"Hey Nah," Ananias greeted as he slowly made his way towards the manakete. "How are things?"
Nah looked up from the book that she had been busy reading to return Ananias' greeting with a smile and wave of her hand. "Hey Ananias! Things have been great, thanks for asking!"
"Well," Ananias said as he folded his arms and raised an eyebrow slightly in surprise, "someone's certainly chipper today. I take it then that our little plan was a success?"
Nah happily nodded her head. "Oh, absolutely! The number of people mistaking me for a child has gone down since we put our plan into effect. I'm finally being treated the way I'm supposed to be! How about you?"
Ananias gave Nah a nonchalant thumbs up. "Same here. Despite my doubts and my acceptance of our whole situation, this ended up making things a lot easier for us, haven't they?" He let out a small and light chuckle. "I guess I owe you an apology then. It looks like we really did have the power to change our lives for the better."
Nah laughed before holding her head up high and giving Ananias a playfully smug smile. "See? You see what happens when you actually start listening to me for a change? Because of me, everyone involved is just a little bit happier."
Ananias chuckled. "Yeah, I guess you're right." He then frowned. "But in all seriousness though, how long do you think we can keep this up?"
Nah frowned. "Hm?"
Ananias casually shrugged his shoulders. "I mean, we can't exactly keep this up forever, you know?" He took a seat next to Nah, leaned back a bit, using his arms for support, and continued, "Eventually, we're going to have to go our separate ways, you know? And even though we could still keep doing it, there wouldn't be much point if we're going on two completely different paths, you know?"
Nah took a moment to contemplate over what Ananias said before nodding her head sadly. "Yeah, I guess when you put it that way, this all just seems like we're just prolonging the inevitable, huh?" She then furrowed her brow and frowned, her resolve evidently written on her face. "But if you think that that's going to stop me from finding a solution, then you're dead wrong. If we have the power to change our lives for the better, then we should go for it, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem!" She looked up towards Ananias with a determined grin of her face and asked, "So Ananias, are do you say? Are you in, or are you out?"
Ananias let out a small gasp of surprise before giving Nah a small smile and answering, "Yeah, sure, I'm in. In fact," he stood up and, much to Nah's surprise, got down on one knee in front of her, "I couldn't be more in than I am right now."
"A-Ananias," Nah stammered, obviously taken aback by Ananias' unexpected words and actions, "w-what… what exactly are you doing?"
Ananias lightly blushed as he sheepishly averted his eyes away from Nah's surprised gaze and answered, "I… I'm… confessing." He began to sheepishly rub the back of his neck. "Even though what I said about… about admiring you last time was true, I… I really didn't believe that your whole 'raising awareness' thing was going to work, s-so when I saw how passionately and diligently you worked to reach your goal, and after what I said made you cry, I realized just how much I truly admired you and wanted for you to continue being someone that I admired." He then began nervously fiddling with his fingers. "I… I decided to take a page out of your book and be straightforward and honest about it, so… here it is." He took a deep breath, before looking directly at Nah and saying, "Nah, I… I love you, enough for me to always stay by your side and spread awareness about you being a manakete for the rest of my life… if… if… you know, that's what you want and all."
"Ananias," Nah breathed out incredulously. "I… I don't know what to say."
"I-If you're worried about how you'll be accepted into the family, then don't be!" Ananias frantically said. "My family knows all about manaketes! We just need to tell them once and they'll completely understand and welcome you with open arms!"
"Ananias…."
"And if you're worried about the whole aging issue, then don't! Even if I die before you do, most of my family are nearly identical in both looks and personality anyway, so even if we come and go, it'll almost be like we never left, but with a few differences to keep things interesting, so you'd never get bored of us! And there're a lot of us, so you'll never have to feel lonely again!"
"Ananias…," Nah said, a bit more sternly this time.
"And I promise to be more supportive of you from now on! And to treat you like a true lady! And to um, well, uh…."
"…You ran out of promises to make, didn't you?" Nah remarked knowingly.
"I-I'm sorry! Give me some time, and I'll come up with more, I swear!"
"Ananias, that's what I've been trying to say all this time! You don't need to promise me anything! I love you too! You don't have to change a thing or promise me anything!"
"B-But I could if I needed to, you know?"
Nah let out an amused chuckle. "Of course you could! But remember what I said last time? You've always looked out for me in your own little way, and I've grown to appreciate it. I don't mind spending the rest of my life with you and your family. In all honesty, I'm ecstatic about it!"
"R-Really?" Ananias asked.
"Of course! Who else is going to keep me grounded and be there for me well beyond their years? Though I will admit, I'm holding you on the whole treating-me-like-a-proper-lady thing. I wouldn't mind that one bit."
Ananias let out a laugh of relief. "Deal." He took Nah's hand into his and gently kissed it. "Might as well start now."
Nah blushed. "Oh, Ananias! You truly know how to make a girl feel rhapsodic, don't you?"
Ananias raised an eyebrow slightly in mild surprise. "Uh, what?"
Nah let out an exasperated sigh. "Well, it DID take me a long time to learn all of those words, you know! You must be crazy to think that I wouldn't put them to good use!"
Ending: Ananias and Nah
Ananias became the official messenger between the multitudes of Annas. With every Anna they visited, Nah always had an idea on how to improve sales, which the Annas always gladly appreciated.
Author's Note #1: Ananias finally has the guts to propose first this time around. Well, that's the end of Ananias' supports with Nah. It was certainly something different, wasn't it? Unfortunately, I must announce that I am entering another hiatus, so please, be patient until the next chapter, alright? For anyone who's curious, the next supports will be Cynthia, followed by Noire, Kjelle, Zephyra, Lumaria, Yarne, Laurent, and then Brady. See you next time!
Author's Note #2: As for the Fates supports, they will still be started after the Awakening supports are finished, but so far, the list of supports Ananias will have (due to being a glorified DLC character), will be:
Nohr:
Female Corrin, Xander, Camilla, Leo, Elise, Arthur, Effie, (Fates) Anna, Soleil, Ophelia, Kanna (if he/she is a daughter/son of Laslow, Odin, and Selena)
Revelations/Hoshido:
Rinkah, Setsuna, Subaki, Kaze
I must admit, I think this list is pretty much final. As you can see, Ananias is a DLC meant more for the Nohr/Conquest route than the Birthright/Hoshido route. Nothing against Hoshido/Birthright or anything, it's just that all of his friends are on the Nohr side. Please do not request for any Fates supports yet. Do that after the Awakening supports have been completed. Thank you.
