Charlie tossed open the exit doors to the Hellevator station with a very typical dramatic flair, revealing the golden buildings, bustling streets, crowds of party-folk, and tropical atmosphere of the gluttony ring. As Emily stared in awe at the hexagonal patterns and shimmering flair, part of her was stunningly surprised at just how beautiful Hell could be. The golden aestetic and distant natural beauty was almost heavenly in appearance, but less sterile than most of the solid white, gold and flat clouds.
"Welcomeee to Gluttonyyy!" The demon princess sang. Vaggie had her typical smirk of amusement at Charlie's antics, as Emily let out a small giggle. "Stuff here is all about indulgence, so, whatever fun things you wanna do, let's do 'em!" She then added, "Responsibly, of course."
Vaggie chuckled. "Well, hate to rain on the parade, sweetie, but first thing's first, we should probably go check-in at the hotel."
Charlie paused in her tracks for a moment, still beaming a smile. She had legitimately spaced that part. "Oh. Yeah. Right!" She cleared her throat. "To the hotel!" She cheered, running down the stairs and off along the streets as Vaggie sighed at her.
"Babe, I- fuck... wait up!" She groaned, dashing after her partner. Emily giggled, joining in the chase as well. She dashed along the tan, hexagon-tiled street, slowed as she dodged the various crowds of hellborns stoked from celebration and indulgence, stopping to apologize to each and every one of them. Finally, she stopped her chase as Vaggie came back along the path, dragging a pouting Charlie behind her.
"Sweetie," she said, "it's probably a good idea for us to not get split up here. You're walking around with two fallen angels, plus, one of them doesn't even have a cellphone." She set Charlie back up on her feet like she was a doll, and the aforementioned woman gave a sheepish grin.
"S- sorry, Vaggie, I mighta gotten a tiny bit excitedddd..."
Vaggie rolled her eyes, before giving a small smirk. "God, you're so lucky you're cute."
Emily snickered. "Yes, you're both very cute. Hotel?" She gave Charlie a little smirk, raising a brow quizzically.
"Hotel! Follow me!" She cleared her throat. "I- eheh, I won't run this time."
It wasn't a long walk from where they had been to the hotel, maybe just a few minutes, tops. It took them just a short time to check in, and, receiving their keycards, they went up the elevator to the floor on which their room was located. During the ride up, Charlie eagerly rambled and raved with excitement about all of the hotel's many features and luxuries, such as an on site swimming pool, room service, a rec. room, even a gym, if that was something of interest. And it was, to Vaggie.
Upon reaching the room of their stay, Charlie through open the doors, giving a grand gesture to exhibit the room about them. "Voila! Isn't it Amazing?!" She singsonged. As Vaggie let out a little snicker, giving a stiff expression of agreement, Emily gawked, wide eyed, as she looked about the room with wonder. It was large and golden. There was a robust plasma-screen on the hexagonally patterned wall, just a cross from a moderately sized couch. Next to the couch was an armchair, and on the farthest side of this sort of living area of the room were two doors, only one opened. The door directly ahead of them was slightly ajar and revealed what looked to be a king-sized bed, at the foot of said bed, attached to the wall, was yet another plasma screen. A pair of sliding glass doors led out the bedroom to a balcony which gave a beautiful overlooking of the shimmering skyline. On the other end of the living space on the farthest end of the right wall, the other door, to Emily's conjecture, most likely led into a bath and shower room of sorts. The whole of the place was almost twice the footage of Emily's old room in Heaven, and her room in the Hazbin Hotel. Being a seraphim, while in Heaven, she had always lived in quaint conditions. Everything met her needs -which weren't many in Heaven, however- but nothing was in any way particularly extravagant. After all, such over-indulgence was sinful. And being so used to the small side of things, Emily couldn't imagine living full time in anything so mammoth. But for a one, two nigh stay, tops? It was definitely a lovely novelty.
"Holy cats..." the seraph mumbled. "It's so... big..."
"I know! Isn't it awesome!?" Charlie punctuated her glee by plopping pronouncedly on the couch. Emily giggled, hopping over and joining her.
"It is! I... this feels more like a house than a room," she commented, beaming as she continued ogling about.
Vaggie chuckled, taking her own place in between the two other women. "It's... definitely something." Vaggie commented. Charlie raised an eyebrow and gave an almost worried look.
"Do... do you not like it, Vaggie? Is this too much?"
"N- no, no! It's fine, I mean, it's just-" the angel started to deflect, before being cut off.
"Vaggie," Charlie said flatly, "secrets." That was the only word that needed be said, and the angel, looking just a little ashamed, relented. Emily felt just a tad awkward.
"I... yeah. I mean, a little. Y'know I'm not super into, like... the big and extravagant kinda things, sweetie... Hell, sometimes I think our bed is too big..." the angel mumbled, looking away as if she was offended by herself divulging her own preferences.
"I..." Charlie sighed... "Y- you're right, no... I... I'm so sorry, Vaggie, I wasn't thinking... Of course... this is the smaller side of things in Gluttony, but... it's a lot... I could've done better to find something more reasonable."
"Yeah... it... it's okay, Charlie. It's only for a day or so... besides," she turned to give the princess a knowing look. "I feel like you might've been thinking of showing off to somebody else."
Charlie flushed with a giggle. She looked to Emily. "Ehhhh... maybe a little." She grabbed the seraphim's hand, before grabbing Vaggie's as well, giving both a little squeeze. "But this is both of yours' first times here. And I want you both to enjoy yourselves as much as you can! Even if we're on a perilous Hell-saving mission."
"You're sweet, babe," Vaggie cooed, nestling a little into her shoulder. "At the end of things, we're all here together... that's good enough for me."
"I wanna go exploring!" Emily cheered with a beam, before stopping to clear her throat and sheepishly add, "But, um, also the together thing, I like the together thing..."
Vaggie snorted in humor. "Atta girl, sweetpea. Love your spunk." Emily blushed. Love? Well, she most certainly didn't mean it like... that... surely... but it still made her heart flutter to hear the words regardless of the meaning.
"Well, how about this, you two," Charlie spoke happily as she got to her feet. "I've got a couple errands I have to run, buttttt, you two can do some exploring of the hotel while I'm out! There's a buffetttttt!" She cheered, as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her wallet, retrieving one of multiple credit cards and handing it to Vaggie.
"I- um, sure I guess... but where are you off to?" the silver-haired angel responded.
Charlie smiled, with a cheeky little wink. "It's a surprise." She leant down and gave both her angels a peck on the head. "I'll see you girls later!" She shouted back as she left out the door, "Be safe! Have fun!"
Emily giggled as the princess left, and Vaggie was smiling but rolled her eyes nonetheless.
"Well, while our very cute but incredibly impulsive and headstrong girlfriend is out doing an unknowable, somewhat suspicious errand she won't disclose to us, wanna go gorge ourselves on a probably unhealthy amount of food, baby?" Vaggie spoke with a dry grin as she flashed the card to her only present partner.
"Yes, please!"
Emily was astonished by the site before her. A couple dozen rows of counters alligned with various cuisines of an array of different cultures and of every different daily meal you could think of, from appetizers to entrées to desserts. It took her a moment before she realized in her absent-minded oggling she had started to drool.
She meeped as she frantically wiped the small trickle away, clearing her throat. "Wowzers..."
Vaggie chuckled. "See something you'd like, baby?"
"Something." Emily gave a wide gesture at the scene ahead. "Somethings... so many things..."
Emily had a knack for making it very impossible for the other angel not to giggle at or with her. "Well, it's a buffet, so we pay ahead of time, but for the time we're allowed in, you can have anything and everything you want. But," Vaggie warned, "Try and pace yourself. You have a habit of, um... eating too much too fast..." Vaggie elected not to sugar-coat it. "We don't want you making yourself sick again. Yes?"
Emily gave a convictioned nod. "Yes, ma'am!"
"Good girl. I'll pay for us real quick, and then we can tear it up," she winked at the angel. However, as one would most likely have expected, Vaggie turned out to not end up doing most of the, 'tearing.'
"Emily. Hun. What did I say?" Vaggie chided, her brows furrowed not angrily but dissapointedly on her face.
"... To not make myself sick again?" the seraph managed to say, sheepishly so, after stifling a hiccup, cradling her stomach with a pained expression on her face.
"And what did you do?"
"... Made myself sick again..." she sighed.
"God, we need to work on your restraint..." Vaggie grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest with a look on her face that was not unlike that of a disappointed mother.
"I didn't mean to! B- but it- I mean, it was just all there, a- and-"
"Emily. Sweetheart. You ate six and a half fucking dishes of food!" the one-eyed angel shouted, "I- I mean, I don't even know how that much can fit in you! You're so tiny!""I... Vaggie, are you mad at me?" the other girl said meekly giving large eyes to the woman like a lost dog that tugged at Vaggie's heartstrings."I- No, Emily, of course not... Just, y'know... worried. Because my girlfriend just ate enough to feed three people and I'm concerned she might explode." As she spoke, a genuinely concerned look held in Vaggie's eyes as they darted up and down at the other... more distended angel.
"People can explode from eating too much!? Vaggie, am I gonna explode!?" Emily panicked. Lurching forward in her seat. Bad idea. "Oh, f- fruitcake..." the angel moaned. Vaggie recognized that look from a year and a half ago when Charlie got food poisoning from underprepared fish, spraying so hard they nearly got a complimentary color change to the wallpaper.
"Shit-" she launched up from her seat and grabbed the angel by the forarem, whom was holding a hand to her mouth as if to stop the coming torrent. "Come with me, Emily, let's get you to that trash can over there..."
No response, just a tight but rapid nod as she slowly hauled herself out of her seat, dashing with Vaggie to the mearest trash can, before tossing her head over the edge and raining Hell. Vaggie quickly gathered the angel's hair and held it back, wincing a little as she emptied herself. "There you go, baby, let it- ewe... let it out."
Feeling the presence of eyes on her and more importantly, Emily, she looked over her shoulder with a militant bark. "What, you never see someone be sick before!? Go gawk at something else before I pluck out those shit staring eyes and shove 'em where the sun don't shine! ¡Cabrónes!" That was all that was needed before people actively avoided making any eye contact with the two angels.
After a bit, Emily finally pulled her head out of the can. She had easily ejected at least four and a half of the past eaten dishes of food, and had a weak and fatigued look on her face, flushed and sweaty. Vaggie cringed, as she reached a hand out to wipe away a still remaining little trickle of something that had decided to rest on the womans lower lip.
"Oof... you okay, sweetheart?" Emily looked like she wasn't focusing on much of anything, nodding at the sound it Vaggie's voice.
"Uh... uhuh..." she swallowed, cringing afterward. "O- ow..."
"Yeah... you probably burnt up your throat a bit..." Vaggie gave a look to her angel that suggested she could feel her pain. "Come on, sweetheart, let's get you back to the room so you can rest..."
"B- but... I didn't even get to the desserts yet..." she mumbled, twiddling her fingers. Vaggie groaned.
"Fine. If I go get you one regular serving size of a SINGLE dessert FOR LATER when you are feeling BETTER, and only when you are feeling better," she spoke, sternly, "Will you come back to our room with me and let me take care of you?"
Emily gage puppy-dog eyes that were semi-understated givin her pale, sweat drenched face and tossled up hair. Vaggie sighed. "C'mon. Tell me whatcha think looks good," she said, leading the girl along by her hand as she smiled happily.
When the two returned to their hotel room, Vaggie made quick work of making sure the seraphim was comfortable in bed, before dabbing away at her forhead with a towel to dry away some of the sweat, and giving her a peck on the forhead. As she lay there, cheek nuzzling a pillow, Vaggie asked, "think you can manage to stomach some water, hun? It might help out with your throat there..."
Emily contemplated. "N- no... probably not yet..." she rasped. Vaggie nodded.
"Okay, sweetie." She looked to the TV on the wall from the bed. "Wanna watch something together while you rest?" Emily smiled.
"Hm... Y- yes please..." she managed to get out. Vaggie gave her a soft smile, before grabbing the TV remote off the media stand just under the screen, and returning to the bed to get under the covers with Emily, the white-haired angel siddling up to her, and nuzzling into her shoulder. Vaggie chuckeld at her, turning the television on, and selecting VoxFlix from the displayed app screen.
"Anything you in the mood for?"
Emily shook her head. "Never really sat down and watched television before... no time..." she tried to make her words as brief as she could to not anger the acidic burns in her throat. Vaggie raised an eyebrow in surprise but decided not to roll into a conversation to spare her angel the pain of having to use her voice.
"Gotcha. I'll put on one of Charlie's comfort movies... I feel like you'll like it too." Vaggie chuckled in fond recollection at memories of watching the animated musical with her sick, hurt, or healing partner over the years, the taller woman latched around her for comfort. And her hunch was correct, as Emily stared in awe as the program started, and moved her head to rest on Vaggie's chest. The two remained cuddled up for the couple of hours the movie lasted, aside from a single temporary intermission as Vaggie went to get a glass of water for her girlfriend's throat, whom gulped it down as if she had just spent a week in the desert. After the movie, and a 10 minute ramble by the seraph about how much she loved the film and wished she had been able to experience things like that when in Heaven -her throat seemingly graciously helped by the elapse of time and the bit of hydration- Emily hopped into the shower, and Vaggie returned to the living space to have a glass of water herself as she waited for her.
While the five-winged angel was still washing, and Vaggie had decided to sit on the couch and mindlessly watch the random reality show that was on the cable at that moment, the missing piece finally threw the door open, singing her return. Vaggie jumped at the sudden interruption of the quiet, before the shock slowly faded into fond surprise at her princess's return.
"I'm baaaaaaack!" she cheered musically. She had a tiny little plastic baggie in one hand, and in the other, a slightly larger plastic baggie. Each one having a different business logo emblazoned upon them. "And I brought some gifts for a couple special angels!" She layed her bags on the coffee table, going over and giving Vaggie a long peck on the head, the angel smirking at her.
"Oh? And what are those?" She quizzed.
Charlie giggled. "You'll have to wait for Emily to find out!"
"Find out what?" The aforementioned seraphim asked, cocking her head as she just left the bathroom, wearing a t-shirt and a pair of Charlie's sweatpants. Charlie giggled once more.
"The special surprises I got for you two!" Emily chuckled.
"Noooo, Charlie, you didn't have to!" She chided, mostly in jest. Charlie shook her head with a pout.
"I did! You needed at least two of these things!" she cleared her throat, looking to the side, sheepishly. "A- and then I felt bad I didn't get Vaggie anythinggg... so I got her a thing... or two... b- but I'm the princess of Hell! This is basically me buying you something from those cute little quarter machines in the mall!" Emily decided not to state she had no idea what those things were, and just smiled.
"Well, that was very sweet of you, hunie," she cooed. Vaggie nodded, smiling sweetly in agreement.
"Thank you. Now, come over here, so you can receive my package!" Charlie said, her cheeks dying red. "Packages! Gifts, my gifts!" Emily was oblivious to the double entendre and sat beside a smirking Vaggie on the couch, an eager look on her face. Charlie cleared her throat.
"First, for Emily, I bought you these! Imma count them as the same thing." She pulled a pair of short, sky-blue sweat-shorts, and a pair of periwinkle sweatpants. "So you don't have to keep borrowing mine! Plus, I made sure the, um," she cleared her throat, "lower body measurements were more... accommodating." Emily took the two pieces of clothing, tags still on.
"Thank you, Charlie. I definitely needed these."
"You are very welcome, Emmy!" Charlie cooed. "Second!" Charlie reached back into her bag. "For Vaggieee... I hope you like these. I saw them both and thought of you..." She pulled out two, small, yellow cardboard boxes, and handed them to Vaggie. Vaggie set one of them on her lap, and opened the first. She parted a thin sheet of yellow tissue paper to find, inside, an elegantly constructed, leather eyepatch, similar in material to the one she was wearing. Except, this one was a rich golden-ish yellow, like raw honey. Painted directly on the leather was in charmingly rough strokes, the amber outline of a heart. Embroidered about it, in a brilliant, shimmering, golden thread was an array of hexagonal patterning like a honey comb. It all came together to create a very beautiful, bee-like aesthetic. Its beautiful arrangement was evidence that it was most assuredly hand made.
"Holy shit..." she mumbled. "Charlie, this is beautiful." Charlie giggled.
"Open the other one!" She encouraged, giddy like a kid on Christmas. Vaggie did just that, gently setting aside her first, gorgeous gift, to find, in the second box, was a beautiful, silk ribbon with a similar golden honey-comb pattern on it. The two different accessories matched together perfectly.
"I- oh, Charlie... I don't know what to say, these are so wonderful... I love you so much," she cooed, giving the princess a warm-eyed look. Charlie chuffed.
"I'll help you put 'em on when we're done." She reached back in the bag. "In a smilier veiiiiiin, Emily, I saw this at the same store I got Vaggie's presents at, and it made me think of you." Charlie pulled out another little box. This one was white, and she handed it to Emily. This gift felt weightier to the angel than the basic necessity of pants to wear to bed. This was something Charlie bought her, not because she needed to, but because she saw it, and it reminded her of the seraphim. It was likely a completely frivolous object but one gotten through thought and earnest care. Her eyes misted as she looked at the box.
"Oh, Charlie..." She choked. She wasn't quite crying yet but she was getting there. "You didn't have to get me this..."
The princess gave her a warm smile, and shrugged. "I know. But I wanted to," she said simply. Emily gave a giggle shuddered by heavy emotions as she finally brought herself to lift the lid off of the box. Inside, on a velvet insert, laid a beautifully crafted choker. It was made of a white dyed leather, with a white lace around the trim. Inserted into the jewelry were various, small, blue gemstones that seemed to be lapiz. Both sides started small, and gradually increasing in size two stones later met in the middle at a large, deep blue centerpiece stone.
Now, Emily was crying.
"Oh... Charlie..." She sniffled, looking at Charlie with wide, teary eyes "Th- thank you... this is... nobody has ever given me something like this before..."
Charlie, who had been standimoved down to be able to wrap her arms around the angel's neck. "You deserve it, Emmy." She pecked her on the cheek, stained lightly with the salt of her tears. "I'm very glad you like it."
"It's so pretty..." Emily responded in affirmation. Charlie stood back up and pecked her on the crown of the head.
"Welp, I still got a couple more things for you too!" She went back over to the larger back and pulled out two different sets of articles: swimwear. "Tah-dah! This one is for youuuu," she said, handing Emily a periwinkle two-piece.
The bra looked to be a bit tight, but not uncomfortably so: it was modest, but sexy, with a bit of a dip in the front to show off more of the space between her breasts. The size was impressively picked given Charlie had to, presumably guess. Emily's brain decided not to explore the implications of such accuracy. The high-rise bottoms were tall enough to show just a small, tasteful portion of midriff while covering her navel. Though the front and back half were semi-seperated, woven together with two blue ribbons, one on either side, tied into bows at their very tops. The weaving appeared it would allow a bit of flesh to be shown on the hip as well. It was cute. A little showy, but Emily had found that to be something she liked. And she enjoyed the fact that her girlfriends like it, too.
Charlie handed a violet colored suit to Vaggie, the one piece. It had a portion of fabric cut out in the gut in the shape of a diamond that would allow the navel to be shown. The butt rose up considerably in the back, and would presumably show off a tasteful bit when worn. The suit opened right at the base of the neck, and would wrap around there tightly. There were no arms on the suit, just arm holes that would show the entirety of the limbs up to the shoulder. It was less frilly in appearance as Emily's, but it was very flattering, and most certainly suited the woman, bought with thought and care.
"Yours should fit just fine, Vaggie! Emmy, I hope I got your size right... but, I realized neither of you packed swimsuits, and I was reaaally hoping we could go check out the pool together! Plus, we've just got to spend some time at the beach when we get to Envy!" The princess rambled eagerly. Emily giggled.
"I think you did a pretty good job guessing! I'll try it on when we're done to see if it fits," she cheered, emotions still in her eye from the thought. Vaggie agreed.
"I'll try mine on just because I know you want me to." She gave Charlie a sly and knowing look. "It's lovely though, Charlie... thank you."
"Of course!" The blonde clapped, giddily. "Now! I've got one more gift for Emily, something else she really really needs! Vaggie, you reminded me this morning." Charlie gave the small, plastic bag in its whole to Emily. "Open it!"
Emily chuckled, doing such, as she reached into the plastic bag and pulled up two packaged good. One, an elegant blue box: it was her own smartphone. Fresh from VoxTech. The other, was a powder blue case to put it in. "Oh... Charlie..."
"I figured you should have one of these, so we can stay in touch! Also, I can give you some of the numbers of the people in the hotel so you can text theeemmmm and callllll, I figured you'd prolly wanna be able to talk to Angel, you two seem to be getting close! Plus, you can get a bunch of cool games and stuff, and-" Charlie froze to a stop as she realized Emily had begun to genuinely weep now. Vaggie was rubbing her upper back. Charlie went to the couch and cleared the space of all the gifts Emily had just received, putting them on the coffee table, and sitting beside her. "Emmy, are you okay? I- It's not too much, is it? D- do you not like the color?"
Emily chuckled through tears. "N- no, Charlie, everything's perfect... all of it... I just- It's... nobody's... given me things before... n- not unprompted... S-... Sera... she'd give me what I asked for, but... she never shopped for me herself, and she never treated me to things... And she always made sure it was something I needed aside from a few special occasions..." She took a shuddery sniffle. "Th- thank you, baby..."
Charlie used a free hand placed on the angel's cheek to pull her head to her lips, allowing her to plant a long, sturdy kiss onto her other cheek. "Well, I like giving gifts... Vaggie can tell you as much." She gave the angel a wink.
"Yup. I've got, like, three boxes full of trinkets," she said with with a sly look.
"Mhm! And now I need to give you three boxes full!" The princess cheered. Emily giggled.
"I- I look forward to it... I... You're so sweet, Charlie..." Emily shuddered out. They were joyful tears. Just very intense ones. Grateful ones.
"Of course, Emmy!" Charlie planted a smattering of additional quick kisses to the angels cheek, managing to draw a large giggle from her. "Now, let's get that choker on you! And you too, Vaggie, I wanna see how these look on you!" She pointed emphatically at the artisanal eye-patch and bow. Vaggie chuckled.
"Sounds good, princess."
Emily wiped some of the wetness off her eyes and cheeks, and grinned ear to ear. "Y- yes ma'am!"
