Batman got close to a church on 56st when he notice the signal on his phone got lost. The fog here was so heavy and dark green that he had no choice but to put his special mask on. He heard White Shadow was about to tell him something else but the phone went silent and Batman couldn't reach to anyone. It was Evan's work to block signals, this signal block was what prevented Batman and White Shadow to find this place fast. All Batman prayed for was not to be late for those three people inside. He got to the huge window with broken mosaic glass of some life story of saints. Inside was dark but his eye caught a glance of lite coming from the hall on the first floor. Batman flew down into the darkness and turned on his night vision glasses on the mask. The church was ransacked and destroyed from the inside. Broken benches and overthrown pictures and even burned down altar all of it was a result of citizens disorder first month of the city's lockdown. Now all those people were asleep in their homes not knowing what was coming for them. Even Batman didn't know the result of intoxication but he was determined to find out it in this ungodly place.

He heard a noice of a movement down the hall and sprinted that way cautiously. There was a room in the end of the hall where Batman could clearly see some studio light and cords. It was a room where the life stream was. Batman moved fast inside the room but there were no people in it but a mess of a broken chairs where they were sleeping as well as broken lights and a computer with a camera. Everything was smashed and destroyed except one studio light laying down on the floor holding on the last source of power from a small generator.

"What happened here? Where are those people?" - Batman looked around fast as a cat waiting for an ambush but nobody jump him or tried to attack.

There was a noise again in the main hall. "Is it somebody in here or it's just an old building or a stray cat. I need my infrared vision." - Batman turned on his special glasses and with it he could see movements through walls. He walked toward the main hall and now he could see something was moving there and it wasn't a cat.

Suddenly a human stopped moving and froze as he was trying to catch Batman's smell or move. Batman froze too and both of them didn't make a move for a minute. Suddenly Batman was thrown on the ground with a angry force he couldn't predict coming. It was in front of him one more human or was he?

Batman jumped quickly but was tossed to the wall by another "thing" which came from the hall running fast. Batman shot his rope and pull himself on a second level where he could take a breath and actually see who he was fighting with.

There were two of them size of a human but they both looked broken as something was hurting them from the inside. They had manor convulsions of their joints and heads. They didn't talk to each other but every time they accidentally touched both of them made deep roaring and tried to run away from source of pain but then they got closer again as they forgot about the pain just second ago they caused to themselves. Batman felt strength and wrath of those creatures his left side would be bruised after that fly to the wall. "Who are they? No way they are those three people from the room!" - he recorded everything he could see with his special lenses but there was no way to send the video to White Shadow the signal was still off.

At the last moment Batman heard a noise behind his back and turned so fast that the third creature didn't have a chance to stop and felt down roaring. Two creatures downstairs got spooked by the sound of a body slamming on the floor but they didn't run. They did the opposite they jumped on the body as it was an enemy and one of them even drugged the body to the wall and smashed it. "I don't understand.. are they able to see or they just attack any sound?". Batman shot some sleeping darts but those didn't work on creatures and they kept running downstairs roaring and hitting each other on accident. Then Batman tried to tide one of them with a bat rope and he managed to secure one's upper body but not legs so the creature kept running and escaped from the main hall somewhere inside the church. The last creature was fast and Batman shot a bat rope on creature's feet and the man felt grasping floor with his crooked hands. Instead of chasing the first "thing" Batman concentrated on the second creature and almost tight his hands when he saw the first one coming from the inside of a dark long hall. Batman recognized a chief of city human services but that man was far away from normal. For a split second Batman froze looking in the white eyes of a man and it was enough for the first guy to hit him with all his body. Yet the arms of that guy were still tight up but the anger and range he pushed Batman away was unheard of. Batman flew back to the main hall several feet away from creatures and smashed a burned altar. The green thick fog and ashes totally covered his vision of the situation when he heard a sound of broken window and roaring of men.

-Batman are you alive? - he heard White Shadow screaming and struggling with somebody inside the hall.

-I'm fine. - Batman tried to stand up and only then realized that the hit was harder then he thought. - Where are you?

White Shadow didn't answer but he recognized moves in the hall and rushed to help.

-One more! He is somewhere inside that guy with legs he is running away! - she screamed

Through the fog Batman finally saw White Shadow sitting on top of a creature. She managed to secure his hands behind his back with the special handcuffs Batman supplied her with.

-Can you get him to the car I need to take down another one.

-Yeh! I think I can manage this guy.

Batman run after the last creature but he seemed vanished. Batman reached out to the back door and saw it wide open, the creature got away into the city.

That day Batman and White Shadow tried to find the last man and drove around as much as they could but to find one sick man in empty Gotham City was as hard as needle in a haystack. They took the body of a first creature who felt from the second level as well as the one alive to the laboratory. Batman hoped that Gordon would do his part as fast as he and his people could. Citizens of Gotham city must be awakened!
