Elena had found herself in Klaus' bed once again. He'd called her over when he got his coffins back. Apparently, he was in the mood to celebrate, and that meant a booty call. Of course, he was pissed when he found out she had known where his coffins were for about a day before he did, but that had just added to the attraction, apparently. "So, you got your coffins back."
"Most of them. Of course, I'd have all of them if you'd told me where they were when you found out," Klaus said with a scowl.
"Yeah, well, that's not my problem. I don't care what happens anymore, on either side. I don't care about this war between you and the Salvatores. I don't care who wins. I'm sick of being a pawn," Elena said.
"Oh, but you're such a lovely pawn, sweetheart," Klaus said in an amused tone.
Elena resisted the urge to smack him. It wasn't as if it would do any good anyway. Instead, she rolled on top of him.
"Oh, round two now?" Klaus asked with a grin. He wasn't complaining. He would happily go again.
"More like round three or four," Elena said before she began kissing him. Then she heard footsteps and abruptly stopped. "Who is that?"
"One of my hybrids, though he shouldn't be on this floor," Klaus said. He'd had one of his hybrids dealing with his coffins. Normally, that was something he'd deal with himself, but he had a doppelganger to entertain.
The door suddenly burst open revealing Elijah.
"Oh my God!" Elena exclaimed before rolling off of Klaus and hiding under the blankets. The last thing she needed was for Klaus' brother to see her in this position.
"Elijah," Klaus said in shock.
Elijah's face was beat red, and he immediately left the room and shut the door.
Elena came out from under the covers and started beating Klaus with a pillow. "You didn't tell me you woke him up!" Not that she minded that he woke Elijah up, but she definitely minded that he was roaming around the mansion to barge in while she was having sex with his brother.
"I didn't!" Klaus said as dodged the pillow a couple of times before taking it from her. "Damon must have pulled the dagger out before I got there."
"Great," Elena said sarcastically before getting up and picking up her clothes and getting dressed.
Klaus began getting dressed as well. "It's not the end of the world, love. He didn't see much anyway."
"Shut up!" Elena snapped as they both finished getting dressed.
After they were done getting dressed, Klaus led the way out of the room and downstairs. He found his brother down in the living room. He barely took two steps before he felt his brother's hand on his neck.
Elena watched as Elijah slammed Klaus against the wall. She bypassed them and took a seat on the couch. It certainly wasn't her problem if Elijah wanted to teach Klaus a lesson for daggering him.
"Okay, I saw this coming," Klaus said with a groan.
"What did you do to her?!" Elijah asked angrily as he used his free hand to point to Elena.
Klaus rolled his eyes. "Nothing she didn't want."
"I am truly to believe that?" Elijah asked in disbelief. There was no part of him that believed that Elena would willingly go into his brother's bed. He always thought force was a line his brother would never cross, but there was no other explanation.
"Uh, Elijah, far be from me to stop you from beating the hell out of your brother, but he's right. Everything between your brother and I for the last few days has been consensual. He didn't force me or compel me. It was my idea," Elena told him.
Elijah looked at her for a minute before releasing his brother and walking over to her. "Elena, are you okay?"
"Aside from being slightly mortified, yes," Elena said.
"Come on, love. It's not like he hasn't seen it on two other bodies identical to yours," Klaus said with a smirk.
Elena picked up a vase that was sitting on the coffee table and chucked it at Klaus' head.
Klaus easily caught it before glaring at her. "Hey! This is a bloody antique!"
"I'm very sorry, Elena. I heard your voice. I had no idea that I'd find you… like that. I apologize profusely," Elijah said. He'd thought she was there because his brother was holding her hostage or something. Although, thinking back, their conversation was a bit casual for that. He hadn't really been focusing on what they were saying though. The mere fact that Elena was there was troubling to him. He'd promised this young girl that he'd stop his brother and protect her loved ones. He'd failed to do both those things. He didn't wish to fail her again.
"It's okay. I appreciate the thought," Elena said.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Elijah asked. He was still having a hard time believing that Elena had willingly entered his brother's bedroom, let alone slept with him.
"The girl is fine. I don't need to compel anyone into my bed," Klaus said a bit insulted.
"Elijah, I'm fine. I'm on vervain. He didn't compel me," Elena promised.
"Please don't take this as me judging you, but the last I knew, you were very much in love with young Stefan," Elijah said.
Elena glared. She wasn't really glaring at Elijah. The mention of Stefan's name just brought it out of her. "Stefan can go to hell!"
Klaus laughed. "Don't get her started, brother."
Elijah was taken aback. The last he knew, Elena loved Stefan more than anything. She would've done anything for him. That had apparently changed since he was daggered.
Elena stood up. "Well, I should let the two of you catch up."
"Will you let me escort you home?" Elijah asked.
"That's not necessarily, Elijah. I have my car," Elena said.
Klaus laughed. "He wants to make sure I haven't taken advantage of you or corrupted you."
"Fine," Elena said before leading the way out of the room.

Elena pulled her car into her driveway and parked it. She then looked at Elijah. He hadn't said a word to her since they left the mansion. "I don't think you came home with me just to sit in silence. Say what's on your mind."
Elijah sighed. "You don't have to tell me anything. I am aware that this is none of my business. And I certainly will not judge you. It's just that the last thing I expected when I woke up was to find you with my brother."
Elena laughed. "Yeah, I didn't expect it either. If someone had told me even a month ago that it would happen, I would've laughed in their face.
"As I said, you don't have to tell me, but I'll ask anyway. What happened? What changed? You are not the same as you were before the sacrifice," Elijah said.
"No, I'm not. Stefan happened. Him and your brother," Elena said before proceeding to fill him in on the last several months.
Elijah sighed sadly. "I'm sorry, Elena. What Stefan did was wrong. You didn't deserve that."
"Thank you. You're the first person who has said that without any kind of defense of him," Elena said. Even Caroline had tried to say that Stefan wouldn't have actually done it. She'd come around quickly, but she had still said it like it should've mattered.
"There is no defense to something like that. You were betrayed by someone who claimed to love you. I have to ask you this though. Are you certain that turning to my brother is the right choice? Again, I don't mean to judge you. I simply don't want to see you hurt," Elijah said.
"That's the beauty of it, Elijah. I can't get hurt. It's not like I love Klaus. He killed my aunt. I still hate him. I just hate Stefan more. At least Klaus doesn't pretend to be something he isn't. I know exactly what I'm getting with him," Elena said.
"You believe Stefan pretended to be something he wasn't?" Elijah asked.
"I think that he couldn't have done what he did if he ever loved me. His hated for Klaus overpowered everything else. I don't believe it could do that if he truly loved me," she said.
"Is that why you did it? You wanted to get revenge by sleeping with my brother?" Elijah asked.
Elena nodded. "That's why I did it the first time, that and to make sure Stefan was out of my life. I wanted to make sure there was no going back. I came back for more because it kind of felt therapeutic. It helps me get my aggression out."
"Say no more please," Elijah requested. He was starting to have pictures in his head that he did not want. It was bad enough that he'd never get the images of walking in on them out of his head. "As I said, I am not judging you. Who you choose to be with is your business."
Elena chuckled. "You're one of the few that will think that."
"I'm still concerned though. I would hate to see who you are destroyed because of the likes of Stefan Salvatore. You're a very compassionate young woman. I do not want to see that taken from you," Elijah said.
She shrugged. "Compassion can be a flaw. So can forgiveness. I'm tired of being forgiving. It doesn't get me anywhere. It was what led to Stefan having the power to hurt me. I won't let him have that power anymore. I'm done with him."
"I'm sorry, Elena. I cannot help but feel that I am party to blame for this. I promised you that I would rid you of my brother. I didn't keep that promise," Elijah said.
Elena waved off his apology. "I should've known you couldn't keep that promise. I have a brother too. I could never hurt him, even if he turned out like Klaus. I should've known better. Anyway, I should head inside."
Elijah got out of the car and watched Elena do the same. "Are you going to be okay with all that has happened?"
"Yeah. I feel better than I have in a long time. Ironically, I owe your brother for that. In fact, I look forward to the day where I can show my appreciation right in front of Stefan," Elena said with a smirk before walking towards her front door.
