Phew! I'm back! At last! Every time I say I'm going to try and update faster, I always seem to jinx myself and end up taking just as long again. This time it was because this chapter was giving me quite a bit of trouble (no pun intended), and then, when I finally thought I'd cracked it*knock knock* Who's there? OVERTIME! Oh yeah, and then I had a mental breakdown; the usual rubbish. Thank you to those that messaged to check on me, though, that was really sweet of you. I'm just sorry I keep making all these false faster update promises *sigh*

Thank you so much for your comments and support in the meantime! I really do appreciate it all!

14: Fledgling Against Master

"Well, well, well," the familiar, low voice spoke, sending instant shivers down Seras' spine. "What do we have here? A naughty runaway fledgling."

All Seras could do was freeze in place as the tentacle continued to wrap tightly around her leg. Her prey had long been forgotten about as a new predator had entered the game. The blonde vampire didn't even dare to release the breath she had started holding. The touch of her master's tendrils tingled against her skin, shooting around her entire body before settling in the scar of the bite mark on her neck. Her master's tone gave nothing away, despite his potentially playful wording. Seras knew you could never assume her master's emotions. Right now, all she could do was remain still like there was a wasp in the room.

Finally, her master's hand came to rest on the back of her neck, pressing her down into the shattered ground beneath her. She was completely pinned in place, and the panic began to take root. It wove around her like her master's shadows. Oh god… she was trapped…

"You've been very disrespectful, Police Girl," Alucard rumbled above her, his nose nudging its way through her blonde locks.

Seras gritted her teeth as her heart barely left a nanosecond between each beat. Her master's body was now completely pressed against her own, trapping her between himself and the ground. His nose moved down to her neck, nudging beneath her ear so it was more exposed to him, and the smaller vampire felt the slight inhale of air against her skin. He breathed in along the bite mark on her neck, making her shiver again. It was like he was trying to wrap himself around her completely.

"Lying to me." His finger tapped against the back of her neck. "Hiding things from me." Another tap. "Displeasing my master." Tap.

Seras couldn't hold back the slight whimper that escaped her.

"Endangering everyone." Tap. "Running away." Tap. "Attacking my master's soldiers." Tap.

Alucard moved his face up slightly so his lips almost grazed her ear. "Risking our children."

With a roar, Seras swung her elbow backwards as hard as she could. A satisfying snap echoed around the now empty shopping centre as one of her master's ribs buckled under the force. He snarled as he was sent flying backwards and into the same wall she had smashed the wild geese against earlier. Seras' eyes glowed a hellish red as she growled at the master vampire.

"Stay away from them!" Her voice didn't even sound human anymore.

Alucard seemed to quickly get over his momentary shock as he closed his eyes and smirked. His fangs grew and began poking between his lips. This only served to fuel Seras' delirious state as his actions came across as mocking in nature. No one was going near Lily and Luna. NO ONE! Master or no master, he was not going to lay a single finger on them.

"A fledgling ordering their master around?" Alucard chuckled. "Anybody else would be dead, Police Girl." He pulled himself from the imprint his body had left in the concrete wall.

Seras stood her ground, but her eyes scanned around, desperately looking for an escape route. She knew that she didn't stand a chance against her master, so running away again would be her only option… if she could even get away… No! She had to! Her babies needed her! The more time she spent apart from them, knowing that they were on their own right now, the more feral she could feel herself becoming. Any rational thought that had managed to remain in her mind was fading fast.

"Yet," Alucard continued, "I couldn't be more proud of you. You stand before me as the beautiful, strong creature I knew you always could be." His maniacal grin began to shrink as his face turned more serious. "But the games end now, Seras Victoria."

A tendril shot out once again from her master's shadows, and Seras barely darted out of the way in time. She gasped as another came flying towards her, and again, the fledgling flung herself to the side, crouching down like a cat ready to pounce. With each attempt at pinning her in place, Alucard took a step towards her, and Seras hissed in response. But her master remained unfazed by her warning.

Shadows lunged to grab her ankle again, but the draculina managed to to swipe them out of existence with her sharp claws. Seras backed up a bit as her master drew closer and closer. The exit was behind him, but maybe there was another somewhere. In fact, there probably was, but Seras didn't dare turn her back on the creature stalking towards her. She watched as her master's hair lengthened, blending into his shadows that writhed towards her, slowly backing her against a wall. He was trying to corner her!

Seras let out another warning hiss, which her master only raised an eyebrow at. He continued to stalk towards her, and Seras jumped out of the way of another tentacle that attempted to ensnare her. He almost had her surrounded! She needed to find the twins! Visions of them hurt or lost assaulted her mind, and the blonde vampire clawed at her own head in an attempt to rid herself of such horrible thoughts. Blood oozed down her face, stopping Alucard in place before he tilted his head to one side.

Having had enough, Seras took advantage of the brief opening and leapt into the air as high as she could. Her red eyes locked into the exit, but she wasn't fast enough. A tentacle latched around her again, pulling her back down to the ground. She shrieked as she found herself pressed against the wall faster than she could blink. Her master loomed over her, pinning her in place with both his hands and his shadows. His face glowered down at her, and she found herself automatically shrinking back in fear.

"Where are they?!" Alucard snarled at her.

Seras shook her head and snarled wordlessly back at him.

Alucard merely rolled his eyes before grabbing her by the scruff of her shirt, pulling her, and then slamming her back against the wall, only this time so she was more eye-level with him. It didn't hurt, but it distracted Seras enough for her master to get even closer, his face almost touching hers as his own eyes glowed in warning. Her hands raised to his chest, trying to push him back, but she might as well have been pushing against a wall for all the good it was doing. Instead, she then tried clawing at his hand that kept hold of the front of her shirt. That was to no avail either. It shredded his gloves and drew blood, but her master didn't even flinch.

"WHERE ARE THEY?!" Alucard ordered again, his voice sounding more unhinged this time.

"LEAVE THEM ALONE!" Seras snarled back.

Her master shook her, moving his leg up to pin her own in place as they wildly kicked out at him.

"ENOUGH OF THIS!"

No! She would never hand them over! They were hers, and she needed to protect them!

Alucard pressed himself more against her. "Smell me, Seras!"

What? That certainly took the blonde vampire off guard for a second.

His mouth moved to her ear. "I would have much rather waited until you were ready, but smell me, sense me, feel me, Seras. Then you'll know who I am."

What was this? He was her master; Seras knew that! But right now, that didn't matter! He would hurt Lily and Luna! He was the one currently keeping them apart, and she had to get to them! To protect them!

Seras closed her eyes and held her breath in fear of her master using some kind of mind trick on her. That was the only explanation for his words. She leaned away, trying to slide sideways out of his grip instead. However, this only caused her master's thigh to slide between her legs and for his face to bury itself in her neck again. His black hair was all that she could see, but that became the least of her concerns as she froze at the feeling of his leg pressed between her own. Her face heated at the strange, intimate sensation. She shifted slightly, and even through her jeans, she was acutely aware of how close her master was to… Her blush deepened.

The draculina then felt her master smirk against her neck as he seemed to catch on to what was going through her mind, and he raised his thigh higher, causing Seras to let out a squeak. A new cloudiness had fogged up her brain, and the feel of her master was all she could concentrate on. His thigh seemed to press some sort of button within her, and Seras found herself letting her weight fall more onto him, adding more pressure to the nerves there. Alucard purred against her skin, yet still, Seras held her breath in confusion at this new, incredible sensation.

Why did this feel so good?

Regardless of her confusion, the blonde vampire relaxed into her master's hold, shifting her weight some more, sending a pleasurable jolt between her legs. A warm tongue licked against her bite mark, releasing another shudder from her. Hands and shadows stroked every inch of visible skin, making the draculina feel warm and safe. The pulses of pleasure felt like she was riding an ocean wave as it pulled itself up, the crest readying to wash over her.

"That's it, Seras," her master's voice whispered against her.

The sound of Alucard's voice was like plunging back into the cold sea as her eyes snapped open. What was she doing?!

Turning beet red in embarrassment and anger, Seras didn't even register that she had managed to teleport from her master's arms and to the other side of the room. Her body felt cold once again without his body and shadows caressing her, but the draculina tried to ignore that strange, new, lonely feeling. Especially when it didn't even take her master a second to realise that she had vanished.

Alucard's entire body whipped around to face her again, only this time, he was definitely beyond pissed. His hair reached the ground, curling through every crack in the tiles as it snaked its way back towards her as if each lock had a mind of its own. His fangs were gritted together, and the scratch marks on his hands had long since repaired themselves. Eyes glowed a demonic red as more of them opened up around her, each one with its gazes locked on the trembling blonde vampire.

Without waiting another second, Seras bolted for the exit, ducking and diving through the jungle of shadowy tendrils. Pure panic fuelled her, and Alucard's growls of frustration grew louder and louder, practically shaking the whole building.

"SERAS!"

The smaller vampire squeaked as she'd never heard her master shout like that before. It rumbled like an earthquake, nearly knocking her off balance. Come on, come on! Teleport again! Seras begged her fickle powers to work again. She had no idea how she had done it before, but she certainly wished that she could do it again right now! The more energy she used, the more tired she could feel herself becoming. How long had it been since she'd last had some blood to drink? It was probably through sheer will alone that Seras was able to remain conscious right now. She just had to escape!

"Ah!" Seras yelped as one of her master's shadows finally tripped her.

The exit was just in front of her! The nightlife of the city was just barely visible as the shadows of Alucard began to shroud the place. Seras reached one hand out towards her freedom, but the rest of her body remained pinned in place. Nails scraped against the floor as she was pulled backwards, her master's weight settling on top of her, all the while his arms formed impenetrable prison bars around her.

"NO!" Seras screamed before a shadow clamped down over her mouth.

Tears burned the corner of Seras' eyes at the thought of herself being so weak and easily defeated. Her master probably hadn't even released any of his restrictions, making his capture of her all the more humiliating. Teleport, teleport, teleport, TELEPORT! Seras begged her body to no avail. She remained stuck in place while her master's chuckle filled her ears.

"This is why all good little fledglings must drink their blood," Alucard scolded her, his lips almost touching her ear.

Seras shivered, but was otherwise unable to reply.

"Now一" Alucard pressed her harder into the ground "一where are the girls?"

Seras kept her mind locked only on thoughts of escape, causing Alucard to snarl at her.

"I'm warning you, Police Girl! This is serious!"

Seras shook her head as best as she could under her master's grip.

"They're in great danger if you don't一"

Danger? Seras' heart leapt up into her throat as that word continued to echo around in her mind. Her babies were in danger!

Red eyes blinked as she suddenly felt the weight of her master disappear from above her. Tile was replaced by stone pavement, and her body relaxed now the shadows no longer held her in place. Seras gasped as she blinked again before her head snapped up at the sound of loaded weapons pointing at her. She was outside? Hellsing soldiers had apparently surrounded the building during her small battle, and each one now held a gun, loaded with blessed bullets, locked on her position on the ground.

"Seras Victoria!" one of them barked at her. "You are ordered to stand do一AH!"

Where the soldier previously stood now sat a very fancy looking silver aston martin. The windows were blacked out, and the soldier groaned from his new position several metres away. A few soldiers crowded him to see if he was okay, and all Seras could do was blink in confusion as the driver's side window rolled down. Luna stuck her small head out with a grin, sunglasses adorning her face as she beeped the horn.

Before Seras could yell at them, she screamed in panic as the soldiers began shooting at both her and the vehicle. She nearly pulled the passenger side door off its hinges as she jumped inside, ducking both her and Luna down to avoid the blessed bullets.

"What are you doing?!" Seras shrieked at them.

"Rescuing you!" Luna replied as if it was obvious. The sunglasses she was wearing were way too big for her, and she kept having to push them up her nose.

"Where's Lily?!"

"Here I am!" another high pitched voice came from below Luna. The tiny blonde poked her head out from under the steering wheel having been sat next to the pedals.

Seras wanted to tear her hair out before yelping as a blessed bullet just narrowly missed her ear.

"I'm driving!" she shouted at the twins.

"But一"

Seras glanced behind her just in time to see shadows leaking out from the entrance of the shopping centre. Red eyes glowed in the darkness, able to lock onto her own with ease. Soldiers were pushed aside and guns snatched off them as they continued to shoot at the car, bullet holes now decorating the metal.

"Shit! Step on it!" Seras then screamed when seeing the look in her master's eye.

Her tone of voice meant that the twins didn't need to be told twice. Lily pulled the gear stick into reverse before ducking back down and slamming her hands on the accelerator. Seras fought the steering wheel off Luna who would have happily driven them through the crowds of soldiers. They tore through the police tape that had cornered off the area and joined the busy rush hour traffic of the city.

"Hey! No fair! I like steering!" Luna glared at her mother and tried to wrestle the steering wheel back.

Seras yelped as she narrowly avoided a huge collision with a lorry. She appeared to have accidentally driven them onto a motorway and cars honked their horns at them as they sped by. Her entire body was stretched over from the passenger seat she attempted to gain control of the car. The engine revved and Seras nearly lost her balance as she fought to shift the gear stick.

"Can I have a turn now?" Lily asked from her spot, her hand pushing down the accelerator.

"No!" Seras yelled. "I'm driving! Move over, Luna!"

"Awww." Luna sulked.

"Now!"

Luna huffed as she climbed over Seras' body and sat in the passenger seat with her arms crossed and her lower lip pouting outwards. Seras nudged Lily's hand off the pedal with her foot, making sure the car didn't lose its speed as they zoomed past skyscrapers and other cars. She motioned with her head for Lily to join her sister, and she did so without as much of a fuss. Seras felt herself relax a tiny bit now that she was fully in control of the car.

Wait… where the fuck did they even get this from anyway?

"Where did you get this?" Seras demanded, her fingers tapping the leather of the wheel.

Lily hid her face under a curtain of platinum blonde hair.

"We found it," Luna answered proudly.

"You mean you stole it!" Seras growled, her brain unable to keep up with everything that was going on. If someone had told Seras a few days ago that she would be racing down the motorway in a stolen car with her daughters from the future, with her master and Hellsing chasing after them… well… she would have laughed right in their face. But now here she was, doing just that.

"I told you it was stealing!" Lily chimed in, glaring at her sister. "Now we'll be in even more trouble!"

"Well… they shouldn't have just left it there abandoned!" Luna retorted, still sulking as she glared out of the window.

"I told you guys to run for it!" Seras continued to scold them through gritted teeth.

"We were worried about you when we saw those mean looking men," Lily replied as tears began to well up in her eyes. "We were scared to go any further without you."

Luna tutted. "Speak for yourself on that one," she mumbled.

"I'm going to park this car somewhere and then we're going to escape," Seras explained as her eyes quickly scanned a road sign highlighting the nearest exit.

However, Seras had to do a double take as she glanced in the rear-view mirror. Unmarked police cars chased after them with their sirens blaring, with what looked like Hellsing soldiers inside them. Oh great. Could somebody just give her a fucking break! Seras yelled internally. Some of the cars steered civilian cars to come to a stop at the side of the road, leaving the motorway almost empty. A trickle of sweat ran down Seras' face as she could just picture Sir Integra fuming as she watched the scene unfold. All the more reason to try and get away then.

"Wow!" Both Lily and Luna gasped in awe as a helicopter flew over them.

Meanwhile all Seras could do was let out a whimper.

Another glance in the mirror made Seras panic even more as something dark appeared to be charging towards them, faster than any car could ever drive. All three vampires in the car gasped as a loud thud sounded from the roof of the vehicle, and Seras' pale skin turned even whiter. A hand reached through the ceiling, grabbing Seras by the back of her collar.

"Keep driving!" Seras had just enough time to shriek before she was pulled through the metal and out into the open air.

The wind whipped through her blonde locks as the speed of the car increased, however, her master had no issues with remaining stable. Only his face was visible in the darkness of his shadows as they swirled around the both of them. Seras didn't think she had ever felt more scared than what she did right now. Her master looked downright murderous!

Before he could grab the twins as well, Seras flung all of her weight onto Alucard, knocking them both off the top of the car and onto the hard surface of the road. The twins continued to speed off, much to Seras' relief. That relief, however, was interrupted by the pain of tarmac digging into her skin, almost shedding the first three layers off. Her whole body burned and stung, like she had just taken a dip in acid. She was losing more precious blood, and she didn't know how much fight she had left in her.

Her master growled as he took the majority of the force of their landing, both of them finally rolling to a stop. Seras looked up and shrieked as it looked like someone had taken a cheese-grater to her master's face. Peels of flesh hung loosely down his cheeks, and one eye was dangling from its socket and staring right at her. There were a few tears in his clothes, exposing reddening and torn skin beneath, and the two of them lay in a pool of their own blood.

Alucard seemed to manage to calm himself down before he chuckled while pushing his eyeball back into place, kneeling on the road as he drew all of the spilled blood back into his body. He healed in no time, as if he had never been injured in the first place. Meanwhile, Seras remained a mess in the middle of the road, panting as she watched to see what her master would do next. What if he teleported after them himself? Even without his restrictions lifted, the twins were still close enough for him to reach them. She had to buy them as much time as possible!

"My tenacious little fledgling." He chuckled again. "Normally, I would be impressed, however, time is of the essence."

"I won't let you hurt them!" Seras snarled.

Alucard's eyes widened for a second before he smirked. "I don't doubt that, my dear. But you're hurting them right now. They need us."

"You're not going anywhere near them! I'm sorry, master, but I don't trust you!"

Alucard's smirk turned into a glare. "Then you're an even bigger idiot than I thought you were."

Seras practically howled like a wild animal as her master moved to teleport. Moving at the speed of light, Seras managed to grab hold of the sleeve of his jacket, causing him to drag her through the void with him. Darkness surrounded them both, and Seras attempted to climb her way up his much taller body, hitting, punching, clawing, pulling, and pushing him around as much as she could. She felt like a feral animal, and her master growled in annoyance.

Everything she was doing seemed to have finally knocked him off course as the two of them reappeared further ahead in the empty motorway, rolling across the tarmac again. Alucard grabbed at her, but Seras hissed and fought back, her master narrowly avoiding her sharp teeth as they snapped at him.

"Quite the fierce maternal instinct you have, police girl," Alucard purred as he pinned her down again. "It's really quite the turn-on. I'd expect nothing less from my mate. Fight me, Police Girl! Prove you're worthy to carry my seed!"

Seras froze before glaring at him in disgust. "You're sick!"

Alucard chuckled again. "It got your attention though, didn't it, my dear? Now I think it's time for a family reunion."

Before Seras could blink, he had teleported the two of them again. Now her master was carrying her in his arms as he raced after the speeding car ahead of them. It appeared they were now beyond the city as country hills sped past them, barely visible in the blur of speed and silver light of the moon. The Pennines stretched out for miles around them and Seras panicked as Alucard grew closer and closer towards the twins. Her heart froze in her chest, and her red eyes remained wide and unblinking, even as the cold night air whipped against her face like thousands of tiny sharp knives. Alucard reached a hand out, ready to grab hold of the vehicle as they sped past a wind farm.

Without even thinking properly, Seras used the last of her strength to kick at her master, launching his body in the opposite direction as she was sent backwards, slamming into the back of the aston martin, knocking it off course from the force. Her body imprinted itself into the boot, but Seras' eyes remained locked on her master as he bared his teeth at her in mid-air. But before he could even retaliate, a wind turbine swung around and slammed into his side, launching him even further in the opposite direction. Seras almost winced in sympathy as her master became nothing more than a spec in the distance, blood showering down on the surrounding landscape as pieces of her master rained down everywhere.

However, her attention was quickly captured by the screeching of tyres and the frantic cries of the young girls still inside. The car spun towards a barrier that separated the road from the edge of sheer cliff face where jagged rocks waited in the valley below.

Gasping in panic, Seras managed to make herself intangible and reached through the metal of the car. She grabbed hold of the two young girls as they crashed through the barrier and tumbled into the darkness.

I hope this chapter turned out okay given the writer's block and the fact that I'm terrible at writing fight and action scenes. The amount of time I had to delete and re-write bits is unreal, so I'm paranoid it's come out a bit muddled, but I feel like this is the best I'm going to get.

Unfortunately I've been having some trouble with my email notifications on FFN, so if you message, it might take me a while to see it/respond since the stupid website keeps glitching on me. I have no idea if anyone else is having this issue, it just hates my email address for some weird reason.

Double Trouble now also has its first fan art piece! Massive thanks to judasiscarithot for the awesome work! Be sure to check it out as well as their other work as they're a very talented artist and have lots of other amazing Hellsing work! Feel free to follow us both on Tumblr. My asks are always open and it's great to see people are sending me some - don't be shy! Go look at the art! Go! Go! Go!
