Lloyd stared at his broken face in the water. He sat on the edge of the dock, above the salty water. His lip was torn, and his eyebrow and face were cut, leaving a mess of ugly scars. Lloyd's face was barely recognisable, and without his green gi, he was sure that nobody could be able to tell who he was. Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe I just need a fresh start. Or maybe I'm loosing myself, if I'm not the Green Ninja, then who am I? The Son of Garmadon? He shivered at the thought and brushed the whisps of hair out of his face. That wouldn't work either.
"Hey Double L." Striker put a hand on his shoulder, sitting next to him.
"Are you alright?" He asked, gently taking his hand, and putting his knees out dangling above the water. Lloyd sat silently hi throat still burning. Talking had been so hard recently. He shook his head, unable to string any words together, physically, and mentally.
"Do you want a hug?" Striker turned his head to face Lloyd, who was shorter than him. Lloyd nodded sadly, trying not to cry. Everything was breaking around him, he started to forget stuff that had kept him together for so many years. Everything he had known; everyone he had known was a lie. When he fought for all those years, he had been crawling into a trap that he thought he could never escape. But now he was free, and utterly confused. Striker's body was as cold as his, they were in the same unfair game that Lloyd had played for so many years. Unlike Lloyd, Striker was proud of what he was.
Or at least, he was fine with what he was. Lloyd had spent so many sleepless nights wondering what and who he was going to be, beside his miserable job. Striker knew who he was, he knew what he was gonna do, what he wanted to be.
Lloyd gripped Striker's back with all his might, a tear slowly rolling out his eye.
He had no idea what destiny had in store for him, but he so desperately wanted the answer, just straight up. Back home, he had everything was laid out in front of him, everything he should do, how he should be. But now he didn't know what to say, who to be. Lloyd squeezed his eyes shut when tears started to run helplessly down his face. Stupid. I'm so stupid. Why would anyone want to be friends with me? They probably did it for the laughs. They probably hated him if they were going to just leave him here, all alone.
"It's gonna be ok." Striker whispered, his voice gentle. "You can cry if you want to."
Yeah sorry guys this is more of an update then an actual chapter (I'm so sorry)
I have two new stories that directly link to this one; Ninjago Echoes of the Fall 2.0 and My friends will come for me. Please, go check these ones out! I will be updating this story but not as much, as I feel the other two need to "catch up" with this one. Thank you so much for reading thus far and again I'm sorry for the delays :(
