As Mario walked down the corridor he was immediately greeted by the countenance of a large reptile depicted on a panting plastered to the wall on the far side of the long hallway, a face Mario knew well as it was none other than the face of-
"Bowser!"
Mario quickly went to investigate the panting that had obviously been put up by his arch-nemesis, but before he could, the carpeted floor beneath him opened up revealing a trap that he'd fallen right into. Thus, Mario was sent plummeting down right onto a platform placed in the middle of a large blue sky.
There right in front of him stood none other than the vile beast himself, and with a loud roar he went to charge straight after Mario who quickly dogged away as he quickly gained his bearings.
"You! What-a have you done with the princess!"
Ignoring his questions the large yellow beast let out animal like noises, as he bared down his claws on the red plumber. Mario continued to dodge around the large Koopa as he began to look around his surroundings to try and gain an advantage to fight back. That's when he noticed the mines surrounding the platform they were on.
Making a change of plans Mario immediately charged Bowser from the rear as he quickly grabbed onto his tail. Using all his strength he dragged the Koopa King round-and-round until he was lifting him off the ground, and then threw him directly into one of the mines, exploding upon impact.
"So long-a Bowser!"
The Koopa King fell on his shell as he was utterly defeated, before dispersing into thin-air as if he wasn't there to begin with, leaving behind a star colored a virulent red hue, along with some coins.
"That's-a strange."
Seeing the peculiar star before him and with the disappearance of Bowser, he questioned what exactly was going on; however, it was no matter at this moment, he was going to save Princess Peach, and that came first and foremost. Coming to that conclusion Mario reached out to touch the Red star.
It was at that moment the world changed-
Turning around he was no longer on the platform but rather in large corridor which stretched out ahead of him, with a large red carpet leading to a set of double doors. To his sides two walls that extended three stories tall were supported on large columns and decorated with small torches which illuminated the dim room.
'Where did they find the time to build all this.' He thought, this wasn't anything like Peach's castle. He noted a set of doors behind him on top a set of stair as well as four numbered doors on the sides walls. The plumber was beginning to understand that saving the Princess wasn't going to be so simple this time; therefore, he decided go with his gut, choosing to go through the doors ahead.
Another corridor, he continued to walk down it, mulling over all the possibilities of what was happening. As he reached the end of the hall he found a large opening which transitioned into a large open courtyard, the sky blotted out by a mystical bluish overcast. Large brick walls oversaw a field of yellow dandelions, along with the occasional boo which drifted through the large open space.
"Oh Peach, where are you?"
"Mario! Mario! where are you?"
Shortly after Wario had taken off, Luigi decided to go look for his brother not wanting to stay by himself alone in the unfamiliar lobby. Therefore he had entered the double doors Mario had gone through before which led to a large staircase heading up which Luigi traversed with no problem.
At the top of the steps were another set of double doors which had two torches sat by its sides, Luigi quickly made his way inside noting how dark it was in the new room he found himself in.
"Mario, lets head back. We can find the princess later after we find some help."
Luigi nervously darted his way through the dark room calling out for his brother. He could barley see in front of him, but he pushed through eventually touching what he presumed was a wall. He continued to feel his way around until he believed he found an outcropping.
"Mario are you there?"
The hall up ahead seeming even darker than it already was, Luigi was reluctant to push forward, but his desire to meet back up with his bro was stronger, so he had to brave. Resolving himself, he took a step forward, and another, and another…. Slowly making his way down the hall not having noticed the sign at the top depicting a large no entry sign plastered above.
He continued to walk down the path which he could swear was now glowing an eerie red glow, shaking in his boots until he found what appeared to be a fountain right in the middle of this strange place.
"W-What, what is this doing here."
Luigi had put a gloved hand to the fountain curious as how something like that could have gotten in here, as soon as he did however there was a drastic shift in his surroundings.
"-WAH!"
Instantly the world that had been dark immediately brightened, as he was now in an outdoor courtyard with bright overcast skies, wind howling and bringing a cool breeze with it.
"-AH!"
What was more notable to the green plumber however, was the amount of Boos in this place, it was like this whole court yard was haunted to every corner. Quickly he darted off frightened out of his wits, reaching for the double doors which seemingly headed back into the castle hoping for safety within it's walls.
"Ah, where am I now?"
Picking his nose Wario entered yet another room. This place was like a maze; he had no Idea where he was going. He just wanted get some delicious free food, and now he was stuck here.
"Ah whatever I'll just ask the next person I see to direct me out, might as well take something valuable while no ones looking."
Unbeknownst to the greedy mustached man, he had entered a room much akin to the original lobby of the castle; this disturbing fact went unnoticed by Wario, bringing his attention to the coins sat on the outcroppings set by the stairs. His mind focused entirely on the prize, he didn't even notice as the floor creaked when he stepped on the yellow sun in the middle of the foyer.
"-Ah"
By the time he noticed his mistake it was already to late as the floor gave away under his weight. Sending him plummeting right though the hole that opended up beneath him, sealing his fate.
"WAAAAHHHHHH!"
Falling, falling he continuously plummeted down to his doom, wind whistled by his ears, as the brickwork walls quickly passed him, falling deeper into the black pit. An enteral torment that he was being put through, falling further, and further, screaming as he cried for help. Until that is, he reached the very bottom and hit the stone ground, and everything went black.
