alicia sighs, snuggling up against him as he settles down onto the couch. "I may call AJ later."
"She'd probably like that," Ricardo nods, stroking her hair soothingly. He doesn't regret the move to Texas, but sometimes he thinks if it would've been better for them to stay relatively closer to family and friends. Exhaling softly, he kisses Alicia's forehead and hugs her close, lost in thought about their friends and everything they're going through.
Hopefully they'll be ok...
