Chapter 1

Rapunzel sighed to herself as she looked out the window of her tower. As she had many times in the past, her whole entire life. She then looked back at the mural she painted on the wall, which showed her up on a tree looking at floating lights. Her sixteenth birthday was in a few months and her one wish was to out and see those floating lights. But she knew her mother would never let her go. It was a dangerous world out there, she knew that very well.

Rapunzel: ...I wish I could see them in person. But I can't, mother always says it's dangerous out there. There are thugs, thieves, and...

She continued to look at the mural, she always wondered what it was like to be out there, to feel the fresh grass, to run and jump freely in the meadow, to meet people, to have friends, even to fall in love. A grim expression fell on her face, she knew she couldn't keep staying here and slowly watch her dreams fade away. Then her grim look turned into a determined as she turned to her chameleon friend, Pascal, who was on her left shoulder.

Rapunzel: Pascal, grab what you think will be necessary. We're going.

The little chameleon squeaked in surprise and protested.

Rapunzel: We won't be gone for long. We'll just see what's out there then come back, promise. Then I will prove to my mother I can handle myself out there.

Pascal hesitated for a minute.

Rapunzel: Please.

The chameleon looked at the girl who gave him pleading eyes. He knew this was her dream, and he knew she really wanted to see them, so he gave a reluctant squeak as a response.

Rapunzel: Great! Let's do this!

After packing a few essentials, (and her iconic frying pan) she was ready to go. She placed her hair on the hook and looked down from above the tower. Was she really doing this? Is she really doing this? Without any other thoughts she used her hair to climb only to stop with her being a few inches from the ground. She slowly and carefully placed her bare feet on the ground touching the grass.

Rapunzel: I am doing this... I AM ACTUALLY DOING THIS!!!!

She squealed, and jumped in joy. This was everything she had ever dreamed of. She twirled around and did a cart-wheel and out of the entrance of the cave. She had a big smile on her face. But then her fantasy land came to a stop when her eyes widened.

Rapunzel: Mother is going to be furious.

But she recomposed herself.

Rapunzel: No I am already here there is no turning back now.

She walked around the forest, and after hours of walking she realized she was lost. Then suddenly she heard rustling from the bushes nearby, Pascal hid in Rapunzel's hair. Saying that Rapunzel was scared is an understatement.

Rapunzel: Thugs! cannibals! why didn't I listen to my mother?!

As soon as she heard the sound getting closer, scared, Rapunzel quickly ran as fast as her feet could go, not bothering to look back as the sound started to get closer and closer. She ran until she came near a waterfall, hearing the sound get close she used her hair to climb on top of a tree, she held her hair tightly. Just then a group of uniformed men came out.

Man 1: Are you sure you saw her, sir? The King and Queen have been looking for her for years.

Man 2: I know it was her. Just keep looking.

As soon as he said that they left, Rapunzel sighed in relief. They didn't look like they had sharp teeth like her mother had told her. And what were they talking about? Who were they looking? She shook those thoughts and as she was about to get off the tree the branch snapped and she fell in the river. She quickly grabbed on to the branch as she was violently shaken through the river as Pascal held on tightly to her.

Rapunzel: HELP! SOMEONE PLEASE!

The river then dragged her out into the sea. She screamed out for help again only to get splashed with water which she spat out. She continued to hold on to the branch for her life.

After hours of being at sea, Raunpzel was cold, hungry, and her vision blurred. The last thing Rapunzel saw before is black out was a huge boat and big man with a hug werid hat yelling commands.
