Kenobi did not sleep well, though he expected that to be the case. For the majority of the trip he just laid in a sort of trance between sleep and reality, between feeling the throb of his wounds and the numb sensation of being almost separate from himself. It wasn't enjoyable but neither horrible to be stuck in the between space. Hours ticked by like minutes and nothing broke the silence of the room. Vader didn't reappear.

He was still trapped in this state as he was released from his restraints and pulled off the bed. He could see a black outline in the corner of his vision which sharpened all his senses. Vader may not have wanted to make a reappearance but he was always watching in the shadows, ready to interfere if necessary.

A set of cuffs were locked into his wrists as well as a collar around his neck. As he was led off of the ship into what appeared to be another larger ship, like a galactic cruiser perhaps, he was pushed forward into an elevator. The troopers pushed him hard forward and he proceeded to fall onto the floor when one of his feet missed the ledge of the shaft, landing hard on his burns. He bit the inside of his cheek so hard he tasted metal before managing to pull himself off and act as though the stumble didn't just nearly bring him to tears. He was escorted by the troopers but still no vader. And so the elevator went down…

And down…

And down…

Until the door opened to reveal a room that seemed to suck all light toward it.

"Master Kenobi," a cold voice whispered, like caressing Kenobi's ears with a blade. "How good to see you again my friend."

A figure, hideous and grotesque, bathed in black turned to meet his gaze.

"Emperor" Obi Wan whispered, looking into the malicious, yellow eyes of the man who took everything from him.

"I'm glad to see you survived the inquisitors and order 66 for all these years. It will bring me great satisfaction to kill you myself when the time comes. Or..." he paused. "Maybe I will let your former padawan do it for me while I watch. I don't know who it will hurt more. But for now, I think it best to know what you know, after all I can't have traitors to my empire roaming the galaxy."

Palpatine raised his hand, withered and decaying toward Kenobi, who was unable to move away.

Knives carved out information from his brain, trying to draw out all his secrets. They tore chunks out of Obi Wan's barriers, piece after carefully removed piece. The pain was blinding, it was all Obi Wan could focus on, all he could do to remain strong and not crumple under the pressure. Palpatine was a surgeon of the mind though. He seemed to know exactly where to cut things away to make it hurt. It was pure agony that Obi Wan fought through until the knives withdrew, leaving his bloody mangled mind in pause to come back to and finish later. Obi Wan felt cold floor on his cheek and realized at some point he had collapsed to the floor. His body was exhausted beyond measure and he was shaking ever so slightly.

"Why did you stop me Lord Vader?" The Emperor growled.

"He is of no used to us broken master." Anakin, Vader said submissively. "I need him of sound mind."

Palpatine growled take him out of my sight.

Stiff hands picked him up without care and dragged him away while Kenobi faded into and out of consciousness.

"Lay him there." A voice broke through the layer of murk in his mind.

"Do not disturb me."

Something was held to his mouth.

"Drink this."

The liquid flowed too quickly and Obi Wan choked on it at first, until he realized that he was desperately thirsty and he finished the glass. His head started to clear.

"Water helps. You dehydrate quickly." A voice whispered quietly.

"Here."

A cold something was placed against his forehead and Obi Wan could feel little beads of water trailing down his head. It was almost a miracle how much better Obi Wan began to feel. He sat upright slowly meeting Vader's eyes.

He just managed to croak out why before his voice failed him.

Vader didn't bother to respond.

"Why Anakin?" Obi Wan groaned.

"That's not my name." Anakin said sharply. And with that he left the room.

It was hours before Anakin came back.
