Happy Sunday. I can't wait to hear what ya'll think about this chapter! Love Ya'll!
When Tris wakes up on Visiting Day, she is thankful to have a break from training and to be able to spend the day with her family. She runs to Max's arms as soon as he enters Hana's apartment with Uriah.
"Hi Daddy," Tris says as she tries to out the word for the first time. She never felt right calling Andrew "Father". It was formal and stiff. In the time she'd spent with Max, she felt a connection with him.
It made his heart melt hearing his daughter call him daddy. He would move heaven and earth to protect her.
"I'll never get tired of hearing that," Max tells her honestly as he hugs her tight, and Tris giggles.
Max had dropped in to watch the initiates train as much as he could over the past few weeks. He was impressed with his daughter. She was tough and she didn't give up. There were a few early mornings before everyone else made their way to the training room when she would be alone working on her fighting techniques, and he would join her. It was nice to have alone time with her, helping her with her fighting stance or punches even if it was only for an hour. He couldn't wait until initiation was over and he could have more time for her.
"There you are," Hana says coming from down the hallway of the small apartment.
"Hi Ma," Uriah tells her, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"Look at you, who hit you like that? Lynn?" Hana fusses as she sees the bruise on Uriah's cheek and grabs his chin moving his face so she could get a better look.
"Of course, I still won though," Uriah says proudly.
"And look at this!" Hana says moving to Tris who grins as she inspects her face just as she had Uriah's.
"Tris is a tough fighter" Tobias speaks up as he and Zeke enter through the door.
Tris gives Tobias a deep hug while Zeke greets Uriah, Hana, and Max.
"It's killing me not being able to talk to you" she whines as she moves to give Zeke a hug next.
"I know, look on the bright side, you're halfway through already" Tobias reminds her, savoring her hug but not missing the smirk that Zeke gives him.
The day is fun, Tris feels so relaxed among her family and Tobias just fits in. There's a moment when they lock eyes across the table where she can tell he's thinking the same thing. This is what family and life were about, not what they had growing up in Abnegation. The only thing missing for Tris was her mom.
"When are you going to see Mom again?" Tris asks Max as Hana brings out the chocolate cake, she picked up from the dining hall the day before.
"I'm not sure, I have a council meeting next week that I need to prepare for. I didn't want to keep up the same pattern, just in case anyone was watching. She misses you though."
"Has she seen Caleb?" Tris wished she could see him, but she and Tobias agreed it wasn't a good idea to go to Abnegation right now, especially since Caleb needed Marcus and Andrew to trust that he was loyal to them.
"Yes, she has, and he's fine, everything seems to be going as it should right now. Once he finishes initiation, we'll find a way to see him" Max assures his daughter. Tris nods and starts to eat her cake.
After lunch, Hana braids her hair for her, Tris knows she has never laughed so much listening to Zeke and Uriah telling their best prank stories while Max and Hana fill in how they were punished when things get out of hand. Then they all play a card game, and it brings more laughs as Tris and Tobias try to learn the rules. Today really had been one of the best days she could ever remember, and it wasn't even over because she was heading to her first party next.
Later in the evening, Tris, Uriah, Zeke, and Tobias tell Hana and Max goodbye and head off for some fun.
"Where are we going?" Tris asks excitedly as she follows them down a hallway she'd never been before.
"A place where we like to crash and hang out. I think it used to be some kind of old storage unit, on the far side of the compound but there was just a bunch of old training equipment and outdated weapons in it when we found it a few years ago. We've been having parties here ever since" Zeke tells her as they round the corner.
Zeke laughs when her eyes go wide as he opens the door. He and Uriah had found a couple of old couches to place in the space, there were some makeshift tables made out of crates along with a few old mats from the training room.
"This is awesome!" Tris squeals.
"Four, help me pull this out" Zeke instructs as he opens a closet door.
"What's this?" Tris asks, looking at the jars as Tobias pulled out a crate.
"Zeke and I make moonshine. Some of it is trial and error but I think we've gotten pretty good at it" Uriah shrugs as he opens up one of the jars.
"Have you tried it?" She asks Tobias with her eyebrows raised.
"Yeah, and trust me, don't have too much or you'll have one hell of a headache in the morning" He teases.
Slowly people start to trickle in and there's lots of laughing a joking.
"Now the party can start!" Shauna announces when she comes through the door with Lynn who has Christina, Will, and Marlene in tow.
As the party gets going Uriah and Zeke start a card game with a few people. Tobias still wasn't great with people outside of Zeke and Shauna. He usually found a seat and stayed put most of the night unless Zeke or Uriah convinced him to join in on a game.
"I think my sister is into the Stiff, never would have seen that one coming" Shauna comments as she drops into the seat next to Tobias on one of the couches.
"What? Are you sure?" Tobias stammers looking around the room until his eyes land on Tris and Lynn.
"What's up with you and the Stiff?" Shauna asks curiously as she sees the way Tobias reacts to her observation as Zeke and Uriah argue over the last hand played in the game.
"Shauna…Don't" Tobias groans taking a sip of his drink.
"I know you two know each other. It's kind of crazy to find out she's Zeke and Uriah's cousin too," She shrugs.
"Look, please don't make a big deal about this. I don't want to mess up her initiation or make it harder for her because she knows me" Tobias pleads lowering his voice.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I get it" She apologizes. "But how well do you know her? I see how you look at her"
"I don't look at her any kind of way, I look at her how I look at her" Tobias defends.
"Oh yes you do...Don't try to deny it"
"Kind of how you look at Zeke?" He challenges.
"Low blow" Shauna groans narrowing her eyes at him.
"Oh, you can dish it but not take it?" Tobias snorts with an eye roll.
Shauna leans back against the couch biting her lip as she watched Lauren drape herself over Zeke as he moved to allow her to sit in his lap. She had watched him bounce from girl to girl, never looking in her direction. It hurt more than she cared to admit.
"There's no point in being upset, He doesn't think about me that way"
"Well same here" Tobias adds looking across the room to see Tris and Lynn talking.
Shauna pats him on the leg giving him a sympathetic look.
Tris leans against the wall watching everything, taking sips of the drink Uriah poured her when Lynn comes up to start up a conversation.
"So, is this your first party Stiff?"
"Yeah, it is, and you do know I have a name, right?" Tris rolls her eyes. She really was tired of everyone calling her Stiff. She wonders how long it took for people to forget Tobias came from Abnegation.
"My bad, Tris" Lynn corrects. She was amazed at how bold and sassy Tris was. Every day she watched her at dinner. She couldn't believe that someone from Abnegation could be so Dauntless.
Tris takes a drink and grimaces as the alcohol burns going down her throat causing Lynn to laugh when she starts coughing.
"You might want to ease up there"
"That's what Four told me, I guess I'd better listen since I've been warned twice now" Tris coughs again and she blinks her eyes feeling the moonshine flow through her.
"What's up with you two?" Lynn probes nodding her head in the direction where Four was sitting with her sister.
"Nothing…What do you mean?" Tris asks, trying to be cool.
"You two know each other from Abnegation, that much I can tell but were you two a thing?"
"Oh no…He's my best friend, that's all. We thought it would be better to not let everyone know how close we were during initiation" Tris says quickly. She kicks herself mentally wondering why she was so quick to respond that way.
Lynn nods her head in understanding, trying not to smile.
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone" Tris smiles and lets go of the breath she was holding after her slip-up.
"So, what brings you here to talk to me? You're always scowling at me at dinner or breakfast"
"I am not" Lynn replies with her own eye roll.
"Oh yes you are, you even stomped on my toes when you sat down the other day"
"Well, I apologize for stomping on your toes and calling you Stiff. I just, well I find you kind of interesting…"
"Interesting" Tris repeats as she grins and turns her cup up again.
"Yeah, interesting" Lynn smiles back holding her gaze.
Tris feels like there's something else Lynn wants to say but they are interrupted by Zeke.
"Gather around everyone, it's time to play Candor or Dauntless" Zeke announces.
"What's this?" Tris whispers to Lynn.
"If you pick Candor you have to answer the question, Dauntless you do the dare someone gives you. If you refuse you have to take off a piece of clothing. No one hardly ever chooses Candor. It can get pretty wild"
"And you can dare someone to do anything?"
"Yeah..." Lynn replies vaguely. Tris asks a few more questions and Lynn answers as people move to gather around the couches.
Tris nods as Lynn tells her about some of the common dares people give and then a smile crosses her face as she has an idea.
"What's that look for?" Lynn asks.
"Oh nothing" She smiles.
"You're sneaky, I kind of like it Prior" Lynn whispers in her ear and Tris feels herself blush.
The first-round yields Lynn allowing Uriah to shoot an apple off the top of her head, Zeke setting off a firecracker in the middle of the Pit and Tris having to steal something from the Dauntless supply store, and several people losing articles of clothing.
"Candor or Dauntless Lauren," Shauna asks waggling her eyebrows.
"Candor," Lauren says drawing the word out drawing oohhhs and ahhhs from the group.
"How many guys have you given a blow job in the training room closet?"
Lauren shoots Shauna a glare as Zeke turns to look at her. Tobias snickers, Shauna had basically been shooting daggers at Lauren all night. Of course, she was going to try and bring her down a few pegs for hanging all over Zeke.
"Three" Lauren shrugs and then takes a sip of her drink.
Tobias is intrigued when Christina cocks her head to the side and blurts out "I think you're lying, it's way more than three isn't it?"
Tris pulls her lips over her teeth trying not to laugh as Lauren looks like her head is about to explode.
Uriah starts to laugh, and Zeke scowls a little.
"How would you know if I'm lying" Lauren snaps.
"Because you shift your shoulders" Christina shrugs. Tobias continues to watch intrigued.
"So, Lauren, were you lying?" Shauna taunts. "You still have to lose a piece of clothing, unless you want to lose two and lie again, those are the rules"
Lauren clenches her jaw "It's seven…" she says through her teeth as she glares at Christina. "Turn off the fucking Candor integration will you"
Shauna looks at Christina, she nods trying to control her laughter as Lauren loses her shirt.
"Christina, your turn, Candor or Dauntless?" Tris asks waggling her eyebrows. She had whispered to Lynn her plan while everyone was waiting for Zeke to set up his firecracker and Lynn had given her a good suggestion.
"Dauntless" Christina sticks her tongue out at Tris as she laughs.
"Christina, I dare you to play 7 minutes in heaven with Uriah with the stipulation he has to come out with a hickey" Tris grins as Uriah shoots daggers at her.
"Is that technically two dares in one?" Christina asks with her eyes narrowed at Tris.
"I vote this should be considered as one dare as anything can happen in 7 minutes in heaven" Lynn proposes as she raises her cup.
"Yes, I agree, it's like that time Zeke had to break into the Erudite lab and steal a microscope, it was breaking in and coming back with confirmation" Shauna adds.
Tris grins as she looks at Christina who was down to her bra even though she still had her pants on.
Will takes a drink looking like he was going to blow a gasket. Tris wasn't trying to make him mad, but she hoped either he or Uriah would step up and stop letting Christina be non-committal.
Christina hops up and grabs Uriah by the hand, and he practically stumbles as she pulls him toward the closet to the sound of catcalls from the entire room.
"Why do you look nervous?" Christina asks Uriah curiously as she moves an old broom out of the way so she can hop up on a table.
"No reason" Uriah lies, he didn't want to make things awkward by professing his feelings for Christina here in the closet.
"Do you care where I leave your hickey?"
"No, I'll sport it proudly" he grins as he moves to stand between her legs.
Christina chuckles as she moves her lips to his neck and places her hands on his waist.
The feeling of Christina's lips on his neck had Uriah instantly hard. When her tongue swirls around the area a groan escapes his lips, and he pulls Christina's waist closer to his. She smiles against his neck nipping with her teeth. His hands move from her hips to her ass giving it a squeeze and Christina moves her mouth to his for a soft and sweet kiss. Uriah was in heaven with the feeling of her lips on his. Christina whimpers as she presses closer to him, feeling him press against her. She had no idea Uriah was going to be that great of a kisser. He slides his hands around to skim the underside of her breast through her bra and moves his thumb across her nipple.
Christina feels as though she was getting lost in the kiss, feeling as if she was in a daze. She returns to his neck, trying to ignore the growing ache in her thighs.
"Fuck Chris" Uriah groans as she nips back at the spot on his neck. "Fuck the hickey"
Uriah grunts and grabs Christina's head pulling her back to his mouth for a more passionate kiss. Christina pushes Uriah back against the wall of the closet, hoping off the table and Uriah gets the message picking her up by her thighs and then spinning them around quickly to pin Christina's back against the wall.
Christina squeals with delight as Uriah grinds against her. Uriah slides her bra strap down, to free one of her breasts, quickly wrapping his lips around the chocolate nipple, lavishing it with his tongue.
"Uriah,..Oh My God" Christina gasps with a smile on her face. It had been too long since she had been touched and Uriah, knowing what he was doing, was about to send her over the edge.
Forgetting that they were on a time limit, Uriah runs his hands along the waistband of Christina's pants intent on plunging them inside of her to get her off.
The sound of Zeke yelling time was up snaps them out of the hot and heavy make-out session.
"Shit" Christina whispers as she pulls her bra over her exposed breast and Uriah quickly tucks his shirt into his pants trying to breathe deeply to rid himself of his erection.
Christina grins at him as they exit the closet together with Zeke and Shauna eagerly inspecting Uriah's hickey.
A few rounds later, everyone decides to call it quits for the night. Tris sees Uriah's frown as Will and Christina laugh in a corner alone.
"I'm sorry," Tris says quietly.
"It's okay, I know you were trying to help me out earlier" Uriah admits bumping her shoulder with his own and Tris gives him a smile.
"With someone like her, you can't drag your feet, and I waited too long," He sighs.
"Ready to go," Lynn asks coming up and holding out her hand to Tris. Lynn had offered to walk back to the dorm with Tris.
"You good?" she asks her cousin, feeling bad for him even though she was happy for Christina and Will.
Uriah nods as he raises an eyebrow at Tris and Lynn.
"I'll see you tomorrow at breakfast then" Tris blushes and Lynn shakes her head pulling Tris toward the door.
Uriah watches everyone pair up and head out for the night. He was over random hookups, but the girl of his dreams seemed out of reach.
"I had fun hanging out with you tonight," Lynn says as they walk slowly together. It was quiet, as most everyone had passed them on their way to bed already.
"I had fun too" Tris admits as they stop in a small alcove in front of the hall where the dorms were. Tris notices how close she and Lynn are now. Her body was tingling unsure of what she should do or what Lynn wanted.
"I want to kiss you goodnight, but…." Lynn starts. Before she could finish Tris pressed her lips to hers. Lynn chuckles and starts kissing her back immediately.
When they break apart, Tris bites her lip and looks at Lynn smiling.
"You're kind of amazing, you know that," Lynn says. She never would have thought when initiation started, she would be making out with the Stiff.
"Thanks," Tris says with a smile. "See you tomorrow at breakfast"
Lynn waves goodbye as she walks in the opposite direction toward the Dauntless-born dormitory. Tris turns to head to the transfer's dorm but stops when she hears voices.
"I told you I don't want to do this anymore; I'm not cut out for this. I'm never going to make it" A female voice says full of emotion.
"Stop saying that, yes you are" A male voice follows.
"I'm not going to have enough points to make it to Stage Two and we haven't learned anything, Eric's already told us that he can't really help me with initiation. Please come with me."
Tris realizes that the voices belonged to Edward and Myra. She didn't interact with them much, but it did get on her nerves that they were always making out. Edward was a good fighter; he had the most points so far.
"I'm not coming with you Myra; you knew this was going to be tough when you agreed to come" Edward hisses.
Tris heard her sniffle, and it sounded like Edward had left. She stays there still. How was someone supposed to help her? Why did they need to learn anything, but they were Erudite transfers…. Something definitely was going on with Myra and Edward, she just wasn't sure what.
