Mack pulled up the rig near Willy's Butte where Lightning was waiting. Mack hopped out of the truck and walked to the rear end of the Trailer. Quickly, the driver hugged the racer. "Good to have you home, kid," said Mack. Lightning patted Mack on the back and thanked him. Mack then began to open the hatch and added, "Oh. congratulations on the engagement!" Lightning chuckled, "Thanks. Only took three tries." he admitted. The door fell opened slowly and Lightning walked inside to see a black tarp over the shape of a race car. "You tell rusty and Dusty thanks?' Asked Lightning. Mack nodded.
Lightning grabbed the tarp and yanked it off the car beautifully. The red race car looked just as it should. Lightning brushed his hand over the roof, right above the driver door where it read the name -Lightning McQueen- Mack then asked, "Is it okay?" Lightning smiled, "She's perfect. Thanks for bringing this over, Mack. I appreciate. I need to get some practice in." He admitted. Mack just smiled, saying, "Awe, it's no problem, Boss. I enjoy the drives anyway." he added, swatting the air. So Lightning got into the car and started her up. The engine purred loudly and smoothly. That deep, throaty, throttle-like roar. It was the most beautiful sound in the world!
Lighting took the car around Willy's butte multiple times. This felt good. Driving the familiar track that Doc had trained him on so many times. Lightning and Doc had spent so many hours n this dirt. Passing each other, drifting around, sometimes Doc would win and sometimes Lightning would. Heck! Sometimes Doc would let Lightning win. Some of the 95 racer's best memories were on this very track. Lightning's eyes teared up as he took the third turn. Turning right to go left, just as Doc had taught him. Oh, how he would give anything to see Doc again.
To speak to Doc and hear Doc's voice again. Doc was like a father to him. He was. Lightning slowed the Bolt down at the imaginary starting line. Stopping the car about an inch before the line. He shut off the engine, closed his eyes, and breathed. In and out, slowly and deeply. A few more times as his memories of Doc danced in his mind. The times they goofed off, times he scolded the racer, times he trained, the times they talked about more important things. Lightning opened his eyes. Staring out at the tall wall ahead. he really hurt sometimes when he thought of Doc, but... In a good way, I guess. Lightning started the Bolt back up. Instead of practicing some more, he drove out to Doc's grave...
He pulled up and shut off the car. Staring at the grave sight. Kind of had to push himself to get out of the car. He did though. he walked up to Doc's grave and sat down in front of it. Staring a moment. Sitting alone. Staring at the name.. Hudson.. Doc Hudson.. The Fabulous Hudson Hornet. "I sure do miss ya Doc." He murmured. Of course, there was no reply. There never would be. It seemed like forever ago now. As if Doc had been gone all along.
Almost as if Doc was just some imaginary figure that Lightning made up and created the best memories with. "The Grand Prix didn't turn out to be anything like what we imagined." He began, "I almost died. And not because of my driving, I drove amazingly. You'd be proud, I think. Sally came along. I... I proposed. Finally. Took a few tries, but I finally got it out. I think I said uh. I think I said will you, uh, marry me. What an idiot. She's never going to forget that either." He paused and stared. Thining about what he should and what he could say to Doc if Doc were still here. His eyes teared up. "You left us too soon Doc..." he whimpered.
His lips quivering. "I need you. I still need you.." He whimpered. Staring at Doc's grave, Lightning began to cry. letting the tears fall. It may have been some time, but he was still grieving. He missed Doc, he loved Doc, and he wanted him back. Lightning let the tears fall for some time then wiped his eyes. Sniffling and wiping the tears from his face. "I better go.. Sally might be wondering where I am soon.. " He stood up and stared at the grave for a moment more. "I'll see you around, Doc.." He added before walking back to the Bolt. As if he would come by for a chat and hang out with the old man again.
Lightning got into the car and pulled out his phone. Wiping a few more tears before bringing up Sally's name and calling. It rang a few times before she answered though.
Hey.
"Hey, you want to go out for dinner tonight?"
Out? Like Flo's? Sure.
"Not Flo's. Let's meet up at Wheel Well. I have to clean the car up and put it away first, but what do you say?
I guess so.
"After hours."
After hours? Why? Lightning, we can't have sex there. It's seriously unsanitary and I don't want the place to be shut down because you-
-"What no! I want it to just be the two of us. I'll cook and clean up."
Oh. well, in that case, yeah. Dinner sounds nice.
"Great. You don't have to dress up or anything. It's casual. I mean unless you want to, of course."
I'll wear something comfortable, thanks.
"Great. I love you so much."
I love you too, babe.
"Alright, I'm gonna go. Finish up and clean up. I'll see you there."
See you there, Stickers...
Lighting smiled as he hung up. He truly loved Sally, but then. BBbbzzzz, BBbzzzz. Miranda. He sighed. Debating whether or not to answer, but he had to...
Sally pulled her car up to the dark, quiet, closed Wheel Well. The bar area closed off when they closed down, so she would have to walk in through the back exit of the bar. Sally shut off the car then got out. Staring at Lightning's Corvette before heading to the back door. She opened it and the smell of whatever Lightning was cooking hit her. It smelt good. Sort of sweet and like.. Fresh bread-like. Sally walked in and quietly closed the door behind her. She saw Lightning in the kitchen next to the bar and asked, "What's for dinner?"
LIghtning glanced her way with a smile. "Steaks and a rice mix with fresh rolls." Sally walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his middle. "Smells great." She complimented. Lightning snickered as he continued to sear the steaks in a skillet. "Hope you don't disturb any of the guests?" Sally sort of asked. Lightning shook his head. Sally walked over to the counter next to him and hopped up onto it. Sitting there and watching him cook. Lightning stirred the rice then positioned himself right in front of Sally and leaned in close to her, "I'm leaving for the season soon." "Yup.." "Earlier than expected." He announced. Sally's expression changed. She looked upset. "What? Why?" she asked. Lightning sighed, "I agreed to do the racing experience for Tex. You should come." "To the experience race? No thanks." "Awe come on. I'd love to have you there. Could cheer me on." He said in a flirtatious way.
Sally giggled. "It's not even a real race. You will just be taking some fan for a joy ride." "OH come on. It's more than that. I get to scare the living shit out of some wannabe racer." Sally laughed then scolded, "That's not nice Lightning McQueen." "I know, but it's true. Rarely do those people ever come back?" "It's because it's expensive!" Sally yipped. Lightning did agree at that. "Please come." He pleaded. Sally sighed. Staring into those big and blue eyes. How could she say no. "Alright. I'll come along to the experience race and your first actual race. But then the town is going to need me here. As long as I'm working, that is..." Hinting a reminder about their conversation earlier.
Lightning smiled and nodded, "Good. I'm glad I convinced you to come." He said proudly, then back he went, hovering over the meal he was cooking them. He shut off all the switches and grabbed a strainer to deal with the rice. Sally watched him finish up the meal. She was in love with him, that was for sure. I mean, look how sweet Lightning was being with her. Asking her to this romantic dinner he was preparing. "We could have done all this at home." She announced. Lightning glanced at her, then back to what he was doing. "Sure, we could have, but I wanted to add a little spice to the night." "Spice, huh? Is that what this is?" Sally giggled. Lightning shrugged. Then Sally asked, "Where should we have the wedding? My Dad wants us to come to California." "Wherever you want is fine. I'm just a side character at the wedding." Lightning joked.
Sally rolled her eyes. "Uh, no. This is our wedding, not mine. I would prefer not Cali. I think the state is cursed for me.." She admitted. Lightning snickered hearing that. Kind of funny to him was all. "How about here?" He suggested. "We both feel this place is special, right? Radiator Springs is home to us. It's where we met." Sally nodded, agreeing then replied, "What about here, here. Wheel well?" Lightning looked at his girl and smiled. "It's small. You want a small wedding?" "Maybe." "I would love to marry you here, Sally. It's the place I fell in love with you." Lightning added. Sally blushed some then asked, "Really? Wheel Well?" Lightning nodded, "Yeah. I'll never forget you bringing me up here for the first time. Hey, when I proposed, did I say uh?" "What?" "Did I ask, Will you, uh, marry me? Did I add an uh in there? Or am I imagining that part?"
Sally giggled before answering, "You added an uh in there." Lightning groaned a bit with disappointment. Sally hopped down and stood next to him as he dished up their plates, she leaned up and kissed the side of his face, saying, "It's alright. I thought it was quite cute." "Cute wasn't was I was going for.." He growled. Sally just laughed at him. Sally grabbed his arm and leaned on his shoulder, asking, "Why are you so perfect." in a satisfying sigh. Lightning glanced down at her and smirked. Kind of made him proud to hear that from his future wife. The two sat down at the server-side of the bar counter and next to each other as they had their dinner and drinks. Laughing and reminiscing on old memories of Wheel Well. Of them, before they got this close.
Some funny and embarrassing moments, meeting each others' families. Sally sipped her drink then said, "Now we have to come up with a when the wedding will be." LIghtning nodded as Sally continued, "Probably after the cup race." Lightning stared at her and asked, "You want to wait that long?" Sally giggled, asking, "You want to get married in the middle of the race season?" LIghtning shrugged, "Why not? I want to marry as soon as possible. I'd marry you right here and now if I could." He admitted. Sally laughed and blushed. "Oh no. There is so much we have to plan, Stickers. Like the guest list, my dress, the cake." "You know I don't like cake.." He griped. Sally raised a brow and gave him a look.
He couldn't help, but smile and reply, "I'll eat cake for you, but never again." Sally rolled her eyes a little bit there. Thinking as she sipped her drink. Lightning took a good gulp of his before suggesting, "We should get married near the end of the season, but not after the cup. I don't want to wait that long." "Well, we'll see. Oh, and I have an idea.." Sally mentioned, "Say... One or two weeks before the actual wedding, I want us to live separately." Lightning's brows lowered. "Why?" He asked in concern. Sally shrugged, answering, "Well.. I think it could make the wedding night a whole lot more fun if we had been kept apart for two weeks straight, you know?" "Oh, you mean because of the sex. Do you want to cut me off for two weeks? But that's deadly. That can have serious consequences." He joked, but in a tone that made it seem like he wasn't joking.
Sally laughed and playfully slapped him over the shoulder, "You will be fine! We've had long dry spells than that." She reminded. Lightning rolled his eyes and grabbed his drink. "Don't remind me." He griped quietly. Sally snickered. Watching him finish his drink then she added, "We don't have to decide anything for now anyway. We have all the time in the world." She assured. Lightning wasn't as sure as she was about that. They almost died! He could have seen her be killed! And he could do nothing about it. He wanted to marry her now. Partly and probably mostly because of that moment alone! Sally rubbed her hand over his back then seeing that they were both finished said, "Come on, I'll help clean up, then we can head home." As she hopped off the barstool and grabbed her plate. Lightning sighed. Watching her clean the plate a moment before getting up and joining her...
The following day went pretty much as usual. Lightning watched Sally leave for work, then he headed out to tune-up and practice for the season. Sally worked at the cone, then Wheel Well then to the courthouse to make sure everything was okay with town services. She decided to call and talk to Jesse while at the courthouse. She wanted to try and talk to Jesse about this abortion idea. Sally was against it. No matter what, life was precious to her. Sally would never have an abortion. And if Lightning ever put his foot down on such a thing, it was an easy choice. She would leave him. That's how firmly she felt about her choice on the subject. Sally grabbed her cell and called her friend.
Hey Baby. How is life?
"Um.. It's good, Jess. How um, how are you doing?"
What do you mean, how am I doing? I'm Jesse Swift, baby. I'm fabulous.
"Ha! Okay. Good. Um.. I, I won't drag it on. Bobby talked to Lightning, Jesse."
Oh. Yeah, I know..
"Okay."
So, Lightning told you than?
".. Yeah..."
...
"Please don't be mad."
I'm not. I mean, I.. Well, I don't know if I was even going to tell you about it.
"So you are? You're pregnant?"
Yeah, but not for long. I'm having an abortion.
"Why?"
Why? Because I don't want a baby. Bobby and I are not ready to be parents. Have you met Bobby?
"Ha..ha.. Yeah.. Jesse, abortion is not the answer here. That baby's life is precious. Did you know his or her heart started beating two weeks after conception?"
That's a myth, Sal. And why do you care so much? It's not your life this affects.
"I know.. I know. I'm sorry... What does Bobby think about all of this?"
He's scattered about it. He agrees that we're not ready to keep a baby though.
"There are other options. There is a lot more than abortion."
I know, we've talked about it all too.
"Even adoption?... You know, Lightning was adopted and he turned out great."
I know, Sally. Stop this. Bobby and I have talked about it all. This is ultimately our decision. If you are my friend, you will support that of me. Otherwise, I'm not sure we're friends at all.
"What? No, I.. I am your friend and I do support you, Jesse.. I just... I don't think abortion is the answer."
It's not your answer. It's my choice though.
"I know, you're.. Right.. I'm.. I'm sorry..."
Don't tell Megan.
"I won't."
Thank you. Now, this is just sad, tell me about Lightning's proposal girl!
"What?"
How did he do it? I saw from the photos it was in Italy. How did he say it?
"Oh, um. So we went out to dinner in Italy to this super romantic and beautiful place, Jess. I mean.. He picked out such an amazing spot with such an amazing view. I've never seen something more hallmark than that! He started by talking about why he asked me to move in with him, how he loves and thinks we should do the next thing, and then he got down on one knee and asked me. His exact words were, Will you uh, marry me. He added an uh. Oh my gosh, he was so adorable."
It sounds so sweet. Not like Bobby and I who just agreed mostly.
"Oh and let me tell you about something scandalous."
OOhhh. I'm listening.
"We did it in the palace."
What? Like... It? The nasty nasty? No, you didn't!
"We did! We snuck into the restroom, which... Now that I say that, it's not that sexy sounding.. It's quite gross."
No, it's not! Tell me all about it. How did you manage to do it in there and not get caught?
"Oh, we got caught technically.."
WHAT!?
"We stepped out of the stall to see three women staring at us near the exit."
OH my gosh! Wow. Not gonna lie, sometimes I wish I were you, Sally.
"No! It was so embarrassing!"
But fun and exciting!
"Yeah, it was. He used his belt to bind my wrist to the handicap bar, Jess."
Oh yes! man.. That man sure knows how to fuck.
"OH, like you would know?" Sally laughed.
Well between his rep and your stories. Seems like most of the great Lightning McQueen stories are true. Or at least credible. You are lucky. Most men are so boring after a while.
"Is Bobby?"
Not really. But, you know, we have our moments. What's it like to be the woman who ties down the immortal fuck of a womanizer? Must feel honoring.
"You are ridiculous, Jesse!"
I am and you are a dirty girl who fucked in the queen's lou with your dirty man.
"STOP! You are horrible to me."
Only because I love you. Seriously! Do you know how many women wish they were you! Traveling the world with the second most handsome man on earth!
"Second?"
Second. Sorry, but Bobby is so much finer than your blue-eyed prince charming.
"Okay.. I'm worried, Jess."
About?
"Well.. Marriage changed people. It changes couples and.. What if Lightning gets bored of me or doesn't like how it changes me?"
That's not gonna happen.
"It can. It can and it happens all of the time. I saw it all the time with my Dad being a Divorce Lawyer."
You are just spazzing out.
"Maybe I should test him."
What? No. Don't do that to that poor man. He can't handle that kind of trap.
"I'm not trapping him. Testing him."
Is there a difference?
"I'm serious! If I change even slightly, will Lightning still want me?"
Yes. I'm starting to think you're getting cold feet.
"I'm thinking about dying my hair."
WHAT! No! Don't you touch that thing of perfection on your head!
"I'm not going to do it, I'm just thinking about it.'
NO! Forbidden! Trust me! You will regret it as soon as you do it! Please, I beg of you, Sally. Don't ruin your hair. It's one of the most noticeable things about you!
"Okay, okay. I was only thinking about it..."
Better not. I mean, that better be as close as you ever get to do it.
"Okay, okay.."
Sigh.. Well, I'm going to throw you an engagement party.
"You don't have to."
I know, I want to. I want to throw one for you and just the girls invited. A girls' thing. For my very BLONDE friend!
"Okay, I get it. you don't want me to dye my hair."
Okay. Good. I'm serious. DO NOT ruin your hair.
"OKAY! Okay, Jesse, okay."...
Lightning came home late that evening. Closing and locking the door behind him. "Sal! I'm home." He announced. He took off his jacket and hung it up on the hooks near the door then turned to see nothing but red-like brown hair! "AAH!" Her hair.. It was a burnt orange, red, brown color. He just couldn't stop staring at it. Sally quickly asked, "Is it that bad?" Lightning shook his head and lied, "You just startled me." So Sally shrugged and asked, "What do you think?" Lightning didn't look exactly thrilled. "You.. Dyed your hair.." He stated the obvious. Sally's brows lowered some. Her very.. Dark.. Orange.. brown.. Brows. Guess it was sort of auburn. It wasn't an ugly color, just.. A huge change! "You don't like it?" She asked softly. Lightning shook his head, answering, "No, that's not what I said. You always look amazing, but... It's.." "Auburn." "Auburn, huh?.." He repeated as he stared.
Questioning this decision she made. Lightning chuckled and joked "People are going to see you with me and think I'm having an affair." Sally's heart sunk and her eyes teared up. She began to cry. Lightning felt so bad! "No, no, no. Don't cry!" He shouted then ran up and hugged her. Kissing the top of her now.. Not blonde hair. "I like it. It's cute." He then sniffed her hair loudly. "And it smells really good." Okay, that part, he meant. She suddenly smelled different, but it smelled extremely good. Kind of perfumey and fruity at the same time. "Wow, really. That smells good." Sally tried not to laugh at him as she pulled away and wiped her eyes. Lightning took her hands in his and assured her that "I love you and you look good, Sally. It's not bad at all. Just.. Different. So different. You've always been such a light blonde and now it's.. It's.." "Auburn." "Auburn.. Sure." He agreed unsurely.
It was a dark auburn. The top was lighter than the ends of her hair and roots for some reason. It didn't look bad, just.. It a little splotchy and different. Lightning stepped back to take a better look and crossed his arms as he asked, "So why exactly did you do this?.." Questioning her sanity here. Sally shrugged, "I am tired of being the plain and boring, work, work, work Sally that everyone knows." Lightning nodded. Biting his lip as he stared at her hair. And not biting it in a good way that made him look sexy. More like biting it to hold his tongue from saying anything sarcastic about it.
Sally frowned with a sigh, "You hate it..." She whimpered. Lightning disagreed. "No, no. I never said that. It's just different. I like it! I do." "Chrysler, you are such a good liar." "I'm not lying!" Lightning corrected with a chuckle. Sally only snapped with, "Then why are you laughing!?" Lightning shrugged, "I don't know, I'm not really. You're just being funny. You know I like it." "God you are such a jerk." She growled then walked away. Lightning chuckled. Not meaning to, but the way Sally was taking his reactions was funny. "Sal. Sally! Sal, I like it! I really do!" He called as he chased after her...
The following morning, the couple went out to Flo's for breakfast. Everyone stared at the couple as they walked in. Mostly staring at Sally because of her hair. Flo gasped a bit and had to ask. "What did you do?" Sally walked up to the bar counter before answering, "I wanted to try something different." "well, it's different." Flo giggled. Sally glared. Lightning walked up next to his girl and said, "Well I think she pulls it off stunningly." Sally raised a brow. "Stunningly?" Lightning shrugged and explained, "I finally thought of another word that's not beautiful." He smiled proudly like. Sally rolled her eyes. Flo sighed then asked, "Can I sit ya'll at a table?" Sally answering, "Yes, that would be nice, Flo." So Flo guided the couple to a corner where they ordered their usual breakfast and coffee.
Everyone was staring at Sally and her hair. It made her feel weird and her face red. She even put her hand over the side of her face, as if blocking the looks out would help. Lightning began to scold, "Would you stop? You look good." "Everyone is staring at me..." "Well, yeah. You can't dye your hair and expect no one to notice." He then reached across the table and pulled her hand away from her face while giving her a warning look. Sally sighed. She felt weird with all the eyes just staring at her. She especially noticed when two certain eyes stared and even began to walk over. Sally whined and muttered, "Don't look now.. The evil twins are coming over here..." "What?" Lightning asked with a chuckle. But, before Sally could answer, Mia and Tia walked up to the table.
Wearing tight white shirts and flared leggings. Mia began, "You look nice, Lightning." Tia adding, "Really nice." Lighting stared at them with confusion. "What?" He asked. Sally glared at him. Tia sighed, "Some people were just talking about your engagement and we wanted to come and congratulate you personally." Mia nodded, "Yeah, it's like, totally sweet that you love someone that much." LIghtning smirked and replied, "Well, thanks, ladies. That's nice of the two of you." "Oh, of course, Lightning." Replied Mia. Tia shrugged then played with her hair, saying "I'll bet you will look amazing in your suit." Mia with, "You know, we could help with anything you need." Tia again, "Make sure you don't get cold feet." Then Mia, "Calm your nerves for you when you do." Back with Tia, "And for free!" "Only for you though." Added Mia. Both girls smiled all cute-like. Lightning nodded but explained that "Thanks ladies, but.. I think We have it all covered." Tia rested her hand on Lightning's shoulder and seductively said, "You still call us if you ever are in need." Mia then with, "Doesn't matter what time of day." "Or night." Added Tia.
Lightning stared a moment. Sally sighed with an eye roll then snapped, "They just want to sleep with you again, Lightning." The girls turned bright red. "This is what girls like them do. Try to test you and tear apart relationships because it's fun for them." Sally griped. Mia and Tia's jaws dropped! Lightning turned a bit red and looked up at the twins with a disgusted and yet pale and red and embarrassed face at the same time. "I.. Uh.. She.." Lightning stuttered. Sally glared at him. Directly at him. Staring into his soul. He knew she was. Her glare made him nervous and he was pretty sure he knew it. Mia placed her hand over the top of her breast and said "How dare you to assume that, Sally." "Yeah! We can't help that you think things like that!" snapped Tia!
Lightning stepped in with, "Doesn't matter. Ladies, no matter what your intentions are.. I'm getting married because I love the woman I'm going to marry Sally and she is the only one for me. She's too much for me if I'm being honest. She tires me out completely, so.. I'm afraid, as long as I'm with her, I don't have time for you two. And don't you two worry about me getting cold feet. Once I'm in, I'm in." He paused and smiled at Sally before assuring, "And I'm all in." That did change Sally's mood a little. Mia and Tia seemed disappointed. Walking away, all mopey like. Sally snickered and said, "You did not have to say those things." "It's all true though." He admitted. Sally wasn't so sure of that, but just nodded and smiled at him. Staring at her and that auburn, red, brown hair.
It came to his mind and he had to ask, "Hey, Sal?.." Grabbing her attention with his tone. "Um.. Don't be offended, but.. I'm just curious. Did you dye your hair that color to look like someone else?" Sally shook her head before answering, "No. I told you why I dyed it. I am tired of everyone seeing me and the boring and predictable, Sally Carrera." "McQueen." "What?" "McQueen. You can't be the predictable Sally Carrera, you'll be the not boring at all, very UN-predictable, Sally McQueen." He corrected. Sally felt her heart heat up with passion. That was so adorable of him. Correcting her of her soon-to-be last name. "Careful there, Stickers. We're not married yet." Sally reminded. Lightning nodded, but after she said it, it kind of felt strange. Didn't she want to get married?
They ate and chatted about some wedding details as they did. Sally with, "I love that we chose Wheel Well. It is going to be so beautiful." "A little cold at the end of the season though." Lightning griped. Sally sighed, "Yeah, but.. I want to be able to go on a honeymoon with you." "The Grand Prix wasn't enough for one year?" Lightning joked. Sally raised a brow and Lightning Apologized. "Chocolate or vanilla?" Asked Sally. Lightning didn't seem to get it, so Sally further explained. "Cake flavor. Oh, what about strawberry shortcake?" "I don't care. Preferably, not chocolate, but whatever you want. I'm only going to eat what I have to for any photos you want." "Why do you hate cake?" Sally asked with a giggle.
Lightning shrugged, answering, "I don't know. Always have. And I wouldn't say that I hate it, I just strongly dislike it." "Why? What about as a kid? No kid hates cake." " I did. It feels weird in my mouth and chocolate tastes like dirt to me. Yuck.." He griped. Sally giggled. Such a weird quirk to have. Sally sipped her coffee then asked, "Is Bobby throwing you some crazy bachelor party? I have to ask because, well.. It's Bobby.." Lightning sighed. "I don't know. I don't want crazy anyway. That sounds exhausting." He admitted. Sally giggled again. "Man, you are getting old. The great, Lightning McQueen thinks a party sounds exhausting?" She teased. Lightning glared and scolded. "Don't call me that. We aren't old yet. You might be, but I'm not." Sally's jaw dropped, she slightly smiled still though. "Take it back!" She shouted playfully!
Lightning shook his head and teased, "Maybe I'll start introducing you as my old lady." "You had better not Mister." "I mean it's true. You are older than me." "Not that much older! And if you're going to play that card, then start listening to me more. You know, since I'm older and wiser." "I don't know if I'd add wiser in there." He teased. Sally could not believe him! She shook her head with a smile. Lightning only smirked, "You love me." "And you're lucky I do." Sally joked. Lightning smiled. Gazing at his woman. He just loved her so much. Sally sighed and continued, "You better behave. Regardless of whatever you do." "I will, Sally. Relax." "You have to invite Nathan to whatever you do too." Her brother. "Sure, I don't see a problem with that. You should invite my sisters to your bachelorette party than." Lightning suggested.
Sally snickered as if she thought he was joking. Lightning raised a brow and asked, "Why is that funny?" "Because you have way too many sisters." She answered. Lightning glared and corrected. "Two. I have two sisters. The others are dead." Sally stared at him. She kind of felt bad and weird that he just came out with saying that about the other two. She cleared her throat and sipped her coffee before replying, "Yeah, okay. I'm sure they will have.. Fun.."...
