The group was hanging out near one of the trees by the village. It was around late evening, and were horrifically exhausted.
"Kagome, why don't you get some rest. We don't want you to be tired tomorrow, or get sick from lack of sleep." Miroku said, quietly, trying not to wake up the small fox demon in his lap.
"Sure thing, Miroku. Goodnight everyone." Kagome said with a tired yawn following her words.
"Goodnight." Sango and Inuyasha said together."
Kagome laid down on her pillow and drifted off into a good nights rest.

They were battling Naraku one random day. Inuyasha was extremely tired from the fighting and the wounds he had on him. Everyone could tell he was tired and just ready to relax for once in his life, but his friends knew he would do anything in his will to take his arch enemy down, no matter how tired he was.
He picked up his sword from the ground and lifted it up over his head using the same battle tactic he did for the fourth time.
Kagome tried to warm him, but he already said the two words that made sparks of wind fly from his sword. Each time he used this Naraku always dodged the attack but he just stood there, letting the attack hit him.
Perhaps he was tired too. That's what everyone thought.
Once the sparks of wind faded after a moment it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Kagome sensed something though, something...different, maybe?
The next thing they knew, the scar of wind came flying back at Inuyasha hitting him in his torso, making him collapse to the ground.
He absorbed it and flung his own attack back at him, back at Inuyasha.
Kagome dropped her things, running over to him, dropping on her knees by his side. "Inuyasha!"
He looked up at her. "Kagome..."
She grabbed his hand and put it on her cheek. "Don't worry Inuyasha, we'll get you home, I'll take you to my home if you'd like, my era! We can get you as much ninja food as you'd like! We'll get you all fixed and you could come back! That sounds fun right? Right Inuyasha?" Her tears were running down her face.
He smiled a bit. "Thank you Kagome..." He looked at her, injuries over a thousand times worse.
She nuzzled into his hand, tears spilling from her eyes, running down his wounded arm.
"Please don't die Inuyasha...please..." She sobbed into his hand.
His arm went limp in hers as she noticed his raspy breathing stop.
Her eyes shot open.
"Inuyasha?"
There was no response.
"Inuyasha?!" She shook him violently.
There was still no response.
"Inuyasha!!!" She screamed this time. Her face was read with tears streaming down her face. She grabbed his head and put it in her lap , hovering over his lifeless body. Hugging it protectively, she cried nonstop.

Kagome's eyes shot open. She sat up breathing heavily, clutching onto her sides, her bangs covering her brown eyes as she looked down.
After a minute she decided it was best to calm down and go for a walk. She untucked herself from her sleeping back, looking up at the sky filled with stars for a minute. After that minute, she stood up and started walking. She walked close to the camp, sometimes going further of a distance when she arrived at a small hill in the valley they were in.
The village was quite out in the open, so plain areas filled with grass and small hills were normal.
She breathed in and out slowly, trying to regain her normal thoughts. God she'd rather think about those damn exams for once besides this.
She smiled at the stars, praying to the gods and goddesses she would have more time with Inuyasha than her dream presented to her.
After a few quiet moments of her standing on the hill with her eyes closed, small gusts of wind blowing over her body, she decided it was time to head back.
Kagome got to her sleeping bag, as she looked over the bigger mountains which seemed miles upon miles away. Dawn was slowly but surly approaching, so she decided to lay down, trying to get some rest. Her body and mind wouldn't allow her though, so she laid thinking about him, her love, her Inuyasha.

When morning arrived, everyone awoke, gathering their belongings.
Kagome didn't speak or say one word that whole morning.
She had a worrisome yet saddened facial expression from the time they all awoke. Normally this wasn't like her, and everyone knew that clearly.
"Kagome...are you doing okay?" Sango asked her.
"Yes! I'm doing just fine!" She tried her hardest to smile.
"Are you sure?" Sango asked again.
"Yes, I'm perfectly sure, actually, I'm more than sure!"
Sango nodded, walking over to help Miroku.
Inuyasha could tell clearly that something happened, even after that whole "act" she gave to Sango just now. Dumb humans.
They left shortly after morning, traveling by foot until later afternoon. The sky starting the change colors from blue to a pink, just little by little.
Inuyasha got sick of seeing that sad look on her face all damn day. This wasn't like her, this wasn't like her at all!
Shippo jumped on Kagome's shoulder. Even the fox knew. "Kagome, you should probably go back to Kaede's village. I think you may need a break of Inuyasha." Shippo chided.
She sighed. "Actually...I wanna go home. Home home."
Inuyasha stepped up to her. "Kagome are you absolutely sure?"
Looking at him just then, that concerned look, those big gorgeous golden eyes he has, his sweet face, it made her lose it.
Kagome broke down crying, sobbing.
Inuyasha picked her up, looking down at her.
He ran off towards the direction of Kaede's village, towards the well.
During the little bit of him carrying her, they didn't say anything at all. Kagome would look up at him and dig her face into his robe for about five minutes, before looking back up at her doing the same thing again.
That was the only thing that Inuyasha needed to see for communication. Seeing that told him Kagome was frightened and scared out of her wits.
When they reached the well, Inuyasha put her down softly, kissing her forehead. He could tell she calmed down a bit.
She blushed the smallest bit, the blush barely noticeable. She hugged him as a thank you for carrying her all this way, and in response, he hugged her back.
She leaned back after a minute, grabbing the front of his robe, pulling into a deep kiss.
He stood wide-eyed at what just happened. It was so fast.
She let go of his lips blushing furiously, before climbing on the wells edge, jumping down it.

"Oh my god, Kagome what did you do?! What is wrong with you?!" She practically screamed at herself, her head in her hands as she sat at her desk.
"I mean what else was I supposed to do?! I dreamt about him dying, and that scared me half to death!"
She took a few deep breaths in her hands, before she heard a knock. It for sure wasn't coming from her door.
She looked out the window to see Inuyasha.
"Kagome?" He asked.
She smiled to herself, unlocking the window.
"Ugh, it's a pain to find your house, especially in the dark." He sighed.
"Mhm, well hi." Kagome said kind of embarrassed. She for sure wasn't expecting him at this time, especially since it was late.
"I'm ummm, I'm sorry about earlier." Kagome apologized.
"Kagome...if you don't mind me asking, what happened today? If I did something wrong to make you upset at me, I'm sorry, whatever it was." Inuyasha said, softly.
"I had a dream...about you." Kagome said softly.
"About me? About me what...?" Inuyasha looked at her.
"Dying..."
"Kagome..."
"It scared me half to death!" She implied a bit louder than her previous words.
"Kagome, what could hurt me?" Inuyasha scoffed.
"You've been close to death more than just once, Inuyasha! You may be a half demon, but that doesn't mean you're immortal!" Kagome said loudly.
It went quiet for a moment. So so very quiet.
"I'm so sorry, Kagome. I didn't know how much my fighting affected you..."
Kagome hugged him tightly not even a moment later. "Just please...don't go..."
"Kagome, my beautiful Kagome." Inuyasha said, whispering sweet nothings into her ear.
Her breath got caught in her throat as she heard that voice she loved oh so much right on her ear.
"Kagome, I will never ever leave you." Inuyasha said, trying to reassure her.
"Inuyasha..."
Not even a moment later, his lips were on hers.
She smiled into the kiss while he deepened it. He slowly, yet softly laid her down on the bed, getting on top of her.
Inuyasha kissed her with everything he had. She moaned into the kiss as he started to put one hand up her shirt, while the other one started to slide up her skirt.
"Not here..." Kagome said quietly.
Inuyasha sat up quietly, looking at Kagome. Had he done something wrong?
She knew exactly how and what he was thinking. "You didn't do anything wrong at all!! It's just...my brother could walk in any minute. I don't want him to have a front row seat on the action!" Kagome giggled a bit as Inuyasha laughed.
"I completely understand, Kagome. More than anything, I want you to get some rest!" He smiled at her.
He tucked her into her soft pink bed.
Inuyasha kissed her, smiling at her when he pulled away. "Kagome I...I love you...I don't know when I realized it, but I've felt it for a while. Kagome I love you."
She blushed at his sweet declaration of love. "I love you too Inuyasha..."
He smiled, sitting down on the floor by her bed.
She patted the bed. "Don't you want to come to bed with me?"
He nodded, as he crawled into bed with her.
"Goodnight Inuyasha!" She smiled, closing her eyes, but not before giving him another kiss.
He spooned her, putting her back against his torso, as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Goodnight Kagome..."
