A/N: So, I said in my other fanfic that I would write all chapters of this and then post one every Sunday... but honestly? Scratch that. What I'll do is, whenever I'm free, I'll work on the chapters of this one since this will be a story that I won't make so much deal of updating often.

Also this is one of my favorite couples in Stay Night, only second to Sakura and Shirou, and I hope I can make them justice. So let's start this show already! The following story happens after 10 years of the true ending in the Unlimited Blade Works Route.

For a magus, there wasn't a day when their lives weren't at risk. That was the price for unraveling the world's greatest mysteries and trying to replicate them. Aiming to get to the Root. And the greater their influence, the greater the challenges and complications they encounter on the way. So imagine what the days are like in the life of Rin Tohsaka, a prestigious magus who now faces the biggest dilemma of her life.

A certain matter was eating her up inside. She felt almost in the same situation as when she saved Shinji Matou from that pile of flesh and curses that was supposed to be the Greater Grail. But ten times worse. Because her problems now didn't involve anything physical. So she couldn't ask a servant to blast away with a magic sword.

No. This was much more complicated than that. And the stress was piling up pretty quickly. Rin almost lost her nail from biting her thumb so much. Would it be the right time to start something this big? She did not doubt that she would achieve her goal one way or another. What worried her was something else.

In this case, someone. The main concern was with that person's reaction. What was so stupid! She was Rin Tohsaka! Heiress of the Tohsaka family! One of the survivors of the Fifth Holy Grail War! The one who has faced servants head-on! What the hell did she have in her head to be afraid of her fiancé's reaction?!

Their relationship was stable, healthy, and everything she could hope for. Nothing would change that! Much less this! But... what if things changed? After all, the two weren't always together. Besides, these would be difficult months for Rin. Of course, she had her husband, several friends, and contacts who would help protect them both, but they might need to cut contact with several people and move away. To ensure their safety.

How frustrating! And she thought she had already resolved all her doubts while talking with Sakura on the phone. It was still possible to remember her younger sister's resolute and determined voice. "You need to tell him, sister! He deserves to know!" After they dismantled the Greater Grail, Rin got rid of Zouken with great effort. And Sakura had the chance to live a new life.

Since that moment, the violet-haired girl, who nowadays was a grown woman, became more confident and assertive in her words. Different from that fragile flower she was during high school. "I know, I know! It's just... this is something new to me. Not to mention, I'm almost thirty. And our life finally stabilized. We managed to get married. And now everything is going to change."

"Sister, things change. I accepted this myself a long time ago. I know you like to have everything well planned, but how many times have you not had a plan, and everything worked out in the end?" Funny how Sakura was right. Whenever Rin tries to control the variables of fate, it seems that she suffers a consequence so she may wake up to reality. To realize that she can't control everything. Things happen. And that's fine. "Anyway, either you tell him, or I will."

"What?! Wait a minute, Sakura, you can't do that! It's blackmail!"

"I prefer to call it encouragement where you may lose something, and I don't."

"That's what blackmail is!"

"Hehe, maybe. But I'm serious, tell him, or I will." Rin clenched her teeth, preparing to hang up. After all, he was now under threat. Which left her without much choice. However, the voice on the other end spoke again. "Rin… you two love each other, don't you?"

"Of course we do!" There was no hesitation in her voice. There was only all the certainty in the world. And although she couldn't see it, Rin almost felt that Sakura was smiling at that answer.

"Then you don't need to think about anything else." It was strange when thinking that Rin was the older sister and, somehow, it was the younger one who managed to be the more mature on this subject. This gave peace to the heart of the Tohsaka heiress, who finally got to relax. "Seriously, tell him, or I will. Last warning." And that's when the call ended.

It has been eleven minutes since then. And all the courage gained from that call had shattered into little pieces. Her foot tapped on the floor non-stop. With her heart beating as if she were in a race, she had never felt so nervous to talk to her husband. The cruel wait she faced until he arrived almost drove her crazy.

But Rin couldn't turn away now. If she didn't tell him, Sakura would. That alone would greatly hurt the jewel magus' pride. Maybe she should look in the mirror and practice her speech? Or wait for him to arrive and start with a casual topic? What could they talk about?

Well, they could start by talking about cooking. Or maybe about his work as an employee of Luvia. Oh yeah, there was still that. The woman lets a frustrated sigh escape, and anger comes when she remembers how much Luvia insists on being physical with Rin's husband at any opportunity.

And there was that detail as well, their job. Obviously, Rin wouldn't be able to work, so her husband would need to step up. Fortunately, she knew he was saving enough to stop working for Luvia and become financially comfortable to get another job. Although, she didn't know how the plan was progressing. This was something that the Tohsaka heiress could have done herself, if she didn't need to spend so much in jewelry.

Should she sell her house in Fuyuki? It was just a matter of removing everything that involved magecraft and moving it to her husband's residence. Sounds like a good plan. Even though she would need to send someone to clean the whole house, it has been there in years since someone lived there. Not even when Rin returned to Fuyuki did she go there, as she knew it would be full of dust and cobwebs.

In the end, one thing is clear. Their lives would change drastically because of this.

Soon, she was taken out of her reverie by the sound of the door opening. A man with short auburn hair and golden-brown colored eyes entered the apartment. He was much taller than the woman, and his shoulders and torso had become broader since he started training in his spare time. That was Rin Tohsaka's husband, Shirou Emiya.

A true blessing that appeared in her life. He made her feel loved and, together with her sister, was the reason Rin tried so hard every day. Because she wanted to give them both the best. To protect them. Although sometimes they were the ones who protected her. "Oh, Tohsaka, are you awake?" The woman frowned and looked at the clock, noticing it was half past five in the afternoon. The reason her husband was so surprised because Rin usually slept from four to seven to recover some sleep in her busy schedule.

"Yeah… well, I couldn't sleep, you know?" Rin hoped Shirou hadn't noticed her mood, still wanting a more casual approach before telling him. However, if there was one thing that Shirou Emiya learned in these years, it was to read the room. Then he sat down next to her, a firm hand resting on her back.

"Is everything alright? You can tell me if you want." And Rin immediately fell onto his lap, resting her head on his thigh. The man was confused yet said nothing of it, only stroking his wife's hair, as he always did. "I see. You want to be spoiled, don't you?"

"Hey, I'm not a child who needs to be spoiled!" She replied, huffing and looking down, slightly upset. Until she got more comfortable and closed her eyes. "But yeah… I think I want to be spoiled just a little."

"Okay, then I'll spoil you as much as you want." His fingers roamed through the black hair of the woman he loved. Despite having robust hands with some calluses, his gentle touch was obvious. These were the hands of one who thought he would never hold anything. And in the end, he felt new sensations throughout his life instead of the cold grip of a sword.

It made him wonder if he deserved such happiness. However, before he got too deep into his thoughts, Shirou remembered Saber, the Holy Grail War and everything Rin and he had been through. As well the battle against Archer. There was no doubt. He deserved this happiness. And he needed to give his wife the best.

That's why he had news that, at least in his mind, would cheer her up. "You know, today I gave my resignation letter to Luvia."

"Really?!" Rin asked, quickly standing up and looking at him in pure shock. Although, also tried to hide some happiness at not having to share her husband with her rival. "B-but why?!"

The redhead smiled, placing his hand on the brunette's face. "I thought I needed to start thinking more about my future. Furthermore…" And his other hand reached to his wife's belly. "...I need to have a real job if I want to provide everything our baby deserves."

"Eh? EEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH?!" The jewel magus was baffled by those words, her eyes wide. "H-h-how do you know that?! Did Sakura tell you?!" Could it be? After all, her younger sister is unaware of Shirou's schedule and when he usually comes home.

However, the man's laugh put Rin's doubts at ease. As well as his response. "Now, did you forget who took care of Taiga when she had her baby? I ended up noticing the signs showing up two weeks ago."

"Two weeks?!" Once again, she was shocked. Rin hadn't realized she was pregnant until the test a week ago. "B-but… aahhh!" Her frustration was overwhemling, starting to throw punches at Shirou's chest. "You idiot! I wanted to be the one to tell you! I've been working up the courage to do so now!"

"Ah, that's why you didn't take your nap?"

"I don't take naps!" The man just laughed, practically feeling nothing more than a small massage from those punches. Until she stops and puts her face against his chest. "Okay, maybe I'll take naps." The woman sighed, sitting down and looking dejected at having lost to her husband. "How did Luvia react?"

"Well... she reacted well, I guess... almost like Taiga when I told her we were going to London for the first time."

"In other words, she latched onto you like a leech and only let you go when her butler took her away." Shirou nodded, still laughing awkwardly, remembering that scene. It was quite a show for the people around. "Well… now what?"

"What do you mean?"

"What do you mean, what do I mean?! This will turn our lives upside down! Not to mention the money! I thought about selling my house in Fuyuki, but you also need to get a job! And every new heir of great families is always the target of rivals and envious people! Who wants to end the bloodlines! We also need to get clothes for the baby, decide on the name, discuss whether we want to know the baby's gender before the birth, and...!

"Tohsaka."

His calm, gentle voice cut through her worries. As if an arrow had passed through her barriers and hit her heart. With her husband's strong arms hugging her, feeling protected in the embrace and the warmth he provided. And he only started talking when his wife returned the hug.

"It's good that you've already thought about all this. But you can't panic. I know everything will end well. Just believe. I will be with you every step of the way." And then they separated, with Shirou looking deep into the blue eyes of the girl who changed his life forever. "I'll look after you as you did with me." That smile. It's the same as any other time, but now it reminded her of a certain cocky white-haired archer.

"Look after me." That's what he said moments before disappearing. And this memory alone caused a tear to run down Rin's eye. What might have scared Shirou, thinking it was his fault.

"Oh, sorry! Are you okay, Tohsaka?! Did I squeeze you too hard?!"

"N-no! I just… got a little emotional, I guess." She wiped her tears and smiled at her husband, cupping his face and kissing him. The two embraced for a brief moment until they separated and looked at each other. "Alright, I'll be in your care, Emiya."

"Sheeerrouu...!" A voice cried from the other side of the door, startling the couple, "Sheeerou! Please come back to the mansion! I'll pay double if I need to! Even triple!" It was Luvia, without a doubt. Rin bit her lower lip in pure anger, already getting up to resolve the situation. But Shirou placed a hand on her shoulder and gently made her sit down. Kissing her on the cheek.

"Let me talk to her." Considering he was Luvia's employee, he owed that much. The redhead went to the door and opened it, revealing the Edelfelt heiress with tears in her eyes and jumping to hug him, but Shirou stopped her midway. "Luvia, I'm sorry I left so suddenly, but I won't be able to continue working for you."

"But why?! Was it something I did? Is the work being too heavy? Or was it Miss Tohsaka who forced you?" Asked the blonde, looking deadly at the brunette, who just gave a smug smile back. This felt like she had won a battle that had been going on for years.

"It's not that. It's just that I need to push myself further and get my own job. Not by any favor from a friend, but because I deserve it. That's the kind of father I want to be to my baby with Tohsaka." As soon as she heard that, Luvia looked at Shirou. Then, at Rin. Then, at Shirou. And at Rin again. She repeated this a few times before rolling her eyes and falling back. "Oh my God! Luvia!"

"Pfft... serves you right." Rin couldn't help but laugh at the situation while the redhead helped the young woman, trying to get her to regain consciousness. These would be some busy and exciting nine months for the couple. However, she felt more relieved now after talking to her husband.

Who would have thought that on the day of his child's birth, Shirou would know what Rin felt back then? The anxiety, the fear. All he didn't feel in nine months was catching up in full strength. It's ridiculous how facing Berserk was less scary than this. He was waiting in the corridor of a hospital recommended by Lord El-Melloi II, just waiting for the nurse to come and tell him how the birth went.

In his hand was the pendant that his wife used to revive him the night he died at Lancer's hands. It was something important to him. A symbol of good luck. And he hoped it would make everything work out. Holding the pendant against his forehead, practically praying to every kind of God in existence.

And that's when the nurse arrived, with Shirou getting up at the same moment. His heart was beating so fast, even faster than in any battle he faced up until now. "Is Tohsaka okay?! And the baby?!"

"Sir, please calm down." The nurse asked with a sweet and friendly tone. "Come see for yourself."

Shirou raised his eyebrow and walked alongside the nurse, passing through the hallway and entering the room where Rin was lying on the bed. With some wrapped in blankets in her arms. The way she looked at it and smiled was enough for the redhead.

With each step, Shirou's mind was filled with the words that defined him and more versions of himself in multiple lives and worlds. Only with a few differences.

I am the bone of my sword.

The light on them both gave the impression this was the birth of some angel, with the mother bearing that same divine radiance.

Steel is my body and fire is my blood.

The couple looked at each other, sharing a smile of relief and accomplishment, as if they had won the most difficult battle of their lives.

I have created over a thousand blades.

"What will her name be?" Shirou asked, sitting on the side of the bed while Rin ran her hand over the face of the newborn. Whose hair was just like her father's.

Unaware of loss,

"I thought of Aoi, after my mother."

Nor aware of gain.

"Aoi Emiya? Sounds good." Rin rolled her eyes with a smirk at the man's comment.

Withstood pain to create many weapons, and I would throw everything away for you.

"Do you want to hold her?" Shirou nodded and took the baby in his arms. She was as light as a feather, lighter than any sword he had ever wielded. Or ever will.

You are my blessing. My reason to continue.

At that moment, the child opened her blue eyes, just like her mother's, and looked at his father for the first time. She gave her first smile, bringing tears to Shirou's eyes, who hugged her.

To protect you, my blue sky, I wield Unlimited Blade Works.

A/N: That's about it for the chapter! Honestly I don't think this is the best chapter I've ever done, but I like what I did here. And I wanted to make more of a prologue before going into more detail about this child, and also to train a bit on writing Rin and Shirou before going into the concept of them as parents.
