He feels like he's in a whirlwind. Traveling almost nonstop between Egypt, Barcelona, then back to the States in such a short amount of time, but it allows him to do a fair amount of wrestling and meet'n'greets with fans, and he hasn't felt this fulfilled in a long time. And at the end of the road, he'll be home, which makes it all worth it.
Still... "I can't believe how big he's gotten," Ricardo says in a hushed voice, staring at the screen as Alicia tilts her phone to show their son. "Alicia..."
She smiles a little shakily. "Yeah. We, uh, we've really missed you."
"I'm sorry it's been so long," he says honestly. "I know it's a lot on you. Me telling you my plans is one thing, dealing with the actual situation is something else entirely."
She makes a tense nod, shrug kind of motion and he exhales. "Yeah, it is," she says softly. "But we did it, and you're coming home tomorrow, and everything'll be better. Don't worry about it, Ricardo. I'm just... I'm happy you've back in the states." He'll need to quarantine back in Mike's guest house again, just to be sure, but his being back in the country, and soon, the state, leaves her feeling a little overwhelmed, dizzy almost.
He smiles at her. "Maybe, next time I do something like this, he'll be big enough, and things will be safe enough, we can all go. Maybe finally get that full fledged honeymoon we never really had."
She watches him for a few moments and then smiles. "I'd like that," she says. "Just please tel me you're going to stay home for a little while."
"I will," he promises. "I've done all I need to for now. I'm yours as soon as I'm sure it's safe."
"That's all I need to hear." Her smile grows a little. "Sofia's already planning a menu for when you're back home for real. Sounds like it's going to be a feast so make sure to have a good appetite that day."
He laughs. "I'll do my best," he promises.
Before she can say anything else, the baby begins to fuss and Alicia looks up. "Hang on a second," she says, putting the phone down. Ricardo waits patiently, listening as Alicia makes soft soothing noises, hushing their son, before there's soft rustling sounds and the phone is lifted up to show her holding him as he sleepily blinks towards this odd light source. "Andre, your daddy will be home really soon," Alicia hums, rocking him back and forth gently as she smiles at Ricardo.
He watches them quietly, Andre blinking dazedly as he clings to his mother's shirt, and sighs. "You two are beautiful," he tells his wife, and Alicia's eyes light up.
"You're not so bad yourself," she hums, adjusting her hold on the baby so she can turn the phone, get a better view of the baby. "I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too," he says quietly. "I promise I'll make this up to you, Alicia."
She watches him intently for a bit, then shrugs. "All you really have to do to do that is come home, Ricardo. That's all I really need."
He smiles faintly. "I can do that." I will do that. As soon as I can.
