As James Potter made his way back to the Gryffindor common room, looking every bit the part of a drowned rat. His usually unruly hair was plastered to his forehead, dripping with water that also soaked his robes thoroughly, making squelching sounds with every step he took. The corridors were empty, the students having retired to their common rooms for the night, leaving James to his soggy solitude.
He pushed open the portrait of the Fat Lady, mumbling the password under his breath, and stumbled into the warmth of the common room. The few students still up looked up in surprise at his appearance before chuckling among themselves.
"Who did this?" James grumbled, annoyance clear in his voice as he collapsed onto the nearest couch, sending a small spray of water around him. He reached inside his robe, pulling out a piece of parchment that was miraculously still dry, unfolding it with fingers that were numb from the cold. It was a letter, penned in a handwriting he knew too well—one that had lured him to the second floor's girl's bathroom under the pretense of a meeting requested by Lily.
"I went there and Lily wasn't there! Only a rigged bucket full of water!" He raved as Lily took the Letter and realized one thing.
She pointed out "This isn't my hand writing James. It's Too dainty I don't write like this." She said before pulling out an essay she wrote, it more broader and the letters were chaotic is size.
The letter had been a ruse, a cleverly crafted deception that he had walked into blind. It was clear now that Lily had no hand in this; this was the work of someone else, someone with a penchant for mischief that matched his own. James couldn't help but let out a begrudging laugh, admiring the ingenuity even as he sat shivering.
His friends, upon realizing the prank that had befallen their mate, roared with laughter. "Looks like someone finally got the jump on you, James," chuckled Sirius, clapping him on the back, only to retract his hand quickly at the cold wetness.
James scowled, attempting to wring out the hem of his robe. "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up," he retorted, though his heart wasn't in the rebuke. Truth be told, he was already plotting his revenge, turning over in his mind who among his peers had the wit and the skill to pull off such a prank and considering how he might return the favor twice as elaborately.
But as the laughter died down and the common room settled back into its nighttime rhythm, James's thoughts drifted from pranks and schemes to the mysterious author of the letter.
Yet Lily looked guilty as she knew whose hand writing it actually was.
Regulus was tutoring Julia on tranfigurstion, meanwhile she was drawing a excellent portrait of regulus. "Are you listening?" She nodded without interest. "Come on, your brother asked me to tutor you." She looked sighed and sat back up. "Now focus and remember the formula." She wave her wand and the match stick turned into metal. "See we're getting somewhere." Regulus with some excitement.
She cheered. "Finally we can stop!" She stood up but he caught her robes and sat her down. "Oh come on! Who needs transfiguration?" She irritated.
Regulus sighed. "What happened? Cassius said you got detention." She blushed heavily.
**Monday**
Julia was the first in class because Cassius pulled her out of bed and pushed into class, the first thing she noticed a tabby cat and pet it. "You're adorable." and then she picked the cat up and sat at her desk and there the rest of the class arrived and Julia didn't let go of the cat.
Only after the class ended did Jully let go of the cat who transformed into the strict yet transfiguration professor. "Um I-"
"We will not speak of this and you will receive a days detention."
**Current**
She muttered to herself, "It's not my fault that she's such an adorable cat." Regulus burst out laughing, finding the story too good to be true, but also typical of Julia.
He got up and said, "I need to meet my friends. We'll continue this on the weekend."
Julia was thrilled that they wouldn't be doing more homework and went off to find Sev, but was caught by Lily. "I took Lucile's tart but, oh hey Lily," she said with a sly smile.
Lily chose to ignore the tart stealing and asked, "Did you prank James Potter with a bucket?"
Julia looked away and replied, "He's a ponce." Lily was getting annoyed and sighed, "Don't worry, my next target's a worse ponce." There was only one other suspect
she asked, "What are you going to do to Sirius?"
Julia giggled and replied, "I'm not spoiling!" She then ran back into the Slytherin dungeon and Lily got lost trying to find the common room.
She was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated as she searched for Julia. So she decided to go to Severus, he was tutoring someone, and she patiently waited for them to finish. After the tutoring session was over, Sev got paid, and Lily took a deep breath before speaking up. "Severus, can I talk to you for a moment?" she asked, trying her best to hide her irritation.
Severus could tell that something was bothering her. "Of course, Lily. What's wrong?" he asked, looking at her with concern.
Lily sat down, and then sighed. "Julia is pranking the Marauders, and I wanted to stop her, but the dungeons are so confusing!" she explained, feeling exasperated.
Severus listened carefully and nodded, knowing how much Lily cared about keeping things in order. "I understand how you feel, Lily. But I have to tell you something. Julia actually asked for my help with the pranks," he confessed, pocketing the sickles.
Lily gave him a stern look, but she was willing to hear him out. "What do you mean?" she asked.
Severus explained, "I refused to help her, but I suggested that she looks into Hexes and Jinxes for parties instead. I didn't want her to get into any serious trouble."
Lily raised her hands in frustration. "Fine, let her do what she wants. At least she's not causing any real harm. I'm staying out of it," she said, feeling a mix of relief and resignation.
Imagine walking down the Hogwarts hallway and suddenly hearing someone stomping their way to the Great Hall. That's exactly what James, Remus, and Peter experienced the next day when Sirius showed up with fury in his eyes.
Curious as ever, James jokingly asked, "Siri, what got you in a tiff?" Meanwhile, Remus tried to hold back his laughter and pleaded, "Come on, Siri, we're your friends." But Sirius was in no mood for jokes.
"I'm going to strangle whoever did this," he spoke in a high-pitched, feminine voice, which was altered by a certain gift. Remus couldn't help but smirk with a told-you-so sing-song tone. "It was weird that someone would send you a perfume called Siri," he said. James and Peter burst out laughing, but Sirius just glared at Remus.
After classes, Sirius lost points and then headed straight to the bathroom. He bathed and washed his mouth, doing everything to scrub the perfume off. It was a tough day for Sirius, but at least his friends were there to lighten the mood.
in the evening
Julia was outside the castle. "Come out wherever you are, the hedge witch is here." She her wand glowing, while looking through the tall grass near the forbidden forest. Then she felt the foot steps coming toward and turned to see Hagrid and both stared at each other. "Aren't you a handsome fellow?" Said with the sweetest tone.
Hagrid chuckled "What were Yeh doing outside at this time?" Hagrid asked making the girl a cup of tea.
Julia answered after taking a sip of tea. "Looking for hedgehogs."
"I think the meadows east has a lot o' hedgehogs, shy creatures they are, don't like people. Why are yeh looking anyway? Most girls yeh age try looking for Unicorns and fairys"
Julia answered. "I like simple things better and plus they're overrated." Hagrid laughed, first time hearing that.
He cleared his throat. "If you like hedgehog ever heard of a Knarl?" She tilted her head. "Yeh will love this." He led her to a drawer where a nest was made for bunch of hairless new born Knarl.
She stared with wide eyes. "They're so cute." She whispered controlling her voice.
"Temperamental little buggers, their mother was looking to eat the runts and I decided adopt them." Julia only nodded but was hypnotized by the hairless creatures. "You can feed them if you like, curfew is in a hour." She hugged and Hagrid just smiled.
As the weeks passed by, everything remained relatively uneventful, except for one moment that would soon have serious repercussions. It all started with a sudden cry of "ouch!" that echoed through the second floor girls' bathroom, where Severus was found rubbing his back in pain. Julia was quick to come to his aid, applying salve to his injured area after he had been thrown into a wall.
As she finished treating him, Julia couldn't help but worry about the potential fallout. "Cassius will find out," she said with a sense of foreboding.
Severus, too, was concerned. "And why were you in Gryffindor tower?" he asked, puzzled.
Julia held back a mischievous smirk. "Oh, just a little experiment," she teased. "I might have jinxed a certain buck-toothed fool's socks and shoes. The socks will stick, and the shoes will weigh a few extra pounds every third step."
Severus chuckled, impressed by Julia's cleverness. "But how did you manage to do it?" he asked, eager to hear more.
"I got the password from Cassius, after convincing him." That was a Lie she used her puppy look and he caved in. "Sneaked in wearing my casual clothes and prepared two pranks in one day." Severus raised a brow.
"Wait, two?" She chuckled.
"I made a potion that makes you do everything opposite." Sev's eyes widen. "I added to a glass of water." She said with mischief written all over his face.
Sev chuckled. "How did you get the ingredients?" She smirked.
"All the ingredients I got from the meadows around Hogwarts and Hagrid. Took me a while get everything together. Tears of joy, the bottom of a tongue, ingrown and hair from a magical creature." Sev shacked his head.
"Looks like another potions master in the family." Julia looked like she had deflated a bit.
She swallowed. "Sev I want to become a healer." He was shocked but laughed.
"Then we better start getting that Transfiguration score up." Julia smiled and Hugged.
"You're not disappointed?"
Sev sighed. "No Jully, you could do nothing to disappoint me."
She smirked. "What if I married into the black family?" He burst out laughing.
A new voice joined in. "You're paying the bills for st mungo's, after the heart attack we will have." Julia turned to Cassius smirking.
She looked worried "You heard?" He shrugged.
"I heard, this and that but I don't think anyone will be worried about some Imaginary opposite potion, plus a future healer will need to know potions." He joked. "Now get to bed, I think the marauders already got enough punishment." Sev looked confused.
"Everybone in Peter's feet were broken and He will be spending the night in the hospital wing, I had to carry the git there after removing his shoes." Julia gulped a hint of guilt flushing her cheeks. "A night's stay and Skele-grow will fix it up." He said showing little sympathy the rat of the marauders.
When the school year ended the four Marauders were all wearing tattered clothes because a knarl had gotten into their room. Who was now sitting in her pockets Eating chicken pieces.
Julia looked at her home after a car ride by the Evans. "Huh." She said looking at the house she was raised in blinking a few times processing it, after dinner she laid down and the dream was odd as she saw Severus Brewing a potion for someone who looked like James' mom. Cassius sat in front of a cell, holding a white yew wand.
"It wasn't a dream Jully." She let out a relieved sigh. "I had the same fear too." Sev said with a smile.
Julia got dressed and got the Knarl she brought from Hogwarts. "You're going to be Wilbert's empress." She said with a smile.
Empress Mabel would destroy many Gardens in her reign but she and Wilbert would spent many winters together.
Authors note: I might make a timeskip to Severus fifth year and the marauders use levicorpus on Severus and Finally Severus cuts ties with Lily because of single smile at his humiliation for a brief second, enough cause the Schism between them. Or develope the relationships between Julia, Severus and Lily for the next two chapters before the breaking of bonds.
